Chapter 2:

Free Falling.

'Layered armour unlocked!

Current Layered Armour: Kuoh Academy Uniform.'

With a sigh, Alex equipped the layered armour, the dark armour that covered His/Matusda's body vanished, and a school uniform replaced it, as a test Alex grabbed a pair of scissors and tried to cut the uniform's cloth, as he exerted more and more strength the scissors began to creak until the snapped, shrapnel flung itself into the wall. A small smile crossed his face briefly, dragging himself out of his room, he calmly walked down the stairs as the body's former host memories were synchronised with his own, his Mother, Single had moved to Kuoh to escape his abusive father.

The abuse they both suffered shaped them differently, Matsuda had sheltered himself in his perverted delusions, shielding his mind and emotions from the harsh reality that threatened to end him at any point, his mother poured everything she had into her son, and he became her sole reason for existing, she worked three jobs just so he could attend Kuoh academy with what she considered his only friends.

The fear of her Husband still tears away at her mind, the belief that he can come strolling through the door at any time often keeps the poor woman awake at night, a small part of Matsuda was always aware of this however if he acknowledged it, he would have to face reality once more, something he was never willing to do.

"I will though, a final promise for taking your life, I will save her from him. You have my word."

Alex muttered to himself as he entered the living room,

'Side Quest Issued: Deal with your father.

Save your Mother from the clutches of the man she once loved.

Note: Your Father isn't purely Human. 3 days and five hours until your father arrives in Kouh.

'Kissing my mother on the cheek, I quickly move to the kitchen and grab a slice of toast off the side, running out of the home, in an attempt to make it to school on time. Until I know more about this world, I try and act like a model student, this whole pervert thing will get old fast, and I'm going to nip it in the bud straight away. If anyone asks, I have had a change of heart, the first thing I need to do is swap back to track and field, I need to keep this body physically fit, and hopefully, it will increase my stat scores if I do enough work. Strength is my lowest stat after all

Alex silently made his way to school, avoiding the busy streets as he focused on recalling all of the relevant memories regarding his school, his 'friends' were just as perverted as Matsuda, two people he would have to avoid from now on, each gets a favour then ties are cut.

'If they can't be redeemed then I can't bring myself down with them, I want to enjoy myself in school this time round, and a key factor in that will be ending 'my' old man, I'm slightly worried about what makes him not fully human but a bridge to cross at a later date.'

The memories showed many of the students Matsuda had paid attention to, mainly women, two, in particular, were deemed the Goddesses of Kouh, they were too beautiful in Alex's opinion, fakely so. Akeno Himejima and Rias Gremory, something was definitely 'up' within those two, straight onto the avoid at all costs list.

Keeping low and out of the spotlight, Alex entered his class like normal, moving to his normal seat, his two friends imdialty approached him, demanding their usual goods, 'High' level porn, Matsuda had previously supplied to the other two but from today onwards they would need to get their porn or use a computer like every other teenager.

The rest of Alex's time in class was spent ignoring his 'friends' antics, concentrating as much as he could on the class, when lunch rolled around, Alex abandoned the duo and made his way to the roof with his Mother's homemade Bento. Surprisingly the door to the roof was locked, using a small pin and his sleight of hand skill, he spent a few seconds fiddling with the lock until it clicked open.

To his surprise a small white cat was sleeping on the only bench on the roof, making sure not to wake the cat, he sat quietly, gently lifting the lid off of his bento. Instantly the cat awoke, the smell of his food forcing it awake, it cutely tilted its head to the side before pawing at the bento, with a small smile, Alex took out a small piece of shrimp and left it in front of the cat. The rest of his break was spent both eating and playing with the cat.

The rest of the day flew by with little of note happening to Alex, he did switch clubs to the track and field club and after extensive talks with the captain of the team, he managed to convince her that it wasn't a trick by the perverted trio. Although he had selected track and field, Alex was going to specialise in the field aspect more than the track, he wanted to learn Javelin throwing, shot put and the like.

One event that did shake him to the core was his former perverted comrade had managed to get a girlfriend, this in of itself wasn't that weird, shocking yes but weird no however the small amounts of killing intent the said girlfriend released every time they touched was. Deciding to use Issei's favour now, Alex tracked them during their date, most of it was the typical high school rom-com bull. A trip to the mall that included shopping, a dessert cafe and a movie. Everything was normal until the pair entered the park.

Pov change, first person, Alex

Once they entered the park a large flux of magical energy surrounded me, the pulse was not strong nor was it weak, the other park goers dissapered, maybe a separation barrier of some kind? Something useful to learn while I'm in this world, moving toward the pair, I see the girl change her outfit to some weird S&M suit, not proficient in protecting you from harm, but maybe she is an M?

I doubt it, 'Remove the layered armour, I don't want them to see my face

'Understood.'

In an instant my dark demonic armour covered me head to toe once more, I waited, drawing my bow, and I aimed it at what I assumed was a Fallen angel, black wings gave that one away. A giant spear made of light appeared in the girl's hand,

Wait,

Wait for it,

Now.

I released the arrow I had ready, using the explosion of the two magical constructs colliding to approach the woman, I'm glad agility was one of my higher stats, throwing myself by the downed Issei, I throw him to the side, out of the way as store my Bow in my inventory and pull out my daggers' throwing myself at the angel, forcing her further and further back.

As she approached the fountain, a large number of spears appeared above her head, flying at me with ridiculous speed, forcing me back, for a second we just stood there, a decent distance between us, shallow cuts on her arms, a small dent in my armour.

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, and closing the distance once more, I appeared before the angel, my right dagger catching her in the shoulder while the left deflected her light spear over my shoulder.

With a quick movement, I flipped the dagger in my left hand around and rammed it into the left-hand side of her waist, fuelled by her pain, a light spear came out of nowhere, lodging itself in my shoulder.

Creating distance between them once more, I removed the spear which hadn't exploded like the prior ones and stared at the woman, who was in a tirade about how a stupid inferior human had damaged her or something, her anger was useful. It covered the obvious pain of her flagging body, my next barrage should finish -

She is slowly flying away?

Did she forget?

I silently took out my bow once more, Noching an arrow, I take a single breath, steadying myself before letting go, the arrow misses.

I have one final attempt, I steady myself once more and miss her head, instead, I tear straight through her wing, her descent is anything but pretty, leaving a small crater where she impacts the floor.

Walking towards her, I kneel down and with a single swift movement slit her throat, I then store her body in my inventory and begin to leave the park, I walk past a dazed Issei, not my issue anymore. I also see Rias appear out of a magic circle, "I knew you were too perfect"

I mutter as brush past her, she tries to get my attention but I continue walking, as soon as I get out of the barrier I turn on my layered armour and return home, apologising to my mother about being late and with a sigh, I flopped into bed, the rest of the fallen angels will have to wait until I wake up.

As I close my eyes familiar text appears before my eyes

'Entering Dungeon Instance'

An Elven woman was pulled from the ruins of Grimewich, blood covering her naked body, the elves who pulled her out of the ruins immediately bowed to her and said"We are glad the shrine maiden has survived the catastrophe that has hit the village, we have brought a dress for you to wear."

The shrine maiden took the dress and put it on out of the sight of the elves, when she returned she looked at the group before her and asked "Is this all that survived the attacks here and in the forest?"

The Elves nodded their heads, one of the elders approached the shrine maiden and said" The Humans were extremely ruthless this time however there was an explosion that destroyed three-quarters of the village, it killed nearly all of the humans here. That was including the man in charge of the attack, the rest have fled to the nearby town. There were screams about a demon and a wingless griffon that were responsible for the damage."

The shrine maiden nodded her head and responded "They are the ones who saved me from being raped by a group of Humans, he declared himself as the darkness within all of the Elves. I will be adding him to our local Pantheon of heroes as the Elves' Wrath, I assume no one will move against me?"

The Elder responded with "We will gladly add the saviour of the shrine maiden to the hero's pantheon, may he act with our wrath moving forwards".

3rd person Pov

As Alex and Bucephalus were walking along the old dirt road, a notification rang out in Alex's mind

'The User's Odyssey tab has been opened, this tab keeps track of any Legends or rumours connected to the user and the effects they have. The Legend of the Elves' Wrath has been born, +1 to legend score, +40 relations with the Southern Elf tribe.'

Intrigued by this Alex decided to look closer at these stats in the Odyssey tab.

Saving the shrine maiden of the Southern Elf Tribe has seen the user added to their Heroes Pavilion as the hero of wrath. Each time an Elf prays to you, you will receive their prayer through a notification on this tab.

Answering these prayers may give the user access to a new class alongside their current one, User may also become a living Elven Deity if enough Elves believe in your legend, making your Elven believers 100% loyal to you and your kingdom.

Current rewards: +40 relations with the Southern Elf Tribe, -20 relations with the Auyukesta Kingdom and 1 Legend score.'

Unsure about what to do with this information he decided he would just put it in the back of his mind for now, he also noticed that he can use his legend score to buy packs similar to the one he bought will skill points when he 'created' a character.

Happy he had a way to get some more units that were loyal to him, Alex began to plan his next move. He needed to get involved in conflicts between countries so he had a good understanding of how conflict played out in this world before he set up his kingdom. The best way he could think about doing this would be to set up a mercenary group, understanding that it would be weird for him to be in a group on his own, Alex opened his inventory and used the item that let him summon the 5 Dark Elves to his side.

A bright white light shot out of the ground towards the sky and then it vanished, waiting for his eyes to adjust Alex looked at where the light was to see 5 Dark Elves with various armours and weapons kneeling before him. Alex began to examine the Elves in front of him, there was a female Elf with heavy-looking steel armour on, she had a two-handed war axe on her back. He walked towards her and offered her his hand while saying" Tell me your name and class."

She pulled herself off of the ground using the hand Alex offered before responding with" My name is Gwen and my class is Knight. I hope to serve our king well going forward." Alex nodded his head and then pointed at the male next to her and said "You next".

The group introduced themselves to Alex, there were two assassins, one knight, one Mage and one archer among them. The two assassins were twins called Phoebe and Ajax, the mage was named Marcus while the Archer was named Cara, they all made vows to serve Alex to the best of their abilities. Satisfied with their introductions Alex made them his guard going forwards, explaining that he wanted to experience warfare before starting his kingdom.

The five of them agreed with the principal but wondered how Alex planned to create a kingdom out of nothing, ignoring their confused expressions Alex moved on to his next tasks for them to complete. He turned to Ajax and Phoebe and told them "You will need to go on ahead of us for now, I need you to scout out the town that is further down this path. I need to know if they have anything resembling a mercenary guild there, I also want you to locate where the town keeps its supplies and weapons."

They both nodded their heads and said as "You command" before turning around and leaving towards the town. Alex then turned to Marcus and said "I believe by the staff you are carrying that you specialise in rune magic, will need you to prepare to make runes all over the town once the other two return with our information. Gwen you will need to be ready to protect Marcus when he makes the runes in the town, there will be a lot of people trying to stop you, prepare for a long fight."

They both nodded and went to make their preparations, he turned to Clara and Bucephalus and said"During our trip to the town I expect us to come under attack. especially when my plan comes towards the end, I want the two of you to wait on the roofs of the buildings and ambush my attackers when they show up. Until they get back with the information, the both of you should try to figure out a strategy, Clara, she can understand Human and our language so it will be easier than it sounds. I'm going to go hunt some animals for food, I will be back shortly."

Alex hadn't gone hunting animals, he had received his first prayer from the Elves. he planned to answer it in real-time and hold a conversation with the one praying. He moved to an isolated part of the road near a stream and began the process of answering the prayer.

Matsuda is being given a new back story, I couldn't find any information on him really, the main reason I went with him to start with. Thanks for the reviews and follows, hope you enjoy it, see you next time!
