After another long adventure, Mario and Luigi arrived at Bowser's castle, and were facing the king of Koopas in yet another fight, Bowser spat a fireball at Mario, but Mario hit it with his hammer, and after that, Luigi hit him with a punch, Bowser tried to hit Mario with a ground pound, but he dodged, grabbed Bowser by the tail, and threw him towards a bomb.

Bowser (before hitting the bomb): I hate those plumbers...

After defeating Bowser, Mario and Luigi rescue Princess Peach, and leave their enemy's castle, but before leaving, Mario looks at him and says:

Mario: Hey Bowser, don't forget we have a kart race scheduled for this weekend.

Bowser: Don't worry, I'll be there.

Bowser passes out from the fight, but he vows that one day he will defeat Mario, one way or another.

And a few days later, it seems that his dream was about to come true, during the kart race, they were on the last lap, and Bowser was in first place.

Bowser: Finally! Today is my day, I'm finally going to defeat Mario!

However, his joy was soon interrupted when he saw a blue shell flying over his kart, and everyone knows what that means.

Bowser: You gotta be kidding me (the blue shell explodes on his head) Curse you blue shell!

While he is unable to move because of the explosion, Mario and Luigi overtake him.

Mario: So long Bowser!

Luigi: Bye bye.

And after them, all the other competitors overtake Bowser, and he ends up in last place.

Lakitu: Nice try.

After that defeat, Bowser goes back to his castle, he wasn't happy, in fact, he was throwing a tantrum, breaking everything he found, Kamek saw that, and tried to make him calm down.

Kamek (a little scared): Lord Bowser... Please calm down...

But the last thing Bowser would do was calm down, he was so angry, he simply grabbed the Magikoopa, and pinned him against the wall.

Bowser: HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CALM DOWN? That Mario is always in my way, I should have taken over the Mushroom Kingdom a long time ago if it wasn't for him, AND HE ALWAYS WINS! Today, during the kart race, I thought I was finally going to win, BUT HE WON AGAIN! Curse you Mario!

Bowser then starts breathing fire all over the place, and Kamek creates a magical force field to protect himself from the flames.

Bowser: That's so unfair, I'm stronger than Mario, I'm better looking than him, I'm a much better fighter, and I'm smarter too.

Kamek (speaking silently so Bowser can't hear): That last part is hard to believe.

Bowser: What was that?

Kamek: No, nothing... What I mean is, be patient, one day, you'll come up with a plan so perfect that Mario will never be able to beat you.

Bowser: How? HOW? The idea to beat Mario won't simply hit me in the head!

As he says that, Bowser grabs a bookshelf, and throws it up, causing all the books to fall, and, one of them casually hits him in the head, and Kamek gets excited when he sees the title of the book.

"Incredibly Powerful Items to Defeat Your Arch Enemies"

Kamek: Wow, who knew? Looks like an idea to defeat Mario just hit you in the head, let's see what this book has to show us...

Bowser: Kamek please, I know you're trying to cheer me up but what would a stupid book...

Kamek: HOLD IT! This is perfect! Sir, take a look.

Kamek hands the book to Bowser, and he sees an image of a green mushroom with a white clock on it.

Bowser (reading the book): The time mushroom, whoever eats this mushroom will have absolute control of time, being able to do things like travel to the past or the future, freeze his enemies in time, make their time go faster or slow down, rejuvenate or age allies and enemies, and much more, the only way to protect yourself from the effects of this item is to use a Superstar, it is believed that there is only one time mushroom left in this world, and it is buried somewhere in the Dark Land.

Even though he was reading the book, Bowser didn't understand why Kamek was so excited.

Kamek: Sir, do you realize what that means?

Bowser just looked at him as if he didn't understand anything, and Kamek was starting to get impatient.

Kamek: Okay, let me give you an example, if someone, like you, used this item on one of your enemies, let's say Mario, you could basically do whatever you wanted with him, you could freeze his time, and he would be frozen, make him slow like a snail, or even turn him into a baby so he can't interfere with your plans, and this item is buried in the Dark Land, which happens to be your kingdom.

Bowser: Wait, you're telling me that the object I need to defeat Mario is closer to me than I think?

Kamek: BINGO!

And for the first time that day, Bowser was happy.

Bowser: BWAHAHAHAHA, if I find this thing, finally, the Mushroom Kingdom will be mine! GUARDS!

Several Koopa guards appear in front of him.

Bowser (showing them the book): I need this, this item will help me defeat Mario once and for all, the time mushroom is buried somewhere in the Dark Land, and whoever brings it to me will win a big promotion!

A week later, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi and the others were having a picnic.

Peach: What a beautiful day, the sun is shining, and best of all, Bowser hasn't attacked in over a week.

Luigi: Peach is right, nothing could ruin this day.

All of a sudden, they see a bunch of Koopas running around, and they're all carrying shovels.

Daisy: What's up with those Koopas? why they're carrying those shovels?

Yoshi (seeing that one of the Koopas has started to dig): And why are they digging?

Mario: Luigi, are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Luigi: Yes Mario, this must be the work of that guy, that bad guy.

Mario: The picnic will have to wait, first we have to find out what he's up to this time, come on Luigi!

Mario and Luigi run to Bowser's castle, but before they get there, one of the Koopas arrives with the item Bowser wanted.

Koopa: Sir, I think I found it.

Bowser looked at the item the Koopa was holding, and compared it to the image in his book, after looking at the item for a while he smiled.

Bowser: YES! Finally, the power I need to get rid of Mario forever, I'm going to eat this mushroom now and...

Before Bowser can eat the mushroom, Kamek uses his telekinesis, and prevents him from eating it.

Kamek: Sir, as much as you have a chance against Mario if you use the time mushroom now, I think we have to take a few things into consideration.

Bowser: Yeah? What kind?

Kamek: For starters, this power only lasts for an hour, so even if you defeat Mario, other enemies might try to end your reign, on top of that. Mario might have a Superstar stashed under his hat or wherever he keeps so many items, so he can use that against you.

Bowser: So, what do you suggest?

Kamek: Come with me, I'll tell you my plan.

Bowser follows Kamek into another room, and some time later, Mario and Luigi arrive at his castle.

Mario: Okay, we're here, I have a bad feeling about what's about to happen, we better be prepared.

Fortunately, Mario had brought two feathers, one for himself, and one for Luigi, they used them to get a cape.

Meanwhile, Kamek is in a room full of magical ingredients, and Bowser is watching him.

Kamek: Great, when I'm done here you'll be able to use the mushroom's powers infinitely, so you can use this to go back in time, to when they were babies and fell on Yoshi's Island, so you can make sure they never come to the Mushroom Kingdom!

Bowser: Kamek, you're a genius, this way they can never beat me.

Kamek then gives Bowser a strange scepter, and at the end of that scepter was the time mushroom.

At that moment, Mario and Luigi arrive where Bowser and Kamek are.

Mario: Your evil deeds are over, Bowser, put down that scepter and surrender peacefully.

Bowser: You don't give me orders Mario, by the way, you and your brother are about to be forgotten in history!

He raises the scepter and creates a portal to the past, Bowser then gets on his flying vehicle, and goes through the portal.

Luigi: We have to follow him.

Mario and Luigi jump on the portal, and go back to the past, meanwhile, Bowser is flying around looking for the stork that would be carrying Mario and Luigi, Bowser then sees the stork, and tries to hit it with a fireball, but before it hits the stork, Mario and Luigi appear.

Mario (knocking the fireball back to Bowser): This belongs to you.

Bowser was not happy to see Mario and Luigi again.

Bowser: YOU AGAIN! Never mind, let's see if you can escape all these attacks.

He starts throwing several fireballs at Mario and Luigi, but they hit them all with their hammers, Mario then fires a fireball at the propeller of Bowser's vehicle, causing him to fall.

Bowser: IT CAN'T BE!... I mean, thanks for helping me.

Bowser is happy, because he sees that the stork was flying away from Yoshi's Island to escape the fireballs, Mario and Luigi saw that too, but they didn't mind, they then flew down to continue facing Bowser, but when they get there, he wasn't there anymore.

Instead, they see only a portal, without really understanding what was happening, Mario and Luigi got through the portal, believing that it was part of Bowser's plan, however, when they get off the portal, they have a terrible surprise.

Mario and Luigi were back in the Mushroom Kingdom, but everything was different, the Toads' mushroom houses were now Bowser's shell houses, besides, there were statues of Bowser everywhere, and his flags too, many Toads were chained by the Koopas, and the castle, which used to be Peach's, was completely different, there was a Bowser glass window where Peach's glass window used to be, and several Bowser symbols scattered everywhere, Mario and Luigi didn't understand how, but it turned out, Bowser had taken over the Mushroom Kingdom, and that was only confirmed when they saw a sign at the entrance to the kingdom.

"WELCOME TO BOWSER'S KINGDOM"

Yes guys, today I'm bringing something different, a remake of an old story, for those who don't know, the story "A plumber through time" was the first one I wrote (I posted it here 2 years ago, but actually I I wrote it over 4 years ago) and for that reason, I don't think this story has aged as well as my others, that's why I decided to rewrite it, despite that, I can't say that this story will be very different from the original, it will just have improved writing, and some superficial differences.

Now, for those who haven't read the original story, as we can see, Bowser managed to scare the stork, and prevent Mario and Luigi from reaching the Mushroom Kingdom, and for that reason he took over everything, will they be able to find a way to reverse this mess and go home?
