Chapter 5: The First Day Part 2/First Week
Name: Luna
Quirk: Bast – She can assume the abilities of any cat, from regular housecats and lions to hybrids such as ligers and tigons. Her quirk is named after Bast, the Egyptian goddess of cats.
Appearance: Though usually taking on appearances of the cats' abilities, her usual look has been compared as eerily similar to a character of the anime RWBY known as Blake, however she has a tail, and they are complete opposites in terms of personality and choice of dress. She's 14.

The next test was the distance run test, which measured how much distance one could cover in 12 minutes. Luna decided a brisk run of about 50 miles per hour was good here, and ended up running about 10 miles, which was the highest for that test, though Luna sure felt tired after that one.
The second-to-last test was the seated toe touch. Here, Luna took a risk. She transformed her arms into that of a Liger's, which resulted in an arm length of about 1.1 meters in length.
The last test was the sit-ups test, which Luna paired up with Bakugo to do. Since Luna's Quirk couldn't really help her here, she just did what her body could do, which was around 63 before she was counted out. Bakugo did more, ending with about 76 or so. She heard Midoriya speaking to Uraraka about his Quirk and couldn't help but feel a little miffed that he was speaking to a girl he barely knew in favor of Luna.
"See what happens when you trust him, Luna? He backstabs you. How many years did you defend him? How many years did he hide his Quirk? Face it Luna; you were being used." Hissed Bakugo, and Luna had a bit of trouble brushing off that comment.
When they finally finished, they gathered around Aizawa for the results.
"Okay, I'll quickly tell you the results. The total is simply the marks you got from each test. It's a waste of time to explain verbally, so I'll show you the results all at once."
Luna spotted Bakugo in third place and herself in fourth place. She felt the pit of her stomach drop, however, when she realized where Midoriya ranked: last place. She looked at Aizawa, hoping for her instincts to tell her if Aizawa was bluffing or not, but, frustratingly, they did not. They seemed to have a mind of their own, which Luna definitely did not appreciate.
"By the way, I was lying about the expulsion." Everyone just stared at Aizawa. He suddenly bared his maniacal smile "It was a rational decision to draw out the upper limits of your Quirks.
"WHAT?!" finally exclaimed the entire class in unison.
"Of course it was a lie." Said Yaoyorozu "It should have been obvious if you just thought it through." Luna sniffed. She had thought it through. She heard rumors, however, of Aizawa expelling his classroom at the drop of a hat, so Luna wasn't entirely sure his threat was without merit.
"That was a little nerve-wracking, huh?" asked Sero.
"I'll take up the challenge anytime!" Exclaimed Kirishima.
"With that, we're done here. There are handouts with the curriculum and such in the classroom, so when you get back, look them over." Midoriya let out a comically large sigh of relief. "Midoriya, have the old lady fix you in the nurse's office. Tomorrow will be packed with even more rigorous tests. Prepare yourself." And with that, Aizawa left and rounded the corner of the building. Suddenly, Luna heard All Might, and pricked her ears.
"Aizawa-kun, you liar!"
"All Might-san. So you were watching? Too much time on your hands?"
"'A rational deception' you said? April Fools was last week. You punished a whole class of last year's first year students with expulsion." So, the rumor DID have merit. Interesting. "You cut those you judge to be without potential without hesitation. For a man like that to take back his words … That must be because you also felt the potential of that kid, right?" Luna quirked an eyebrow at 'also'. Apparently, so did Aizawa.
"'Also'? You seem to be supporting him quite a bit. Is that how a teacher should be acting? His potential was not zero. That's all it was. I will always cut those without potential. There's nothing crueler than letting a dream end midway."
Suddenly, Tokoyami snapped Luna out of her focus "You coming, Luna-chan?"
"Oh, yes. Thank you." The two of them travelled in awkward silence to the locker rooms.
"I, ah, apologize, Tokoyami-kun." He blinked at her.
"For what?"
"For lying to you about my last name."
"Ah, that. To be frank, you had every right to keep that a secret. I can't imagine how awkward the air would have been if you told me the truth when we first met." Luna smiled.
"Thank you for understanding, Tokoyami-kun."
"My pleasure." And with that, Luna entered the locker room, changing and going up to the classroom. She grabbed her syllabus and looked it over. Nothing really surprised her, with her quick glance over making her realize it was pretty basic. Then again, she didn't think Aizawa would make the syllabus too fancy or complex. She left the school and saw Midoriya walking to the train station. Luna debated whether or not to join, when suddenly he was joined by Iida and Uraraka. Sensing she would only make things awkward if she joined them, she merely followed from a distance, all the while smiling that Midoriya finally made a friend and a crush.
When she arrived at home, she still did not see her father, which began to worry Luna. However, she found a note on the fridge saying he left on a business trip and wouldn't return for a few days. Luna shrugged, happy that there would be some relative peace at home. Thankfully, the syllabus didn't require her father's signature, just her own. Luna began to mull over her day. She believed she found a friend in Tokoyami, which was nice. However, she still didn't know how to feel about that scarred boy, who she found out was named Shoto Todoroki. The name felt awfully familiar, and she searched it up. She found plenty of news articles about the boy and his achievements, as well as his parentage.
Ah. His father is Endeavor, the current number two hero. That explains where I heard of him.
Since Luna didn't really have anything to do for the day, she just trained. Nothing too difficult, as she was still tired from the Quirk Assessment Test, but enough to work up a good sweat. After taking a quick shower, Luna just worked around the house, cleaning and such while listening to an up-and-coming music artist who named herself Egypt-chan. Quite a bold strategy, but it worked. Her music was a collage of both hip hop and traditional Egyptian instruments, such as the harp and lute. Luna didn't know why, but she fell in love with the music instantly.
Luna decided that now was a great moment to begin a fresh design, something completely new. What Luna did was usually find a random adjective generator and try to design a whole house based on the adjectives she got, but this time, she wanted to do something a bit different. Luna pulled put her phone, and in separate chats, asked Midoriya, Bakugo, and Tokoyami for three random adjectives. Tokoyami had only recently given his number, but he said that was for tutoring purposes. She knew that other girls might be squealing with joy at having a boy give their number to them, but Luna wasn't that type of girl. She never really had anyone give her the 'girl talk', where they just sat down and talked about boys, but Luna wasn't really interested in dating right now.
Midoriya responded with green, peaceful, and calm. Tokoyami responded with dark, mysterious, and awe-inspiring. Bakugo had yet to respond, but truthfully speaking, Luna would have been amazed if he answered by the end of the week. So, Luna began with what she had. Luna was a pretty good artist, although most of her drawings revolved around concept art of rooms or houses. She didn't have the money for fancy 3-D programs like Masaru Bakugo had, so she made do with what she had. Luna grabbed her laptop and quickly sketched out a lush mountain like area, with a sketch of a roaring waterfall and several cave entrances in the side of the mountain. Luna began with the outside first, then would move onto the separate rooms of the inside. Luna tried to incorporate the green and peaceful while also using Tokoyami's dark and mysterious, and surprisingly enough, it wasn't all too hard to do so. Within two hours, Luna had drawn a mountain that had plenty of flora on it, with a roaring waterfall on the very left side of it. The many cave entrances that Luna wanted were made to be dark and deep, offering nothing for the viewer to guess what lurked in those caves. She sent the sketch to both Midoriya and Tokoyami as a sort of sneak peak of what was to come, and their replies were nothing short of positive.
She continued to work on it until the doorbell rang, and Luna stiffened. No one had ever rung the doorbell before unless they were some door-to-door salesman, so Luna carefully went downstairs to look through the little hole in the door to see who it was. To her compete and utter bewilderment, it was Toshinori Yagi. She undid the locks and opened the door.
"Toshinori-sama, what a pleasant surprise. Please, come in. Have a seat."
"Thanks." Luna led him into the dining/kitchen area, where she gestured for the man to take a seat.
"Would you like some tea or coffee by any chance, Toshinori-sama?"
"Tea would be fantastic, thank you."
"How many scoops of sugar do you usually use?"
"Just one." Luna worked in silence, using an electric kettle to boil the water and pour the tea into a cup, which she dumped 1 teaspoon of sugar into and stirred. She set the tea down in front of the man, who took a grateful sip, but then realized Luna didn't make any for herself. Luna, sensing the impending question, answered:
"I ate two hours ago, Toshinori-sama." Luna waited a moment before continuing "Toshinori-sama, you are always welcome here, but may I inquire as to the reason of your visit?"
"Ah. That. Well, er, you see … uh …" Luna quirked an eyebrow, but she guessed, trying to fill the silence.
"Are you here to look the place over as one of All Might's contacts by any chance, Toshinori-sama?" The man spit the tea in surprise with a surprising amount of blood. When he realized what happened, he began to panic, but Luna waved it off. She grabbed a rag and began to wipe down the table, waiting for Toshinori to say his piece. She couldn't blame the man for not knowing what to say.
"Ah, yes. You see, er, I am one of All Might's, uh, contacts, you could say, and he's taking an interest in the rumors that he heard."
"That's quite admirable of him, but I'm surprised he has the time to worry about one of many students at U.A. High."
"Er, he said something about feeling guilty, and, ah, said he wanted to make sure is all." Said Toshinori awkwardly. Then, he lost his sense of nervousness instantly and leaned forward. "These rumors wouldn't happen to be true, would they, Luna?" Luna froze for a second but forced herself to move.
"As much as I trust you, Toshinori-sama, he is still my father. As his daughter, I do not have the right to speak ill against him. I apologize for the vagueness of my answer, but I can neither confirm nor deny these rumors, however, I heard that Mitsuki Bakugo, mother of Katsuki Bakugo, has heard a lot of rumors. Perhaps she would be able to guide you in the right direction." Toshinori nodded; he didn't expect anything more.
Luna finished wiping the table and threw away the now bloodied rag. She sat back down, resting her chin on her hands. "Toshinori-sama, I don't know whether you know this story, but it seems my father and All Might have a history. Would you perhaps be able to share it? I completely understand if you can't, but this topic has been pestering me for quite some time." Much to Luna's confusion, absolute panic crossed the man's face before he was able to hide it, and it seemed to upset him greatly.
"I, ah, unfortunately do not know the story. Oh, look at the time, I must be leaving now. Thank you for the tea, it was delicious. Goodbye, Luna!" and with that, Toshinori sprinted out of the house, much to Luna's dismay. She didn't like the fact that her questioning resulted in the discontent of Toshinori Yagi.
Luna tried to return to her room, trying to work on her project, but couldn't seem to focus, so she just set it aside for now. Instead, she just lay in bed, questions running through her mind like bullet trains. As Luna felt herself drifting off to sleep, she forced herself to pack most of her backpack and crawl under her covers. Being part cat, Luna had no trouble sleeping up to 15 hours a day, so Luna went to bed, despite it only being six in the evening.
Luna woke up the next day to her alarm, which she turned off and stretched, yawning lazily. She began her new routine and walked downstairs, preparing her breakfast, but not before Luna felt a chill on her neck. Ducking quickly, she heard several somethings smash through the window and sail over her head before embedding themselves in a wall. Crouching and turning to face the window, Luna didn't see anyone or anything. She carefully looked onto the street, but there was no one there. Luna turned her attention to the objects embedded in the wall, which turned out to be several shuriken. However, these weren't some cheap, plastic toys. They were the real deal. Luna carefully removed them from the wall using a paper towel, looking one over. It was black, made of some sort of sharpened steel, and Luna had no doubt that it was dipped in poison. People who used these types of weapons usually did so. She carefully put the shuriken into a plastic bag and wrapped it in a towel.
Luna skipped her breakfast and preparation of her lunch entirely, grabbing her backpack and quickly running to U.A. High in search of her homeroom teacher. Luna didn't know how exactly she would get it onto school grounds, but she needed to. Despite only knowing Aizawa for only a day, she knew he could be trusted. Luna sprinted through the halls, desperately searching for the man before deciding to visit the classroom. It was empty, as today their classes started with English with Present Mic, but thankfully she found the sleeping bag of Aizawa already there.
"Whoever you are, I recommend leaving. I was in the middle of a wonderful nap." Luna hesitated, but decided she had to seek his help.
"Aizawa-sensei, please excuse my barging in, but I desperately need your help." The bag unzipped and Aizawa glared at Luna before noticing her obvious signs of distress. Her ears were twitching and turning wildly, while her tail was acting more like a sweeper than a tail. Aizawa sighed.
"What do you want?" Luna didn't know how to begin but decided starting from the top was necessary.
"I woke up today without a problem, Aizawa-sensei. I was currently making breakfast when suddenly my senses screamed at me to drop like a stone. I did, and these sailed through the living room window, in the space where my head was a few seconds prior." Luna unwrapped the towel from the bag, revealing the shuriken. Aizawa stiffened, approaching the girl. Luna offered the bag to him, which he took carefully, not letting the shuriken puncture the bag.
"Did you touch it with your fingers?" Aizawa asked sharply, but Luna shook her head.
"No, Aizawa-sensei. I used a paper towel to remove it from the wall." Aizawa put on some gloves and carefully removed one of the shuriken, turning it slowly and carefully, studying it. Luna nervously stood, watching him.
"Think carefully. Is there a reason that someone would have to attack you?" Luna hesitated, debating whether or not to tell him about Toshinori's visit yesterday "I recommend you telling me everything, Luna. This is a very serious situation."
"I can only think of two events, really." Began Luna "The first event happened last year, when All Might saved me and Midoriya-kun from a sludge-like villain. It's possible a friend or colleague of his was furious and wanted revenge. The second event is only happened yesterday." Aizawa gave her a sharp glance. "Yesterday, one of All Might's contacts, a man named Toshinori Yagi came to my house." She heard a sharp intake of breath "He was investigating several, ah, rumors, about my father. I accidently said something to upset him, and he left very quickly, though I have no idea as to why that would warrant an attack. That is all, Aizawa-sensei." Aizawa listened to her, not saying anything for a minute or two.
"I sincerely doubt the attack had anything to do with the first event, though I am just as perplexed about the second event. What did your father tell you to do? I can't imagine he would just accept you bringing a weapon like this to school."
Luna shuffled her feet awkwardly "My father is currently on a business trip right now, Aizawa-sensei. He was gone since yesterday."
"And your mother?"
If it was even possible, Luna's tail began to thrash about even faster "She's, ah, not around anymore, Aizawa-sensei." Aizawa narrowed his eyes at her.
"So who are you currently living with?"
Luna contemplated whether to answer the question. If she did, she might be taken away from her father, and there's no telling as to what he would do; if she didn't, she would be risking her safety, lying to a pro hero, and giving the assassin another chance to kill her.
"Answer the question, girl."
"Currently, I'm living … alone." Luna finished quietly; head bowed. Aizawa snorted.
"I'll take this to the proper authorities later. However, I'm assuming you skipped out on breakfast entirely to get here?" Luna nodded, embarrassed. "Then follow me."
Aizawa set off at a brisk pace, with Luna following him. The few students that were already here gave her curious glances but didn't do much else. Eventually, Aizawa led her to a staff-only room, where he pulled out a key.
"Uh, Aizawa-sensei –" Luna began, but didn't get much farther than that.
"I can read, girl. This is a teacher lounge. It has food." Luna understood and followed him in. Inside, a few teachers were already there, and they stopped talking when they noticed Aizawa and her walking in. She felt their gazes on her. Luna flattened her ears but gave a polite bow.
"Go sit next to Present Mic." Luna did as instructed.
"Excuse me, Present Mic-sensei, but may I sit here?" she asked
"Oh, uh, sure thing kid." Luna sat down, feeling the awkward tension in the room.
Aizawa handed her a plate with a couple of peanut-butter sandwiches, which Luna gratefully took and began to eat. Then, Present Mic addressed the elephant in the room. Or, more appropriately, the cat in the room.
"Yo, Eraser Head. What's with the girl?"
"She's here for breakfast." Said Aizawa, taking a seat next to Luna.
"I, uh, can see that, but my question is why couldn't she do it at home."
"I could leave if you feel bothered by my presence. Please forgive me, sensei." Luna tried to get up, but Aizawa grabbed her wrist, basically commanding her to remain seated.
"The reason she is here is because she was attacked at her own home." Luna shifted uncomfortably while the teachers around her began to mutter.
"Attacked?" asked the pro hero Ectoplasm.
"Yes. There was an assassination attempt on her life. Would any of you recognize this? I believe I know it, but I would like a second opinion." asked Eraser Head, pulling the bag with the shuriken. The teachers passed them around, with each carefully studying it. Finally, Ectoplasm spoke.
"This is bad, Aizawa-kun. Really bad. I recognize the shuriken from my experience; it is made by one of the most prodigious and prestigious villain organizations; The Phantom Cloak." Luna furrowed her brows; what could they possibly want with her? "According to my sources, they recently joined a villain organization called the League of Villains. Despite the power and influence they have, they essentially prostrated themselves to this League, meaning that this new group is serious." Luna gulped. Aizawa turned to face her.
"Luna, go to class, it should be starting relatively soon." Luna wanted to protest, but saw the look Aizawa gave her, so she bowed to the teachers and left. She entered the classroom, finding most of the class already there, so she just chose a random seat. Her mind buzzed with the information that she learned. Luna found it highly coincidental that she was attacked the very next day after her father left, meaning that it was likely tied together. Suddenly, she was snapped out of her daze when Present Mic burst into the room.
And, like Aizawa warned them the previous, day, Present Mic completely ignored orientation and such. He jumped straight into grammar, much to the disappointment of the class. Considering Luna was from Canada, the class was basically a breeze, and Luna suddenly had a premonition that she'd be used by her classmates as a tutor at midterms. The class stretched for an hour, but before Luna could leave, Present Mic pulled her aside.
"Hey! Luna!" cried Present Mic.
Luna cringed slightly "Present Mic-sensei, what can I do for you?"
"Oh, so polite! So polite! I can see why Eraser Head likes you, huh?" he nudged her "Maybe you could be a good influence for him, eh? Anyways, he wanted you to go down to the teacher lounge during lunch. You remember where that is, right?"
"Yes, Sensei. I remember. Thank you for the information." Luna left with a bow, listening to Present Mic talking to himself. Man, what a weirdo.
Next was mathematics with Ectoplasm, which wasn't all too hard, but they learned new things instead of just review, which was nice. The class wasn't anything special, but it was a lot quieter than Present Mic's class, which Luna appreciated. Before lunch, Luna's final class was Modern Literature with Sementoss. Luna liked this class a lot, as Sementoss promised lots of reading, which many students groaned about. Luna didn't care. A book was a book, and Luna liked reading. Not as much as deigning, but reading was nice.
Finally, the bell rang, and as she left and turned a corner, she bumped into Midoriya. He panicked.
"A-Ah, Luna-chan! H-Hi!" stuttered the boy. Luna just sighed.
"Midoriya-kun. I'm not mad at you about your Quirk. Slightly disappointed, sure, but I understand. Please stop panicking. It's making me uncomfortable." Midoriya visibly brightened.
"Oh, great! Thank you, Luna-chan! Would you like to sit with Uraraka-chan, Iida-kun, and I during lunch?"
"I would love to, but Aizawa-sensei asked for me. I think he wants to apologize for yesterday or something." Deku wilted.
"O-oh. Okay then. See you later!" And he took off. Luna sighed again. She was getting whiplash from the boy's constantly changing emotions.
Luna made her way to the teacher's lounge and knocked on the door, announcing her presence as Luna. Luna waited for 1 minute. 5 minutes. 10 minutes. Finally, after waiting 20 minutes, a very annoyed looking Aizawa opened the door.
"I swear, Midnight-san, if you lost your keys – oh. It's you."
"It's me. Hello, Aizawa-sensei."
"You waited for 20 minutes?"
"Just about, Aizawa-sensei."
"You could have just announced yourself; you know."
"Uh, but I did, Aizawa-sensei."
"Oh. Come in then." And Luna entered. There were no teachers here this time, just Aizawa and her. Looking at the table between the couches, she saw an ordered meal waiting for the two of them. Luna absently thought that it kind of looked like a date, but then realized that A: Aizawa wasn't like that and B: Aizawa certainly was no romantic. The food in question was just an extra-large pizza, and Luna quirked an eyebrow. Aizawa noticed.
"What?" he asked.
"Is this how you always eat, Aizawa-sensei?"
"Yes. Is that a problem? Is it too poor for your tastes?"
"No, I actually like it. It's bad for your health if you always eat like this."
"You think I don't know?"
"Pardon me, Aizawa-sensei, but I believe you just don't care." He grunted, admitting defeat.
"I suppose it's alright to eat like this maybe once every two-weeks or so, but no more. You're lucky I don't have much time left; else I would have made a healthy meal for the both of us." This time, Aizawa arched an eyebrow but said nothing, taking a slice. Luna took one as well. They ate in silence. When they finished, Luna grabbed the box and threw it away. Suddenly, Aizawa spoke.
"Luna, I, along with some other teachers, have decided that it is too dangerous for you to live by yourself. Until you father comes back from his … business trip, you should live with me."
"Aizawa-sensei, I appreciate the gesture, but what if he comes back and I'm not there?"
"Ah. You're worried about the fact that your father despises heroes and what he will do once he finds out you're living with one while he is away." Lina flinched, startled at how easily he read her. "I'll deal with that. Once the school day ends, come to the homeroom." Luna nodded, and the bell rang. "Now, I believe you have class with All Might-san. Run along."
Luna bowed, said her farewell, and jogged back to classroom 1-A. She sat down and leaned back, closing her eyes. She felt Todoroki's gaze on her again, but this time, it didn't bother her for some reason. It actually felt kind of nice, which was startling, but Luna shrugged. Suddenly, she was jolted out of her musing by All Might.
"I am … coming through the door like a normal person!" Luna's eyes widened.
For the love of God, please don't be as loud as Present Mic-sensei. Luna silently pleaded. Around her, students began to get excited.
"It's All Might!" Kaminari exclaimed.
"Wow, he really is a teacher!" added Kirishima.
"That's a costume from the Silver Age, isn't it?" mused Asui as All Might pranced to the teacher's podium.
"Its style is so different, it's giving me goosebumps." Said Ojiro.
"I teach Hero Basic Training. It's a subject where you train in many different ways to learn the basics of becoming a hero. You'll take the most units of this subject! Let's get right into it! This is what we'll do today – Combat Training!" shouted All Might "And to go with that are these! Costumes made based on you Quirk registrations and requests you sent in before school started."
The entire exclaimed with excitement and Luna looked at her locker, interested to see exactly what her costume looked like. Luna wanted a costume that added to her senses, such as goggles that saw in infra-red and heat. She also wanted a costume that was light and flexible without being too weak to take a hit, so she suggested several types of material for her costume, in hopes that the designers would choose the best one. Luna was by no means a clothing designer, so she wrote a side note to the designers that should any of her ideas be bad, they had permission to change it.
"After you change, gather in Ground Beta!" The entire class cheered and grabbed their costumes. Luna grabbed hers and made her way to the locker room. When she entered, she saw her fellow female classmates talking excitedly. Luna was still somewhat of an outcast among her peers, so Luna ignored them and pulled out her costume. First, she pulled out a helmet. It was a dark purple color, with goggles and several buttons on the side of her head. She pulled out the manual and quickly skimmed it. The beginning was just a thank you for choosing the company to make the suit, but Luna wasn't interested in that. Finally, Luna found the instructions.
The blue button on the right side of the helmet is what changes between the different modes of the helmet. There are five in total: normal, thermal, heartbeat, infra-red, and ultra-violet. Normal is pretty self-explanatory, just like a pane of glass (it's not actually made of glass). Thermal is the mode that allows you to see differences in heat signatures. The brighter the color, the warmer the object. Heartbeat is a very new mode; it detects the ultra-low-frequency electric field generated by a person's beating heart. However, this mode has a range of about 10 meters and the operating distance can be further reduced if used through thick walls and objects, so take heed. Infra-red vision allows one to "see" things that are not visible. For example, it can detect people with invisibility or illusion Quirks, as well as people that can negate the advantage of thermal. Ultraviolet is a mode that is more suited to crime scene investigation, allowing for the user to see things such as blood, bacteria, and seminal fluids.
Luna hummed in appreciation; this was one advanced piece of technology. Hagakure certainly wouldn't like it, that's for sure. Whatever should happen, she could not give it to Minata or Kaminari; those two already proved themselves as perverts.
Another aspect of the helmet is that it allows for better vision and hearing than normal. Pressing the green button allows for increased vision by up to 3x. Pressing it again gives you night vision and pressing it a third time reverts vision back to normal. The yellow button activates the "ears", allowing the user to hear conversations up to 30 meters away with perfect clarity. Again, objects such as walls may reduce the effectiveness of the "ears". The final button, the red button, is covered for a reason; it is a self-destruct button. This button should be used only as a last resort when no other options are available. However, there are a series of steps one must go through to activate it, just in case the user accidently presses the button, so no harm should befall the user should they accidently press it.
The rest of the manual were just warnings and information about charging the helmet, which Luna would read later. Next, she pulled out her actual suit. It was similar to the uniform of an acrobat or gymnast in that it was flexible, light, and stretchy. It was also a dark purple, except it had a huge silver paw on the back of it. Luna smiled. She finally pulled out a very soft pair of boots, which a note stated was specifically made to reduce the sounds the user made while walking. Luna was already quiet, so this would be very useful for her. She changed and made her way to Ground Beta, where she already saw some of her fellow peers in their costumes. Iida looked like a Transformer, Yaoyorozu was wearing an interesting one-piece, exposing a small part of the sides of her breasts and going down to her bellybutton; it was, however, skintight, so the girl didn't have to worry about flashing anyone. Mineta and Kaminari would have a field day with her. Tokoyami was wearing all black, exposing his arms which had one black wristband on each. Todoroki was wearing what appeared to be a green track suit, with gauntlets and a heavy looking silver belt. When he saw her looking, he nodded politely. Startled, Luna nodded back and made her way to Tokoyami.
"Ah, Luna-chan. I like your costume. It looks comfortable."
"Thank you, Tokoyami-kun, it is. I like yours as well; simple, but efficient. It looks good on you." He seemed startled by the compliment and nodded awkwardly. Wait. Were his feathers slightly red?
"Ah, thank you. I wasn't trying to go for anything too complicated. I just wanted something that would allow me to move freely with my Quirk. Your helmet looks very complicated."
"It's really not; the buttons just change the mode of the helmet. I can show the manual to you later if you'd like." Tokoyami nodded and All Might finally appeared.
"They say the clothes make the man, young men and ladies. Be fully aware. From now on, you are heroes! That's great, everyone! You all look cool! Now, shall we begin, you zygotes?" He glanced at Midoriya's costume and shuddered slightly before leading them to a building. Luna didn't blame him; it was obvious what parts were influenced by him.
"Now, it's time for combat training!"
"Sensei!" interrupted Iida "This is a battle center from the entrance exam, so will we be conducting urban battles again?" Luna shook her head slightly. Iida was still so impatient.
"No, we're going to move ahead to steps! Most of the time, fighting villains takes place outside, but if you look at the total numbers, atrocious villains appear indoors at a higher rate. Imprisonment, house arrest, backroom deals – In this society filled with heroes, truly intelligent villains hide in the shadows! For this class, you will be split into villains and heroes and fight two on two indoor battles."
"Without basic training?" asked Asui.
"This is a real battle to understand those basics! However, the key this time is that there is no robot you can just beat up."
"How will wins and losses be determined?" asked Yaoyorozu.
"Can we beat them up anyways?" demanded Bakugo.
"Will the punishment be expulsion like with Aizawa-sensei?" worried Uraraka.
"How shall we split up?" asked Iida.
"Is this cape crazy?" asked Aoyama. Luna had enough.
"Guys, can you wait until he finishes?" snapped Luna "You're all like Iida-kun at the entrance exam!" That shut everyone up and All Might mouthed Luna a silent 'Thank you'.
He pulled out a pair of reading glasses and a little booklet. "Now listen here. The situation is that the villains have hidden a nuclear weapon somewhere in their hideout. The heroes are trying to dispose of that. The heroes need to catch the villains or get the nuclear weapon back in the allotted time. The villains need to protect the nuclear weapon for the whole time or catch the heroes." Huh. This sounded a lot like a bunch of crappy American movies. Luna seriously hoped that All Might didn't just steal it from one of them. However, considering his attacks were name after American states and cities, Luna wasn't too confident.
"Teams and opponents will be determined by drawing lots."
"They're being decided to haphazardly?" blurted Iida. Luna's tail began to whip back and forth in irritation.
"Pros often have to create makeshift teams with heroes from other agencies, so maybe that's why?" answered Midoriya.
"I see. The discernment to look ahead … Please excuse my rudeness, All Might-sensei and Luna-san!"
"It's fine, lets do this quickly!" Luna drew a lot and realized she was paired with Ojiro, the boy with the tail. She was hoping she would be paired with Midoriya, Bakugo, or Tokoyami, but it was fine. This was going to be very interesting. She saw that Midoriya was paired with his crush Uraraka, Bakugo was paired with Iida, and Tokoyami was paired with Asui. Luna hoped she didn't go against Tokoyami and Asui. From what little she gathered, they were smart and dangerous. She walked up to Ojiro.
"Hello there. You must be Ojiro-san." Luna said. The boy jumped slightly but turned to her.
"Y-yeah. That's me. You're Luna-san, right?" Luna nodded.
"The first teams to fight will be … Teams A and D!" Luna sweat dropped. Team A was Midoriya and Uraraka, while Team D was Bakugo and Iida. The fact that Midoriya and Bakugo had to fight was going to make this very, very messy. She really hoped that Bakugo didn't hurt the boy too badly.
Dun dun dun! It's time for the first battle of Quirks between Midoriya and Bakugo! Poor Luna has to watch as one of her closest friends attacks another with revenge and pain in mind. Hope you enjoyed the chapter! Stay safe out there! – Bananaman out!
