I know it's been a long, long time! But a lot of stuff happened while I was working on this chapter.
I actually finished this chapter last year before Thanksgiving. I didn't post it because I lost motivation to continue the story when I received the news of my great-aunt and great-uncle passing away within a week apart from each other because of Covid-19. This was literally a few days before Thanksgiving and it hit our family pretty hard. We were so worried about my grandmother because they were her siblings and we feared she would get a heart attack again from it or something. Not only that, but my great-grandmother also passed away but it was not from the virus. ((Yes my great-grandmother was still alive for this long, I believe she was almost 100 years old.))
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and all the other holidays were different without them. During Christmas my grandmother caught the virus and we were scared that she might also pass away too but luckily she made it through. Most of my family did catch it but we pulled through.
I'm deeply sorry for not posting but I'm back! I have motivation to keep writing again, I'm currently working on the next chapter. Its half-way done I believe and I'm re-working on the previous chapters. I'm just fixing up the grammar that's all but I haven't posted them yet. The changes will appear soon, don't worry (b ᵔ▽ᵔ)b!
I also just noticed that a lot of you REALLY enjoy my story from seeing all the Kudos, Hits and Bookmarks! I appreciate all of you for your patience 3 Thank you guys so much! 。゚(。ノωヽ。)゚。 ! Honestly when I first started writing this I didn't expect so many people to be interested in it but you all proved me wrong! I started seeing more Fem!KakyoinXJotaro fanfics and I can't wait to see more in the future!
I do apologize again for making all of you wait so enjoy! ~('▽^人)
Wheel Of Fortune
It's a brand new day and the Crusaders are following a long-narrowed road that headed to the mountains. It's the northern part of India and the Crusaders knew they were close to reaching Pakistan.
"Soon we're going to reach the Indo-Pakistan border," Noriko stated as she looked at the map. "This means we'll be saying goodbye to India very soon…" She then placed the map above the dashboard.
She and Joseph had switched seats after Polnareff had complained of needing to use the restroom and even pulled over to piss behind a rock.
"To be honest, I wasn't so sure about this country." Joseph admitted. "But now I miss the hustle and bustle of Calcutta and the rushing waters of the Ganges."
"Hmph." Jotaro grunted under his breath.
"When all of this is over, I'll come back again to give Avdol a proper grave..." Polnareff told everyone.
Joseph, Jotaro and Noriko stayed silent as they looked out the window. Ignoring their gaze at one another as they thought about their good old friend Avdol.
"Mr. Avdol…" Noriko muttered, closing her eyes.
"Looks like the road is getting narrower." Polnareff pointed out, changing the subject.
Everyone turned their heads at the road ahead and saw a faded-red 1952 Hudson Hornet in front of them. The driver seemed to be taking his time and not caring who drove behind him since it drove very slow. The car created dust that went straight inside the jeep. Everyone began to cough and even covered their mouths.
"What the hell?! Stop driving so damn slow! You're in the goddamn way!" Polnareff yelled at the driver. "You know what?! I'll just pass them."
The Frenchman pressed on the pedal and sped up. He passed the car and was now in front of it but his dangerous maneuver caused a few rocks to hit the stranger's vehicle, scraping his car.
Noriko shot a glare at Polnareff, "Polnareff, what are you doing?! You're being reckless!" She scolded.
Polnareff chuckled, "Hehehe! This four-wheel drive is great!"
Noriko sighed with a nod of disappointment.
"Hey Polnareff, a couple of rocks flung to their car." Joseph stated as he glanced at the car behind them.
"Yeah, so?"
Joseph averted his eyes at Polnareff. "We don't need any trouble or accidents right now. I'm still wanted for what happened back in Varanasi, you know. I would like to get to the border safely."
They drove along the side of a mountain and made a turn. Polnareff immediately gasped and slammed hard on the brakes. The sudden halt jerked everyone forward.
"What the hell is wrong with you, Polnareff?!" Noriko yelled at the man beside her.
"I just told you we don't need any trouble nor accidents!" Joseph yelled at Polnareff as well.
"I know that! But look who's standing over there!" He pointed at a figure who stood next to a sign.
That someone had their arm out with a thumbs up, waiting for someone to pick them up. The person wore a similar blue-jean overall with a long-sleeve pink shirt. The group recognized the outfit and had no doubt knew who it was. The stranger removed their hat and grinned at the Crusaders.
It was Anne.
"Hey guys! It's about time we meet again!" Anne said cheerfully. "Care to give me a lift?"
"It's that stowaway girl we left behind in Singapore…" Noriko said.
Jotaro let out a tch under his breath with annoyance as he pulled the brim of his hat down. The rest of the group weren't so sure what to do but since they were taking so long to decide, Anne jumped inside the jeep from the windows being down from earlier.
As soon as Anne got in, Noriko turned to look at her.
"Anne, weren't you supposed to meet your father back in Singapore?" Noriko inquired.
Anne let out a nervous chuckle, "Well you see…umm...that was sort of a lie." She shrugged her shoulders. "I actually ran away from home." She confessed.
"I told you guys back in Singapore she's a runaway!" Polnareff blurted out.
"Why are you in India? How did you even get to this country?!" Joseph questioned.
"Look Jojo's grandpa, does any of that stuff matter now? I just want all of us to travel together!" Anne said. "Oh! And I also brought these too!" She looked into her bag and pulled out a bunch of photos.
"You guys want to see some porno photos? I stole them from India! You guys like this kind of stuff, dontcha'?"
Noriko widened her eyes in shock, "H-Hey! Kids are not allowed to have those!"
"Hey! You can't travel with us!" Polnareff told the girl. "It's too dangerous and you'll only slow us down! Jotaro! Throw her out!"
"W-What?!" Anne turned to Joseph and clasped her hands together. "Please , Jojo's grandpa! Let me come along, please?!" She pleaded.
"No!"
"Please?!"
"No!"
"Please?!"
"No!"
"Please?!"
"No!"
"Please?!"
"No!"
"Please?!"
"NO!"
"Pretty pleeaaaseee?!"
Jotaro gritted his teeth as he could no longer handle hearing his grandfather and the stowaway girl argue.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP! YOU TWO ARE DAMN ANNOYING!" He shouted, shooting a deadly glare at Joseph and Anne who immediately shut their mouths.
Everyone stayed quiet as they glanced at Jotaro.
Anne blushed from his outburst as she only gawked at him. "AHHH! He's so dreamy!" She squealed in her thoughts.
Noriko noticed it and sighed as she looked away. "Looks like Anne has fallen for him." She thought.
Polnareff quietly turned on the jeep and began driving again. The group remained silent for a good moment until Anne spoke up.
"Look, I'm sorry that I lied about meeting my dad in Singapore but let's just forget about it, okay?" Anne said. "Listen, there's a reason for what I'm doing. I'm a girl so soon I'll be wearing a bra and look good such as doing my nails, hair and makeup for the boys. I would look pathetic traveling around the world that age!" While she explained, the group ignored her nor seemed to care at this point, but that didn't stop her from talking.
At the same time, Polnareff glanced at the rear-view mirror and saw the same faded-red car again from earlier now behind them. He pressed on the gas to go a bit faster.
"That's why I'm taking the chance right now! To run away from home and see the world! Don't you think so?" Anne continued.
A honk came from the vehicle behind the Crusaders. Everyone except Polnareff turned their heads at the red car.
"It's the car we passed by earlier. Looks like they're in a hurry." Jotato said.
"It was slow before! Now it's tailgating? What the hell is up with this guy?!" Polnareff said.
"Polnareff." Noriko said in a firm tone.
"Just let them pass." Joseph ordered.
"Fine…" Polnareff lowered his window and put his arm out to signal the driver to go ahead.
As the driver is passing by, purple smoke emitted from the red-car. Jotaro tried to pay close attention to the driver but his car's windows were covered in so much dust that no one can't even see him. The red-car was now ahead of them but slowed down. Once again, the dust traveled back inside the jeep making everyone cough.
"Hey! What the hell is he up to?! I let you pass so hurry up and go!" Polnareff swerved left and right to pass by but it was no use. He was beginning to get annoyed and lose his patience by this driver.
"Maybe if you weren't driving so recklessly earlier they wouldn't be so mad." Noriko remarked.
"Did you see the driver's face?" Jotaro asked.
"No I wasn't able to since all his windows are dirty." Polnareff answered.
"So you couldn't either…" Jotaro then narrowed his eyes at the red car. "It couldn't be…" He muttered.
"Be careful, Polnareff." Joseph warned.
The faded Hudson Hornet rolled down its window and a muscular arm wordlessly signaled the Crusaders to go ahead.
Polnareff scoffed, "Now he's letting me pass? He probably realized how shitty his car is and can't drive that fast for too long. You should've stayed behind me in the first place, dumbass!"
"Polnareff!" Noriko yelled at the Frenchman. "It's your fault to begin with for taunting him!"
Polnareff pressed on the gas to speed up and pass by the car. As soon as they did, the road they took had an incoming truck.
"AGH! WHAT THE-?! A TRUCK?!" Polnareff shouted.
"WE'RE GONNA CRASH!" Noriko screamed as she put her arms up to brace herself and Joseph used his body to protect Anne.
Both the jeep and eighteen-wheeler collided. Jotaro had quickly summoned Star Platinum and hit the truck before there could be any fatal damage. The jeep flipped up in the air before roughly landing back on the ground. The truck was no longer moving and steamed emitted from the hood.
"Damn that was close!" Polnareff gasped in relief. "If it weren't for Star Platinum's power, we would've been crushed!"
"Where is he?! Where's that damn car?!" Joseph asked as he looked around.
Jotaro had a frown on his face, "He's gone…" He stated. "What do you all think? Do you think the driver is a Stand User coming after us or just a random asshole who's playing a bad joke on us?"
"Obviously it's someone who's after us! We were nearly killed!" Polnareff said.
"But we didn't see anything that resembled a Stand attack." Noriko said.
Polnareff started up the car. "The engine seems okay. What should we do now?"
"All we can do is be more careful on our way to the border." Joseph responded. "If that car ever shows up again, we'll find out if it's just a normal person or an enemy Stand User."
"Hey, before we go, what should we do about that truck?" Noriko pointed at the wrecked eighteen-wheeler. "Star Platinum seriously damaged it."
Jotaro lowered the brim of his hat, "Just pretend we never saw anything. We ignore it." He answered.
Noriko sighed, "You're such a delinquent." She remarked with a tease.
Anne only stared at Jotaro while fangirling about him in her thoughts. "He's so cool!"
After driving for a while on the long-narrowed road, Joseph spotted a roadside teahouse from a distance.
"Let's take a break over there." Joseph insisted. "If we take our time, we might be able to avoid running into that red car again."
The Crusaders headed inside and saw the place filled with a bunch of buffed men silently drinking their tea. None of them bothered to look at them either as they entered. Joseph approached the owner, who was crushing sugar canes with a roller.
"What is that?" Joseph queried.
"It's sugar-cane juice! Wanna try some?" The owner offered.
"Sure."
The owner handed Joseph the juice and squeezed a few drops of lemon into the drink. As soon as Joseph was about to taste the drink, he saw the reflection of the red car from earlier on the glass.
"What?!" Joseph turned his head at the car as well as his group.
The faded red Hudson Hornet was parked next to a tree.
"It's that car again!" Polnareff stated. "That bastard is here!"
Jotaro and Polnareff approached the car and found it empty inside. The windows were rolled down but the driver was nowhere to be seen. The two Crusaders averted their eyes at the group of men who were sitting together at a table.
"Hey! I need to ask everyone here a question! Who's the driver of that red Hudson Hornet parked over there?!" Joseph inquired.
"I-I'm not sure, sir…" The owner replied. "To be honest I didn't even know there was a parked car over there."
The Crusaders all huddled together to discuss what they should do.
"Mr. Joestar, I highly doubt the driver will just come out and admit it." Noriko said.
"Grr! That bastard is messing with us!" Polnareff growled.
"It can't be helped." Joseph said. "If we can't find the driver then there will be no way for us to get to the border safely. In this type of situation we're only left with one option, right Jotaro?"
"Yeah…" Jotaro agreed and glanced at the group of men at the table. "It'll involve these innocent bystanders but…"
The group of men lifted their heads up and looked over at the Crusaders.
"We'll just beat them all down!"
Before Noriko could protest, Jotaro roughly grabbed one of the men and began beating him.
"H-Hey! This is not a good idea! Stop it, Jojo!" Noriko yelled.
Jotaro ignored her then Joseph and Polnareff also joined in by beating up the innocent men.
"Mr. Joestar?! Polnareff?! Both of you as well?! This is going too far!" Noriko shouted.
Polnareff grabbed one of the men by their collar, "Your face looks suspicious so it must be you, huh?!" He had his fist pulled back, ready to punch him.
"What?! N-No sir! It wasn't me!" The man stammered with his hands up in defense.
They all heard a car door slam shut and an engine starting. Everyone turned their heads at the red car. The driver had gotten back in his car without them noticing then drove off. The Crusaders stood there in shock as they watched the driver leave.
"D-Did we just get tricked?!" Polnareff asked.
"Did anyone see his face?" Joseph questioned.
"No...all I saw was his arm." Noriko replied. "What do you think he wants? He's not ambushing us nor directly challenging us. He may look like a crazy driver but it seems he bears a particular animosity towards us."
Polnareff growled under his breath as he clenched his fists. "Damn it! Let's go find out! That piece of shit is already pissing me off! We still need to kick his ass for that truck incident!" He declared.
They all rushed into their jeep and started chasing after the driver.
Polnareff was driving fast and was not too far behind the Hudson Hornet. The group was surprised that an old car could go way faster than their jeep. The chase led further up into the mountains and the road was more narrow than before. They made a turn where a sign pointed their direction that led to Pakistan.
Noriko pulled up the map and furrowed her brows in confusion. "That's odd. According to the map, we should be running parallel with the train tracks here." She said.
"Who the hell cares? We're gonna catch that son of a bitch any second!" Polnareff narrowed his eyes as he gritted his teeth. "That bastard…I'm gonna nail him on that curve!"
The red-car disappeared on the curve and as soon as the group reached it, they found themselves on a cliff with a bridge beside them. Polnareff gasped and quickly slammed onto the breaks. The jeep skidded to a stop on the edge of the cliff.
"H-He's gone!" Joseph stated. "But where did he go?!" He looked around.
"He disappeared after the curve?" Polnareff wondered.
"But there's no way a car could cross that suspension bridge." Noriko said.
Out of nowhere, something powerful slammed the back of the jeep that caused everyone to jerk forward.
"WHAT?!" Everyone said in unison as they looked back.
It was the faded-red Hudson Hornet again. It was ramming itself against the jeep to push them off the cliff.
"I-It's him! He's hitting us from behind!" Joseph cried out.
"But how?! There's only one road!" Noriko said.
Polnareff quickly put the jeep in reverse and pressed the gas. He kept trying to push the car back but the red-car only kept pushing them forward.
Polnareff frowned, "Damn it!" He growled. "That bastard is pushing us with immense power! What the hell is this?! A tank?!"
"Jotaro! Use Star Platinum to smash that asshole's car into pieces!" Polnareff ordered.
"I can't." Jotaro simply answered. "There will be an opposing force if I hit it. Our jeep will bounce off the car and we'll end up like that truck from earlier."
"Shit! It's no use then! Everyone get the hell out of the car!" Polnareff took his hands away from the steering wheel and gas and began unbuckling his seatbelt.
Noriko glared at Polnareff for his stupidity. "Polnareff! What the hell are you thinking?!" She yelled at the Frenchman. "The driver can't leave first! Who's going to hold the gas pedal?!"
Polnareff stopped what he was doing and glanced at Noriko with a nervous grin. "S-S-Sorry!"
The jeep was completely pushed out of the cliff and fell. Polnareff screamed while everyone else prepared for the powerful impact. The driver of the Hudson Hornet chuckled as he watched the Crusaders fall to their death.
Noriko furrowed her brows and narrowed her eyes. "Hierophant Green!" She called out her Stand. Her Stand grabbed the jeep's winch and went up towards the red car.
"Noriko stop!" Joseph shouted. "Your Stand won't be able to support all this weight! It'll be torn apart!"
"I appreciate your concern, Mr. Joestar." Noriko said with a calm tone. "But I am well aware of what I'm doing. I'm no fool."
Hierophant Green reached the top of the cliff and attached the winch's hook onto the bumper of the Hudson Hornet. The jeep stopped falling and dangled side to side.
Jotaro smirked, impressed by the red-haired girl's quick thinking. "Hmph. Not bad, Noriko." He complimented. "By the way, are you familiar with sumo?" He summoned Star Platinum and the purple-warrior Stand grabbed the cable. "Specifically deadlocks at the edge of the ring…" Star Platinum pulled the driver's car hard, bringing the Hudson Hornet much closer to the cliff. The Stand tugged the cable hard to pull the jeep back up.
"It's exciting, isn't it?!"
Once they reached the top of the cliff, "ORA!" Star Platinum punched the Hudson Hornet. Both vehicles switched places and now the red-car was falling to its death.
The jeep landed hard on the ground on all wheels. The Crusaders groaned from the impact as they rubbed their heads.
Noriko then turned her head at Jotaro with a smile. "Actually, I do quite enjoy sumo. By the way, Jojo, it's against the rules to punch your opponent in sumo."
Jotaro only smirked from her response.
Everyone got out of the jeep and walked towards the edge of the cliff. They checked to see the wreckage below them.
"Since I didn't see anything resembling a Stand attack, I guess it really was just an angry driver…" Joseph said.
"Yeah," Polnareff agreed. "Either way, a fall from that height would have killed anyone. He got what he deserved."
"But I still find it strange. How did the driver get behind us?" Anne wondered. "He was in front of us and all of a sudden he was behind us on a one-way road. This is strange…"
"There is nothing strange about that little girl!" A static voice said from the jeep.
"What was that?!" Noriko asked as she and the group scanned the area.
"The radio!" Polnareff pointed his finger at the jeep. "It's coming from the car's radio!"
"This was all the work of a Stand, Mr. Joestar!"
Joseph shook his head, "What?!"
"If he knows my name, then that means he's one of the Stand users hunting us down!"
"But where is the radio signal coming from?! It can't be from the car that fell off the cliff!" Noriko said.
"Of course not! That car is totaled!" Polnareff shouted.
Jotaro had been quiet and thinking the entire time until he raised his head. "No, you're wrong." He told Polnareff and glanced at everyone else. "There's a possibility that the car itself is a Stand. Do you all remember Strength? The orangutan's Stand was the freighter. This one could be the same kind."
"My name is ZZ," The voice on the radio said. "The name of my Stand is Wheel of Fortune!"
Joseph gasped, "Wheel of Fortune?!"
The ground began to shake as if it were an earthquake.
"What's all this shaking?!" Noriko asked.
"This can't be good…" Polnareff muttered.
"Everyone! Get back on the jeep!" Joseph ordered.
"No! Stay away from the jeep!" Jotaro warned.
"It can't be…!"
"The ground…!"
In an instant, under the Jeep appeared the same wrecked red vehicle. The red Hudson Hornet launched itself up as it pushed the jeep away. As the vehicle landed back on all wheels, the Crusaders were tossed to the ground.
"No way! It burrowed itself from the ground?!" Polnareff shouted. "I think it's pretty obvious that the car is actually a Stand!"
"The Stand user is controlling it from inside!" Noriko stated.
Suddenly, right before their own eyes, the vehicle began to transform. Not only was the vehicle repairing itself, it had a brand new design with spikes aligned down the middle of the hood and a pointy and spiky front bumper. It looked intimidating with its new features.
"What the hell?!" Polnareff shouted as he took a step back.
"What is that thing?!" Noriko said.
"It's like a living creature!" Joseph said as the group put their guard up as the vehicle began to accelerate.
"I-It transformed! Be careful, it's going to charge right at us!" Polnareff warned.
Jotaro ignored the Frenchman's words as he stood there with his eyes shadowed by his hat. The delinquent smirked and raised his fist.
"Hmph." Jotaro scoffed. "Looks like it wants to know who's stronger."
"Don't, Jotaro!" Joseph shouted at his reckless grandson, knowing his intentions. "You can't fight it until we know what his Stand is capable of!"
In a blink of an eye, a flash came from the car and a couple of hole wounds appeared on Jotaro's shoulders. Jotaro coughed out a bit of blood as he was taken by surprise from the attack.
"JOTARO!" Polnareff, Joseph and Noriko shouted in unison.
"I-Impossible!...I didn't even see its attack!" Jotaro groaned as he placed his hand on one of his wounds. "What the hell did it shoot me with?!" He frowned.
ZZ let out a wicked laugh. "Bet you missed that, didn't you?!" The vehicle maneuvered left and right as it laughed once again. "You'll soon figure it out once I send you to the grave!" And with that the Hudson Hornet accelerated and charged at Jotaro.
"JoJo!"
"Jotaro!"
Noriko and Polnareff intervened to save their friend but another flash came from Wheel Of Fortune and attacked all three Crusaders at the same time. The same wounds Jotaro had received were now on Noriko and Polnareff.
"Jotaro! Polnareff! Noriko!" Joseph shouted their names as Anne screamed in horror. He kneeled down to cover the girl with his body to protect her from the enemy.
The red-haired girl was about to fall over only for Jotaro to quickly catch her in his arms. He grimaced at her wounds and shot a glare at the enemy.
"GYAH! What the hell is this?!" Polnareff groaned as he examined the wounds on his arm. "They're not that bad but they dug deep into my skin!"
"I couldn't see anything!" Noriko said as she winced from the pain. "It appeared as if the Stand was shooting something at us but there's nothing sticking out of the wounds!" She stood back on her feet as Jotaro gently let her go but pulled her behind him for protection.
"Are you all right, Jotaro?!" Joseph worriedly asked his grandson.
"Don't worry about me..." Jotaro told Joseph. "More importantly…"
The wheels were burning on the ground as it prepared to accelerate and attack.
Jotaro narrowed his eyes, "I can't tell what type of attack it is using but it's got good accuracy…"
"First I'll break your legs so you won't be able to run anymore, then trample ya to death!" ZZ declared as he charged at the Crusaders.
"Quickly! Run between the boulders!" Joseph indicated as he grabbed Anne's hand and ran while the others followed.
Noriko gasped as she felt a large calloused hand grab hers and was pulled along with Jotaro.
As soon as they made it between the boulders, Wheel Of Fortune slammed into the rocks but that didn't stop the vehicle.
"Ya can't escape from me!" ZZ said as the vehicle was transforming again.
"What?!" Noriko shouted as she was more frightened seeing the vehicle dig its way in.
"Are you guys pretending to be cockroaches?!"
"Oh no! It's forcing its way in!" Joseph pointed out.
Noriko subconsciously squeezed Jotaro's hand, "We don't stand a chance against him…" She muttered.
"It's acting like an angry, stupid idiot who can't solve a puzzle ring and is lashing out its anger on us!" Polnareff remarked as they watched the enemy get closer.
"Head further back!" Jotaro ordered and pulled Noriko by the hand as they all ran again.
Anne tried to follow the Crusaders but tripped and fell on the ground. She looked up to see if anyone gave her a hand only to see nobody around anymore as the rest seemed to already have escaped.
The little girl widened her eyes in horror as she lifted her hand, "Will someone save me?!" She cried out. Tears ran down her cheeks as she cried and began hitting the ground with her small fist. "Yes, it's true that I ran away from home! I'm a good-for-nothing and I'm all alone! Nobody loves me! I'm gonna die!"
Her tears and tantrum continued until Anne felt a large hand grab her by the overalls and lifted her up from the ground. She met a pair of aquamarine eyes from a certain delinquent.
"Gimme a break…" Jotaro sighed in annoyance. "Instead of rambling your stupid speech, you could've used that time to escape, you little brat."
Anne giggled as she squealed and blushed with joy, "You're the best, Jotaro! I love you!" She said with a cheerful smile.
Jotaro sighed as he resumed climbing to the top of the boulder with everyone else already waiting for him.
Jotaro was the last person to reach the top as Anne and Joseph helped him climb over. The group looked down at Wheel Of Fortune as they heard the enemy let out a maniac laugh.
"Climb all ya fucking want! There's no roads left for you bastards to go now!" Wheel Of Fortune drifted to a stop in front of the boulder. "You can't escape! You won't survive! You won't make it to Egypt! You won't even have a road for your future either! And that's because…" Large spikes appeared on the wheels of Wheel Of Fortune.
"...My Wheel Of Fortune will grand ya shitheads into mincemeat and splatter what's left over the rocks!" Wheel Of Fortune began climbing over the wall the Crusaders had used, ready to kill them all.
"Oh No!" Joseph cried out as he had his hands placed on his cheeks.
"I-It's climbing up…" Noriko muttered, she couldn't believe what she was seeing before her eyes. She took a step back as she was beginning to sweat nervously.
"Is there anything this car can't do?!" Polnareff cried out.
With everyone now panicking, Jotaro had remained calm and sighed, "Good grief…" He said as he stretched out his arm. "Looks like we have no choice but to face it." He looked over at everyone. "All of you stay back. When it reaches the top, we'll be able to see the car's underside. That's when we'll find out who's stronger…"
"I see…" Noriko realized what Jotaro said. "Once the car's underside in view, we'll be able to strike."
As the sounds of the wheels grinding against rocks grew louder, Jotaro prepared himself in a battle stance. Wheel Of Fortune shot up right in the air in front of the Crusaders, giving them a perfect view of the car's underside. Jotaro took the opportunity and summoned Star Platinum to attack. However, this still didn't worry nor stopped the enemy as he let out another laugh.
"You're quite energetic, Jotaro! But not smart at all! You guys haven't even noticed the strange smell coming from your bodies!" ZZ warned as he had his muscular arm sticking out of Wheel Of Fortune's window.
Jotaro immediately recalled his Stand while Polnareff and Noriko quickly sniffed on their clothes.
"He's right…" Noriko gasped. "And it smells like gasoline!"
"The gasoline is coming from our bodies!" Polnareff confirmed.
At that moment, a flash of light shot out from Wheel Of Fortune's bumper and this time Noriko was able to notice tiny drops of liquid.
"It was shooting gasoline at us!" Noriko concluded. "It was shooting small amounts of gasoline at high speed, like bullets!"
"But that's impossible!" Polnareff retorted. "He wasn't intending on wounding us but to soak us with gasoline?!"
The gasoline bullets hit Jotaro as holes appeared in his arms and back. The dark-haired teen groaned in pain as he stumbled and fell to his knee.
"Looks like you idiots finally caught on! But it's way too late now!" ZZ told the group. "Now it's time for a spark!"
The Stand User pulled out an electrical wire and connected it to another one. Sending the spark directly to Jotaro, the delinquent was instantly caught on fire from all the gasoline in his body. It was so fast that Jotaro couldn't even react on time.
"What?!" Jotaro managed to grunt out as the flames engulfed him.
"JOTARO!" Anne cried out as she wanted to reach out at help.
The Crusaders watched in horror seeing Jotaro scream and wail in pain from the burning flames. They saw him fall back onto his knees while Polnareff and Noriko held Joseph from intervening.
"Jotaro!" Joseph cried out while desperately trying to get away from Noriko and Polnareff's hold to save his grandson.
"You can't get close to him, Mr. Joestar!" Noriko warned as her heart ached and held back her tears. As much as she also wanted to save Jotaro, she couldn't risk Joseph also getting hurt since she and Polnareff were also covered in gasoline. "Remember, Jotaro isn't the only one covered in gasoline!"
The group could hear ZZ maniacally laughing, he slapped the door of his Wheel Of Fortune while Jotaro collapsed on the ground, dead.
"JOTARO!" Joseph screamed on the top of his lungs as he was trying to fight back the tears. He wasn't the only one as Anne and Noriko were also holding it in.
ZZ lifted up his arm and pointed up at the sky. "I win! Part Three is now over!" Feeling victorious, he laughed again at the faces of the Crusaders.
They all stood there in shock and hurt. Joseph placed a hand on his chest as it ached from the loss of his grandson. Noriko and Polnareff had already let the Old Man go as they were also in pain from the loss of their dear friend.
As they were losing any hope of reaching Egypt to defeat Dio, a familiar voice interrupted their grieving moment.
"Oh? And who's going to replace me?" The voice asked ZZ.
The group quickly turned their heads at the direction of the voice. A fist came out of the ground revealing it was Jotaro, who was crawling out without his jacket. The Crusaders were relieved and in shock while the enemy had stopped laughing like a maniac.
"You didn't think it'll be you, right?" Jotaro said with a smirk.
"Y-You used yer Star Platinum to burrow into the ground! So the only thing that got burned was yer jacket!" ZZ cried out in realization.
"By the way, weren't you saying something about roads earlier?" He asked as he stood tall from the hole. "You're wrong." Jotaro narrowed his eyes. "A road is a path you make yourself, and I, Kujo, Jotaro, will show you how it's done…"
ZZ gasped in fear as he held onto his Stand.
"I'll show exactly how roads are built!"
"ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA!" Star Platinum yelled as it pulverized Wheel Of Fortune, crushing the User inside.
"I-I'm being crushed!" ZZ managed to choke out.
"Jotaro!" Anne squealed with joy as she was relieved seeing him alive and well.
Star Platinum continued to pulverize the enemy until he let out one last ORA and the User flew out from the other side of the car. ZZ had created a trail from his body when he was thrown.
"And that's how it's done." Jotaro said with a smirk. "Actually, where you had gone flying, a road has been made." He added as he stood in front of ZZ. "Very good…"
ZZ sat up with a screech, he raised his hand for defense as the Crusaders were walking over to him.
"What an odd one." Noriko commented with Anne walking next to her. Both girls stopped a few steps in front of the enemy as Noriko placed her hands on her hips and Anne crossed her arms across her chest.
"His arms are quite enormous but yet the rest of his body is small." Noriko added as she observed the man. "What a facade…"
ZZ tried to escape by crawling away only to be stopped by Polnareff.
"Where the hell do you think you're going?! Don't try to run now!" Polnareff pressed his foot against ZZ's back.
"P-Please don't kill me! I only did it for the money!" ZZ pleaded.
The group laughed except for Jotaro, who was smiling as his companions were laughing at the man. Their moment quickly ended when the sound of the beaten automobile began to shrink into a smaller broken down vehicle.
"Oh God!" Joseph commented as he placed his gloved finger against his chin. "To think that the Stand was disguised as such a small car, too. It looks like a sheep that's just been shorn. How pathetic!" He said with a big grin on his face.
Joseph's joke made the rest of the group, besides Jotaro, bust out laughing again. They were all nearly in tears while Jotaro only smiled as he stood next to Noriko, secretly enjoying the sound of her beautiful laugh.
The Crusaders tied up ZZ on a giant boulder nearby with chains. They even decided to leave a message behind to make sure he'll never come after them ever again. The message on the sign said,
I am a priest in training,
Please do not disturb my meditation by undoing my restraints
Once they all calmed down, they gathered around next to the small car.
Joseph cleared throat, "Now then, for now we'll take this car across the border since ours was badly wrecked."
"Um, Mr. Joestar, I'm not sure it'll even make it. It's already in a bad shape from Star Platinum's punches." Noriko said as she was feeling a bit uneasy and worried while getting in the car.
"Don't worry Noriko! I'm sure this car can keep running for a while before it breaks down." Polnareff assured her as he got on the driver's seat.
"HELP! HELP!" ZZ shouted as the Crusaders hopped onto his vehicle and drove off to continue their journey.
"By the way," Jotaro looked over at Anne, who sat between him and Noriko in the back seat. "You're gonna go back to Hong Kong by plane." He informed her.
"What?! Why?!" Anne cried out, clearly not happy with the idea.
"Shut up! Don't you realize that you're just getting in the way?!" Polnareff snapped at the girl.
As soon as he said that, the sound of the car's engine giving up worried them.
"I think we might not make it very far…" Joseph muttered.
Egypt
Somewhere in Dio's mansion, the sobbing of an old woman could be heard in the empty hallways. Nobody had dared nor bothered to approach her as she was still grieving from the loss of her son and the enemies she had sent out to kill the Crusaders already failed her.
Enyaba was on the ground crying in sorrow and anger. "All seven Stand users I sent forth have already been defeated! Those idiots tarnished my spotless reputation! I cannot bear to face Lord Dio from this!" She then let out a loud scream and began smacking her head on the ground.
"Curse that despicable Polnareff, Noriko, Jotaro and that old bastard Joseph!" She let out a screech before finally standing back up on her feet and started sprinting.
The old woman now had a determinate look on her wrinkling face as she grinned deviously. "I, Enyaba, will now face you cretins personally! With my own Stand, Justice!"
