Sorry that this late but I guess it's still New Years somewhere. What Jack says is based off of something my mom said this New Years.
Ianto awoke feeling groggy and looked over at a still asleep Jack. Jack had given everyone New Years off so the team had split off to do their own thing. Ianto reached over to the night table at his side to check his phone. So much for celebrating, they had slept through the count down.
Ianto felt Jack move on the bed. He looked over to Jack who was now laying on his side and smiled. "Happy New Years, Jack."
"21 in the 21st century, that's got to be lucky."
Ianto hummed. "Here's hoping."
