F3: Hello everyone and welcome to my new story featuring the remains of Team RWBY and Neo. Last time we left off with Ruby activating her silver eyes for the first time and Beacon has fallen. Wonder how they'll take it. RWBY is property of Rooster Teeth. OC characters that make an appearance will be given credited to the author(s). With that said Let's Dive In.
Volume 4-1 EX: Fallen
News about Beacon and Vale being overrunned by grimm spread like wildfire on the small island of Patch as many of the inhabitants had supplies ready incase such an event were to happen. That goes the same in the Xioa Long-Rose household. It has been two days since the fall of Beacon and right now inside the cabin home Raven was currently making breakfast for everyone... well almost everyone.
Ruby her niece had yet to wake up after using her silver eyes for the first time and they even had a doctor show up telling them that Ruby was currently in a coma after the events that had happened. Yang was up and about already and she was checking on her little sister almost every hour seeing if their was any change to her health. It was kind of making her worry as well.
Also in the kitchen with her was their resident criminal... or say ex-criminal Neopolitan or Neo how she likes to be called is helping as best she can in the kitchen but her short stature wasn't doing her any favors. Tai Yang was currently out of the house right as he had made a trip into the small town to gather some supplies for them.
Though for some reason Zwei seemed to be rather close to Neo like he knew what was wrong with her.
Even though Neo couldn't talk Raven was still able to understand her thanks to sign language that she learned.
Raven cracked opened a few more eggs and added them into the silket as Neo added some more strips of bacon to the oven.
"Could you grab some milk from the fridge?" Raven asked politely. Neo simply nodded and went to the fridge and grabbed the gallon of milk as she sat it right next to Raven. She took a measuring cup from the cabinet and measured out two cups from the gallon of milk and then poured it into the silket and stirred it in.
"Alright. How do you like your eggs?" Raven asked.
Neo thought a moment before answering.
"Over easy if you please." Neo signed.
"Over easy it is. Could you tell Yang that to come down. Breakfast will be ready." Raven said.
Neo nodded as she walked out of the kitchen with Zwei on her heels. Raven knew that Neo has a lot on her mind right now so she wanted to try and make her feel at home with them for the time being. And if Zwei was already getting used to Neo then that was a victory in her book.
Neo walked up the stairs with the small corgi right next to her as she approached the bedroom that she knew that Yang was in. It wasn't Yang's bedroom as an indication of a rose symbol on the door. Neo turned the door knob and opened the door. Just like she thought Yang was in the room but not in her normal attire.
She was now wearing a dark yellow shirt with a grey shirt over it along with blue jeans that are slightly ripped at the knees. Yang was currently sitting in a chair as she was looking over at the bed.
In the bed was Ruby who is sleeping rather soundly even though she's in a coma. Next to her bed was an IV drip that would at least supply Ruby the nessecary vitims and other things to help her body stay healthy. On the a small desk left of the bed is a small bell.
Neo had to knock on the door to get Yang's attention as the blonde look toward her direction.
"Oh hey. I'm guessing you came to come get me." Yang said rubbing the back of her head. Neo simply nodded her head. Yang then looked back at Ruby almost as if she was waiting for something to happen. Zwei with his little body jumped onto Ruby's bed and seemed to lay down right next to her right leg with worried whine in his voice.
Yang simply walked over to Zwei and gave him a pat on the head trying to calm his worries.
"Hey boy. Don't worry I'm sure Ruby will be fine. Once she wakes up she'll be very happy to see you." Yang replied.
It did seem to calm him down but Zwei still remained by Ruby's side.
Yang gave one final look back to Ruby before following Neo downstairs toward the kitchen.
Neo looked over her shoulder and gave her a sympethic look.
"Yeah I know but I can't help but worry about her. It's already been two days and she's still in a coma. Who know's how long she'll be in that coma and it worries me that she might not even wake up." Yang replied some worry in her voice.
Once the two of them are at the bottom of the stairs Neo turned back to face Yang and even though she was rather short she gave Yang a small tap on the arm almost like she was trying encourage Yang that Ruby would be okay also giving Yang a small smile as well.
"You really think Ruby will wake up?" Yang questioned.
Neo nodded confidently.
It did seem to cheer her up a little bit as Yang returned the smile "You know for someone that can't talk you know how to cheer someone up. Thanks for that." Yang said as the two of them headed into the kitchen.
In the kitchen Raven had finished making breakfast the moment the two entered the kitchen.
"Well you finally came down. She still hasn't woken up yet." Raven said as Yang shook her head.
"No change. Though I'm sure she'll wake up. Just got to keep waiting." Yang said as both she and Neo took their seat at the table.
Just as they sat down the front door opened and closed as Tai Yang stepped into the kitchen.
"Looks like I came in just the right time." Tai said before sitting down on the table to eat his breakfast.
"I'm guessing you got the supplies right." Raven added.
"Yeah. Though it wasn't easy. People are still rather uneasy about what happened in Vale. Going to have to be doing some patrol later in case any grimm show up." Tai added.
"Hey if anything I'll come and join you." Yang replied.
"Oh so you can show your old man up. Who trained who again? When I was training you you couldn't hold a proper fighting stance." Tai jerked.
"Only because you kept on leg sweeping me." Yang protested back. Raven only seemed to chuckle at that. Neo silently laughed at the exchange remembering the few times when Roman was teaching her and Rina how to defend themselves. Suddenly her mood became somber and crestfallen as she looked down at her plate in front of her.
Raven noticed this and looked at her with concern.
"Neo? You okay?" Raven asked motherly placing a hand on her shoulder.
Neo instinctly nodded in response but Raven wasn't buying it. "Neo you don't have to hide anything from me is something is bothering you." Raven said.
Neo sighed silently as she signed to Raven "Just thinking about my father. The one that cared about me." She signed.
"You mean Roman?" Yang asked as Neo stared at her almost like she knew who she was talking about.
"Hey mom's not the only one who knows sign language." Yang said. Ultimately Neo nodded in response to her question.
"I'm sorry to hear about what happened to him. Even if he was considered a criminal he must've been a great father." Raven said gently.
Neo only nodded as the four of them continued to eat. Though Yang couldn't help but be nervous about her little sister still upstairs in bed in a coma as she glanced toward the front room trying to get a look up the stairs.
"Yang your doing it again. I know it pains you but we just have to wait until she wakes up." Tai said.
"I know I just can't help it. I wish she would just wake up right now. It's killing me here just having to wait." Yang said trying not to break the glass that has her drink in.
"I can only imagine what Ruby is going through right now." Raven said as she dug into her meal. Though before she could take another bite her scroll buzzed like someone was trying to get a hold of her.
She pulled out her scroll and look at the number of who was calling her as she gave a confusing look.
"Okay any reason the patrollers are calling me this early in the morning." Raven said as she answered her scroll putting to her ear.
"Raven here. What's up?" She asked. The others couldn't hear the conversation but her look was calm before she narrowed her eyes ever slightly as it seemed to be a serious matter.
"Alright I'll be their soon." Raven said before hanging up.
"Something up mom?" Yang asked.
"Yeah apparently the patrollers have found two people carrying around a body. They said that the body needed repaired or something like they were trying to fix it. Kinda crazy." Raven said.
Neo nudged her a little and gestured to herself and then Raven.
"Oh you want to come along? Alright. Just stick with me okay. Let's finish up then we'll head down." Raven replied.
After they finished their meal Raven and Neo left the house and toward town. Yang headed outside while Tai stayed inside just incase Ruby did wake up.

It was about a ten minute walk from the cabin toward the center of town though Raven directed them toward a certain spot in town. They arrive at a small building that was mainly brick and wood but it held firm. It looked like a small prison on the outside as Raven and Neo walked inside.
The inside of the building was rather small that only contained a desk and behind it was three small holding cells that were currently being occupied. The person in front of the desk noticed Raven and stood up to face her.
"Thank you for coming so quickly Raven." The man stated.
"Anytime Zack. Now who are these two?" Raven asked.
"Never wanted to give me their names so I put them in their to cool off." Zack said.
However Neo got a better look at noticed that it was none other than her teammates Emerald and Mercury. Neo signed to Raven telling her who they are.
"Your teammates? Are you sure?" Raven asked. Neo nodded vigoriously.
She then turned to Zack for a moment "Think you can let them go. They're her teammates." Raven replied.
"Then explain the body they had with them." Zack said.
That was when Mercury spoke "We told you she's an android and she needs repairs. What part of that do you not understand!?" Mercury shouted.
The man only scoffed at this "Yeah right. You two probably killed it and then tried to hide it. Likely story." Zack said.
Though an idea came to Raven "Alright where is the body then?" Raven asked.
"Had to put it in the other cell. If you want to see it than be my guest." Zack said grabbing a pair of keys and walked over to the third cell. He then unlocked it as Raven and Neo looked upon the body. Though Raven noticed that it was the same girl from the tournament that went by the name of Penny.
"See what I mean." Zack said as Raven began examining Penny. Their was no physical damage to her but Raven noticed that the palm of her hand was ripped like an extra skin was placed on her. She grabbed hold of the hand and noticed the metal that was showing through it.
"Part human, part machine. She is an android." She whispered before getting up.
"He's telling the truth. That girl in their an android. While she does have human skin she is also part machine." Raven stated.
Zack got the keys out and unlocked both of their cells letting them both out. Mercury and Emerald immediately went and gave their smaller teammate a hug as they were glad to her alive and well.
"Glad that you're okay." Emerald said happily.
"I'll take it from here Zack. These two are coming with me along with her too." Raven replied.
"You sure? Don't need any help with them?" He asked as she shook her head.
Raven lifted up Penny onto her shoulders and though she was rather heavy despite being short. The now four of them plus Penny came out of the building.
"Alright now what in the world happened? How did you two get here to Patch?" Raven asked.
"Once we got to the dock we saw the more people were heading toward Patch so we got on the same ferry and that's how we got here. We had to hunker down in a hotel until we could figure out what to do next. Wasn't expecting to get arrested though." Mercury said.
"Well you're lucky that Zack knows me. Patch is a small place where everyone knows everyone." Raven replied.
"So... what now? We kinda don't have much lien left after last night." Mercury stated.
"Well then I guess you two will be staying with us. My home has plenty of space and bedrooms. We even sometimes rent out rooms to people but with things being slow we converted them into actually bedrooms incase people need to spend the night." Raven replied as she motioned them to follow her making their way back to the house. Though Raven only wondered how Tai was going to take having two more people around plus the android.

"You have got to be kidding me." Tai said seeing the two people and the one on her shoulder crossing his arms.
"Now I know you're upset but we do have those extra rooms they could use. They could bunk in their plus I'm pretty sure they can pull their weight if they need to." Raven replied as Emerald and Mercury nodded.
Tai sighed as he shook his head knowing that it would pointless to try and arguing with her. Though he looked toward the one on her shoulder.
"And who's she?" He asked.
"Penny. She's android from Atlas. Not sure for what purpose that served for Atlas. Their's no physical damage but she's not responding to anything." Raven said.
"I'll see if me and Yang can take a look and see what the trouble is." Tai said. However Emerald was looking over at the small flower garden by the house and decided to ask.
"Are those your's sir?" She asked.
"Yeah. Though call me Tai. I'm not that old yet." He said.
"If you like I can help maintain them. I... used to have one when I was little." Emerald said rubbing her arm.
"Sure. Though we do got extra if you two are hungry." Tai said.
"Thank you si- Tai." Emerald said as they all headed inside. Raven had to place Pennys body on the sofa so that she could be moved later. Emerald and Mercury got a better look at the place and to them it looked like a miniture mansion.
"This place is huge. And judging by the wood it was hand made." Mercury added.
"Yep. Wood by wood took us almost two months to finally finish it. Feel free to pick out a room for you two. We got some spare clothes from other guests that were here years ago." Tai added before heading upstairs more than likely to check on Ruby.
Mercury sat down a moment trying to relax but he still had a rather nervous look on his face.
"Still can't believe all of this happened. Beacon, Vale all of it gone." Mercury said as Emerald and Neo sat down next to him.
"Yeah... not much we can do. People are still panicking from the attack and have spread throughout the kingdoms." Emerald stated.
"Not all the kingdoms actually. Apparently Atlas has a blockade preventing anyone getting in. Even put a block on all dust trade to and from Atlas. Not even a fly could get through." Raven replied.
"Well isn't that great. Atlas only cares about itself and let everyone else suffer because they don't want to help others. Typical Atlas." Mercury stated as Neo nodded.
Their was a rather long pause between them as nobody said anything for a few minutes but then Emerald broke the ice.
"Everything just went down so fast. We... were trying to find Cinder and try to get out in time but... now she's gone. Nothing we could do about it." Emerald said trying to contain the tears in her eyes.
The only comfort that Mercury could provide was rubbing her back gently.
"She was like a sister figure to you all right." Raven said.
"Oh more than that. She's like a mother to us even though she's slightly older than us. She made sure we we're taken care of and that nothing bad happened to us. It was the four of us." Mercury said.
"Four of you?" She questioned.
"Yeah. It was us, Cinder, and Star. We were quite the pair. We were at the Vacuo orphanage till it burnt down. After that we got separated." Mercury said.
"That is until you all came to Beacon." Raven added as they both nodded in response.
"Well like what Tai said you two are going to have to pull your weight around here. Maybe later you two can help hunt some grimm. People are still in a panic after what happened to they might attract some grimm." She said as the two of them nodded and even nodded offered to help as well.

Three hours have past as Yang and Tai have began going over Penny trying to figure out her android body but so far they weren't having very much luck. Raven explained to Mercury and Emerald about Ruby's current condition though they offered to take turns watching her in case she woke up.
Yang and Tai had to move Penny to the garage where most of the mechanical stuff was their as they got to work carefully taking her apart.
"Anything Yang?" Tai asked. Yang rubbed her hair in frustration trying to understand all the mechanics in her body.
"It's just one component after another. This is definately Atlas tech. She still has some organic parts as well but separating that from cybernetics is difficult. But I can tell that most of her systems are fried from electric shocks. I could try and rebuild some of the components that could at least get her moble but that's about all I could do." Yang added.
"How long will that take?" Tai asked.
"A day. Maybe two if I'm lucky." Yang replied.
"That's better than nothing. Let's see what we can to get her moble again." Tai stated as the two of them got to work.
Meanwhile inside Emerald was being quite helpful with her hands helping Raven whenever she can as she was folding the laundry as she seemed very focused on her work. Neo was dusting around the house to keep herself busy as well.
However Raven only wondered what else Emerald and Mercury been through as she had a feeling they haven't told her the whole story but left it alone as they would tell her at their own pace.
However something caught all their attention as they heard the sounds of rushing footsteps as Mercury was trying to catch his breath.
"Merc. Something wrong?" Emerald questioned.
After catching his breath he the two words that Raven was waiting for ever since Beacon.
"She's awake." Mercury said which made everyone stop what they were doing.
"Em go get Tai and Yang tell them Ruby is awake. Neo you're with me. Merc call the doctor in town tell him to get his butt over here and that Ruby has woke up." Raven ordered and in a flash Emerald almost sprinted out the door as Raven and Neo headed upstairs.
Once they got to the her room they saw Ruby was looking at them with weary silver eyes. Zwei was running and barking in circles glad that his owner was awake before jumping on the bed.
Raven walked closer to the bed and sat at the side of it looking at Ruby.
"Hey kiddo. How you feeling?" Raven asked.
Ruby went to say something but she didn't a word out before she suffered a small coughing fit. Before even Raven could say anything Neo grabbed the cup of water nearby with a straw in it so that Ruby could have a sip of it. Downing almost half of it Ruby let go of the staw feeling her voice coming back.
"Little sore." Ruby said at last her voice still a little horase.
"Just good to know that you're okay now." Raven said as she brushed a little bit of Ruby's hair out of her face.
They heard a pair of rushing footsteps as both Tai and Yang were both standing in front of the door looking at Ruby who gave a weak smile.
Yang's knees felt weak a moment but Tai managed to hold her up grabbing her left arm and placing it around his neck as they walked to the other side of the bed.
"You scared me sis. Thought you weren't going to wake up." Yang said holding back the tears.
"Sorry." Ruby simply said.
"Are you able to sit up?" Tai asked. Ruby tried shuffling her weight around to get herself to sit up but she was still rather tired from just wake up.
Neo came over to help her sit up which Ruby appreciated revealing what she was currently wearing. It was a simple gray long sleeved pajama shirt that buttoned up with small black stripes going down the shirt and sleeves.
"So... what exactly happened? How long was I out for?" Ruby asked.
The room suddenly got quiet as they weren't sure how to answer. Though it was pointless to hide everything from her so Raven took in a deep breath and let it out slowly before she spoke.
"Ruby. You were in a coma for almost three days. Vale and Beacon... they're gone. Everything's gone." Raven simply stated.
Ruby's silver eyes got wide as she was told this news. Not only was she in a coma for three days but Vale and Beacon were all destroyed. Then a memory came to her faster than she could remember. She was on top of the Beacon Tower where Ozpin's office was and right when she got to the top Pyrrha was already falling from the other side as she heard the word 'Run' from her before disappearing on the other side and then... nothing.
Tears came to Ruby's eyes as she remembered it all from that faithful day. Raven embraced her niece as Ruby cried her tears into Raven's shirt not even caring if it got wet by her tears. Raven held her softly as if to secure her with warmth and comfort as she rocked Ruby back and forth gently. Yang and Tai joined in to comfort Ruby as well as too them she needed the most comfort right now.
Neo, Emerald, and Mercury simply looked on as they too shared a small embrace with each other remembering the loved ones that they've lost during this whole thing. The only question now is how do they all move on from this?
