"Dee are you absolutely fucking crazy?" Nat asked, incredulous over the plan that Dee and Marie had come up with in her office.

"No, Nathaniel. I'm mentally stable and have my wits about me. Kevin needs to get away from her. And this was the only plan I could come up with to achieve that goal."

"Eddward Rockwell. Kevin lives with me, in an apartment, off campus. She has no idea where we live because I refused to let her over. I told her this to her face."

Dee looked at his friend for a moment. He cleared his throat. "Well. I guess I should have asked before coming up with a plan this ridiculous."

"Yes. Yes, you should have. I moved him out of that house a year ago because he was becoming increasingly anxious and his panic attacks were too often. I told her he was moving out and in with me. But now it makes a lot more sense why she was so angry about it at the time. " Nat looked at his friend, silent but considering. He knew his best friend would want to see him. After all, it was clear that he still loved Kevin. "Do you want to come for dinner tonight? I'm making your favorite, lasagna rolls. I make it for Kevin when he's missing you. And believe me, he misses you a lot. He only asks for it maybe once every 2 weeks. I oblige because he's my best friend, just like you."

Dee looked up. "He thinks of me?" He was transported to their last year of high school. The last time he saw him happy, before leaving him in that janitor's closet by himself.

Kevin walked up to him and kissed him on the cheek. "I missed you."

"I missed you too, ma petite. Did you sleep well?"

"Yeah. But it would've been better had you stayed."

Dee chuckled. "I know, love, but you needed your sleep. You had a test this morning. I didn't want to be the reason you failed."

Kevin laughed. "Okay. You got me there." He kissed him on the cheek again. "Let's go. We have class."

"Dee. Earth to Dee! Hello!"

He looked up. "My apologies, Nat. I was lost in my own thoughts. What were you saying?"

"I was telling you to come at six tonight. That's when we have dinner." After solidifying plans they parted ways. Dee had something he needed to take care of. And she wasn't going to be happy about it. It had been a few days since their last encounter and he had a few things to say.

2:00 Pm - Nazz's House on College Row

She knew it was him before she answered the door. She knew he would find out eventually and that he would come for her. She was fully prepared for a fight. She opened the door for him.

"Oh...I thought you were someone else."

"No, Nazz. It's not Dee. I told him I would handle this for him. I also told him it would be a crime to murder you. As much as I would have liked to have seen your body on my autopsy table, I would very much like to see him walking around as a free man even more."

She looked at this tiny and nerdy version of Kevin. Did he even know he had a doppelganger? "Why are you here? And who the hell are you?"

He cleared his throat. "My name is Kevin Anderson. I work for Dr. Eddward Rockwell. I'm doing this off the books, miss. And I would appreciate your cooperation."

"My cooperation? On what?" She eyed him up and down. Cocked an eyebrow. He looked just like her Kevin. Maybe she...

"I wouldn't. I'm also not attracted to the female sex."

She was shocked. "I..I wasn't.."

"I know. It was the look you were giving me. Come, we have something to discuss." He walked in and shut the door behind him. Effectively closing off the world to what was going on inside.

Double Dee and Kevin Barr

Dee was pacing. He never paced. He was never one to worry. He was composed, he was calm, he always calculated his next step. But the thought of being able to see him again after five years apart had him worried and, quite honestly, afraid. He breathed heavily. "Get yourself together, Rockwell. This is nothing to get overworked about. He's still the same Kevin." He paced again.

At a quarter to six, he started for Nat's apartment. With each step, his stomach turned from nervous energy. He hadn't felt this way since their first date, their first kiss. He touched his lips softly. He could still remember the way he felt against him. The way he tasted of strawberries, but perhaps that was the strawberry flavored mint he popped into his mouth right before. He couldn't be sure anymore, but he loved strawberries now when he hadn't before then. "Rockwell, you're being ridiculous." He muttered to himself. It didn't take him long to get to the apartment, considering he had gotten an apartment that was a 15 to 20 minute walk. He wasn't going to come down here without at least being in walking distance of their apartment. Just in case he needed to be there in a hurry. Or so he told himself.

Once he reached the building, he stood there and looked at the door. He was terrified now. What was he going to say when he saw him? What would he do? He regretted, really regretted, leaving Kevin in that closet all those years ago. If he had known then what he knows now, he wouldn't have walked away. He was nervous. He sighed and raked his hands through his hair, effectively taking his beanie off. "Dee?"

He startled and whirled around, his bright blue eyes wide. "Kevin..."

They stared at each other. Neither saying a word. Dee looked down and saw that Kevin was juggling his bookbag and a few bags of groceries. "Here, mon amie, let me help." He stepped forward to grab what he could. But just before he did, Kevin dropped everything, glass shattering in a bag, and threw himself on Dee, who caught him and squeezed him tight. Kevin was sobbing, uncontrollably sobbing. "You're here. Like, really here. I thought you didn't want to see me." Dee hugged him tighter. "I'm sorry. I couldn't see you. Not yet. Amour, please stop crying. Let's get these bags and go inside. I regret that we may not have lasagna tonight. You broke the sauce jar." He chuckled.

"It's okay. Nat always keeps extra jars in the cabinet. It'll be alright." He laughed. Dee picked up what he could while Kevin grabbed his bag. Nat was walking up when they had just reached the door.

"I assumed it would be okay to wait a few minutes down there while the two of you hugged and cried. Are you boys hungry? I'm starving. I have snacks while we wait!"
