Hello my dear readers, here I am again with a new chapter!
Unfortunately, it took longer than expected because I just couldn't find the time to finish it. I'm so sorry you had to wait so long.
But in general you can expect one or sometimes two chapters per week, depending on my time.
Anyway, please enjoy reading now!
Warning: Mentions of blood and description of cutting.
If you are sensitive to this kind of content I would advise you to stop reading at this point.
And for those, who have no problem with it, have fun!
Law yawned as he lay awake in bed with his hands clasped under his head. It was already very early in the morning, which he could easily see in the slightly lit sky through the tiny gap between the thick curtains. The surgeon had gotten little sleep, as his thoughts were constantly revolving around the young man he had housed in his secret bunker last night.
Law sighed deeply as he turned his sleepy gaze to the red mop of hair on his chest. His boyfriend had snuggled close to his body in his sleep, using his chest as a pillow. Law could feel Kid's drool on his naked torso as he then lifted his right hand the next moment to stroke it through his boyfriend's hair. Law couldn't deny that he had missed him, after all he loved him despite feeling left alone by Kid.
Law was aware that Kid didn't really want to be away from home all the time. But what Law absolutely couldn't understand was why he didn't look for another job instead and thus put his career above their relationship. That's exactly what hurt Law. So much so that he even felt that his once strong feelings for Kid were gradually fading away. No, he was pretty sure that he no longer had any romantic feelings for Kid. The only thing that still bound him to his boyfriend was that he had already spent many years together with him and that Kid had helped him get through his worst times in life.
Law just didn't want to let the redhead disappear from his life so easily, yet at the same time he could no longer resist his unbearable desire for Luffy. Even at this moment he couldn't, as Law slowly let his eyelids fall shut and he began to imagine the black haired boy instead of Kid on his chest, still delicately running his long fingers through his partner's soft hair.
How he wished that Luffy could be with him now, that he could enjoy his closeness and nestle him even closer to his own body and spend the last warm minutes he had left, until he had to get ready for work cuddling with him in bed. At the thought, the corners of his mouth lifted into a slight grin and just as he was about to move his hand further down along the face, his alarm clock rudely brought him back from his dreamy state to reality.
Law blinked his eyes open in annoyance and reached out his hand, with which he had just caressed Kid, for his phone, which was on the nightstand next to him. Completely blinded by the brightness of the screen, he squinted his eyes as he turned off the alarm and glanced at the time. Law had completely forgotten that he had set his alarm half an hour earlier than usual, since he had planned to take a shower and check on Luffy before Kid got up.
His entire body was already tingling at the thought of seeing the young firefighter again, which is why he now carefully pushed the body of his boyfriend, who was still deeply asleep despite the alarm, away from his upper body and thus gently placed Kid's head on the pillow next to him. With a last look at the calm sleeping face of the redhead, he sat at the edge of the bed for a short while. But just as he was about to get up, a hand suddenly held onto his wrist, which was closely followed by a soft "Stay."
Caught off guard, Law turned his head to Kid, who was staring at him with half-open eyes, his grip on Law's wrist unwavering. "I thought you'd still be asleep, like you always are when the alarm goes off." Law said, his voice still hoarse from sleep. He was rather unpleased to see his boyfriend already awake.
"Please stay." Kid murmured again, half asleep, and yawned heartily. Law let out a short sigh and bit his lower lip. He really didn't have time to cuddle right now, which they usually did occasionally in the morning, and thereupon quickly released his wrist from Kid's grasp before standing up. "Sorry, but I don't have time for that today. Gotta leave early." Law declined, as he then quickly turned away from Kid and headed over to their shared closet.
Kid just moaned obtrusively, rolling onto his right side in bed to watch Law, who was now standing in front of the closet with his back turned to him clad only in a pair of silky boxer shorts.
"Please honey, I missed you so much." Kid continued to plead as he enjoyed the perfect sight that presented itself to him at the same moment. Slowly, the redhead let his eyes wander over Law's defined, tattooed back to his firm round butt and he realized once again how much he had actually missed this man, longed for him.
However, Law continued to give him the cold shoulder while he hurriedly gathered fresh clothes from his own side of the closet. Kid knew exactly that once Law denied something, there was no chance of convincing him, which is why he now gave up with a disappointed sigh.
When Law had his things he needed, he gave Kid an apologetic kiss on the forehead, which pleased his opposite and put a smile on his face. "You still look exhausted and should sleep some more. Meanwhile, I'll take a quick shower." And with these words, the surgeon then made his way out of the room towards the bathroom, where he then got rid of his boxers and got into the shower.
Normally, Law enjoyed spending a lot of time in the shower, just unwinding and feeling the splashing water on his body, but this time he found himself out of the shower as quickly as he had gotten in.
Finished dressing, he picked up his boxer shorts, which he had previously carelessly dropped on the floor, to put it in the laundry basket. Then he ran his hand through his towel-dried hair, while he examined himself in the mirror. Satisfied, Law then opened the door that led out into the narrow hallway and was instantly hit with the smell of food, specifically pancakes and also fresh coffee.
All at once his mood dropped as he followed the hallway into the living room. From there he saw Kid in front of the stove in the open kitchen, as he prepared the pancakes, humming a song to himself. Actually, he wanted to go down to Luffy, but he could probably forget that now. As long as Kid was in the house, it would be difficult to constantly go down to the basement without looking suspicious.
Law noticed how the urge inside him became unbearable again. He didn't want to and couldn't stay away from Luffy any longer. The surgeon noticed how the indescribable feeling overcame him again, which became noticeable by a trembling in his hands, and tried to calm himself down and suppress his yearning as best he could by taking a deep breath.
Just in time, as the next moment Kid turned around with the finished pancakes on two plates in his hands and greeted him with a smile. "Oh hey honey, you finished quickly today. Did you enjoy your shower?" Asked Kid as he set the plates down on the already set kitchen island. Law just looked confused as he couldn't explain how his boyfriend could prepare all the breakfast in such a short time. On top of that, Kid was also over motivated than usual.
Law eyed the grinning redhead in puzzlement, having never seen him like this before. Normally it was always Law who prepared breakfast, since Kid preferred to sleep until the last possible minute. "What are you doing here?" Law asked back incredulously, ignoring his boyfriend's question. Only upon closer inspection did he notice that the pancakes were heart-shaped. He cringed at the sight.
Kid's smile fell immediately when he could tell from his boyfriend's face that he didn't seem to like it. And yet he had put so much effort into it. "I made us breakfast, don't you like it?" Kid pouted disappointedly and sat down on the bar stool opposite Law, who had already taken a seat. "Well…you know I don't like cheesy stuff like that, but thanks anyway, babe." Law hesitated a bit with his answer, also not wanting to hurt Kid's feelings, which he probably did anyway. "I know...it was just supposed to be special. You know, I want to make it up to you." Kid explained his intentions, and then his gaze drifted away from Law again, clearly depressed. Law felt like an idiot. Why did he always have to be so honest? His boyfriend had only meant well.
"I appreciate that. Thanks." Murmured Law before taking the first bite of the pancake, watching his partner go a little overboard with the maple syrup. Law himself has never really been able to stand sweet stuff, which is why he preferred to eat the pancakes without any addition. His black coffee was quite enough.
The next few minutes passed quietly between the two, while Law ate his breakfast silently, wiggling one leg nervously, and Kid poked thoughtfully at his pancakes with his fork and propped his head up with his other hand. Law glanced impatiently at the wall clock as he frantically devised a plan to get down to his bunker. Since they both usually left the house at the same time, it would be noticeable if he took too long in the basement, even though he often spent all his free time there, but only when Kid was away on a business trip.
"Hey, how about we go to the cinema tonight? You know, watch that movie with ninjas. You like that one, don't you?" Kid suddenly suggested, interrupting the eerie silence between them. Law, who by now was finished with his pancakes, took a sip from his coffee cup before then giving a response. "I saw that one two weeks ago with Shachi and Penguin. It's not in theaters anymore."
"Oh, and I promised to watch it with you...I'm sorry, honey." The redhead apologized and scratched the back of his head sheepishly.
It was always the same for Law and he was getting tired of it. He was constantly given empty promises and then had to listen to his partner's cheap excuses every time. Today was no different, even though he could see how hard Kid was trying to make up for his absence. But it was just never good enough.
"It's fine." Law replied dryly, all too used to it, then finished the last few sips of his now lukewarm coffee and put his dishes in the sink. Kid bit his lower lip in exasperation as he tried to suggest something else instead. "And how about we just go somewhere for dinner?" Kid tried again with another idea to at least spend some time together with Law no matter what. The redhead grinned in anticipation, turning to his boyfriend, who was now pouring himself a glass of water on the kitchen counter behind him.
Law shrugged his shoulders and emptied his glass in one go, which helped to cool his head a bit. The more time passed, the more impatient he became. The whole situation with Kid was dragging on, so he had to get rid of the redhead before it was too late.
"You know what, how about we just spend tonight at home? I'll cook us something and then we'll watch a movie together on the couch?" Suggested Law this time, annoyed as he was getting tired of this conversation. He nervously tapped his fingers on the kitchen counter as he waited for Kid's answer. Kid considered this suggestion for a little while and then finally agreed, even if he found the idea rather unspectacular, since they usually did this when he was at home anyway. But if that was what his boyfriend wanted to do, it should be fine with him, since the ulterior motive was to spend time together no matter how and in which way.
"Well then, I'm off to work, if there's nothing else to talk about." Said Law and quickly pushed himself away from the kitchen counter he had been leaning against, whereupon he went back into the bedroom to get ready and fetch the rest of his things, leaving his boyfriend puzzled in the kitchen.
"Don't you want me to drive you to work?" Asked Kid as Law came back into the living room. "No need. I'd rather walk to the hospital now. It's almost around the corner anyway." Answered Law casually, which Kid didn't take very well, since he was used to them driving to work together. Since when had Law decided to change this?
"But...okay, if you say so. See you tonight then." Kid responded wistfully as he followed Law down the hall to the front door the next moment, whereupon Law disappeared through the door after a short time after putting on his shoes.
Sighing heavily, Kid let the door fall shut. The redhead didn't know if Law was just mad at him for leaving him alone for almost three weeks, or if there was more to Law's cold behavior toward him. But all Kid knew was that he just couldn't shake the uneasy feeling that something was wrong, because he had never seen Law like that before, no matter how long he had been gone. But maybe he was just overthinking it…
Without giving it any more thought, he now decided to get ready for work as well. Full of hope for tonight, for which he had been longing for a long time, Kid went to the bedroom to get changed.
Law, on the other hand, had barely moved a step away from the house and was waiting behind a hedge in the front yard, until his boyfriend would leave the house. Even though he felt like an idiot, he couldn't think of any other spontaneous solution. Again and again he looked nervously at the time, but by now he didn't care how late he would get to work, it was rather still the impatience together with the trembling in his hands that plagued him. Besides, there were no important operations scheduled for him today, which also left him some time.
"Come on, come on..." Law kept muttering impatiently under his breath. The wait finally came to an end after a few minutes when Kid stepped out of the front door, locked it thoroughly, and made his way through the front yard to the car. Law watched his every move and finally breathed a sigh of relief when Kid started the engine and drove away.
Without waiting even a second longer, Law ran to the door, hastily unlocked it and entered. But just before he made his way down to the basement, he remembered that the young man would certainly be hungry and thirsty, so he decided to quickly prepare him a sandwich. To do this, he unpacked two slices of toast, which he himself absolutely detested and only had in stock because it was eaten by Kid, from one of the cupboards and topped it with the ingredients he still had left in the refrigerator.
After putting it on a plate and grabbing a small water bottle, he was ready to go down to the basement. His heart was beating like crazy in his chest the closer he got to Luffy. Law himself was surprised how fast his legs carried him down the stairs and then finally through the narrow entrance of the bunker, until he came to a stop in front of the object of his desire.
Law knelt down and placed the plate on the floor with the bottle in his hands, not taking his eyes off Luffy. The young firefighter was still unconscious and sitting in exactly the same position as he had left him last night. Law looked at him intently for a while before hesitantly raising his hand to stroke it across Luffy's pale cold cheek.
The surgeon had missed him so much since he had suddenly disappeared four days ago after the fire accident in his apartment. Nevertheless, Law had visited the bar every day, hoping that he would reappear there at some point, until last night. The surgeon had watched him sitting at the bar, all alone and miserable, downing one hard drink after another.
Law couldn't tell if he felt sad for Luffy or if he was happier than ever about it, since such rotten cheaters as his big brother and boyfriend deserved such a cruel end anyway. In addition, a possibility had arisen for him to get to Luffy and that even without him having to do anything about it himself. Law could hardly believe it, but fate really had to be on his side.
Luffy definitely deserved better than such scum in his life. In Law's eyes, he should be the last to have to endure such suffering. Never again would Law allow other people to hurt Luffy like this.
Law let his long fingers continue to gently remove the strands of hair from Luffy's face, while that very movement suddenly caused Luffy's closed eyes to twitch as the raven haired boy seemed to slowly regain consciousness. Law tugged his hand back in surprise and a soft moan was heard from Luffy as his eyelids fluttered open. Luffy's blurred vision gradually cleared as he then looked into the face of the person staring intrusively at him. The black haired boy blinked a few times and it took a while for the fog in his mind to clear.
Where was he and who was this person?
"Wha' happened...who…?" Luffy croaked out in confusion, barely recognizing his own voice as his throat seemed too dry to speak. He could also feel an uncomfortable pressure in his head, which was probably the sign of an oncoming hellish headache.
"Shhh, have a drink first." Law reassured him as he could see the slight panic and confusion in Luffy's onyx eyes and unscrewed the lid of the water bottle. Law held the bottle out to Luffy, who gave him a suspicious look, unsure if it was okay to accept the water. But the burning sensation in his throat practically forced him to accept it, whereupon Luffy hesitantly took the bottle with a slightly shaky hand. The first hesitant sips turned into big greedy gulps, as he only now realized how thirsty he actually was, until he finally drank almost the entire bottle. Law watched him with amusement and then took the bottle from Luffy's hand, setting it aside.
"Feeling better now?" Law asked as he put a little distance between himself and the young man when Luffy suddenly sat up straight with a jerk. Since the water had helped him come to his senses, the first thing he noticed was the shackle on his foot. The firefighter's eyes widened as he realized the situation he was in, and all at once, upon closer inspection, Luffy recognized the face of the strange man in front of him.
"What...?...Y-You're the doctor from the hospital again...Why am I tied up? What the hell do you want from me?" Shouted Luffy in a panic and grabbed Law by the collar, catching him off guard. Luffy had gotten so close to Law that the tips of their noses were almost touching, leaving the older of the two speechless. Luffy's eyes, radiating rage, looked deep into Law's orbs, sending a shiver down the surgeon's spine.
"Please calm down...I won't harm you." Law tried to calm him down, but the young man didn't want to believe him. It was understandable, since nobody would trust a stranger like him in such an obscure situation. "Let me go!" Luffy yelled at him louder than before and strengthened his grip on Law's collar. Law, however, found Luffy's commanding expression quite amusing and just grinned mischievously.
"And what if I don't? What are you going to do about it?" Law asked him provocatively, still grinning. Law's amused manner infuriated Luffy even more. "You'll let me go right now, or else-"
"Or else what?" Law replied confidently, to which Luffy raised his other fist the next moment to strike, but was immediately grabbed by his wrist. Luffy gasped in surprise at Law's quick reflex, and you could see the rising fear in his eyes. The firefighter could clearly feel the strength in Law's grip with which he held him back and before Luffy knew it he was also grabbed by the other arm with tremendous speed and was pressed against the tiled ice-cold wall behind him, his head banging against the hard surface in the process. Luffy gasped in pain, yet he didn't let his ominous gaze falter for a single second.
Law snickered at Luffy's pathetic attempt to hit him, as he now held him against the wall by both wrists above his head, giving Luffy no room to escape. Not that the black haired man had even the slightest chance to escape, at least not as long as he was tied up. Luffy tried to fight Law's strength and struggled in his tight grip, but the attempt was in vain. Shockingly, Luffy had to realize that the older one had the upper hand and thus complete control over him.
"Hey, now don't look at me like that and calm down!" Law warned the young man, who was still looking at him with a hateful look in his eyes, causing Law a stabbing pain in his chest. But the doctor was sure that he would change that contempt in Luffy's eyes over time. Law just needed some more time.
"Let. Me. Go!" Luffy growled, gritting his teeth. However, his opposite didn't even come close to thinking of doing so. Instead, he approached Luffy's face, deliberately letting the tip of his nose slide over his cheek to his ear, where he then paused. Luffy could clearly feel his captor's hot breath against his ear, which sent an icy shiver down his spine and he had to swallow hard. At the same time, his heart beat violently against his rip cage and Luffy was sure that the other was also able to hear it clearly.
"If you obey me, I won't be forced to hurt you, and trust me, I mean you no harm." Law whispered into the young man's ear, brushing Luffy's earlobe with his lips, eliciting a small whimper from Luffy. Law remained in this position for a while, enjoying the closeness of the other as he listened to his heavy breathing and at the same time sucked the unique smell of Luffy deep into his lungs. Law could remain in this position forever, but unfortunately he was aware that he would have to leave soon.
"What...what do you want from me?" Luffy wanted to know, and his voice sounded unintentionally pitiful. He cursed himself at that moment for not being able to free himself from this man. He was so pathetically weak.
"You." Law replied dryly, which made Luffy's eyes widen in shock and he had to swallow hard once again. "I want you." The doctor repeated more emphatically as he raised his head again to look into Luffy's face, not wanting to miss the young man's reaction to his words. Luffy's facial expression, on the other hand, changed from surprised to disgusted as he was once again forced to look into the eyes of his captor, who only took pleasure in his helpless state.
"Fuck you." Luffy snarled in return, which only pleased his opposite even more, whereupon the latter then detached himself from him and stood up from his kneeling position, not averting his gaze from Luffy. The strange man's eerie fixed gaze triggered something in Luffy that he couldn't really describe. He just didn't know what, but the doctor clearly had something intimidating about him. Luffy had never been so intimidated by anyone in his entire life, never even felt any kind of fear. What was wrong with him?
"I have to go now. You'd better eat something. I brought you a sandwich." Law said casually, pointing to the plate. Luffy's eyes followed Law's finger and caught sight of the sandwich. The young firefighter had never felt so screwed in his life. Was this man goddamn serious?
"Are you serious? You're actually going to leave me here, tied up on a chain like a freaking dog?" Luffy asked appalled, still unable to believe what he was witnessing. This had to be a nightmare.
"I'm sorry, but I have no other choice at the moment." Law answered honestly, and he found it just as hard to leave his beloved boy alone in this state. "So you're sorry, huh? You're insane." Laughed Luffy incredulously. Law just ignored the insult. "I'll be back later." Said the surgeon then and turned away from the raven haired. But he suddenly stopped in his tracks as he turned his head over his shoulder one last time. "Oh, and no matter how loud you scream, no one will be able to hear you in this room. So don't even try." Law told Luffy before he finally left the young man.
"Hey wait! Come back!"
Luffy slumped back against the wall as his shouts for the man did nothing to bring him back. Completely stunned, he pulled his legs to his body and wrapped his arms around them. Why did this have to happen to him? Wasn't it enough that he had to suffer through the betrayal of his brother and boyfriend?
Apparently not, because now he also had to be kidnapped by a creepy doctor. Luffy could not even remember how it could come to this. The last memory he could recall was how he had sat in the bar and last talked on the phone with Zoro, who had sounded absolutely worried about him. The rest was just a blur. Luffy couldn't imagine how worried sick all his friends must be about him now. And after a quick scan of his pockets, he quickly realized that his phone had also been taken from him, which was actually quite obvious.
So he couldn't make any contact with the outside world and screaming didn't help him either. Moreover, he was tied up. In short, he was screwed. Luffy felt like crying, if he hadn't already cried himself dry in the last few days. He had to get out of here, but how?
Looking for a way out, the young firefighter looked around the room. The right part of the chamber was completely empty, while on the left side of him was a metal stretcher that looked like it came straight from a hospital, and behind it was a small laboratory workstation with a sink and small cabinets on the wall above the work surface. A strange place, Luffy thought to himself, and at the same time began to feel afraid, as he had seen such a setting in many horror films. A shiver ran down his body at the thought that this strange doctor was probably planning to kill him. He did not want to imagine the rest.
In order to get a closer look at all the objects, Luffy stood up and walked to the small laboratory. He noticed that the chain of his shackle was just enough to get close to the objects, but it was not enough for him to reach the exit door. At least the man had been gracious enough to give him some space to walk around.
Curious, he explored each of the cabinets and drawers and was disappointed to find that there was nothing useful for him in them. All the young man found were empty glass containers, some small vials with unknown substances and liquids and some bandages. But when he opened the last drawer, he discovered a single scalpel inside. This finding gave him some hope that he could use it to pick the lock on his ankle.
But could it really be that his captor left such an important object just like that in the drawer with free access for Luffy? Luffy still wasn't sure if it would actually help him loosen his shackles, but even if it didn't, he could use the scalpel to his advantage in other ways, like as a weapon. To work it out, Luffy ran back to his original spot, settled on the floor and immediately set about opening the lock on his foot.
But after what felt like hours of temptation, he had achieved no success in picking the lock. The whole action had done nothing but intensify his headache and, admittedly, he was also starting to get hungry. The loud growl of his stomach echoed throughout the room as he put his hand over his stomach while leaning back against the cool wall. Since there were no windows in the room, Luffy did not know what time of day it was at the moment, but he was sure that he had already missed at least two meals, which his stomach, writhing with hunger, only confirmed. The black haired young man sighed deeply as his gaze fell on the sandwich the doctor had placed beside him. His mouth watered at the sight, but he hesitated to eat it. What if his captor wanted to poison him?
The almost empty water bottle lying carelessly next to it reminded Luffy that the water he had drunk before was fine, which must mean that the man had no intention of poisoning him. After a few more minutes of deliberation, his empty stomach finally prevailed, so he grabbed the sandwich and greedily ate it. When he was done, he drank the remaining bit of water he had left and threw the empty plastic bottle carelessly to the side. Even if the little bit of food was not enough for him in the least, he was at least somewhat satiated for the moment and did not have to listen to the annoying growling of his stomach.
Now he had done everything there was to do in the room and was bored out of his mind. Luffy curled up into a ball and rubbed his arms as a shiver went through his body as it started to get colder in the room. His hoody wasn't really enough to keep him warm, so he was probably doomed to freeze to death in the room.
And maybe it was better that way. Sooner or later the doctor would kill him anyway and if he had to choose between a cruel dismemberment of his body parts as death and freezing to death, then the latter was definitely the better way to bite the dust. Besides, his life was a tragedy anyway. After his two dearest people in this world had betrayed him and at the same time left him forever, he didn't have much life energy left. He couldn't remember exactly what he had intended to do last night when he ran away from Zoro's home, but he knew that he had already finished with his life and didn't really intend to return.
Despite the fact that his friends had tried to encourage him, he felt so empty. So alone. All his friends had their own lives, now that school life had long been over, nothing was the same. They met from time to time in the bar, but lately he had the feeling that they all slowly started to drift apart. Each of them had their own relationships or careers, like Luffy himself until recently. But now everything was lost along with his will to live. And not even his friends could get him out of the hole he fell into. There was simply nothing enough for it. Luffy loved each and every one of his friends, but he didn't want to be a burden to any of them with his problems, so they would probably be better off without him.
Luffy knew deep down that those thoughts were probably bullshit, however it didn't change the fact of what he honestly felt. And he felt broken. Empty as a shell. And most of all, alone. A condition he feared most and hated above all else. Ace his once beloved brother was his everything and the one who had raised him from a young age. Luffy never knew his parents and only had a useless grandfather, who only got drunk from morning to night and didn't give a damn about his grandchildren.
It was only Ace who raised him and nursed him back to health when he got sick, which he did quite often as a child. His big brother was always there for him, right by his side. A few tears now made their way down Luffy's cheeks at the thought of the difficult yet beautiful times in his past, which he quickly wiped away as sudden anger overcame him.
How could Ace do that to him? Deceive him like that, and on top of that, together with his beloved boyfriend? How could they do this to him? What had he done to deserve this? Was he such a bad little brother and partner?
Again the tears came to his eyes, which this time he let run freely, unable to stop them. Then Luffy caught sight of his little tattoo on his left wrist peeking out through his sleeve that had slipped down a bit, which only made him more upset.
It was a joint tattoo of him and Ace. Ace had his name tattooed and Luffy his. Single large teardrops dripped on it and disappeared under the sleeve of his hoody, as he looked at the curved black writing through tear-soaked eyes. But he could not bear the sight of his brother's name engraved on his skin any longer, as he completely lost his temper and reached for the scalpel he had left beside him. And in the next moment he cut with the sharp blade over and over again over the tattoo in his skin, until nothing more of it was to be seen.
Fresh tears mixed with the hot blood that now covered his entire wrist and flowed down his arm, sucked into the fabric of his sweater.
By the time Luffy came back to his senses from his mental breakdown and realized what he had actually done, it was already too late. Luffy didn't know how deep he had cut himself, but it was obviously deep enough, as he could see from his profusely bleeding wrist.
But as strange as it was, he felt nothing. No pain. No regret. Just nothing and he didn't care at all. And instead of doing something to stop the bleeding to some extent, he just watched the deep red liquid oozing out of the wounds as if in a trance. Luffy eventually leaned back against the wall and closed his eyes, the tears had long since stopped flowing and all that remained were the tear tracks that slowly dried on his cheeks.
So that was the way he would die. Bleeding and completely alone in an icy cold room of a man he didn't even know. A weak chuckle escaped his lips at the thought that in this way he had at least taken the preliminary work from the doctor.
Perhaps Luffy would now finally find the peace he so longed for.
Unfortunately, that's it again for this chapter. I hope you enjoyed it! Please let me know your opinion!
Until next time!
