Chapter 1.
A rude awakening.
Sephiroth. White long thick hair. Black cape and robes. Chrome shoulder pads. And a single black wing.
As well as a very long sword, the Masamune. This is the story of a fallen one-winged angel, on the path to redemption.
The last thing Sephiroth could remember was a blinding white light, followed by purple and clear shards.
(Alterna...) he thought to himself, as he slowly drifted in a white void.
(So That's what happened. I was fighting Cloud when he got some ring, and used Alterna. So. Where am i going now?)
The white void started to fade into a light blue. With some white spots.
No. Not spots. Clouds.
*growl* "Cloud. You will pay for this." Said Sephiroth as the void slowly faded away completly. In it's place was a road. Some office buildings.
A dark alley to his left side. Were those cars honking their horns? When Sephiroth woke up, he realized he was in the middle of a street.
Everyone was looking at him in surprise. Cars were piling up.
Slowly, Sephiroth got up, looked around, and headed for the sidewalk on his right. Everyone's gazes followed him.
(why is everyone staring at me? Is it the way i'm dressed?)
Well, he was half right. Literally. That was one of two reasons why. One was the way he was dressed.
Black robes with armor. Another was his hair. White and very long.
Sephiroth felt... odd, to say the least. After being cast away by Alterna, he lost something that was a part of him. Was it JENOVA? He felt like crap, almost to the point of being sick.
(Where am i? I don't think i'm on Gaia anymore. Or even the same dimension.) He thought as he sat at a nearby bench. On the wall behind him was an advertisement for something called "ComiCon."
Sephiroth took the poster off the wall.
On it read: "COME TO COMICON! The best Cosplay wins a PRIZE! 1000 DOLLARS!"
There were depictions of people in costumes.
(Cosplay? Maybe it stands for Costume Play.) thought Sephiroth. (If I'm in another world, my money might not be good here.
1000 of these "Dollars" doesn't sound like much. But maybe they have more value than Gil.)
As Sephiroth looked at the poster, a stranger with curly ginger hair, and a blue vest with white shirt walked up to him and said
"Excuse me sir. I uh, like your outfit. Uh, why are you dressed like Sephiroth from Final Fantasy? you goin' to ComiCon?"
This confused Sephiroth. People know about him? No. It must be a different Sephiroth. Maybe from a form of media. A movie perhaps.
A book? And this Sephiroth just so happened to look just like him.
(i'm DEFINITELY not on Gaia anymore. Everything is different, and not as technologically advanced. What IS this universe?)
He turned his head to the poster, then back to the stranger.
"Y-Yes. I am going to ComiCon."
"Awesome! Nice sword too. Where'd you get it?"
"Uuuhhh... I bought it from a blacksmith."
"Guess he likes Final Fantasy 7 as well, huh?"
7? How many movies are there? Was it even a movie at all? Sephiroth had a feeling he should not give away his true identity.
Just play along, and go with the flow.
Sephiroth responded to the stanger with "as a matter of fact, he does."
(what am i doing? This guy should be Shishkebab right now! Why am i acting friendly?)
"that's cool! I'm going to ComiCon as well. Oh, i haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Thomas Ackerman. What's yours?"
"oh. It's... Se- uh... sid...ney. Sidney. Sidney..."
The position of the sun indicated it was dawn. "Dawnstone."
"Hit your head, dude? Took quite a while to say your name."
"Y-Yeah. Just dizzy. From falling in traffic."
"Well, hello Sidney. So, you after the 1000 dollar prize?" said Thomas as he sat down next to Sephiroth.
"Yes. As a matter of fact, I am."
Sephiroth answered. For all he knew, Gil didn't even exist in this strange world. He needed what was called "dollars" if he
needed to live in this world. 1000 Gil is not very much. But 1000 Dollars seems to be a big deal.
Maybe he could use the money to get an apartment, buy some food, and other things.
Sephiroth asked him "Thomas, why are you going to ComiCon? Are you after the prize as well?"
"Nah. I'm going just to buy stuff there."
Replied Thomas.
"Well, I'm going back to my apartment. Where are you going?"
What would he answer with? He just woke up in the middle of the street, sat down, and is talking with a person he just met!
He quickly devised a story to tell him.
"Well... I don't have anywhere to go.
Today was the last day I would spend in my hotel room. But someone... Stole my car. Now i can't go back home.
I was on the road, and homeless. I came here because I thought I could use the money for an apartment room.
Maybe save up enough to get a new car."
"Woah." Thomas said. "That sucks man. Hey! Why don't you crash at my place! The event won't take place until tomorrow."
"why are you inviting me, a total stranger, to your house?"
Thomas gave a light shrug and replied "Don't know. I just might be able to make a friend."
Friend? This word meant nothing to Sephiroth. He was a cold person at heart. No mercy. But he did not want people to think he was this "Sephiroth" from this form of media he was told about.
What could he do? He can't feel his magic anymore, so he can't destroy him. He also can't attack him because he doesn't think he's immortal here. Does he have to live here in this world now?
With a heavy sigh, Sephiroth stood from the bench and took Thomas up on his offer. "I guess it couldn't hurt then. Where do you live?"
"I live at Concrete Tree Hills. We can take the bus there. Speaking of which..."
The bench they were at just so happened to be a Bus Stop, and a bus also just so happened to arrive.
(This is one well placed bus stop.) Sephiroth thought to himself.
The bus opened the doors, and Thomas got in. "Concrete Tree Hills please." he said to the bus driver.
He looked over at Sephiroth and said "Sidney, are you coming or what?"
Sephiroth jokingly responded with "or what. Heh."
With that, he got on the bus and got in a seat with Thomas.
"hey Sidney, you're not broke are you? You didn't pay the bus driver." said Thomas to Sephiroth.
"I... Don't think my money is good here." replied Sephiroth reaching into his pockets.
He took out a handfull of Gil coins. It added up to a paltry 1000 Gil.
Thomas's eyes sparkled.
"Is that Gil from Final Fantasy? That's sooo cooool!" so it appears that Gil does not exist in this world as well.
First, this "Other Sephiroth" is from this "Final Fantasy," and now Gil as well? And what about Sephiroth's magic? Where did it go?
"Don't think they take collectors coins though. Here. I'll pay for you."
With that, Thomas got out of his seat and went to the driver to pay for Sephiroth.
Why would anyone be nice to a man like Sephiroth? After all he has done. Killing people. Threatening to destroy the world.
There is no way this could happen to him. Of course, nobody know's who he is in this universe.
And his connection with JENOVA and her cells were lost. That meant his rage was taken away. All thanks to the Alterna spell.
The bus started to move, and Thomas and Sephiroth were on their way to Concrete Tree Hills.
And so, Sephiroth began his journey towards redemption and glory.
With a new friend made, Sephiroth (or rather Sidney Dawnstone) will face many trials on an unforgettable journey.
The journey to a new life.
The journey to Redemption.
The new adventure begins.
