D'Arby The Gambler, Part 2
Noriko and Avdol placed the lifeless body of the elder Joestar on a chair that's behind Polnareff while Jotaro sat down across from D'Arby.
"Before we get started, there's something I'd like to try." Jotaro informed. "Shuffle those cards." He pointed at the playing cards on the table.
D'Arby shuffled the cards while Jotaro never took his eyes off of them.
"They're shuffled." D'Arby stated. "What now?"
Both Noriko and Avdol stood behind Jotaro, they were confused on what Jotaro was planning.
"It doesn't matter which one, but pick a card from anywhere near the deck's top and memorize it. Don't show it to me." Jotaro said.
"Hmph." D'Arby picked a card and glanced at it for a brief moment. "Okay, I've looked."
"I'll tell you what card it is: six of hearts." Jotaro said. "Now I'll tell you every card in order from the top. Five of Spades, Queen of Diamonds, Jack of Spades, Ace of Hearts, Seven of Diamonds, Six of Clubs, King of Clubs, Two of Diamonds."
D'Arby gasped under his breath and spread the cards on the table. Jotaro was correct and they were all in order.
"Wh-?! He knew them all! But D'Arby was the one who shuffled the cards! How did you know?" Avdol asked the delinquent.
"I can name all of the cards in order, from top to bottom." Jotaro said, his Stand manifesting behind him. "My Star Platinum was able to see the order of the cards as they were being shuffled."
"That's very interesting." D'Arby remarked. "But that just means I have to make sure you don't see me shuffling the cards."
"Don't you get it? This means you won't be able to cheat and need to be smarter about it. Consider this your only warning." Jotaro warned.
D'Arby narrowed his eyes, "Good."
As much as Noriko would like to assist her boyfriend during this game, she isn't too familiar with poker at all. She can't even help him cheat if she wanted to.
D'Arby pulled out a new deck onto the table with the security seal still on it, proving that it hasn't been tampered with. While Jotaro was inspecting the cards, D'Arby reached over to a book that was next to him on a small table and flipped through the pages as he watched the delinquent lay out the cards on the table.
"There's one Joker. I don't see anything unusual. They're ordinary playing cards." Jotaro confirmed.
"I'm at 538…" D'Arby spoke to himself. "540… No, page 556…" His eyes glanced at the book and chuckled, he was correct. "I'm at my best again today. I can figure out which page I'm on just by the feel. Jotaro's Star Platinum may indeed have impressive eyes, but I, D'Arby, can memorize by touch."
Jotaro moved the cards together and began to shuffle them.
D'Arby silently watched. "Even when I shuffle the cards, I know exactly where each is going…"
Jotaro finished shuffling the cards and placed the deck in the center of the table.
"Okay! Open the game!" D'Arby announced.
D'Arby grabbed the top pile of the deck and revealed his card, "Ten of Hearts."
Jotaro also grabbed a pile and showed his card, "Seven of Clubs."
"Looks like I'm the dealer." D'Arby chuckled. He reached over to grab the deck and began shuffling them at an angle so Star Platinum wouldn't see the cards.
He placed the deck back on the table, "Go ahead and cut."
Jotaro does as he's told.
D'Arby then grabs the deck again, "Time to deal."
"One for Jotaro, and to me, to Jotaro, to me…" Before D'Arby could deal the next card, Jotaro noticed something off. In a flash, Star Platinum was summoned and broke D'Arby's finger.
"GYAAAAHHH!" D'Arby screamed from the immense pain while Noriko and Avdol gasped.
"J-JoJo?! What happened?" Noriko turned to her boyfriend. "You broke D'Arby's finger!" She was confused as to why he would do that all of a sudden when everything was going normal.
"Why would you do that, Jotaro?!" Avdol asked.
"Like I said, he has to be smarter if he wants to cheat against me." Jotaro stated.
"Cheat?" Noriko raised a brow and glanced at D'Arby.
"What?! When? He was just dealing the cards!" Avdol protested.
"I didn't see him make any suspicious moves at all, what are you talking about, JoJo?" Noriko queried.
"Wrong," Jotaro told the red-haired teen. "Take a good look at the cards on his left hand." He pointed.
They looked at the cards and spotted a second card sticking out from the deck instead of the top.
"The second card is sticking out!" Avdol pointed out.
"And he was just about to deal me that card. He made it look like he was dealing it in order from the top." Summoning Star Platinum, the purple warrior-like Stand grabbed the card at the top while Jotaro flipped D'Arby's cards face up.
"That means the top of the card would have gone to him." He put the top card next to D'Arby's cards. "He would've had three tens with that top card."
"So he was cheating by giving you the second card? Sorry, but I'm not familiar with any of this poker stuff." Noriko admitted.
"The technique he pulled is called second dealing," Jotaro explained to her. "It takes advantage of the assumption that the cards are dealt from the top. Instead, this advanced technique allows the dealer to deal the second card from the top. When it's pulled off by the nimble fingers of a professional, it is almost impossible for the human eye to notice."
"Y-You violent brute! My finger…" D'Arby groaned, giving Jotaro a deadly glare while cradling his broken fingers.
Jotaro tossed the card back on the table. "No, I'm being forgiving. You're lucky I didn't tear it off."
D'Arby growled under his breath.
"Good grief…" Jotaro muttered. "I can't even trust you shuffling the cards."
"How about Mr. Avdol or I shuffle the cards instead?" Noriko suggested.
"You or him shuffle the cards?! HA! Like I would trust any of you!" D'Arby protested. "This game is between Jotaro and I! How would I know if what you said earlier was a lie to make me think you don't know anything about poker? What if you're going to help him cheat or not?"
"Says the one who got caught cheating just now!" Noriko retorted. "Like I said, I don't know anything about this game but it's whatever, have someone else deal the cards then." She frowned as she crossed her arms.
Jotaro glanced outside and saw a little boy playing with a ball on a hill. "How about that kid on the hill?"
"That'll do…" D'Arby said, though he didn't sound too happy about it.
"Avdol, can you go get him?" Jotaro asked.
"Certainly." Avdol replied as he was about to walk out the building but he stopped when D'Arby spoke.
"I'm impressed." D'Arby began as he took out a piece of cloth from his pocket. "To cheat, one must take advantage of psychological blind spots." He wrapped his broken fingers with the cloth. "You need more than just sharp eyes to see through cheating. I underestimated your ability to see through my second dealing. I shall accept what happened to my finger as punishment for that. And now, I will do everything in my power to defeat you at this game, Jotaro. This happens to be my biggest game since May 17th, 1986." He picked the poker chips that had Polnareff and Joseph's souls.
"On that day," He continued, "I won eight properties from a Japanese man named Mayame, Sozo, along with his pitiful soul. He was a rich man, and a skilled gambler." He tossed the poker chips in the air and summoned Osiris behind him.
"You see, I'm not competing against you for Lord Dio's sake! I'm competing against you because I'm a born gambler!"
"H-Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" Noriko queried.
"W-What are you planning to do with Mr. Joestar's and Polnareff's souls?!" Avdol demanded.
In an instant, Osiris cut Polnareff's chip into a piece and then did the same to Joseph's. The Crusaders widened their eyes in shock as they watched the Stand repeatedly cut the poker chips into more chips and stacked on top of each other in a neat stack.
"I've divided their souls into six chips each." D'Arby explained. "In poker, if you believe your cards are no match for your opponent's, you're allowed to fold. But you must be able to ante up some chips to participate in each hand, so two will not be enough. Once you have collected all identical six chips, you'll have acquired one complete soul. Understood?"
Jotaro simply nodded.
"With that being said, Jotaro, I would like to give you some chips to bet as well, but I must hear you utter a certain line."
"Fine." Jotaro raised a hand to his chest. "I'll bet my soul."
"Good!"
D'Arby placed a set of chips on the table but they were blank. "These chips that are as white as snow represent your soul. Once I have taken all those six chips from you, your soul is mine."
After Avdol went outside to bring the boy to deal the cards, they were ready to begin the game. The little boy silently dealt the cards.
"My opening ante will be a single chip of Polnareff's soul." D'Arby declared with a chuckle, tossing a chip of Polnareff's soul in the center of the table.
Jotaro also throws his chip in the center as well.
D'Arby picked up his five cards, "Let's begin!"
Avdol stepped closer to Noriko, "In poker, each player is dealt five cards. The players may discard cards for new ones in hopes of strengthening their hand." He explained to her in a low tone.
"I see…" Noriko nodded, "So whoever has a strong hand wins then, sounds simple." She said, not taking her eyes off the game.
"Simple yes, but poker can become a complex physiological battle when the stakes are high." Avdol added.
"I'll be discarding two cards." D'Arby said and tossed another chip in the center. He also placed the two cards he was discarding, face down.
"Jotaro, your soul is represented by a mere six chips. Make sure to consider your next moves carefully." D'Arby advised.
The little boy dealing the cards seemed confused but also nervous.
Noriko walked over to him and placed her delicate hand on his shoulder to comfort him. She bent down to his height, "Hey little one, don't worry if you're unable to understand what's going on. Everything is fine, just shuffle and deal the cards normally." She assured him with a genuine smile.
The boy instantly blushed from how close Noriko is and how beautiful she looked. He nodded, "O-Okay." He stammered and tried to look elsewhere.
"I'll take three cards." Jotaro told the boy, grabbing his attention.
"Y-Yes!" He gives Jotaro three new cards.
Jotaro picked up the new three cards and looked back at D'Arby.
"My, my, that's quite a frightening expression you got there!" D'Arby teased. "You must have gotten a good hand. Perhaps I should play it safe and bet on one Polnareff chip." He tossed the chip.
"Call." Jotaro simply said, throwing in another chip.
Sweat dripped on the side of Avdol's face as he observed the game, which Noriko noticed.
"Are you alright, Mr. Avdol?" She whispered.
"If neither of them folds, they will need at least three chips per hand." Avdol replied.
Noriko then averted her eyes back at the game with worry.
"All right! Show your hand, Jotaro!"
Jotaro laid down his cards on the table, showing his cards. "Two pair, nines over eights."
"Hmph. How unfortunate…" D'Arby said and revealed his hand. "Two pair, queens over jacks."
Avdol gasped while Noriko seemed a bit lost, but from seeing the Fortune-Teller's reaction, it must've meant that D'Arby has a better hand than Jotaro's.
"What a close call! I nearly lost that one." D'Arby snickered. "Now if you don't mind…" He extended his arm to reach over and slammed his arm on the table, taking his chips back along with Jotaro's three chips. He gave the Crusaders a sinister grin and chuckled once more.
Noriko narrowed her brows as she grew concerned, "JoJo only has three chips remaining…"
"JoJo…" She said in a low tone.
The delinquent still kept his usual stoic face and wasn't even bothered that he had lost half his chips already.
"Next game. Deal." Jotaro said, tossing a chip in. His eyes were covered by his hat.
D'Arby also throws in a single chip.
The little boy shuffled and dealt the cards again.
"Not only will this be our next game, it will also be your last." D'Arby commented with a chuckle and picked up his cards to take a look. He looked at his cards and wasn't surprised that he had three of a kind of Kings.
"I'll be discarding one card." D'Arby said, throwing in another chip. "Hm?" He raised his brows when he noticed Jotaro's cards were still face down.
Even the little boy blinked a couple times, confused as to why Jotaro hadn't looked at his hand.
"What's the matter, Jotaro?" D'Arby asked. "Hurry up and look at your cards and decide whether you'll bet or fold."
"JoJo?" Noriko raised a brow.
"Jotaro?" Avdol questioned with curiosity.
Jotaro silently placed his fists on the table, "I'll keep these cards as they are."
Everybody except D'Arby gasped. The gambler raised a brow instead.
"Ah, forgive me…" D'Arby placed his cards down. "But what did you just say?" He placed a hand behind his ear. "Did I hear you wrong? I thought I heard you say you'll keep your cards as they are."
"You heard right." Jotaro stated, his expression not changing. "I'm keeping my cards. I'll play with these five cards."
D'Arby frowned and slammed the table with his hand. He pointed a finger at him. "I understand that!" He snapped at the teen. "What I really want to know is why are you using those cards without even looking at them!"
"These cards are fine." Jotaro simply answered.
"You can't be serious! Stop fooling around and answer me!" D'Arby demanded. He gritted his teeth and stood up from his seat. "How can you play with the cards you haven't so much as glanced at?!"
"By the way, Avdol, I have a request." Jotaro turned his head to the Fortune-Teller, ignoring the gambler's question.
"A request?" Avdol turned to face Jotaro. "R-Right. Of course, but why have you chosen to not look at your hands?"
Irritated and annoyed by the delinquent, D'Arby slammed the table once more. "I told you to answer me, Jotaro!"
"In addition to my last three chips…" Jotaro pulled out a stack of white six chips. Along with his three chips, he moved all of them to the center of the table.
"I'll wager Avdol's soul!"
"Wh-?! What?!" The gambler shouted in shock from the delinquent's bold move. He gritted his teeth in annoyance. His eyes glanced over at Avdol.
"D'Arby, you are a calm man. Each and every move you make is calculated." Avdol remarked. "You may not be powerful but you are truly strong. I am not a man suited for gambling as my emotions tend to cloud my judgment. If I played against you, I would surely lose. But I believe in Jotaro. Although I am unsure what these unseen cards hold, I will allow Jotaro to gamble my soul since I believe in him!" He placed a hand to his chest. "Even if it means my soul is at stake!"
"How about that…" D'Arby huffed as Avdol grabbed a chair nearby and sat behind Jotaro. "The two of you have clearly become overwhelmed by the tension in the air that you're not thinking straight." He then turned to the small child.
"Boy!" He yelled at him, startling the young boy. "I said I was changing one card! Hurry it up!"
"Y-Yes sir!" The boy quickly gives D'Arby a new card.
After receiving the card and putting it with the rest on his hand, D'Arby now had four of a kind Kings.
"Mr. D'Arby, I did just as you said…" The boy smirked at himself and took a brief glance at Jotaro. "I gave this Japanese guy worthless cards he can't do anything with. My skill never fails. You will win. No doubt about it."
D'Arby settled his eyes on the delinquent. "Jotaro, I'm sure you believe this boy was nothing more than just an innocent bystander who has no stake in this, but not only all these people in the cafe are working for me, so is everyone in the view. That includes the owner and those men, too." D'Arby smirked at himself. "I will win no matter who deals! As per my instructions, Jotaro's cards are worthless. When I realized he was so audacious as to not even look at his cards, I began to panic…" He narrowed his eyes, "But that's just a bluff! How dare that little brat try bluffing against me?! Does he really think I'll fold? What a fool…"
"Hmm, very well… In addition to your three chips, I'll call with all six of Polnareff's chips." But D'Arby wasn't finished just yet. "But on top of that…" He grabbed Joseph's chips. "I'll raise you all six of Mr. Joestar's chips!" He moved all of his chips to the center and a grin spread across his face. "That brings a total of fifteen chips!"
"Excuse me?!" Noriko frowned.
Avdol abruptly stood up from his seat, "What?!"
"Wait a minute! JoJo doesn't have any more chips to wager!" Noriko protested.
"What are you talking about? Of course he does!" D'Arby said, his grin getting bigger.
"What do you mean by that?" Avdol questioned.
"Well, for proof, I need you to write this down." D'Arby ignored Avdol's question, speaking to Jotaro. "Then my Stand will be able to work." He held a piece of paper and pen.
"What the hell are you talking about?!" Avdol demanded, enraged.
D'Arby chuckled, "Jotaro, you still have your girlfriend's soul, who's right beside you."
"WHAT?!" Avdol shouted.
"Eh?!" Noriko was in shock.
The gambler already knew about their relationship since the beginning. The information had come from the Oingo Boingo brothers after their failure to defeat the Joestar's.
"Now, time to be frightened!" D'Arby thought. "You're going to lose even more confidence now that I'm forcing you to put the person who means the world to you, their soul, at risk! I can't wait to see your cool facade crumble to pieces right before my eyes! How dare you try to bluff against the great, D'Arby? I won't be satisfied until I see your poker face contort into sheer terror when you lose!" D'Arby's smirk quickly faded away when he heard the red-haired teen chuckling.
"That's fine by me, D'Arby." Noriko said with a sly smile. "I'll play along then…" She pulled out a stack of six chips and slammed it on the table.
"I'll wager my soul!"
D'Arby's eyes widened in shock, a strangled noise escaped from his throat. He was completely taken aback from the girl's move. He didn't think Noriko would willingly agree to it.
"Noriko, are you sure about this?!" Avdol panicked.
"Yes, Mr. Avdol, I'm positive." Noriko replied as she wrote her name down on the paper.
At the same time, Jotaro had a cigarette in his mouth and for a split second, Star Platinum showed up and lit it up before disappearing.
D'Arby gasped from what he just saw. "Hey, Jotaro! What was that just now?!"
"What was what? What are you even talking about?" Jotaro asked, acting as if nothing ever happened and crossed his arms.
"You just lit a cig-!" D'Arby's words stuttered as he stood up from his chair. Not having any proof from what he witnessed, he gritted his teeth in irritation.
"What's the matter, Mr. D'Arby? Are you not feeling well?" Noriko taunted.
"T-This little-!" D'Arby furrowed his brows and glared at Jotaro. "His confidence! Could it be…? Could he have used Star Platinum to switch out his cards while I wasn't looking?" Sweat trailed down his face, he was beginning to have doubts.
In the piece of paper that Noriko had written, it said; "I, Kakyoin, Noriko, will wager my soul and offer it if Jotaro loses."
The air grew tense and the little boy that was dealing the cards was now worried and began to pant. He looked over at D'Arby, only for the gambler to turn his face away so the Crusaders won't assume the boy is working for him.
"Y-You stupid brat! Don't cast that worried look in my direction! If they find out you're working for me, you won't live to see another day! Dammit!" D'Arby looked back at his hand and also started to pant.
"I have four Kings in my hand… The only hands that are able to beat mine are four Aces, a straight flush, and five of a kind with the Joker. The only way Jotaro could possibly have that is if he switched all five of his cards. Star Platinum may be fast, but could it really have switched out not just one but all five of his cards without me noticing? Of course not! How absurd! There's no way in hell he could've switched all of his cards under the eyes of the undefeated D'Arby!" He hissed. "All right, Jotaro! Let's finish this! How dare you try to bluff me with a damn cigarette?!"
While too busy lost in his thoughts, for a split moment Hierophant Green had appeared and disappeared after handing Jotaro a drink.
D'Arby's eyes widened, "EH?! N-N-Now you have a drink?! When did you…!" He slammed the table with his hand with a growl. "Y-You bastard! How dare you underestimate me!" He seethed.
"Very well then! Let's do this! My cards are-!"
"Hold it. I still have the right to raise." Jotaro stated.
Everybody gasped.
"There's nothing left to bet on, what is JoJo thinking?!" Noriko wondered.
"R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-Raise?!" D'Arby screeched. "You don't have anything else to wager-!"
Jotaro slammed a stack of six chips on the table and placed the cigarette back in his mouth, "I'll raise you my mother's soul."
"WHAT?!" Everybody shouted in unison.
"Your own mother, JoJo?!" Noriko asked.
"Ms. Holly's soul?!" Avdol questioned.
Jotaro stood up and slammed his hand on the table, "The reason I came to Egypt in the first place was to save my mother's soul. If she knew I needed to bet her soul to save her, she wouldn't hesitate. But D'Arby, that means you have to bet something of equal value in return. And that's… revealing the secret of Dio's Stand!"
At those words, D'Arby instantly stumbled back and fell on the floor as he panted like crazy with sweat dripping more from his face.
"H-His demeanor… It must mean he knows the secret of Dio's Stand!" Noriko thought to herself.
Avdol was also panting as everything became intense. "Since he most likely knows the secret of Dio's Stand and if he utters a word about it, D'Arby's life is as good as over!" Avdol averted his eyes at the delinquent. "Jotaro… If you're that confident, you must be sure to win, right? I can believe that, right? Your cards are that strong, right, Jotaro?!"
Jotaro spat the cigarette out and glared at D'Arby, "Well? Call or fold?! Call or fucking fold?! What's it gonna be, D'Arby?!"
D'Arby panicked and crushed the cards in his hand. He was scared but he knew if didn't call he would instantly lose and with having so much pride and confidence in gambling, he refused to lose to some kid.
"I'll say it!"
Both the little boy and Avdol were hyperventilating, the stakes are high. Either D'Arby folds and tells them the secret of Dio's Stand or it's over for the Crusaders.
"I'll say it, dammit!" D'Arby yelled as he abruptly stood up and smacked his fists on the table.
"I'll say it! I'm the greatest gambler in the world! I'll take the bet! I'll call! Call, call, call, call, call, call, call, call, call, I'm going to call!"
"Ca-!" D'Arby his words were cut short as he struggled to finish it. "C-C-Ca-C-C-C…" He stammered while his hair slowly began to turn gray to white.
It was getting more and more difficult for him to say it. The Crusaders only silently watched D'Arby struggle. D'Arby was petrified with fear. He was so scared that he couldn't even speak.
"C-C-C…" D'Arby attempted to say it but it was now getting difficult to breathe as well. "C-C-C-C-Ca-..."
"Ca…"
Everybody gasped when D'Arby suddenly stopped moving.
"H-He passed out!" Noriko pointed out.
The little boy yelped, "He passed out while standing up!"
"He got so nervous that he passed out." Jotaro stated.
D'Arby's heavy body knocked the table over, all the chips and cards fell on the floor.
The souls of Polnareff and Joseph were leaving from the poker chips to their bodies.
"Look! Mr. Joestar's and Polnareff's souls are returning!" Noriko exclaimed happily and turned to Jotaro. "You saved them, JoJo!" She wrapped her arms around his waist, giving him a tight embrace.
A faint blush appeared in his cheeks and Jotaro turned his head away, trying to cover his face with his hat. He wrapped an arm around her slender figure, returning the embrace and holstered one hand in his pocket.
"D'Arby knew deep down he had lost." He said, "He admitted defeat, so their souls were released."
They looked down at D'Arby, who was twitching and mumbling to himself.
Avdol raised his brows when he spotted the crumbled cards next to the gambler. "H-He had four of a kind!" He pointed out. "H-He had four of a kind with Kings! J-Jotaro, what in the world was your hand?" He kneeled down to grab Jotaro's cards and gasped, even the boy was in shock too.
The little boy who dealt the cards stumbled backwards, falling onto his butt on the floor. "I-I knew it…" He muttered.
Avdol felt like he was about to faint after seeing the cards.
"The cards I dealt him were worthless!"
"Even Star Platinum wouldn't be able to cheat against someone like D'Arby. Good thing I managed to scare him into folding because that hand was fucking worthless…" Jotaro then sighed, "Gimme a break, if I had known, that would've scared the shit out of me."
"S-Scared you?! Jotaro, did you really gamble our souls with such a worthless hand?!" Avdol asked in disbelief. "Noriko, you too! You also wagered your soul on these cards!"
Noriko smiled, "Mr. Avdol, if JoJo had asked me to offer my soul, I would've done it without any hesitation. Even though it was a risk, I trust him." She then turned her head to Joseph and Polnareff, who were groaning as they regained their consciousness.
She ran up to them and gave them an embrace. "I'm so glad you two are okay!"
D'Arby laughed like a maniac as he turned over to his back. The binder next to him that had all the souls of his opponents were being released.
"It appears the rest of his collection has also been freed." Avdol noted.
"Come on, everyone! Let's all play mahjong together! Backgammon is a lot of fun, too, and dice games are thrilling! Though I'll beat all of you!" D'Arby said with a huge grin on his face. It was obvious the man completely lost it.
D'Arby and his Divine Osiris have retired!
Noriko approached Avdol and looked down at D'Arby, "I don't think he'll be able to tell us the secret of Dio's Stand…"
"Yeah. But he was a strong enemy." Jotaro remarked. "He almost beat all five of us by himself. He's really something." He turned around and walked out of the cafe.
"He truly was a terrifying man…" Avdol commented. He then turned around and followed behind Jotaro.
Joseph and Polnareff had stood up from their chairs and were rubbing their heads.
"Ugh…" Polnareff groaned. "What the hell happened?"
"I'm not sure but my head is killing me." Joseph muttered.
"Don't worry about it too much you two, Jotaro took care of it." Noriko assured them with a smile as they left the cafe.
"We didn't get to look good at all this time…" Joseph said.
The Crusaders left behind the crazed gambler on the floor of the cafe to resume their journey to finding Dio's mansion. A certain Boston Terrier approached the group from behind, rejoining them after roaming the city for a while.

Inside the hotel room, Noriko gazed at the midnight sky with the moon illuminating the city of Cairo from her window. She was enjoying the view and it brought up memories from when she had come to Cairo with her family six months ago.
The vacation was going great but towards the end, that's when she encountered Dio. She cursed at herself for being so inquisitive. She hasn't forgotten what he has done to her; when he put his hands on her, making her submit to him, forcing her to attack the Joestars.
She frowned. She was furious at herself for being so vulnerable to him.
But all her anger was immediately brushed off when she suddenly felt a pair of muscular arms wrap around her waist, pulling her body close to the one person she fell in love with.
"What are you thinking about?" Jotaro asked.
"About my summer vacation…" Noriko replied.
Jotaro remembered at the beginning before their journey began, that Noriko had mentioned she had been to Cairo before during a family trip but didn't ask any of the details.
"Right, you have been here before." Jotaro said. He hesitated for a moment, not sure if he should ask her this question, "How was it? Before you encountered Dio of course…"
"It was great, it was with my parents, my aunt, my uncle and my little cousin…" A smile appeared on Noriko's face. "But my family knew something was off when I came back to the hotel after seeing Dio… I mean, they think something's wrong with me anyway since I'm different. I have a Stand and they don't, so they can't see it." Her smile faded away.
"I wish they did though, that way I wouldn't have felt like I was alone… But," She continued, turning around to face Jotaro. "I don't feel lonely anymore," She cupped his cheek, giving him a genuine smile. "You are my first friend, and now my first boyfriend too." She blushed at saying the word boyfriend . "You, Mr. Joestar, Polnareff, Avdol, and even Iggy have changed my life where I don't feel any loneliness, although how we met could've been different but… I'm glad I met you guys."
Jotaro stared at her for a moment. Then, without saying a word, Jotaro leaned forward and smashed his lips against Noriko's. It lingered for a moment and Jotaro decided to deepen the kiss. Noriko wrapped her arms around his neck and allowed his tongue to dance with hers, causing a moan to escape her lips. The delinquent grabbed her hips, pulling her body towards him as he walked over to the bed. He moved around to have Noriko lay on the bed and get on top of her to continue kissing her.
Then everything began to get heated.
Jotaro grabbed Noriko's legs, making them wrap around his waist. Noriko felt something hard, pressed against her pelvic and on instinct she grinded against it. A moan escaped from Jotaro, a sound that Noriko had never heard him make before and oh how much loved hearing it.
Then, Jotaro's fingers slid under her skirt, and when that happened, a flashback occurred when Noriko felt the hands of Dio go down between her thighs.
Noriko suddenly separated their lips and moved his hands away from her as they both gasped for air.
Jotaro was confused as to why she stopped, did he misunderstood? But he noticed the look on Noriko's face.
She was scared and he could feel her body slightly shaking.
"What's wrong?" Jotaro asked, concerned.
Noriko was still panting and looked elsewhere, she felt embarrassed. "I-I'm sorry, JoJo…" She sincerely apologized. "As much as I want this with you, I… I don't think I'm ready." She closed her eyes, trying to hold back any incoming tears. "We should probably wait until this is over. When we save Miss Holly and return to Japan."
Jotaro felt like there was more to it but decided not to question it. He leaned forward and kissed her forehead. "I understand. I'm sorry for thinking you wanted this right now but I can wait. I won't force you into anything."
Noriko opened her eyes and gasped under breath from his words. She felt terrible but she knew he would understand. She knows that he is aware something is wrong, after all, he's very observant.
She felt him get off of her but she grabbed his hand, making him look back at her scarred, beautiful violet-colored eyes.
"Let's just sleep in the same bed, please…?" Her cheeks turned pink.
Never have they once slept in the same bed. They always slept in their own beds even when they began dating and sharing a hotel room together.
Jotaro nodded and they changed into their pajamas in the restroom (taking turns of course.).
They both settled on the bed, Noriko cuddled next to Jotaro; her head resting on his chest, and his arm wrapped around her. She enjoyed feeling his warmth, and felt completely safe around him.
She leaned in and gave Jotaro a peck on the cheek, "Thank you, JoJo…" She muttered before falling into a slumber.
To Be Continued….
The lovebirds were about to go at it but with Noriko's traumatizing past, it prevented it from going any further. Our poor girl, Noriko. Damn that bastard Dio! (ノಥ益ಥ)ノ
To be honest, the ending scene was difficult to me to add. I wasn't too sure of adding it, I even began to have doubts and thought about removing it completely but I have been wanting to add a scene about Noriko & Jotaro for a while so I apologize if it seems out of place.
And did I reference a little cousin Kakyoin from a certain spin-off? Yes I did. (*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ)
Also, I apologize once more for Noriko having no knowledge about poker but I just assumed there were no actual poker video games back then besides going to actual Casino and play with the machines in there. (*/▽\*)
I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter! Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see ya in the next one! ~('▽^人)
