"Hey you, hands off the Princess! She's coming back with us right now! No humans going to stop us!" These words came from a tall man wearing sunglasses. He was wearing a black suit and was accompanied by two others similarly dressed. They all had just piled in from the now open bathroom. window. Wicked looking bone like black tails protruded from their pants.
Lala stuck out her tongue at the group as she reluctantly released the hug. It made her feel warm in strange ways. Simply put it was unexpectedly pleasant. This boy was an amazing hugger for sure, in her opinion. "Back off or you'll regret it. I'm not going back! All those sleazy suitors are nothing but, power hungry morons. I'm not even sure they have any idea what love is." She pointed with angry purpose. Her face softened a little as she glanced behind her then back. "Besides Caliburn Rito Yuuki has granted me sanctuary on this planet. So unless you want to anger the oldest known race in the universe. You better listen to me."
The three Devilukien soldiers shared a look of absolute terror and panic. Then the leader spoke again shakily. "Princess you, wouldn't dare use one of your craz...ah..brilliant inventions inside someone's home. Would you?" Due to some previous trauma the trio didn't hear anything beyond her first angry sentence.
She really thought about it for a few minutes. "Depends on which ones I suppose. Besides, I'm pretty sure Rito can handle you three."
"What, he's just a human? We're the premiere warrior race in the galaxy. I could take him with one hand!" The leader's posture became very aggressive in that moment.
"Listen guys, this is a civilized planet. Surely we can talk about this, like rational beings." The young boy pleaded with the aliens while trying not to appear combative.
The leader charged instead of talking. A solid punch came his way and he reacted instinctively. Instead of blocking it his own agility surprised him and he caught the blow with one hand. Adrenaline pulsed thru his body as he applied more pressure than he realized. The crunch of bone could be heard as several fingers broke by the force. His opponent cried out in agony. "Oh my sorry, I guess I don't know my own strength anymore." He released him as the adult aimed a mid level kick at his chest. Then the earthling stopped the attack completely. However, as a human he could not compensate for the unexpected tail slap that raised a red welt across his midsection during the follow thru. He grabbed the extra limb with temporary anger and squeezed feeling it's exoskeleton fracture in his grip.
This time the man went to his knees with pained tears in his eyes. "Alright I give, please let me go." Enraged his two friends charged as well. Two quick punches knocked them both out. "Sorry about those idiots you won fairly. I don't know how we'll get back to Zastin-sama's ship like this though."
Lala spoke up with her usual positive attitude. "Don't worry I summoned this while you guys fought. It's set to the closest Devilukien signal in space." She happily put a small rod in his good hand as she activated it. Then she waved as the three disappeared in a cloud of black suits. "Oops that one only transports organic material. Oh well they'll be fine."
Small Devilukien cruiser...
Zastin nodded along as his subordinates finished their report. "Okay interesting, but why are you three naked then?"
"Princess Lala." The three answered in perfect unison.
"Sadly, that explains everything then." He stood excitedly at the potential challenge they spoke of. "Caliburn Rito Yuuki huh. I simply must test him, to see if he is worthy as Lala-sama's protector." He looked at the state of his men. "After you three get some medical attention from Doctor Mikado. However, get dressed first alright." They bowed painfully and left the room to follow his orders.
Yuuki Residence some time later...
Unknown to Rito in the whole scuffle at some point he lost his towel. Lala admired the view and said nothing. 'He is real cute! Not to mention surprisingly fit. It made her feel warm inside again for some reason she didn't understand.' She grinned like a fool.
However, Mikan Yuuki had other plans as she covered her eyes. "Onii-chan cover up! There are ladies present for goodness sake!"
His entire body flused an embarrassed red as he fled full speed to his room. "Ssooorrrry!"
Just then the doorbell rang. Mikan looked downstairs with horror. "Oh what now!" She looked at the foreign visitor again. "I'm Mikan, Rito's younger sister. Come on Lala-san proper guest wait downstairs in the living room."
"Yes, Mikan-Chan!" She spoke with great energy.
The pair got to the door with the elder girl a few steps behind. As it opened the brunette was puzzled. "Mikaido-sensei? Since when does a school nurse make house calls?"
Lala waved happily at the only other alien she new planetside. "Doctor hi, I thought I was supposed to see you tomorrow?"
"Oh don't worry Princess I'm here to talk with Rito-kun actually. I would have been earlier. However, another Caliburn needed their new powers explained just like him." She smiled and invited herself in carrying a metallic briefcase. Without warning she set it in front of the television then pressed a button on the handle. It unfolded into a projector screen as she handled a long pointer of similar metal to the case. "So where is he anyway?"
"Upstairs at the moment, want me to get him?" The pink haired ward of the Camelot Pact stated.
"No, I got it thanks! Rito stop wallowing in guilt already and get down here. You have another guest!" Mikan screamed in irritation at her brother's hang up. She really hoped some kind of sense would come out of tonight.
The only male in the house soon came down dressed casually. He still had the faintest blush in his cheeks. "Mikaido-sensei, you not here to give me weird verbal thought experiment test again. Are you?" He sat on the couch between his sister and Lala.
"No Yuuki-kun not today. You already passed those impressively. So now it's time to learn what you've won, Caliburn." She then put her pointer to the screen. An animated three dimensional image of human evolution soon appeared on it. "I'm sure the two earthlings are familiar with this image. This is the easiest way I've figured out to explain it." She indicated a more muscular image. "This is Cro-magnon small brain, but denser bone structure and muscle mass. The Mist of Avalon came to alter your genetic structure tonight. She indicated the end of the chart. Homo-sapien or modern man has lost the more physical body of the past. However, thru my people's study of human DNA we discovered a missing link in the code. So thru the miracle of science we have created a superhuman combining the two stages of your evolution."
She got close to Rito with a sultry smile. She leaned over showing off her cleavage. "So make sure only I get to take care of that body of yours. I am a doctor after all." She felt pleased at his reaction. 'That innocent blush is just too adorable.' Then she continued in a serious tone. "Any questions?"
Mikan quickly raised her hand. "How do you determine candidates for this?"
"Excellent question, though I suspect you brother already knows the answer. We call it the Sword in the Stone Test. It involves several moral questions while unknowingly having a cerebral mapped lie detector test. Anything else?" She looked at her young listeners nothing else required immediate explanation it seemed. "I'm an elf of the Summer Court, from Arcadia so you know." She briefly held back her hair to show her pointed ears. "Anyway, time to teach you humans the Camelot Pact."
