…Flashbacks…
Chapter 11
Complete… such a foreign feeling for Steven to feel after all these years… it nearly made him dizzy from how happy he truly was, how… how complete he felt with his weapon in his arms. It was like a limb Steven mourn for years was finally back to its rightful place once again, leaving Steven shaking and gasping; a fresh breath of air that Steven finally took after years of drowning. To think that the foolish king was the source of such feeling made Steven laugh and shake his head at the hilarious situation that took place not long ago. A chance… the foolish king wanted another chance to start over in exchange for one of the most precious things Steven owned. A chance for a Shield that would have granted the foolish king many riches he no doubts wished for, a Shield that would have opened the door for his village to be on the top of the food chain; a Shield that the king gave away as an apology without knowing the true value of the gift in his hands… if only the king knew what Steven would have done… what he would have given to get the Shield back. A selfless act… the king gave Steven a selfless act of kindness even if the circumstances were not ideal; nevertheless, this one act granted the king a wish, and if the Alpha used his only wish to gain another chance, who was Steven to refuse such an honest request?
Smiling gently, Steven walked toward his people's hut, his heart pounding in his chest uncontrollably as he tightened his hands on the Shield to make sure that his weapon was still in his hands and that it wasn't a figment of imagination. His freedom was handed to him by the same hands that took him and his people as slaves and workers; a soft laugh left his lips before Steven can control it, and for the first time in many years since his imprisonment by the Hydra king and later the foolish Iron King, Steven felt light…
Reaching the assigned hut on the edge of the village, Steven was greeted by the sight of old man Philips sitting on a small stool while watching the children playing like a guarding hawk. The old man raised his head when he heard the sound of footsteps coming near their hut; what greeted Steven when he arrived was eyes that widen with disbelieve as the man stood up so fast that the stool tumbled over causing the children to turn their heads to check on the source of the noise.
"T… the Shield… how…?" Philips whispered with a broken voice, his words causing Steve to smile gently and raise his Shield so the man can check the weapon more closely. Out of every one of his people, Philips was the one who was with him from the start, he was the one who saw the impressive fight between Steven and the Hydra king when the monster came to destroy the older man's home village; Philips was the only one who remembered the hell that Steven raised using his Shield and how Steven nearly succeed in killing the monstrous Alpha if it wasn't for him being dishonest and leaving his honor behind to capture Steven against his wish.
"The foolish king owed me a favor…" Steven decided to say using the short version of what happened as to not cause Philips to have a heart failure if he heard what the foolish king accused Steven of; but it was alright in the end, everything was fine now that Steven was holding his Shield in his arms once more. The questioning noise that Philips made went unanswered as the older man touched the surface of the Shield gently, his eyes misting as he no doubts remembered what took place nearly 11 summers ago.
"Is… is that the Shield?" A small voice asked, causing Steven to turn and look at the children (Young Philips and Angela) as they abandoned their game and rushed to gaze at the famous Shield, their eyes wide as they took the silver Shield with the white star in the middle, their breathes hitching when Steven kneeled down to show them the Shield, causing them to squeal and touch it with excited fingers as they tried to take the weapon in, eyes wide with excitement and joy.
"This is a joyous occasion for celebrating, Angela, young Philips, why don't you go inside and inform Timothy that a feast is in order?" The older man stated, breaking them out of their excitement momentary, before the children laughed happily and run inside the hut, no doubt telling the cook about the happy occasion. "So… let us talk about the kind of favor the king owed you to return a Shield that would give him riches out of the world," Philips whispered as he took a seat on one of the stools and pointed to the other one beside him, no doubt fearing that the king was trying to take advantage of Steven like how the Hydra king did.
Steven just kept his smile and took a seat beside the older man, calming his heart and putting his emotions under control. Philips was overprotective of him, always was, ever since that dark day where his village was destroyed and he was forced to see his daughter and wife being killed in front of him; Steven knew the man view him as a son, a family. But he was running himself ragged trying to protect their little pack ever since they were taking inside the Hydra castle's walls, going as far as to become one of the Hydra king's advisors to be Steven's spy. "I know what you are thinking…" Steven said after a while, his lips twitched up when he heard Timothy's booming voice followed by the children's happy ones. "And it is not it." Steven turned to the older man, allowing him to study his face with his tired eyes.
"Why are you so sure my queen?" Philips asked, his hands twitching and his face taking on his signature scowl as he become lost in thoughts for a few seconds. "The ba… they may have been your people once upon a time. But their actions have so far proven that you… we… are not welcomed in their lands. They may have given us a hut to stay in and jobs to feed ourselves from. But it is not from the kindness of their hearts not when they are keeping a very close eye on us every second of the day; I fear the villagers would attack if they still think we are somehow still loyal to the Hydra king. Why… why are we staying here when we can go back to your home?" Philips asked, his soft words causing the smile to fall from Steven's face as he turned his gaze to the Shield once more.
"Because… it is because I do not have a home anymore… the Hydra king made sure to destroy my village," Steve whispered, telling the truth he tried to deny for months upon months, only to be forced to admit it in the end; the harsh gasp coming from the older man, caused Steven to swallow and start running his fingers over the star insignia. "I do not want my people… my pack… to see the home I talked about being reduced to nothing but ashes and burned wood. I also cannot take you to Asgard like how Loki and Thor always pleas, a journey like this is a harsh journey that not many survive, and I cannot lose you when I know there is a much easier route to take." Steven stated, his words displeasing the older man if his harsh intake of breath was any indication.
"Does it mean that you are going to throw yourself in the line of fire once more?" Philips asked in a tight voice, his words causing Steve to blink and turn back to the man, trying not to sigh when he saw the clenched fists and pinched face, like the older man was holding himself back by sheer will as not to start a scene. "Will it be like Margaret's story all over again?" Philips hissed his words causing Steven to swallow and turn away, biting the inside of his cheek as to not think about what the older man's implied.
"It will not," Steven stated, ignoring the doubt shining in Philips' eyes as he gazed at the forest so close to his pack's hut, yet far away from it. "It will not, and even if it happened which will not, I have protection, and old friends who can aid me if things went south," Steven explained, which only got him an eyebrow raised from the older man who seemed like he is refusing to believe, and who was Steven to blame him? The man was there when Steven spent four long winters in the dungeon of the Hydra king's castle, being tortured and beating into submission.
"It seems…" Philips sighed as he turned his gaze away, his face tired and his posture slouched as he gaze straight forward, eyes unseeing as he get lost in thoughts once more. "It seems that we cannot stop you now, not when you already decided the next move you are going to play… just please… be careful this time," Philips mumbled his fists clenched tightly as he tried to bury his emotion deep down, not wanting Steven to see how the man was breaking; an emotion Steve was familiar with as he looked forward and forced a smile on his lips when he saw Margaret and James coming home…
If only it was that easy…
"Did you hear?"
"Did you hear?"
"Did you…?"
Anton sighed as he continued to hear people whispering as he walked through the market, frowning harshly as they continued to whisper the mantra of disbelieving over and over again. Even after a month had passed since Anton returned from his hunt, the people still whispered about what took place there; they still whispered about the bear that attacked the hunting party, they still whispered about how Tyber was probably an oath breaker (Which always brightened Anton's day) and how the queen was true to his words, and they still whisper about this and that causing Anton to growl at how his people loved gossiping more than ever; wasn't the gossips and rumors supposed to die like three weeks ago?
"Can I go and play with James today, Papa?" Petrus suddenly asked causing Anton to stop what he was doing (Glaring down a merchant who was trying to prod Anton and ask him about the bear's white fur and where it went. So what? The bear was his kill, and it was within Anton's right to be the first to choose what to take from the kill, and he chose the fur, so now everyone going on and on about the beautiful white fur of the bear being the courting present of his intended. A gossip that made Anton snarl at how stupid and noisy his people were) and gazes at Petrus who was gazing at the trinkets in the merchant's shop with distaste.
"Did you two not play with each other yesterday?" Anton asked momentary leaving his glaring contest with the foolish merchant to turn his attention to his son… his son who was gazing at him with an unamused look that was too much like the queen for Anton's liking; it seems that his son was spending way too much time with the foolish queen if he was already adopting all of the queen's facial expressions this fast.
"That was a week ago… before you anger the queen once more," Petrus said in a deadpanned voice glaring at Anton when he said the last part as if Anton was the cause of the misfortune that befallen Petrus and his inability to play with his friend as much as he would have liked. Anton's lips twitched, and the Alpha didn't even know if he wanted to smile in amusement or scowl at how his own son was talking back like this.
From the corner of his eye, Anton noticed how the merchant was leaning down to hear what Petrus was saying better, which made the Alpha let out an annoyed growl, causing the Beta to gulp and back away, a shaky smile on his face. Scaring the noisy merchant, Anton turned to his son and pointed to him to follow when Anton start walking away, deciding to leave the market and the noisier part of the village in favor of calmer parts where the two of them would talk as much as they liked without to many people gossiping. "You know it is not my fault that the queen wanted to stay with his people, is it?" Anton said, rolling his eyes at the huff Petrus let out; yes, his son was spending way too much time with the queen to be healthy, a few more days and the little tyke will call Anton foolish king!
"The queen never leaves for more than two days unless you summon his ire… what did you do?" Petrus pout as he asked that question, crossing his small arms over his chest and trying to glare at Anton; the Alpha really doesn't know if he wanted to laugh at such a display or tug his son's ear at such disrespect. Anton was so going to complain when the foolish queen get back; the Omega didn't see Anton try and corrupt his babe to act like an insensitive brat!
"I did nothing other than returning his Shield!" Anton huffed, deciding to give only half the truth and ignore the other half that kept stinging every time he remembered his foolish actions against the queen. So what if the queen stayed away from the house for more than a month, his babe should be happy that the Omega is spending time with his to-be-husband… though that didn't stop Anton from shuffling uncomfortably and looking away; he wondered what Petrus would make of such news when he was attached to the queen more than Anton was.
The gasp Petrus let out caused Anton to stop and turn to gaze at his son who had a shocked and excited look on his face. "You… you gave him the Shield back?" Petrus asked, voice cracking as he said those words, and when Anton nod in confirmation, the little boy let out a happy squeal and run to hug Anton tightly around the waist before letting go of him. "I am going… amazing... bye!" That was the only thing Anton managed to catch from his son's blabbering as the boy turned around and started running away, no doubt in the direction of the house the queen's pack stays in.
"Well… that was interesting." A voice said behind Anton causing the man to groan in annoyance when he turned around to face Fury, who was gazing at Petrus retreating back with a look equally interested and surprised. "Your boy already decided who their favorite parent is." Fury said those words with a smirk, causing Anton to huff and glare at the one-eye annoyance.
"What do you want?" Anton asked as he start walking once more, but this time he was heading to his house, planning on sleeping until it is dark or spending his time in the workshop; it was a mistake to come to the market today, he should have let Magna handle these kinds of things, especially when the villagers either seemed too interested in prodding about his personal life or are scared of him to sell him something.
"I heard that you are housing a queen in your home." The older Alpha stated, gazing at Anton with disapproval from the corner of his eye. "A young, healthy, Omega…" Fury continued sending Anton a pointed look that Anton tried to ignore as he continued in his path. "You know this is not appropriate, do you not?" Fury hissed under his breath causing Anton to bite the inside of his cheek and halt in his way.
"So? The two of us had an agreement, he is coming to live under my watch and his people have their freedom. It also saved him from the harassment he was going to go through being the Hydra king's former Omega." Anton said, and he tried not to flinch at the harsh glare Fury send toward him as if the man was planning to kill him for an insult Anton didn't know about.
"Is that so?" The Alpha said in a bland voice causing the hair on the back of Anton's neck to stand on its ends. "Tell me; is the queen one of your slaves? A worker? A Concubine? No?" Fury frowns harshly when Anton didn't say anything, informing Fury with his glare alone that the queen was none of the above, which caused the older man to huff. "You may have not realized it yet, Anton, but people are talking." Fury warned getting a raised eyebrow from Anton. "Some words are less savory than the other, but with the Stone clan being here everything is nothing but a line drawn in the sand. The Stones are trying to raise a new problem, trying to make people question the relationship you have with the queen, especially with the Omega living under your house. Some are happy about such development, considering a bringer of life will bring new dawn if the two of you mated… the ones that follow the Stone clan though… you just painted a target on the Omega's back." Fury left it to that, causing Anton to bite the inside of his cheek as to not snap at the man standing in front of him.
"So what are you suggesting? So far you gave me two options Fury, either marrying the Omega or kicking him out. You know that the only thing that kept some of the villagers away from the Omega is their fear of what would I do if they attacked the Omega again. I am sure you heard about what happened to Hamar?" Anton stated causing Fury to tilt his head, the dark pleasure shining in his only eye, informed Anton of what Fury really thought about the punishment that Anton dealt.
"Tell me Anton… are you still chasing the ghosts of the past that you refused to see the gift the fates put in your path?" Fury suddenly asked, causing Anton to stop in his way and gaze at the older man who was giving Anton a known look, which made the Alpha shift in his place. "This… this is your second chance, lad. Do not waste it because you are still shackled by the regrets of what was done." Anton wanted to snap at the older Alpha, he wanted to hiss and scream at him and shake him; 'What do you know?' Anton wanted to growl at the man, what did he know about the guilt and regret Anton held inside him. 'How can you say that, was he not like a son to you?!' Anton wanted to scream those words, because how dare Fury forget the only person the two of them remembered and mourned even after many seasons and years passed… In the end, Anton didn't do any of that, he just walked away, ignoring the Alpha behind him and trying to erase the knowing look Fury was sending him…
In the end, Anton couldn't…
"MidWinter Solstice is coming in a fortnight or so." Someone (Magna) said, causing Anton to groan and lean back in his stool, grumbling darkly at the happy laugh that greeted him after such a display. "Oh, Anton, what did the Winter season do to you this time?" Magna asked, getting a laugh from everyone surrounding Anton; Jamti, Magna, Nattalegg, Klint, Braes, Thor, and Loki all gazed at Anton with amused looks in their eyes.
"It is not what the season did to me; it is what the season contains that annoys me," Anton stated, face turned into a scowl as he glared at the fire in front of him, ordering it silently to cook their dinner faster so Anton can stuff his face with food and ignore his friends' middling. "It is all about the Winter sports, festivals, celebrating Yule, and the annoying cheerful people." Anton huffed, taking a long drag of his mead, ignoring the snort of Klint.
"What are you still annoyed that the villagers always force you to participate in the Winter sports?" Klint asked, playing with a wool ball in his hands and grinning teasingly, which got him a growl from Anton. "Oh, come on! You should be happy, Omegas cheering for you, Alphas praising you, children staring in awe at your strength… is that not right everyone?" That got a nod from agreement from everyone who laughed and clapped Anton on the back causing him to growl and mutter darkly.
"I do not think that is the part our dear king hates, I think what annoys Anton the most is the Omegas' parents that tried to force his hands in a marriage. Last year I counted 34 marriage proposals both from Omegas and Alphas alike." Loki stated, playing with his dagger as he send Anton a knowing smug grin that made the Alpha hiss like a wet cat, causing everyone to snort.
"Again?" Jamti asked, deciding to leave his job of preparing the roasted deer for a few seconds to look at Anton who was doing a fine job of cooking the deer meat with the power of his glare alone. "You would think after rejecting many marriage proposals people would stop middling in your life." Jamti murmur in annoyance at how persistent people can be; though it took him only a second before he turned to Anton with a conspiring look that made the hair on the back of Anton's neck stand on its ends. "Say, maybe the Omega you fancy will make an appearance at the Winter sports this season, what do you think?" Jamti asked, which caused everyone to still be in their places and for some to spit the mead they drank.
"Since when did Anton fancy an Omega?" That was Braes as he finally get over his shock and gaze at Anton with narrowed eyes, probably wondering if Jamti was playing them or some Omega finally managed to melt the king's icy heart to spark more than a passive interest from the Alpha. Were his ears hearing right? Was Anton interested in an Omega?
"My, my, since when did our Anton grow up, just yesterday he was hissing at every Omega and scrunching his nose like they are diseased, now he is fancying some Omega… do I know them by a chance?" Nattalegg asked, a grin panting her lips making her look like a cat who eat the canary as she glanced at Anton up and down, trying to make the Alpha falter so he would spill his secret.
"There is something clearly stuck in your ears Nattalegg, and Jamti is so wrong in his accusations because I. Do. Not. Fancy. The. Omega!" Anton stated, directing his glare toward Jamti who was laughing silently at the dilemma he threw Anton in; Anton was so going to take his revenge, he was so going to tell everyone about the time Jamti ran away from a goat who stolen his clothes while he was swimming.
"Of course not, Anton…" Jamti said with a grin that suggests the opposite of his words. "After all, you have not spent all day yesterday trying to find a way to woo the Omega… I still remember clearly how you did not spend three hours in the market trying to find a courting gift." That information made everyone still for a second before laughing loudly, ignoring Anton's angry shouts and his threats to Jamti with a painful death.
"So, who is the fiery Omega that managed to ensnare our Shield brother's heart?" Thor asked, raising his jug of mead in a toast that everyone but Anton followed, which caused Anton to growl and turn back to the meat planning on stuffing his face full and not sharing any of his kill with his friends. Let them stare in hunger for the suffering they put Anton through they do not deserve any of the deer that was cooking nicely.
"No. One…" Anton hissed, looking away from his friends who were laughing and trying to make Anton confess, no doubt trying to set him up with the Omega that seemed to catch Anton's eyes. They were wrong, so, so wrong! Anton does not fancy the foolish queen; he does not want to be in the same room as him! The two of them were nothing but allies in their fight against the Stone clan and nothing more! The sound of a foolish queen snapped Anton out of his glaring and he turned to his head to the side hoping to catch the sight of the queen from the corner of his eye. His lips twitched for a second when he saw the foolish queen sitting with his people around one of the hearths near the dining hall not a few paces away, taking with his pack with a soft smile on his lips as he gave James and Petrus their dinner.
"…Oh…" Someone whispered, causing Anton to turn to his friends and narrow eyes at them, but all of them were looking at Loki who was gazing at Anton with surprise and a little shock. "I was not expecting this outcome, but I find myself not that surprised." Loki ended up saying after a while, blinking his eyes and turning to the dear ignoring the questioning look everyone was throwing him, even Nattalegg was narrowing his eyes at the Alpha. "A word of advice though… do not try courting unless you are sure you want to spend the rest of your life with… them… they are not the kind to give second chances that easy, nor are they the type to seek a relation like what you think you are after," Loki stated, gazing at Anton with a look that informed the Alpha he knew something about what happened to between the queen and Anton more than a month ago.
Before Anton opened his mouth to deny everything Loki claimed, a voice interrupt him, the gritty note of the sound making Anton inhale harshly as he turned his glare to the person who dared to come to his fire. Surprise, surprise, the person was no other than Sunset (Really, how much can someone be so nonracist to name themselves Sunset and refuse to be called by their given name? Did the Omega not know that Gods and Goddesses were punished for claiming to be something/someone they are not?) "My king…" Sunset said with a smile that she no doubt hoped was coy and demure in nature, but it did nothing but cause a shiver to go down Anton's spine.
"What do you want?" Anton said after a while of silence, blinking his eyes and then narrowing them to take the woman in, wondering what kind of approach she was going to try this time. The past few weeks were calm and quiet without the Stone's middling in his life after the public shaming they went through, giving Anton a few peaceful days to himself.
The question caused Sunset to falter a little before her smile was back on her lips, taking a step forward and gazing at Anton with hopeful eyes, looking like she was waiting for the Alpha to invite her to sit with him and his friends; as if Anton was going to make a mistake like inviting the snake near him in any way. "I was hoping you would allow me to go on a walk with you tomorrow, my king, Yule is coming soon, and I was hoping I would be of help to you," Sunset said, her words causing Anton to frown harshly and roll his eyes, accepting his plate of food from Magna with a nod before turning to Sunset.
"I already handled everything, thank you for offering your help but it is not needed." Anton deadpanned causing the woman's smile to slip before she forced it back once more, this time straining more than ever to keep it on her face. "That and I do not play friendly with oathbreakers." Anton delivered the last blow causing Sunset to inhale harshly and for her smile to vanish completely from her face before she excused herself, fleeing as fast as she can before she no doubt cause a scene in front of everyone in the village. "Annoying…" Anton mumbled before taking a bite from the meat and washing it down with mead.
"Harsh…" someone from his friends teased, causing the rest to laugh and shake their heads returning back to their conversation; all were excited about Yule and the festivities that would take place in a fortnight. The sound of a familiar laugh (He only heard it once, in a day he both regret and look at fondly) caused Anton to turn his head to the source of the laugh, an involuntary smile taking over his face when he saw that the foolish queen seemed to be teasing both James and Petrus with the Shield in his hands.
"Oh… I see now what you meant, Loki…" Thor booming voice stated, causing Anton to jump and turn to the blond Alpha, only to see that to his horror all of his friends were looking at him with surprised looks on their faces as they looked between Anton and the direction of the queen before looking back toward Anton. "Though, I do not think that the queen is that interested," Thor said as he returned back to his stew, ignoring how red Anton's face became at such words.
"Oh, shush it… I do think it is kind of… sweet?" Magna said, her words being no more than confused question as she gave Anton a reassuring smile; thankfully, not pointing out how embarrassed that Anton was feeling at the moment. "Besides, I do think that the queen has a soft spot for Anton, considering that he gave him Goddess Eir amulet when Anton went on the hunt last month," Magna said with a soft smile, not knowing that her words would cause choking sounds to come from their friends as they were so surprised they choked on their food; the hell came after everyone regains their barriers and start launching question after another, ordering Anton to spill what happened last week that the queen gave him a protection amulet…
Needless to say, Anton was nearly eaten alive that night…
"It is snowing once more," James said in boredom, causing Petrus to snort and gaze at the snow from within the warm space of the house the queen liked to spend more time in than the king's home. Petrus only hummed as he stood beside James, looking through the window at the fallen snow and howling winds. "If it continued to snow like this we will not be able to go outside and play…" James sighed as he said these words shaking his head in disappointment as his sight never left the snow like it was blaming the fluffy and cold water for all the misfortune of the world.
"Well, there are other games we can try? I mean, it is not like we cannot use the snow to our advantage." Petrus stated after a while, his words getting a pout from James who start grumbling about them playing in the snow yesterday and the day before that. "We can build a fort and defend it from outsiders?" Petrus suggested to James, causing the other boy to scrunch his nose.
"We d-did that the day b-before." Came a feminine voice of Angela as she spoke behind the boys, her Icelandic broken and accent thick as she tried to talk, causing Petrus to turn to the girl and thank her when she handed him and James hot herbal drinks. "A-and be-fore t-that was our snow f-fight; you and James w-won that one." Angela huffed, still a little sore about losing the fight to James and Petrus even when she and Philips come so close to winning.
"And before that, we went hunting… we lost the rabbit we tracked down," Philips stated his speech better, shivering and getting closer to the fire burning in the hearth, muttering something about it being too cold for this. "We cannot even go fishing in such weather! This place has nothing but snow, ice, snow, and more snow… we cannot even play catch in such weather." Philips pouted, blowing hot air on his hands hoping it would warm them up.
"I… I did not think of that…" Petrus pouted as he said that, looking at his wooden mug full of herbal drinks, wondering if he can think of games that will make everyone happy. Everyone let out a sigh at that, pouts painting their lips as they tried to find something to entertain themselves; that's how the queen found them, glaring at the fire with pouts deeper than they were since they realized they are trapped in the hut with no fun way to spend the time.
"Ah… did something happen while I was away?" The queen asked as he gazed at the children who jumped when they heard his voice and rushed to him, explaining their dilemma to the queen and hoping the Omega would find a solution to their problem. "I see… I did not consider what you will feel in this new weather; people here are so used to the snow and ice all around the year that we adapted our lives to our surroundings." The queen explained, humming softly as he went to put a few logs in the hearth to warm the room. "Have you tried to learn skiing and ice skating?" The Omega questioned, getting confused noises from the kids around him, which gained them an amused smile from the Omega.
"I did not, father said that I am too young to learn how to skate or ski…" Petrus said with a pout, causing the queen to hum and tilt his head in deep thoughts, causing the kids around him to shuffle as they waited excitedly for what the Omega was going to do.
"I admit, ice skating is unfit for children your ages, but I do not see any fault in you learning how to ski, especially when it is practically a surviving skill." The Omega stated, humming a little to himself as a smile crossed over his face before he turned to the children who were getting excited by the second. "We have too much to do though, especially with preparation for Yule to start any skiing lessons." The queen gave them an apologetic smile as the pups all whined at the bad news the queen gave.
"What is Yule?" James asked, walking toward the queen and set in his lap, purring happily when the queen started to run his fingers through James's thick hair; a pang went through Petrus as the sight, and he shifted in his place, trying to ignore the jealousy rising inside him. "Is it like… the Mass on Christ's day? The one Johann always celebrate?" James scrunched his nose at that line of thinking, causing the queen to chuckle and kiss the side of his head gently.
"No, sweetheart, it is not… but it is familiar to it in a way." The queen stated as he started to explain the festivity that was going to take place in no more than a week time, causing the children to get excited as they heard about the celebration that was going to take place and the Winter sports after, exciting the kids as they started planning on attending the festivity and enjoy themselves.
"Are you going to celebrate Yule with father and me?" Petrus asked after the queen was done explaining the traditions that are to happen and let the pups go on and excite themselves; the question Petrus asked, seemed to make the queen blink and turn to the pup, causing Petrus to flush as he tried to explain himself. "I m-mean… if you can come and celebrate Yule with us…" Petrus mumbled, shifting a little in his place as he tried not to blush hard as he felt the queen's gaze on him.
"Maybe…" The queen ended up saying after a while, causing Petrus to look up, his heart pounding in his chest as his eyes fell on the Omega who was gazing at him gently causing Petrus to feel warm in his chest. "Besides, knowing the foolish kings, he would probably forget to decorate for the celebration because of him spending too much time in his workshop." The queen complained, causing Petrus to giggle, a smile taking over his face at the thought of the queen pulling his father from his ear and scolding him for forgetting to decorate the evergreen he would no doubt bring tomorrow.
Maybe Yule would be different this year…
