Chapter Three – Social surprises
They got home, a wreck. And I mean it. It was messy. Blood was everywhere! Pearl, Anton, Aureilietta, Gordon, Sythia and Carter were coated in that red stuff. Pearl, Aureilietta and Sythia had it in their hair and on masks (even though Aureilietta was a Siren, not a Vampire), and everyone had it on their clothes, teeth, face and whatnot. I was practically certain their clothes would be going into the bin!
"Mills,' I have a surprise for you. Syth, Carter, can you wait there for us? Aureilietta said, sweetly (I was sure leaving Sythia and Carter alone there was a terrible idea, but I was also sure I was the only one who knew about their affair, apart from them.).
"Mum, what is it? Is it a girlfriend for Panther? Or a secret dead body? I'm SOOO excited!" bubbled Pearl. "Jeez, sis! It's a surprise. You aren't supposed to know yet." Carter said, slightly exasperated, yet still sarcastic (like normal).
"Honey, Are you sure this is a good idea? I mean, she could be dangerous." Gordon whispered to Aureilietta, who replied with "It will be fine. Babe. Calm. I know it's been a while, but she's still your sister!," in a hushed voice. The couple stopped for a second and slowly leaned forward. Lips touched, and the couple embraced. This whole transaction made their children say "Eewww! Mum! Dad! Break it up!" Reluctantly, parents stopped, and walked on.
They stopped at a door, unlocked it, and slowly walked in. I was waiting, lurking in the darkness. Slowly, I moved towards a lamp, and pulled the cord hard. "Surprise!" I said, and to my surprise, the kids looked confused, as if they didn't know I existed, let alone I was their aunt!
"Wh -wh-who is that?" a nervous Pearl asked her parents. She was certainly going to get a shock when she found out the truth about me, Carter and Sythia. It was a bit of a shame. I was ready for dra-ma!
