Mono was back at the place again. He sat up and groaned. The last thing he wanted was to have another nightmare of this place. Before it was terrifying, but now it was starting to get annoying. Although the place seemed more focused. Before it was hazy and the outlines were fuzzy. But the terrifying voice wasn't here. At least not yet. Mono looked at his surroundings and realized he was stranded. The flooring around him was gone. He was trapped above a bottomless pit. Mono looked down into the pit and realized he was wrong. Blue feathers rustled at the bottom. Kyle was here. It just chose not to speak. Mono backed away from the edge. His assumption that this was a nightmare was slowly crumbling. Suddenly mechanical whirling echoed outside. It slowly grew louder and louder. Mono looked up and saw Spamton NEO being lowered from the ceiling. This time he didn't seem to be moving erratically like all the times Mono saw him. His rictus was shaped more like a grimace than a grin. It seemed like it took all his effort to stop twitching randomly. The front door creaked open and Cancel Culture slithered in, its flamethrower strapped to its back. Its eyes seemed less intense than they were before. Its labored breathing matched the mechanical clicks from Spamton NEO in volume. The two stopped in front of the pit. Neither of them gave Mono a glance. The building started to rumble and the thing in the pit started to rise. Mono started to panic. Was it going to swallow him as it did with Jinx? But soon Mono's fears were allayed as the mass of blue feathers and wings stopped just below the edge of the pit. The wings parted to reveal hundreds of human mouths.
WHAT HAVE YOU TO REPORT...
All the mouths spoke in unison. It was extremely nauseating for Mono but Cancel Culture and Spamton didn't seem to mind. Cancel Culture spoke first.
"I have mobilized the troops around the place just as you wanted."
Its voice was slightly muffled by its gas mask but it was unmistakably the voice of Banhammer. There was a pause. Cancel Culture shifted.
YOU SEEM UNSETTLED... DO YOU DISAGREE WITH THE PLAN?
"No," said Cancel Culture quickly, "I just don't understand why you have all your forces surrounding one specific area. We'll be able to have a wider range of vision if we spread out..."
Every single mouth turned into a snarl.
DO YOU ACCUSE ME OF INCOMPETENCE!? DO YOU THINK THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE ALREADY THOUGHT ABOUT THIS?!
Cancel Culture recoiled in fear.
WHY DO YOU THINK I HAVE SPAMTON FLYING AROUND TO MAKE SURE THOSE LITTLE SHITS STAY THE COURSE?!
Kyle gritted its teeth. Its rage subsided but the malice was still there.
SPAMTON... DO YOU SHARE CANCEL CULTURE'S SENTIMENTS ABOUT MY PLANS?
"NO..." Spamton responded, "I HAVE [[browsed]] THE AREA MULTIPLE TIMES... I DID NOT SEE [[underaged female]] AND THE [[baby wipes 50% off]]! THEY ARE EITHER TAKING YOUR [[it's a trap]] OR THEY ARE NOT AT TWITTER..."
THE LAST SCENARIO IS UNNECESSARY... IF THEY LEFT THE WEBSITE, THE NON-BINARY BITCH WOULD SEND THEM BACK TO RETRIEVE OUR SPECIAL GUEST...
Kyle grinned with anticipation.
THEIR FEAR OF BEING EXPOSED WILL KEEP THEM IN THE GRASS... WALKING STRAIGHT INTO MY FORCES... SO LET ME ASK THIS AGAIN, CANCEL CULTURE... DO YOU DISAGREE WITH THE PLAN?
Cancel Culture shook its head, but it had more conviction. Kyle seemed satisfied.
NOW RETURN TO YOUR POSITIONS... IT IS TIME TO RECTIFY BOTH YOUR FAILURES TO KILL THESE CHILDREN...
Spamton NEO reached up and tugged his strings. He shot upwards through the roof and into the sky. Cancel Culture slithered back out the door and closed it.
SO DO YOU STILL THINK THAT THIS IS A NIGHTMARE?
The voice let out a horrible laugh. The platform started to crumble. The wings started to part away to reveal a giant funnel of mouths and feathers. Mono had no choice but to fall down into the hole as maniacal laughter echoed around him.
I TOLD YOU I'LL BE THE ONE WATCHING YOU FALL... AND NOW YOUR FRIENDS WILL DIE... AND YOU'LL BE ALONE...
Mono landed on a soft patch of feathers in the middle of a giant cavern-like area. The tunnel he fell from was sealed over with wings.
NO ONE KNOWS YOU ARE HERE... NOT EVEN SUSAN CAN REACH YOU NOW OR THE OTHERS... THE LITTLE GIRLIE'S ANGER AND THE BABY'S PARANOIA WILL KEEP THEM OUT...
The feathers that cushioned Mono's fall swirled and a single wooden chair materialized in front of him. The mouths grinned psychotically. Horrible memories started to bubble in Mono's mind. The flesh walls. The chair. The door. The hallway. The signal tower. The viewers. It was starting to make sense.
YES... YOU RECOGNISE THIS...
Mono couldn't. He didn't want to go through that again.
YOU ARE THE FINAL PIECE... DO IT... YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO...
Mono had enough. He tore his paper bag from his head. He wanted whatever Kyle was to see his anger. He now knew what Kyle wanted him to do. But he wasn't angry about that. He was angry at how Kyle tried to convince him. Everyone Kyle hurt to bring Mono here.
"You put me through hell!" screamed Mono, "Now you expect me to be a part of your plan?"
Mono felt the air around him rippled. The floor twisted until it flung the chair off to the side. Mono breathed heavily.
"You psycho. You can bully me to your heart's content. I don't care. But you'll never get what you want."
The mouths on the wall of feathers were agape with a genuine surprise for a few seconds. Then the surprise turned to anger. Then the anger turned to fury.
FINE! YOU LITTLE FUCKWIT!
The blue feathers started to glitch. The mouths howled, leered and snarled. The air grew thick with the stench of rotten eggs. The feathers started to melt together. Then the glitching stopped. All that was left was yellow, purple and brown sludge. The mouths remained unchanged.
NO MORE MASKS... I WILL NOT BE MUZZLED... FREEDOM OVER LIFE... MY BODY MY CHOICE...
Kyle muttered anti-mask slogans as TV screens emerged out of the sludge.
YOU WANT TO BE DIFFICULT?! SO BE IT! MAYBE WITH THE RIGHT ENCOURAGEMENT, YOU'LL DO AS I SAY...
The screens crackled to life and showed an army of Twitter users, Discord Mods, Spambots and League of Legends players that surrounded Hat Kid and Isaac. Hat Kid was kneeling down in despair, having thrown her umbrella aside. Isaac was cowering in fear, his head covered by his stubby arms. Mono gritted his teeth in determination.
TAKE A SEAT... USE YOUR POWERS... SEND OUT MY SIGNAL... AND MAYBE I WILL SPARE YOUR FRIENDS...
"You lie," said Mono. He wasn't scared of Kyle anymore. He believed in miracles and niceties. Despite the odds, all he hoped for was the support the group have had over their journey. It wasn't going to be cut short by a god who was nothing more than a bully. The mouths sneered in contempt and the army closed in. Then a bright light flashed in the middle of the encirclement. The army hesitated for a moment. But that was their first mistake as a white portal materialized beside Hat Kid. Then hundreds of internet users burst out and collided with the first circle of Discord Mods. Kyle's army was caught completely flat-footed.
NO!
A tendril of toxic sludge burst out and smashed the TV screen that Mono was watching with glee. The same tendril coiled around Mono and lifted him into the air. Kyle's mouths were howling with anger. But the yells were no longer bellowing or echoing. It was shrieky and whiny and its voice cracked every few words.
FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! THAT BITCH! YOU SMILE NOW YOU LITTLE SHIT! BUT I'LL MAKE YOU WATCH THIS PUSSY OF A RESISTANCE CRUMBLE INTO NOTHING!
Mono grinned because he was more than happy to oblige.
