Ch1
The castle was a quiet place. A beautiful haven for royalty and nobles alike. It was in the nursery where a woman was putting her children asleep. This was no ordinary woman either. This was the esteemed queen Aleena putting her four children to bed. "Mamma, can you sing for us?" Asked her oldest daughter when her younger siblings fell asleep. Aleena smiled pridefully at her daughter. She nodded and started to sing. "Sleep little one close your eyes
You're getting sleepy with the night
Let your worries slip away
Tomorrow is a brand new day" as Aleena sang the last line she saw the little hoglet had fallen asleep in her arms. She smiled as she tucked the sleeping girl into bed leaving a small kiss on her forehead "good night my little angel" she whispered as she left the nursery.
"Your majesty. The Oracle is here to see you." Informed one of the guards as she walked down the hall way. "Thank you." She walked down the corridor and into the library where the elderly anteater was waiting. "Queen Aleena I have urgent news." The oracle got right down to business "tonight Dr. Robotnik will attack the castle killing you and your dear children. However there is a prophecy. One day your children will form the council of four and defeat Robotnik once and for all." Aleena looked at her dearest friend in disbelief. What would it require her to do to keep her family safe. "What must I do?"
"You must... give up your children. Leave them with separate families you would trust with your life. Only then will the prophecy will come true."
She was in shock. Give up her children? It was to hard to even think about. She would have to if she wanted her children to live but that didn't make it any easier. She said her goodbyes to her friend and rushed to the nursery. She woke the oldest and tucked the triplets into baskets with a blanket. "We're going on an adventure" she told her questioning daughter as they left the palace grounds.
They stopped at a mansion on a hill. The queen set her youngest daughter on the doorstep knocked on the door and pulled the cobalt and sky blue hedgehog into the city. "Mamma, why did we leave Sonia behind?" The confused two year old asked. "Sonia is going to be staying with lady Windermere for awhile ok?" Said the Queen sadly.
Next, they stopped at a small cottage in the city. She set her green son on the doorstep knocked on the door and ran, unaware of the rat running off with her son. "Goodbye Manic." Whispered the hoglet being pulled along with her mother.
Their final destination was a house in the middle of the forest. When the final basket was set down her daughter knelt down and gave her little brother a hug. "Bye Sonic. One day we'll see each other again" Aleena barely held back a sob as she picked up her daughter, rapped on the door as hard as she could and bolted deep into the woods. She collapsed holding her baby girl as if she would die if she ever let go and sobbed. "It's okay Mamma we'll see them again" her daughter tried to reassure her.
"Your majesty. The time has come for you to part. I shall take her to a distant land where she will learn many things needed to stop Robotnik." Said the oracle from behind the sobbing mother. Aleena nodded "sweetie you're going on an adventure. I'm sorry I can't come with you but as long as you keep your amulet close to your heart we're together." The child nodded and went with the oracle through the portal. "I will see you again one day... Hope the Hedgehog."
I edited the lyrics for maddie's lullaby from back to the outback. This chapter was done earlier than expected but hey, I'm not complaining.
