Hat Kid felt hollow as she walked back to the reception area. She was so excited to know more about their enemy, yet she now wished she didn't hear anything that Ayano said. She couldn't think up of a definitive reason why. When she entered the reception area, she spotted Mono and Isaac playing with a bunch of colored blocks. Hat Kid felt sad. They didn't deserve to be dragged into this. Not into this swirling pit of ugly truths that was the internet. Sometimes, Hat Kid wanted to go back to the times when she was famous. Where fans showered her with affection. But when her fame died out, she had nowhere else to go. She got a job at the justice department but it was filled with others belittling her due to her age. She just wanted to be a little kid again. Looking at the others, she felt a strong surge of jealousy. They had no idea.
Pushing her thoughts aside, Hat Kid gestured for the two to follow her.
"How was it?" asked Mono.
"It went as expected," said Hat Kid shortly. When the trio exited the building, they found Susie waiting for them outside. The angel floated in the air with an unreadable expression on their face.
Hat Kid stopped in front of them, suspicion etched into the lines of her face.
"You lied."
"I withheld some of the truth," said Susie.
"That's the same as lying..." muttered Hat Kid, "You knew that voice was Kyle Karen."
Susie didn't say anything.
"Why... Why did you not tell us and send us off into a deathtrap?"
"If you think that I am capable of working with Kyle Karen, you are sorely mistaken," said Susie showing a hint of impatience, "It represents everything that I stand against."
"Then why didn't you tell us? We're literally on the same side!"
"If I were to act openly against Kyle, it would have sent its followers after me. Do you think I would be that foolish to do such a thing?"
"We are doing exactly that and look where it has gotten us!" yelled Hat Kid, "Then what have you been doing anyway!?"
"Finding a way to defeat it."
Hat Kid wisely decided to stay silent.
"So tell me, what have you learned from your visit?"
"Kyle is the embodiment of online toxicity and is currently using Twitter as a base of operations."
"Yes..." said Susie, "It hides behinds websites to be a menace to society but one thing you may not know is that Kyle's influence spread only as far as his followers go."
"You mean it can only go to places where toxicity is present?"
"Correct. Another thing is that Kyle must stay in its website of choice for it to maintain control over its followers."
"I don't understand where this is going, Susie."
Surprisingly it was Mono who understood.
"We have to move it somewhere so it loses control. So it can lose all the power it has gained ever since it moved into Twitter!"
Susie smiled and snapped their fingers. A cartoonish bomb materialized next to them.
"Do you know what it is?" asked Susie.
"It's a recommendation bomb," responded Hat Kid apprehensively, "It teleports people to a random website."
"It's a practical joke used by YouTube users," said Susie, "For the last few hours, I was working on this. It was rather difficult to get considering YouTube's current state. I had to call in a few favors."
Hat Kid felt a twinge of guilt.
"But I also altered the function to send our unfortunate target to somewhere deliberate."
"But that wouldn't work," objected Hat Kid, "Kyle can influence the website's users and we'll be in the same position again."
"Very good observation," said Susie, "Which is why we have to bring it to somewhere it couldn't possibly do anything."
"But where would such a place exist?"

There was a pause. There was a look of abject confusion on Hat Kid's face. Mono and Isaac didn't really know how to react.
"So let me just confirm, your plan is to trap the embodiment of toxicity under a subreddit?"

A yellow pulsating ball of light emerged out of the multitude of feathers. Hat Kid saw a look of recognition on Mono's face. Susie gasped in horror.

The yellow ball of light started to shift and pulsate.

As the light dimmed, a new figure stood where the ball of light was moments ago. It had a serpentine body that had a human torso on top like a centaur. It was clothed in some sort of fire-proof suit. But its head... its head was wreathed in flames. Its eyes were blinding dots of pure rage. It wore a gas mask that had a rubber tube that was connected to a flamethrower that it was holding.

The thing that was Cancel Culture let out an audible exhale and typed something onto a keyboard in its flamethrower. Then a fiery wall of death erupted out and descended on them.
