Seventh year is what one expects. Stressful. It's the last year before heading to the "real life" and starting one's career. N.E.W.T.S are towards the end of the year and the Ministry is adding the apparition testing in the mix. Now Amelia doesn't think that would be too hard. Think of your destination and disappear. Grandda makes it look easy whenever him and Amelia go traveling for the creatures. He had started teaching her during the summer to ensure her safety but whenever a time becomes dangerous, like for instance she messed up in any part of the apparition, he would immediately stop her and he take over. Luckily, under supervision, the Hogwarts staff decided to allow 7th years who want to practice to practice.

This isn't what Amelia is working on right now. Herself and Matilda are in the courtyard pushed in a corner away from the carefree of other years. It was in a way refreshing but in the bottom of Amelia's heart she knew it was only a limited time before he comes around and run amok. Granted, Amelia knew whatever he plans it would be worse than 'amok'.

Matilda leaned back letting out a groan. Her hands rubbed her eyes, "This is torture."

Amelia's lips quirked upward, "I can see why the professors look so joyful whenever 7th years leave their classrooms."

Tilly shook her head. Her hand slapped her Potions book after they left her eyes. Matilda slammed her book shut, "I think I'm done studying for now."

Amelia looked down at her Herbology and Potions books. She had her Herbology book opened to a particular plant whereas her Potions book is opened to a potion needing that particular plant. Matilda scrunched up her nose, "What do you lot want?"

A voice scoffed, "Don't want you getting your knickers in a twist, Griffiths. Plus I'm here for one and only Salamander."

The Hufflepuff scrunched up her nose. James Potter. Wasn't he always fawning over a certain red head which was why Amelia haven't seen him in ages. Apparently he asked for her help in his studies even though he is one of the top in their year. She fallen for his trap to help him. Amelia had no idea why when they're both head boy and girl. Unfortunately, with her name she reckons, she made head girl for Hufflepuff. She didn't need this added on responsibility. Amelia didn't bother looking up to look at Potter, "What is it?"

James clicked his tongue, "Did you forget? We have a lovely Head boy and girl meeting with the headmaster. I figured to come and fetch you while I'm on my way to the office."

Amelia scoffed, "I did not want to be Head Girl. I did not ask to be one. I was simply 'gifted' it."

James came around the table and hooked his arm around her shoulders. Matilda scrunched up her nose. Amelia rolled her shoulders to try to shove him off, "Plus I haven't heard of a meetin' for today. You must of gotten yer days mixed up."

The Griffindor tsked while waving a lone finger in the air, "Nu uh uh! Professor Dumbledore specifically came to me to come fetch you to ensure of your attendance. It's apparently a very important meeting, whatever that may mean."

Amelia's eyes narrowed. To Matilda it looked like she was focusing on the plant pictured in her Herbology book but it was Amelia raking her mind on why James Potter was insisting on this make believe meeting. Amelia then widened her eyes. This isn't an ordinary meeting, at least not among Head Boys and Girls. This is one of the meetings. Amelia sighed, "You're not goin' to leave me alone till I come to this meetin'?"

James popped the 'p' in yep. Amelia looked over at Matilda, "I'm sorry Tilly. We are goin' to have to postpone our study sessions."

Matilda waved a hand with a small smile on her face. She knew Amelia didn't want the position and it makes her drag her feet. Matilda felt it was good for Amelia to be outside of dealing with magical creatures and plants. Matilda winked, "Oh no, what shall I ever do?"

Amelia closed her books standing up. She jabbed her finger onto Matilda's closed potions book, "How 'bout studyin'? You want to become an auror so you must get good N.E.W.T.S."

Matilda groaned, "Fine. Thank you mother."

Amelia rolled her eyes before she scooped up her books. James held out a hand as to guide the Hufflepuff forward.

Amelia was correct. It was the meeting among the selected few. Outside the headmaster's office once you get past the staircase was Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, surprisingly Lily Evans, and a few handful of others who were mentioned at Amelia's grandfathers' grounds and others who were added. Dumbledore saw the last two arrive, "Ah yes. Amelia and James. Thank you for joining us. Let's head inside."

Amelia scanned through the students before her sight landed on the only Black among them. He seemed to be in the process of looking her up and down. His eyes finally met hers. She was the first to tear away. Amelia didn't know what that was about nor would she was wanting to ask. The selected students have piled in.

Once the door closed, Amelia piped up, "Professor, if I may?"

Everyone brought their attention to the Hufflepuff. Amelia swallowed hard once Dumbledore gave his permission for her to speak. Amelia took in a deep breath then let it out, "If I can make a suggestion on who would help with this cause, I'd like to suggest Matilda Gri-."

A Griffindor sneered, "Why would a Slytherin from a Pure blood family want to help with defeating him?"

Amelia's fingers tightened around her books. Her knuckles were turning white. She gritted her teeth, "Not all Slytherins are bad, Jameson."

The said Griffindor, Jameson, shook his head crossing his arms, "Sure. She been seen around Mulciber and Avery. We all know those two are in leagues with him. She might be as well."

In an instant, Amelia pulled her wand from her twisted hair and pointed it at Jameson, "I can assure you she is not. You get her name out of your mouth, you foul creature."

Some of the students never seen the Hufflepuff in all the years they've attended school together get so angry. Remus looked over at the Griffindor's head boy and girl as if to tell them 'hey do something'. Dumbledore crossed his arms and looked with his lips in a firm line, "Enough you two. Now Amelia Scamander, I will think on this carefully."

Amelia lowered her wand but would not tear her glare away from the Griffindor. Remus nudged a smiling James. James looked over at Remus mouthing a 'what'. Remus gestured to Jameson. James sighed, "Alright Jamie, that's enough out of you."

He grabbed hold of Jameson's bicep and dragged him far away from Amelia as possible. Sirius was hidden behind Remus and Lily. An impressed smirk graced his lips. Amelia finally broke her glare once Jameson was out of her sight. She then realized everyone was still staring at her with mixed emotions. Surprised. Sneers. Impressed.

Dumbledore started, "Alright I brought you here today..."

Amelia couldn't hear anything the old headmaster was saying. She was angry. She was wanting to get out of there so she could blow some steam.

Dumbledore wrapped up the meeting. As Amelia was collecting her books, a call of her name stopped her, "Amelia one minute, please."

Amelia stopped and watched every single one of the students leave her behind. The Marauders gave her a once over before leaving. Dumbledore clasped his hands together, "Despite the display you have done and this doesn't excuse what Jameson have said, no magic has come out of your wand so I will not give you a detention or take away house points. You were simply defending a dear friend of yours. Which brings me a question, why did you bring up Matilda Griffiths to join the order?"

Playing with the spine of her Herbology book, she gave her answer, "Matilda wants to become an auror. She is a hardworking witch that I've ever known. She will defend those in need."

Dumbledore spoke in truth, "Like she has done for you."

The seventh year wouldn't dare ask how he knew but gave a nod as if to confirm what he said. Dumbledore moved away from his desk, "Alright. You may bring her tomorrow during study session and we shall speak. All three of us."

Amelia's lips slowly grew into a smile. She gave a nod in thanks, "Thank you, Professor."

Dumbledore waved his hand to his door, "Now go. I'm sure your friend is waiting for you."

Amelia's brows furrowed. Matilda wouldn't have come and meet her then again she would to get out of studying. The girl headed down the staircase and was actually surprised on who waited for her.

"What are you doin' here? I think I had enough with yer bunch, " Amelia huffed out.

"I just wanted to say I'm impressed, Scamander. Didn't know you had it in you."

Amelia rolled her eyes, "I prefer not people to get on my bad side, Black. Anyways I best be goin'."

Sirius pushed himself off the wall taking his hands out of his pockets, "Woah there Scamander, not trying to be hostile. Jameson has what's coming to him."

Amelia paused in her walking to turn to Sirius, "What do you mean?"

Sirius jabbed his finger behind him, "Oh James and Lily have him cleaning out the Griffindor Quidditch lockers. Every speck of that place. Heard some of the lockers reek."

Making a mental note to thank the Griffindor Head boy and girl later, she started walking away once more. Sirius half-jogged to catch up with her. Sirius gave a light snort, "I would've jinxed Jameson to the next year."

Amelia looked to her side, "Why are you still next to me? Thank you for telling me about what Potter and Evans did in my honor if that may be it but I don't see what you must need from me."

Sirius shrugged, "I am not giving a handout but I felt you may want to blow off some steam."

Amelia raised her brow, "I get to throw a punch at Jameson?"

Sirius snorted, "No. I don't think that'd fare well being a head girl and all."

She rolled her eyes, "Like you'd give a rat's ass 'bout rules."

The taller one of the two shrugged, "Mmm perhaps. No I was thinking of something else."

Amelia shook her head feeling slight warmth up her neck and ears, "That is something I am not going to do with you."

Sirius moved his hands out of his pockets to back of his head, "Like I would even think of that with you. No I was thinking of something in the woods."

Amelia felt her insides drop. She didn't know why. Amelia had to back track on what he said, "The woods? What 'bout the woods? Those are the forbidden woods, did you forget?"

The unregistered animagus rolled his eyes, "Yes those woods. I know your little secret. You think I wouldn't figure it out on who was slipping Remus the lovely moon juice?"

Amelia stayed silent. Sirius nudged her shoulder, "If you keep Remus' secret I'll keep yours."

With a dragged out sigh, she grabbed Sirius' hand dragging him.
