Hey everyone! I'm so excited to bring you guys more stories with bigger adventures for the louds, and this is smth I wanted to do for a while. Following the first movie after that big vacation to Scotland, I was like "what would happen if they want back?" so I decided to do my own story on the family coming back to finally take down morag once and for all, with some big twists and turns. I absolutely loved the movie and I wanted to create a sequel. I worked on this story with a good friend of mine Loudcrowd111 so make sure to give them some of the credit as well! We worked very hard on this story so we hope you enjoy!
"Come on, you can't be serious." Lincoln said to his best friend, Clyde.
"Of course I am!" Clyde answered. "Pineapple belongs on pizza and that's a fact."
"It tastes disgusting." Lincoln groaned.
"Have you ever tried it?"
"No..."
"Well try it and maybe you'll start to feel a different way." Clyde told Lincoln.
"I guess, except I'm nervous about it." That's when they arrived back to the Loud House. "Well here's my stop, catch you later buddy!"
"Bye buddy!" Clyde waved goodbye to his best friend.
Lincoln arrived back home, as he was about to open the door, he heard loud music playing inside. He looked inside the window and saw the weirdest thing ever.
His sisters were throwing a party. There were balloons, cake, and everything. There was even a hot tub.
"What the..." Lincoln was perplexed. He went inside and it got even crazier.
"Hey Lincoln, join us!" Lola said to him.
"You're literally going to love this hot tub." Lori chimed in.
"Even I'm having a great time." Lucy said, even though she didn't look like it.
"Of course you are..." Lincoln answered.
That's when Lynn came in skateboarding.
"Hey Stinkin, watch out!" Lincoln ducked and ran away from her, only to find Lisa and her robot, Todd.
"Elder brother, you showed up! Check out what I did to Todd!"
"I love this music!" he cheered. He started dancing and then jumped in the hot tub.
"Is he even allowed to be in the water?" Lincoln wondered.
"Of course he is, that's why I made him waterproof." Lisa told him.
"Hot dogs! Get your hot dogs!" Lynn Sr came in with a cart full of them.
"Dad?" Lincoln asked. "What are you doing?"
"Providing food for the party!" he replied.
That's when Rita came in, and started singing.
"Ooh girl, if I could, ooh girl..."
"Mom! Stop!" Lincoln begged his mom.
"Why? This is so much fun!" she refused to listen.
"Guys! Can you stop?" Lincoln asked. However, no one heard him.
"Ice cream sundae bar!" Luan cheered as she brought in a huge cart of ice cream.
"Ice cream! Now you're speaking my language!" This convinced Lincoln to join in on the party.
They were having a great time, until...
"Guys! The mail arrived!" Leni walked in. However, the party was too loud to listen to her. "Guys?"
She grabbed the microphone that Rita was holding, and screamed into it. "YOU GUYS!"
Everyone stopped partying.
"The mail came!" Leni repeated. This somehow got everyone's attention.
"Ooooh!" Everyone simultaneously said.
"First, it's for you mom!" She handed Rita a letter.
Rita screamed as soon as she read the letter.
"It's an invitation to a meeting for the best advice column writers! It's in a month though! But I'm definitely going!"
Lola got a letter to compete in a regional pageant, Lynn got a letter to attend another hockey game, and Leni got her acceptance letter to her dream college, Michigan University of Arts and Design, to study fashion design.
Everyone, especially Lori, was proud of Leni.
"I'm so proud of you, Leni! Our colleges are so close together, we'll be able to visit each other during the school year! I'm so glad that you can study your favorite thing in the world." Lori told her.
"Me too Leni." Lincoln hugged her. "You're finally going to accomplish your dreams."
"Thanks, Linky. Speaking of which, there's a letter for you."
"That's weird. Who would send me a letter?" Lincoln asked himself.
"Open it." Lori told him.
Lincoln tried to opened the letter. However, the envelope was stuck. Lynn came in, and easily opened it.
"See Stinkin? It's not that hard." she laughed as she walked away.
Lincoln saw the letter. However, there was no name listed for who it was from. That was strange.
He opened the letter, and this is what it read:
Dear Lincoln Loud,
How are you and your family? We miss you guys so much! Anyway, we need you guys back to Scotland! Morag is causing terror to Loch Loud, and after what you guys did to stop her during your last visit, we need you to return and take her down once and for all. Your ancestors want you back, too. The castle is nearly destroyed. And as duke, I'm doing everything I can to stop her. But I'm going to need help from the man with the plan. We need you guys to come ASAP! See you soon!
Sincerely,
Angus (The Duke of Loch Loud)
"It's from Angus." Lincoln openly said.
"Who's he again?" Luan asked.
"The guy who helped us when we went to Scotland last year." Lori answered.
"And who's this moron he's talking about?" Lola asked.
Everyone laughed at that comment."
"Morag, the so called duchess who almost tried to kill us last time we went!" Lincoln replied.
"Oh I remember her." Lisa said. "She knocked Lincoln unconscious."
That comment made Lincoln paranoid.
"And remember when she "accidentally" made Lincoln ride Lela the dragon to destroy the whole town?" Lucy chimed in.
Lincoln just got even more worried.
"And then the whole town hated him afterward." Lori continued.
Lincoln's mind was spiraling in many different directions as he was feeling different emotions.
"All because he wanted to be special just like us." Lynn added on.
As everyone started talking about what happened the last time they went to Scotland, Lincoln started experiencing bad thoughts. Just hearing those brought back those terrible feelings. Lincoln had never felt this way before. That's when he totally started to lose it.
He started experiencing flashbacks in his mind from when he was the duke. That vacation was so haunting and traumatized him. He refused to even speak of it to anyone but his sisters and parents.
At this point, he couldn't take it anymore. He ran upstairs to his room and slammed the door.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Lincoln screamed. However, he screamed inside his head so no one could hear him.
Lincoln did not want to go back to Scotland. That trip was one of the most devastating times of his life. He grabbed his laptop and called Angus.
"Angus! You gotta help me!" Lincoln complained.
"Sure, what's up?" he asked. He was watching over the castle.
"Please don't make my family and I go back to Scotland! I don't want to relive that experience again!" Lincoln explained.
"Lincoln, I know it was a hard time for you, but we need you to save Loch Loud." Angus replied. "Morag is taking over and destroying the town!"
"Let her. I don't care." Lincoln was about to cry. "I'm not going back there. Ever. Now leave me alone."
"But you're the one who called..." Angus muttered.
"Just stop." Lincoln said as he hung up.
He started laying in his bed while hugging Bun-Bun. He had never felt this traumatized before. He picked up his diary and started writing...
"Memories are coming back to torture me. I'm never ever going back to Scotland. That vacation was more of a living nightmare for me."
He closed his diary and sulked in bed. He started to think about what happened the last time he went to Scotland, and how that changed his life forever.
Flashback to the movie:
Lincoln was standing toward the edge of a cliff, where Morag was right in front of him, trapping him.
"Oh what a pity, nowhere to run." Morag said, happily.
"This isn't the way to get what you want, maybe you could tell everyone you're sorry." Lincoln tried to persuade her.
"Why yes I could, if I were a hare-brained fool! Now give me the crown!" she demanded.
"Never Morag."
"That's duchess to you." Morag said.
"You can have all the crowns in the world, but you'll never be the duchess." Lincoln was getting annoyed with her at this point.
"And you will never be special." Morag evilly told him. "Just plain old, boring Lincoln Loud. Always stuck in your sisters' shadows."
Back to the present:
Lincoln was experiencing these emotions all over again. Part of him wanted to go back to Scotland, but part of him didn't. The traumatic flashbacks inside his head were haunting himself and that there was no way he could escape it.
Before Lincoln could think about anything else, he heard a knocking on his door.
"Hey Lincoln…? You good?", asked Lori.
Lincoln curled his lips, he was so close to just screaming out of frustration.
"Y-yes Lori I'm fine…", lied Lincoln.
Lori opened the door ignoring what Lincoln said. She noticed that Lincoln was slightly shaking while holding the letter tightly in his hand.
"You don't look fine…"
Lincoln forced a smile.
"What do you mean…? I'm perfectly ok", lied Lincoln.
"You seemed scared after reading that letter from Angus", exclaimed Lori.
"Scared?"
Lincoln started to force a laugh out.
"Haha, why would I be scared? That's funnier than Luan's joke!", laughed Lincoln.
"…"
"What"
"You never think Luan's jokes are funny", said Lori.
"Hey who said my jokes weren't funny?"
Lori screamed in surprise.
"Geez Luan! Did Lucy corrupt you or something?", questioned Lori.
"Hahah, that's funny… but no, I just came to check on Lincoln", explained Luan.
"Well he claimed to be fine…"
Lincoln put thumbs up with a noticeably fake smile, and Luan could easily tell.
"Yeah you're not fine Lincoln, spill", demanded Luan.
"Spill what?"
"You know, tell us what's bothering you", suggested Luan.
"No…"
"Why not?"
"Because I don't need help! Nothing is wrong… why can't you guys believe that?", scolded Lincoln.
"Lincoln… is that seriously how you treat people who are trying to help you?", asked Lori.
Lincoln looked down in shame.
"Wait uh… I'm sorry it's just, n-nothing is wrong… n-nothing, is w-w-wrong", stuttered Lincoln.
Lincoln was desperately trying to hold back tears.
"Hey guys, is everything good?", asked Luna who came onto the scene.
"I don't know, something may be wrong with Lincoln", said Lori.
"Oof, that's not good… anyways, have you guys thought about the possibility of going back to Scotland?", asked Luna.
"Well yeah, but Lincoln-"
"Can we not go back to Scotland?", asked Lincoln.
"Why not? You saw the letter, and you read it aloud, don't you want to help save the town like we all did before?"
"Yeah I do but.. it's just-"
"Is this about wanting to feel special?", asked Luna. "Cause you're alr-"
"NO! NO ITS NOT ABOUT THAT!", snapped Lincoln as he breathed to calm down.
"Woah…"
"I've… done things there I regret, I just don't know if I can show my face there again… especially in front of h e r", said Lincoln.
"Lincoln, all the things that happen were the moronic lunatic's fault, not your-"
"No Luna, I was selfish and I let Morag manipulate me… I let the entire town down, I became the duke for myself… you think I want to go back to that?", asked Lincoln.
"Are you scared…?", asked Lucy who startled Luan, Luna and Lori cause she popped up out of nowhere.
"What, no… I just feel a bit guilty about the whole situation", said Lincoln.
"There's nothing to feel guilty about-"
"You guys don't know the full story, I wish I could tell you but… I can't"
"You don't have to keep secrets from us Lincoln", said Lori.
"Yeah, telling secrets is actually really good", said Lucy.
"No I mean… I physically can't, I already tried telling Clyde before and well…", stated Lincoln as he trailed off.
Lincoln wanted to say the things that were bothering him, but he knew he couldn't.
And he couldn't because every time he even thought about it he wanted to scream in rage. He's not mad at Morag, he was upset with himself. Sometimes he even cried to sleep because of it.
And now that Scotland was in danger… Lincoln was so terrified of the possibilities that could potentially happen.
"Lincoln…"
"What…"
"Do you need help…?"
He started shaking, not because he was angry, but because he was overwhelmed by the mix of emotions he was feeling right now.
"No… just, just get out of my room", demanded Lincoln.
"Ok, but we have to talk about going back to Scot"
"I SAID GET OUT!", screamed Lincoln as he noticed the terrified looks on everyone's faces.
Well, Lucy's face was still the same.
Lincoln sighed in defeat.
"I apologize for my outburst, but can you guys please leave me alone so I can just contemplate everything?", asked Lincoln.
"Well, uh… I don't know little bro", said Luna. "I'm extremely concerned for you"
"I get that but, please… this is all so sudden and-"
"I just don't understand why you're so shaken up about all this, usually you're Determined to help the people you care about right? So why are you acting so defensive and hurt about this? And why won't you tell us why?", asked Lori in a Loud voice.
"Because it's more complicated than you guys think, I can't just tell you everything… and, I guess I'm still shaken up about being knocked out with that-…whole thing", hesitated Lincoln.
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that… you have been through a lot", exclaimed Luna.
"We can leave you be for a bit", said Lori. "But I can assure you we will prevent everything that happened before so you don't have to worry!"
"I wish I could worry, unfortunately I'm excited to back to Scotland… at least I can see Lucille again", said Lucy.
"And I wonder why Wednesday is your favorite day of the week Luce", deadpanned Luna. "Anyways, we will see you later Linc"
"Might want to start packing everything up by the way, mom and dad were pretty ongoing about the whole idea of saving Angus… man, that guy deserves better"
As Lori talked, the 4 of them left Lincoln alone. And said boy hit his desk in frustration.
Actually he hit it a bit too hard, he winced and held his hand after doing so.
If only they all knew what Lincoln was dealing with… they think it's so simple for him when it's not. Everyday he prayed and hoped he would not have to live through that experience again. He couldn't even look at the word "Ordinary" or "Special" normally anymore.
He wanted to save everyone in Scotland, but if he was so scared in doing so what was the point?
Wait…
Wait a second…
Lincoln started thinking about something that might help him.
He could use his guilt to his advantage. Everything he felt guilty about, he can redeem himself. If he comes up with an elaborate plan that saves the entire town he wouldn't have to be scared anymore. Yes, he could just picture it now. Everyone cheering for him and completely forgetting his past actions.
Little did he know… he didn't have to do that at all.
Was his fear getting the best of him?
Meanwhile, the rest of the Loud family gathered in the living room to discuss what they were going to do about the whole Scotland thing.
"So guys, your father and I were talking and..." Rita began.
"Angus is right. We have to leave for Scotland ASAP. So we booked the next flight on Saturday morning." Lynn Sr. mentioned.
"Already?" Lynn questioned.
"That's barely enough time to pack!" Luna complained.
"Sorry kids, but if Angus wants us there sooner rather than later, we have to leave early." Lynn Sr. said.
As Lincoln got up out of bed, he went to the stairs and looked at his family. He wanted to overhear the conversation.
"You guys need to start packing immediately." Rita told them.
The kids all groaned in unison.
"Wait a minute..." Lola said. "This isn't a trick, is it?"
"Why would it be?" Luan asked.
"Because Lincoln's been acting so weird ever since he read the letter, you guys are only saying this to try and get him to actually want to go to Scotland, right?" Lola asked.
"Sweetie, I don't know what you're talking about." Rita answered. "We didn't know Lincoln was acting that way."
Little did they know, Lincoln overheard the whole thing.
"How was he feeling?" Lynn Sr asked.
"Well, he was feeling a little worried about going back." Lori explained. "When we tried to figure out what was wrong with him, he started yelling at us and told us to leave him alone."
"That's weird, let's go talk to him." Rita said.
"No!" Lincoln suddenly came in.
Everyone looked at him like he was the last person in the world.
"Are you okay?" Lucy asked.
"We heard what's going on and wanted to make sure you're feeling alright." Lana told him.
"You guys..."
"Sweetie, we want to make you feel better."
"Tell us how you feel right now."
"Ummm..." Lincoln tried to explain himself but no one would listen.
"Come on, Linky."
"We're here for you."
"Ughhhhhhh!" Lincoln groaned. He ran back upstairs to his room and grabbed his diary.
"My family is either messing with my life or actually trying to make me go back to Scotland. I need to escape immediately. Why can't they just understand that I'm fine and that I don't need all this help?"
He closed his diary and kept it safe with him. He suddenly heard his computer ring, he opened it and it was Angus. He answered it.
"Hey." Lincoln said to him.
"We need you to come to Scotland immediately!" Angus demanded.
"How many times do I have to tell you? I'm not coming back."
"But we need you!"
"Are you sure you REALLY need me back there?"
"Of course we do! Morag is destroying the city! Everyone, including the ancestors, want you back!"
"And?"
"I'm begging you. Please!"
Lincoln thought about it for a while.
"Ugh. Fine."
"Yes! Oh thank you so much. You have no idea what a huge help you'll be!" Angus said.
"Yes, thank you. Bye now."
As Lincoln opened the door, he saw all 10 of his sisters and parents with their eyes wide open.
"You guys were eavesdropping?!" Lincoln was surprised.
"We just wanted to make sure you were okay!" Rita told him.
"How'd you know anyway?" Lincoln said. "I mean, I'm fine. Totally fine."
"I'm glad you finally decided to go to Scotland." Leni said.
"Totally. Without you elder brother, who knows what serious pain we would've been into." Lisa told him.
"We leave Saturday." Lynn mentioned.
"What? That's in one and a half days!" Lincoln complained.
"Angus wants us there as soon as possible." Luan said.
"You guys better start packing right now. Who knows how long we'll be gone?" Lynn Sr said.
As the sister and parents left to start packing, Lincoln took all his most prized possessions with him. Bun-Bun, his diary, his scrapbook his sisters made, his video games, everything. Just in case their last few days were going to be spent there.
The next day, the Louds were finally finished packing. It was almost bedtime, Lincoln prepared to go to bed but heard a knock on his door.
"Knock knock."
"Who's there?" Lincoln asked.
"Leni."
"Leni who?"
"Just Leni. Can I come in?"
"Yes! Yes you may!"
"Hey Linky." Leni said. "Whatcha doin?"
"Going to bed. Why?"
"Can I talk to you?"
"Of course. But make it quick, please."
"This may take longer than expected. But here goes nothing. So, you know my long distance boyfriend who I met last time we went to Scotland?"
Hearing that made Lincoln's heart beat faster than normal.
"No! Please stop!"
"Is everything ok?" Leni wondered.
"Oh never mind. Keep talking."
"Can I tell you a secret? He and I broke up a couple of months ago because we couldn't make our relationship work if we're thousands of miles away." Leni explained. "I'm nervous to go back, cause the thought of seeing him again will make it feel so awkward between the two of us."
"Maybe he moved on?" Lincoln wondered.
"I have another secret. I'll only tell you if you tell me what's going on with you." Leni told him.
"Ummmm...I'd rather keep it to myself for now." Lincoln admitted.
"Fine then." Leni said. "I knew you weren't the right person for this. Especially cause I told you before I told Lori, and I always tell her all my boy problems."
"Sorry Leni. I'm going through so much right now." Lincoln apologized.
"It's ok. I understand. Good night Linky."
"Good night Leni."
Lincoln was feeling torn at this point. Should he have told Leni? Even though she is super close to him and he likes telling her everything, she's known for accidentally revealing secrets. And Lincoln did not want the rest of his family finding out that the last vacation was a nightmare and not actually a fun experience. He did not want his secret to get out. The memories have stuck with him forever, and he cannot escape the terrible feeling of what was happening at the time. The pain from feeling overshadowed by his sisters, being hated by the town, destroying the town, and almost getting killed by Morag. Lincoln tried to fall asleep, at least for now...
The nightmares wouldn't go away. One after another, they kept coming back to not only haunt him, but to also remind him that when he goes back to Scotland the next day, he will have a bad time.
Flashback to the movie:
Lincoln, as the duke, was riding Lela who was going out of control. Lincoln tried to get her to stop, but she wouldn't. She was under Morag's power.
Lincoln tried to fix the town, but it got destroyed due to all the damage. The citizens of Loch Loud were mad with him, and this crushed Lincoln's heart deeply.
"Get out!"
"Look what you've done!"
"Some kind of duke you are!"
Lincoln broke down into tears and started running away.
Later...
Lincoln was laying down on his bed, still heartbroken. The town was still hating on him, and this made Lincoln give up his position as the duke.
"I don't deserve to be the duke." he cried. He looked at his family with puppy eyes. "Can we go home now?"
Back to the present:
Lincoln was trembling in fear. They wouldn't go away. No matter how hard he tried to forget about them.
He woke up, and couldn't fall asleep from that point. And he had to wake up at 4am for the 6am flight to Scotland. He tried to fall asleep peacefully. He did the only thing he could do to help him fall asleep, hide under his blanket for the rest of the night.
At 4am, Lincoln barely got any sleep, and went to brush his teeth. He put on his clothes and didn't even eat any breakfast. Since he was so tired, he laid down on the bed and prayed for the vacation to go well. He was scared to go back.
"Ok fam! Are we ready to go?" Lynn Sr asked everyone.
Everyone, except Lincoln, nodded in agreement.
"Wait!" Lisa said. She ran upstairs. Todd came along with her, and held a suitcase.
"I am ready." Todd told him.
"Ok, well now we have to buy an extra ticket. Hopefully they allow robots on the plane." Rita joked.
"Why are you taking him?" Lori asked.
"We don't know how long we will be gone, and I can't leave my robots alone. So I'm bringing Todd with me so he won't be lonely. Cause if he is, then bad things will happen." Lisa explained. "Mr. Reinforced Titanium Alloy Arms and FriendBot 1000 will also be coming along." At that moment, they showed up holding suitcases. Rita and Lynn Sr sighed.
"Can we please just go?" Lincoln asked.
"We thought you didn't want to go." Lola said.
"Yeah, what's up?" Luna wondered.
"Let's just go." Lincoln tried to act normal.
Todd drove the family in vanzilla to the airport. It was packed with their luggage, and since there were 16 people in the car, it was cramped in there. The ride to the airport was successful, however.
Airport security was rough. It took a long time for each person, including Lisa's robots, to make it through. The family was rushing through, because they did not want to miss their flight. Thankfully, unlike last time, they were able to get actual seats in the plane. They went to the terminal and waited there. Lincoln was still nervous. Even though they wouldn't get to Scotland until late at night, there was a lot that they were going to be prepared for.
"Round trip to Scotland is now ready to board at gate 8"
"Oh guys that's us", said Rita as she ushered everyone to get up.
Lincoln was now sweating and nervous as ever. This was it, after the plane ride and a boat to loch Loud, all of his haunting memories will overwhelm him and it may result in a panic attack.
Some stuff at school managed to trigger him, Lincoln one time bursted ran into the bathroom screaming in his head because Chandler said the word "Ordinary". So now that Lincoln was actually going back he was absolutely petrified.
"Come on Lincoln stop being a slow poke and hurry up!", complained Lola.
"Lola that's not how you treat your brother", scolded Lynn Sr. "But son you may want to speed things up a bit"
"O-ok…"
"Are you alright there?"
"Y-yeah… let's j-just go"
Lincoln dragged his suitcase and was sulking the entire way to the gate. Every step he took felt like a thousand years pang into his chest.
He really didn't want to go back to Scotland. But he also did want angus to get hurt. And he was willing to sacrifice his trauma to save innocent lives. Especially to someone like Angus…
Before he knew it, they were all in front of gate. One by one each person dropped off their suitcase and went to enter the gate.
This is when Lincoln froze in fear, he saw something and all he could do we was stare at it.
"New and improved special socks. No longer your dumb old Ordinary unremarkable boring socks that always ripped when using. Time to throw away the old ones cause those Ordinary socks are useless"
They just may be socks, but Lincoln felt like that poster described him perfectly.
And the worst part was, he couldn't tell anyone. Even if he could they would most likely laugh at him for relating to a sock.
"Hey Lincoln…"
No response
"Lincoln"
"…"
"Lincoln!"
Lincoln finally snapped out of his trance and looked at his mother who was calling his name.
"Uh y-yeah…?"
"I have something to tell you, unfortunately since we are a big family we couldn't get everyone to sit next to each other, you'll be sitting with these 2 kids… is that ok?", asked Rita.
"Uhm… yeah, I guess that's fine", replied Lincoln.
"Great, now let's get on… Lily is being a bit cranky and I want her to take a nap", said Rita as she grabbed Lincoln's arm.
The white hair boy was being dragged onto the plane, and that's when he realized he forgot to drop off his suitcase.
"Wait mom, my suitcase!", shouted Lincoln.
"Ugh Lincoln it's too late now-"
"No it's not I can still make it-"
"Just come on Linc we can find an alternative solution", suggested Rita.
Lincoln grumbled in annoyance, he couldn't run away now…
Eventually, the 2 of them followed the rest of the family into the plane and this is when they had to part ways.
"Ok lincoln, if you need anything I'll be right over here", said Rita as she pointed to first class.
"Hey wait a minute, why does everyone get to sit in first class except me?", asked Lincoln.
"There simply weren't enough, don't worry I'm sure the economy will be just as good"
"But it's n-"
Lily began to complain.
"Sorry Lincoln I have to go, see ya when we land", waved Rita as she left.
Lincoln sighed and turned around to see a flight attendant.
"I'm sorry kid but you're going to have to take your seat now", said the flight attendant.
"I don't even know where my seat is… and I don't even know what to do with my suitcase", exclaimed Lincoln.
"You can put your suitcase in the shelf up top there's an empty seat next to these two girls", pointed the flight attendant.
Lincoln glanced at where she pointed and it seems that there were two people having a deep conversation. The flight attendant said their names were Maddie and Reyna and were going to Scotland to do some sightseeing.
"Ok…"
Lincoln began to stroll over there and as he did he began to hear their conversation.
"I'm about to give up on this muffin", said Maddie.
"If you can't eat it just save it for later or smt", suggested Reyna.
Maddie wrapped up the muffin and put it away.
"Tbh it makes me sick… one time I wanted to buy smth for breakfast at school but all they had was muffins and I was like no thanks so instead I ended up buying cookies", explained Reyna.
"That's me with donuts, donuts make me want to puke sometimes", exclaimed Maddie as they made a face.
"We're opposites", stated Reyna.
"Yes, I just don't get too excited about donuts", said Maddie.
"I love donuts and bagels are good too", exclaimed Reyna.
Maddie nodded her head in agreement.
"But bagels are better", said Maddie.
"What? No they are not", said Reyna. "Donuts are top tier, way better than bagels"
"Donuts are disgusting cause it's just straight up sugar!", shouted Maddie.
"Nah, that's what makes them good", said Reyna.
"Bruh no"
"Bruh yes"
"Hey look that kid is coming to us", said Maddie as she looked at Lincoln.
"Hey let's ask him what he thinks", suggested Reyna.
"Good idea…"
"HEY KID WITH WHITE HAIR AND WORRIED LOOK ON HIS FACE!" Maddie yelled.
Lincoln jumped up in fright as he looked at Maddie and Reyna.
He thought that's where he had to sit considering the fact that there was an empty seat.
"Uh… w-what do you guys w-want?", stuttered Lincoln.
"Which is better, donuts or bagels?" Reyna asked.
Lincoln was perplexed from that question. It's literally the most random thing to ask on this planet.
Objectively he liked-
"People that are on the plane… please sit down, now… or stand if you want to get hurt, I don't really care it's not my problem… but you have to buckle or seatbelt, or don't again it's not really up to me", announced a guy on the radio in a very lazily way. "Oh hey Will what are y- WILLIAM GIVE MY PRETZELS BACK! GET BACK HERE! AHHH-"
Everyone converted their ears at that ear piercing scream on the Loud speaker.
Not long after that announcement a boy with brown hair shaped like a bowl was running with a bag of pretzels while being chased by a tall guy with the name "Mike" pinned to his shirt. This causes Lincoln to be pushed into the seat. He screamed in fright as he painfully fell onto the seat right next to Maddie.
"Uh… you good?-" she asked.
Lincoln snapped.
"Does it look like I'm ok?", snapped Lincoln.
Maddie just looked at him like 0-0 and Reyna was like ._.
"S-sorry I'm just… I'm just really stressed right now", exclaimed Lincoln.
"Why…?" Reyna wondered.
"It's a secret..." Lincoln muttered.
"A secret?" Maddie suddenly got super excited. "Tell me!"
"Well, my family and I are going to Scotland..." Lincoln began.
"I don't get why that's such a problem." Reyna said.
"And last time we went, which was last summer, bad things happened that have haunted me forever. I became the Duke of my ancestors' homeland, and I tried to make things work. But I couldn't. An evil witch tried to manipulate me into being my friend and caused me to destroy the town while I was riding a dragon. The town hated me and I was crushed. All I wanted was to be special like my sisters."
"Come on kid, cheer up." Reyna gave him a pat on the back.
"I'm sure things will turn out better." Maddie encouraged.
"There's more to it. The witch almost killed me. I was trying to steal the crown from her, but she knocked me out unconscious and I almost fell of a cliff."
Reyna and Maddie almost started tearing up once they heard that.
"I'm so scared to go back." Lincoln said.
"I never knew witches actually existed." Maddie joked.
"Dragons and witches exist? What kind of world do we live in?" Reyna questioned.
Lincoln looked at them.
"Oh, sorry." Reyna replied.
"I just wanted to be special like my sisters. Because after years of being in their shadows, I finally wanted my chance to shine." Lincoln continued.
"I'm sure they will forgive you." Maddie told him.
"They already did. But they're only making my life worse by bringing back those thoughts."
"Don't worry about them. Just make the most of your vacation." Reyna encouraged him.
"We're not going on vacation. Our friend needs us there to take down the witch."
"Can we help?" Maddie asked.
Reyna and Lincoln looked at her like she was out of her mind.
"Sorry, I've always wanted to battle a real monster before." Maddie cheered. "It looks epic."
"Not really. Last time we went, I almost died." Lincoln admitted.
"I'm glad you survived." Reyna said. "How did you survive anyway?"
"The dragon came by and saved my baby sister and I, and we flew back safely." Lincoln explained.
"So the whole thing you're worried about is remembering these bad moments that are coming back to torment you?" Reyna asked.
"Yes...but I don't want my family to find out."
"I think I know what's going on with you." Maddie said.
"Tell me!" Lincoln told her.
Maddie cleared her throat. "So you're still thinking about these bad experiences that happened last time you went to Scotland, and that it's basically getting in the way of your everyday life even though you're trying to ignore it?"
"Yeah..."
"You have PTSD. Or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder." Maddie mentioned.
"What? That can't happen to me!"
"She's right." Reyna said. "From everything you just told us, it certainly seems like it."
"Wow, I never realized." Lincoln was about to cry.
"Don't cry." Reyna said as she gave him a hug.
"You'll be fine. Just try to think of happier things in your life!" Maddie suggested. "What was a happy thing you can easily remember?"
"My sisters gave me a private concert from SMOOCH, my favorite rock band." Lincoln said.
"OMG! You're a SMOOCH fan? I am too!" Reyna cheered.
"Also, one time my sisters and I went camping together."
"See? You are special." Maddie said. "Your sisters love you. Your parents do too. There's no need to feel overshadowed by them."
"Thanks." Lincoln thanked her.
"Everything will be alright." Reyna told him. "Even though we just met, you seem like a really nice kid."
"Don't worry about those bad nightmares. Try to have fun taking down that evil witch, uhhhhhh, what's her name?" Maddie asked.
"Morag." Lincoln answered.
"What kind of name is that?" Reyna asked, looking confused.
"Doesn't matter. But she is so wicked she went out of her way to try and get me killed. She even had my sisters perform in front of everyone in the town to get me to experience the feeling of being overshadowed all over again." Lincoln explained.
"Wow, she sounds really evil." Maddie said.
"I don't want to talk about this anymore. Just talking about it keeps bringing back those bad thoughts." Lincoln told her.
"Okay, we'll move on." Reyna said.
"So...you must have a lot of sisters." Maddie told him.
"Yeah, I have ten. Their names are Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn, Lucy, Lana, Lola, Lisa and Lily. And I'm the middle child."
"Wow, I don't think I'm gonna remember that." Reyna was surprised.
"It must be fun to have a lot of people in your family!" Maddie said. "Does it ever bother you that you're the only boy?"
"Not really." Lincoln answered. "It's way better than having ten brothers. I had a nightmare about that before, and trust me, it's not fun."
"Also, why is your hair white?" Reyna asked, curiously.
"Genetics, duh." Lincoln replied.
"Is it natural? Or did you dye it for whatever reason?" Maddie asked.
"It's natural. I inherited it from my grandfather."
"It looks really nice." Reyna complimented.
"Thanks."
They spent the rest of the flight getting to know each other. Reyna was a huge music fan who liked playing volleyball and was a tomboy. She attended a private school for only girls but she also has more of a feminine side as well. Maddie enjoyed drawing and making animations, as well as she had a huge passion for writing. She was a little crazy, but also super nice. Lincoln did not seem so worried anymore about going back to Scotland, thanks to these two girls. They seemed really welcoming, and also very friendly.
It was almost 10pm when they fell asleep. They were going to arrive in Scotland in about a couple of hours. Lincoln had a dream, and it was very happy. He was with his two new friends, and a bunch of puppies. They were all happy, playing around, and cuddling with the three of them. It made Lincoln super happy and relaxed, and it reminded him that there was nothing to worry about.
By the time it was morning, they heard an announcement:
"Hello everyone. This is your captain speaking. We are about to land in Scotland. We should be arriving within the next 30 minutes. Please prepare yourself."
"We're almost there already?" Lincoln asked.
"It went by pretty quick." Reyna said.
"Why are you guys going to Scotland anyway?" Lincoln wondered.
"Oh, just to look around. Also because of the food." Maddie joked.
"Maddie loves food. She will eat almost anything. One time, she tried pineapple on pizza." Reyna told him. "She even put hot sauce on it."
Lincoln looked at Maddie like she was standing on the edge of a volcano.
"It was so good!" she commented.
"Yeah, you should see my sister Lana. One time she ate worms, and even a spider."
"Ewwwwwww!" Reyna and Maddie said in disgust.
"Yeah, my family's pretty weird." Lincoln joked. "But we're also descendants of Scottish royalty!"
"You what?" Maddie was shocked.
"Of course we are. I wish I could tell you the whole story, but it's a lot to mention." Lincoln said.
"Lincoln!" He heard a familiar voice. It was Todd.
"Todd? What are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to make sure you were ok." he answered.
Maddie and Reyna were whispering to each other.
"You see this too right?"
"A talking robot? Yeah I see it."
"Well I'm fine. We're almost about to arrive!" Lincoln cheered.
"That's good to hear. I have something for you." Todd handed Lincoln a cookie.
"It is from Lisa. Just to help you feel better."
"Wow, thanks Todd!" Lincoln was amazed.
"No problem. Hello humans!" he said to Maddie and Reyna.
"Hi..." they said.
"Can you dance?" Maddie wondered.
"Of course. Hit the music." He started playing music and began dancing. Maddie and Reyna were amazed. When he stopped, they were cheering.
"Wow Todd! You're so cool!" Reyna complimented him.
"What else can you do?" Maddie asked him.
"Everything a human can do." Todd answered. "However, I must be getting back to Lisa. She is starting to worry about me."
"Bye Todd!" Maddie said.
"How does your sister create a robot who can act like a human?" Reyna asked Lincoln.
"Cause she's a genius, duh." he answered.
After he said that, another announcement came on.
"This is your captain speaking. We have now arrived in the country of Scotland. Please enjoy your stay!"
Lincoln and his two new friends got up out of their seats.
"Well this was very fun." Lincoln said. "Catch you guys soon!"
"Bye!" Maddie and Reyna waved goodbye to Lincoln, but they actually caught up to him. They didn't want to leave him.
"I'm still worried about him." Reyna told Maddie.
"Let's go make sure he's ok now that we've landed!" Maddie thought.
"But wait, we don't want to bother him!" Shouted Reyna.
"You're right we don't… maybe we should just keep an eye on him from a distance", said Maddie.
"Isn't that a little creepy?", questioned Reyna.
"Yeah but it's for the best", exclaimed Maddie.
"You're right…"
Meanwhile Lincoln was walking around looking for his family. Since they were in a different class they all had gotten off before him.
"Hey Lincoln over here!", shouted a familiar voice that sounded like Leni.
Lincoln heard her and immediately ran over to his family while they were grabbing their suitcase.
"Hi guys!", greeted Lincoln.
"Oh you're in a good mood", said Lori.
"Well I had a good plane ride, I met these super cool kids that were telling me everything!", shouted Lincoln. "Now im really looking forward to saving Angus and everyone else"
"That's nice honey", said Rita. "Remember we still have to get on the ship cause Loch Loud is an isolated island"
"We know mom, that ship is so fancy so of course I would remember it", exclaimed Lola.
After a bit, everyone had their suitcases except one person.
"Wait a second… where's my suitcase?", shouted Lincoln in worry.
"I don't know didnt you bring it onto the plane?", asked Rita.
"Yes- oh no! I must've forgot it on the plane!"
Lincoln was almost panicking because he had a lot of important things in there. Especially his stuffed rabbit bun bun. That thing was especially important to him.
"Yo look Lincoln looks upset", said Reyna.
"Yeah I wonder why… wait a second he doesn't have his suitcase", exclaimed Maddie.
"That's why I brought it with me", said Reyna as she revealed it.
"Reyna! You're a hero! Let's give this back to Lincoln", said Maddie.
Reyna and Maddie walked over to Lincoln.
"Hey Lincoln is ok w-"
"Hi Lincoln, we brought you your suitcase", said Maddie.
Lincoln looked at Reyna and Maddie in relief.
"Oh thanks guys… yo really saved me"
"Lincoln are these the people you say with on the plane?", asked Lana.
"Yeah, Reyna and Maddie… they are really nice", exclaimed Lincoln.
"Yep, we are just glad to help! We just wish you luck on your intense journey, even though you have-"
"Don't finish that sentence", demanded Lincoln.
"Oh… right, anyways me and Reyna are going to get coffee and Bagels", said Maddie.
"Coffee an s", clarified Reyna.
"No bagels" said Maddie.
"No donuts" Reyna argued.
"Bagels!"
"Donuts!"
"Bagels you mother f-"
And that's when they walked off. Leaving Lincoln and the rest of his family behind.
"Well… that was strange", said Lori.
"Yeah… are we ready to go now?", asked Lynn Sr.
"I-I'm ready… well, I'm still not but, I'm ok with going now", said Lincoln.
"Ok… let's leave the airport and get on the ship", said Rita.
"To see… the destruction, let's hope no one is hurt", stated Lucy.
"I'm surprised you said that Luce", stated Luna.
"Yeah well, I don't want to plan any funerals for people that I care about", exclaimed Lucy.
"That's kind of surprising but thanks", thanked Lori.
"But why are you thinking this all of a sudden?", asked Lynn.
"After what happened last time, I thought I was going to be planning a funeral for Lincoln, when we all ran in I thought… I thought Lincoln was dead", explained Lucy.
Lincoln's pupils constricted in shock as he heard Lucy say that.
Him… dead?
...
"Let's not mention that Lucy", stated Rita as she noticed Lincoln's shocked face.
"Y-yeah… but, no one is going to die r-right?", asked Lincoln while stuttering.
"No, bro… Lucy is overreacting", said Luna as her lips curled.
Little did Lincoln know, Luna thought the same thing. Everyone thought that Lincoln was dead upon arriving that dreadful scene…
Without saying another word everyone left the airport in a rush and had gotten a taxi to be taken to "sunnystair lake" where they would get on the ship to get to the town they need to save.
They shortly arrived after and there waiting for them was the massive ship called "Loudster".
Everyone boarded the ship and they prepared to sail off. Lincoln was just contemplating everything that was about to happen.
"How long till we get there?" he asked.
"Not for a few hours." Lynn Sr answered.
"Phew."
"Wait, a few hours?" Lori asked.
"This is one of the biggest lakes in Scotland. It takes a while to get to different places." Rita explained.
Lincoln could not stop thinking about what Lucy said at the airport. Did his family seriously think he was dead when he was knocked unconscious for 26 seconds? This got him even more worried that what they thought last time would actually happen.
"Hey, look in the lake!" Lola told everybody.
"There's a dolphin!" Lynn exclaimed.
"Who knew there were dolphins in the lake?" Luan questioned.
"That's not a dolphin..." Lori said after looking closely.
"Then what is it?" Lola asked.
"It's..."
It appeared to be something strangely looking that was moving in the water. Suddenly, it swam away.
"If it's not a dolphin, then what was that?" Lana asked.
"I guess we'll never know..." Lori said.
"Does anyone have food, I'm starving!" Lynn complained.
"Let's see..." Rita said as she looked through her bag. "We have slices of bread, cookies, a juicebox, some of your dad's Mac and cheese bites, as well as some of his lynnsagna..."
"Ughhhh," the kids complained.
"Actually, I'll have a mac and cheese bite." Lincoln said. He looked for one in the bag, but there was none left.
"Oh god, not again." he thought to himself.
"Who ate all the mac and cheese bites?" None of the sisters looked suspicious in any way.
"Well, did either one of you eat them mom or dad?" They didn't answer.
"Then who did?" Lincoln asked. That's when he heard some giggling coming from under the sack in the back of the boat. He opened it, and...
"How did you guys get here?" Lincoln asked.
It was revealed to be Reyna and Maddie. "We snuck on when you weren't looking." Reyna told him.
"I appreciate that, but why?"
"Cause we're here to protect you." Maddie answered.
"I don't need your help. I feel confident enough to survive."
"Well you heard him." Reyna told Maddie. "He already doesn't need us anymore."
"No! Please stay!" Lincoln begged.
"We promise we won't follow you everywhere." Maddie said.
"Guys, I'm worried." Lincoln said to them.
"Don't be. We got your back." Reyna patted him on the back.
"When we get there, I know for sure my PTSD is going to be triggered once I see everything. Just looking at them brings back terrible memories. I can't escape from those. Ever." Lincoln explained.
"Linky! I brought you a bottle of water!" Leni said as she was about to come in the room. However, Lincoln didn't hear him.
"I don't know what to do. I can't tell my family that going back to Scotland is going to make my life miserable again. Feeling overshadowed, the struggles of being the duke, being hated by everyone, only caring about myself, there's no way I can ever forgive myself for that. It's like I'm fighting my own battles in my head. As soon as I heard we were coming back here, I immediately wanted to cry. My mind is haunted by those experiences and I can never come back from it."
Leni, who just overheard everything that Lincoln said, started to worry a little bit. She walked away and began to think to herself.
"Don't worry." Maddie said. "As long as your family doesn't find out, you'll be okay."
"We can't be with you the whole time, but just know that we'll be praying for you." Reyna chimed in.
"Thanks guys." Lincoln thanked them.
"Besides, what's the worst that can happen? At least you didn't die." Maddie cheered him up.
Hearing that triggered the memories again from the airport.
Back to the present:
"I'd rather not talk about that..." Lincoln muttered. "My sister Lucy actually thought I was dead last time we went."
"Well, just pray that nothing bad happens to you." Maddie told him. "Besides, if you're lucky enough to survive, you'll have nothing to worry about."
"Well thank you." Lincoln said to her sarcastically. "Especially cause last year when I was trapped by Morag I was standing on the edge of a cliff when I almost fell off."
"You'll be fine!" Reyna said to him. "Stop thinking about that!"
"My sister Lucy actually planned my funeral in case I y-know, died."
"For heavens sake will you stop thinking about it?" Maddie almost raised her voice at him.
"Fine, I will."
"Here, I know a strategy that will help you." Reyna said to Lincoln.
"What is it?" he asked.
"Close your eyes." As she said that, he closed them.
"Now, think about something that makes you happy. What was the happiest moment in your life?"
"The SMOOCH concert." Lincoln answered.
"Think about it and relive that moment."
Lincoln tried so hard to think about it, but then he heard something else. It was the sound of a wave crashing.
That sound reminded Lincoln of when he and his family went on a boat trip and got stranded on the deserted island. They got sucked into a whirlpool, were stuck there for a couple of days, and had a hard time returning to dry land. The boat almost tipped over, and Lincoln almost fell off.
"Woah!" Lincoln said as he started to almost fall out of the boat.
"Are you ok?" Maddie asked him.
"Yes, I'm fine." he answered. "I'm going to go inside."
"He walked in only to find Leni sitting down with a worried look on her face. Once Lincoln walked into the room, she looked at him.
"Everything ok?" Lincoln asked her.
"Now, don't get mad at me or anything but...I heard everything you were telling your friends about."
"You what?" Lincoln was very mad that she eavesdropped on him. "I can't believe you right now!"
"I'm sorry, but I wanted to bring you a bottle of water, but then I heard everything and I started to feel bad for you." Leni explained. "Why didn't you tell me you were going through that?"
"I didn't want to because...I was worried you'd tell my secret to everyone. I don't trust you-I mean I was embarrassed to tell anyone." Lincoln admitted.
"Can you tell me? I promise I won't tell anyone."
"But..."
"I swear on my life I won't tell anyone. You can trust me." Leni hugged him.
Lincoln thought about it for a moment, and then finally said "Ok, fine."
He began to tell the story, and Leni almost teared up after everything he just said. He mentioned everything.
"Oh I'm so sorry Linky." she gave him a hug. "I had no idea you were going through all this."
"Last summer was a nightmare. I cannot recover from it, and I can't forgive myself for what I did."
"Don't worry Lincoln. Your secret is safe with me." Leni hugged him.
"Please keep it a secret. I know you have a habit to spill other peoples' secrets." Lincoln told her.
"I will. Don't worry too much." she said.
"Thank you so much."
"No problem, Linky."
As Lincoln left, he went outside to look at the beautiful view with Reyna and Maddie.
"That cloud looks like a flower." Reyna noticed.
"The one next to it looks like an apple." Maddie said.
As they were looking at the clouds, Lincoln heard the sound of waves crashing and this brought back that terrifying feeling. Not being stranded on the deserted island, but the feeling of drowning all of a sudden. Usually, the sound was peaceful, but to him, it seemed like a warning as to what was about to happen to him. But since they were in a lake, there was no need for Lincoln to worry too much. But he couldn't stop.
He started to have a vision where he actually fell into the middle of the lake and started drowning. And nobody realized he was actually missing. Even though he was able to swim back to the surface, he was in serious danger.
Now that Leni knows his secret, that made him worry even more. She told him to trust her. And he did. But part of him did not like admitting the truth. Even though he was very honest.
Could a little white lie have done the trick? Lincoln hates lying, but in this situation it would have worked. This mental health issue deserved to be kept a secret.
"Guys..." Lincoln said to Maddie and Reyna. "Is it ok if I be left alone for a little bit?"
"Of course." they said as they walked off and let him be.
Lincoln stood on the boat, staring at the sunlight. It was shining on him like he was finally in the spotlight. He started to imagine his future...
Lincoln's Funeral:
Lincoln Albert Loud: 200X-20XX
His grave said: "He was never the same once he got there, and one vacation haunted him forever."
"Today we remember my only brother Lincoln Loud, who lived to be only 12 years old. We went to Scotland to visit a friend of ours, the homeland of where our ancestors lived, and once we got there, guilt, regret, and fear came into his mind which led him to his death. He had never gotten over what happened the summer of 2016, when he was the Duke of Loch Loud. He will be truly missed, and we shall remember all the memories we shared with him, as well as the love we shared." Lucy said, leading the funeral.
All of Lincoln's family and friends were in attendance. They were all in deep grief and depression as they honored him.
Back to the present:
Lincoln was on the verge of crying. He just imagined his own funeral. He couldn't see life the same anymore. Realizing that was all just a bad nightmare, he tried to escape his mind. It felt like he was in another world.
At this point, he was feeling worse than ever before, and knowing that they were almost in Scotland, this led him to be in more pain than ever before.
How can he escape the trauma? Was he going to feel this way for the entire trip?
He sat in silence and said to himself:
"Please have this all be over soon. Sometimes people change. And I think that these will be my last few days of life. I hope that I can just be a good friend to Angus and a good brother to my sisters. I want to experience life again where I wasn't going through PTSD."
He crossed himself and hoped that this would all be over soon. He missed the person he used to be. The person he was before going to Scotland. The real Lincoln Loud. The man with the plan. The energetic boy who loved to make the most of life. The boy who's dream was to live in a world free of evil and full of happiness and love. But that's not the case right now. He was no longer Lincoln Loud. He was not the same person he was a year ago.
The ship creaked and turned again. They had gone over another wave. This just worried the boy even more.
The ship sailed over a wave. Lincoln had gotten up and looked at the trashing water. The waves were now big enough to get onto the ship.
Was it storming? It wasn't raining or anything but the sky looked extremely dark.
The ship creaked and turned even more. Waves heavily splashing.
"Man these waves are crazy today"
That was Lynn, Lincoln heard her in the distance.
The traumatized boy held on to the side of the ship. He was scared, determined to save Scotland… but still scared.
Splash…
Creak…
Lincoln was staring at the water. And he saw a reflection of himself.
It wasn't his Ordinary self however, he saw himself in his duke outfit.
He grabbed onto the wood even tighter, this time in frustration.
All he did was try to be special and this is what has happened cause of him.
He had to redeem himself…
Or maybe… he, maybe… he should just-
BAM!
A massive wave just hit the ship and loads of water collapsed on board. The force was so strong that Lincoln couldn't hold on. He lost his grip and as he was trying to get his balance he slipped.
With a ear piercing scream he fell off the boat and pummeled straight into the water.
"Wait, guys that sounded like Lincoln…", said Lynn.
"GUYS!"
"What is it?"
"LINCOLN FELL INTO THE WATER!", screamed Reyna.
"OH NO"
"Mom stop the ship!", shouted Luna.
Rita went to the anchor and twisted the thing to put it down. Meanwhile Lynn was running the back of the ship to look for Lincoln.
All she could see was a hand sticking out of the water failing. Lincoln was trying to stay above the water but he was failing due to the heavy waves.
"HANG ON LITTLE BRO!"
Lynn dove into the water and swam to Lincoln as fast as she could. She struggled to keep her eyes open because of the saltwater but her eyes didn't matter in this moment. She was just focused on saving Lincoln.
Lincoln's lungs were filling up with water as he was choking. He was about to…
Lynn grabbed Lincoln by the arm and pulled him up. She used her strength to swim back to the boat as Lincoln was desperately trying to gasp for air.
"Hang on bro you'll be safe if you just hold on", said Lynn as she kept swimming.
Maddie and Reyna just watched the scene unfold before them in shock. Soon after everyone else ran up to view the horrific scene.
Lynn swiftly swam closer and closer to the boat, until they were both at the ladder.
Lynn began to climb and hoisted Lincoln up. With the remaining strength she had left over she lifted Lincoln as hard as she could. Until the boy was fully on the boat.
"Lincoln! Thank goodness you're ok!"
He couldn't even say anything, he began choking up water that was filling up his lungs. Lynn just walked to a pillar and sat down in front of it breathing in exhaustion.
"Lincoln are you ok?", asked Leni.
No response, Lincoln just sat there in his hands and knees shaking in fright while water was still dripping off his now soaked hair.
"Lincoln…?"
"I… -cough- I…"
He tried to catch his breath before letting out a few more coughs. After he did so he looked at Lynn.
He had a horrible and dreadful thought, like… maybe Lynn shouldn't of saved him.
"W-why did you save me L-Lynn?", asked Lincoln while still breathing heavily.
"I did what I had t-to do", said Lynn. "I don't want my little bro to die"
This angered Lincoln for some reason.
"Lynn, did you also think I was dead when I was knocked out?", asked Lincoln.
"Y-yeah… that moment scared me"
"Then why didn't you do anything?", asked Lincoln as he wearily got up.
"Because Morag cornered us! Please Lincoln that's all in the past, you're alive and well now and I saved you", explained Lynn.
Lincoln tightened his fists as he focused on his terrible thought. He wanted to shout at Lynn what he was thinking, but that would be a terrible mistake. He really didn't want to go to therapy.
So he sighed in defeat and fixed his hair.
"Are you good?"
"I don't know anymore to be honest Luna, I guess even though I want to save Scotland I'm still terrified of what happened with Morag", explained Lincoln
"And with what I did", thought Lincoln.
"You don't have to w-"
"But I do have to worry Lana! … … Let's just try to defeat the moronic lunatic", sighed Lincoln.
And so I can prove to myself that I am not selfish, and everything I did last year is forgiven because I'm the one who came up with the plan to defeat Morag.
Wait… that's perfect
But how would I do it without triggering myself?
Rita started the ship again as she lifted the anchor out of the water.
"Hey guys looks it snowing!", shouted Leni in excitement.
Oddly enough, small white little flurries were falling down a black filled sky.
"Snowing? It seems a little hot to be snowing", said Luna.
"That's because It's not snow", stated Lisa.
"If it's not snow that what could it be?", asked Lana. "It really does look like snow"
"Ugh it's getting all over my dress!", shouted Lola in frustration.
"Quite down sweetie"
Lincoln squinted his eyes in suspicion, he saw something strange in the distance.
It looked like… something like a tornado. Except it was moving upwards with blackness. As orange was moving below it.
There was not one but m u l t i p l e "tornadoes".
"Does anyone else see that?", asked Lincoln.
"See wha- oh wow"
"That looks really beautiful!", shouted Leni.
"Yeah… but what is it?", asked Lori.
"Kind of looks like, a rock band or smt", said Luna.
"Rock band?"
"Yeah… the stage usually looks like that after we are done", exclaimed Luna.
"Then that's concerning", announced Lincoln as there a tone of immediate fear in his voice.
He had figured out what they were seeing, and it became more clear as they got closer.
"Why is that?"
Lincoln felt sick to his stomach, the thought of this was terrible and he was struggling to look at it.
Some part of him figured it was his fault…
"What's going on Linc?", asked Lynn.
"What's happening?"
"Are you ok?"
"Fire…", said Lincoln.
"Fire?"
"That's f-fire…"
The unsteadiness of his breath was extremely noticeable and this worried everyone even more.
"Lincoln what's going on?", asked Maddie. "What do you mean by fire?"
The scene before them had gotten more clearer. And sooner or later, everyone understood what Lincoln was talking about.
"Loch Loud… it's d-destroyed!", shouted Lola. "Not the precious castle!!"
"Seriously that's what you're concerned about Lola?", asked Lori.
…
"What the heck did Morag do this place?", asked Lynn Sr.
Everyone was dead silent as the ship slowly parked next to the dock. Rita lowered the anchor again and the ship came to a complete stop.
One by one everyone had taken a step foot off and viewed the burning city.
"It smells like an average Sunday barbecue…", exclaimed Luan.
"There's something that I smell… and I know what it is but I can't say", said Lucy as she began to shiver in fright.
You know it's bad when someone like Lucy is scared.
Lincoln was about to lose it, the destruction of the this once peaceful town had gotten so bad.
"Ok well me and Reyna are going to Starbucks", said Maddie.
"Yeah, what about the Waffle House?", asked Reyna.
"Yes we will go there after", said Maddie.
"What the heck-"
"Don't question us… this is how we cope with drama, sit back and drink coffee while eating bagels", explained Maddie.
"Donuts…"
"No bagels"
"Donuts"
"Bagels"
"Donuts"
"Bagels"
"I SWEAR TO THE LORD MADDIE IF YOU SAY BAGELS ONE MORE T"
And with that last sentence, the two of them had walked off completely ignoring the destruction in their way.
Speaking of destruction, what the heck did Morag do? And how?
And more importantly why?
"Louds!"
Everyone perked up, that screamed sounded familiar.
Soon after the scream they had saw a familiar old man running up to them.
"Oh Louds! Have you come to save us!?", shouted the fishermen in question.
"Yeah! Angus sent us a letter to come here", exclaimed Lori. "The town is more destroyed than we thought it would be"
"Yea unfortunately it is… Morag manage to find a gem that was way worse than the other one", explained the fisherman. "The dragon has corrupted, oh poor dragon… had only recently became a mother"
"Lela has children??", asked the Loud in unison except Lincoln.
"Yeah, the eggs have yet to hatch though… I feel so bad for her", exclaimed the fisherman.
"Don't worry! We can save everyone! All we just have to do is stop Morag from corrupting Lela again", said Lynn in determination. "Lincoln and Lily somehow have done it"
Lincoln just stood there frozen in absolute horror, thinking horrendous thoughts.
The town could've ended this way before… and it's all… my… fault…
He wanted to scream, he wanted to cry… but he was so fearful that he couldn't do anything.
He had to fix this… by himself. But how?
"Where is angus!?", asked Lynn Sr.
"I don't know, he's such in a frantic state right now… he's trying to keep the people safe while also trying to preform his best as the duke, I saw him shedding tears earlier", explained the fisherman.
"Oh no… that's terrible!", shouted Lana.
"What a tragedy…", said Lisa.
Duke… I was the duke… I was a terrible duke. I let everyone down just because I wanted to be better than everyone else…
Why am I so useless?
"Hey what's wrong with the young former duke here?", asked the fisherman in concern.
"Lincoln? Earth to Lincoln!", shouted Lola trying to get Lincoln's attention.
All Lincoln could muster up was a simple whimper of fright.
"Lincoln…?"
Lincoln just gave them a fearful stare, before turning to the clear path next to them.
"Lincoln what are y-"
And with that, Lincoln and sprinted as far as he possibly could…
What will happen to him next? Stay tuned for chapter 2!
