7 years had passed since that encounter. Sally had settled firmly in Mustafu, Deciding that a country that had no gods overlooking it would likely be the safest place for her to raise a young demigod. Poseidon had faded 2 years prior, after meeting their then 4-year-old son Percy at every given opportunity. Percy didn't know about his heritage and Sally saw no reason to change this. Greek monsters were no longer real. Superpowers were an everyday occurrence. She was determined to give Perseus as normal a life as she could. She told Percy that his father was lost at sea as reasoning for why he never visited again, as much as it broke her heart to lie to her child, it was the best thing she could do for him.

At the moment, however, her mind was far more at ease. Her home was full of life, with her two closest friends, Midoriya Inko and Bakugo Mitsuki, in visiting with their own sons, who were Percy's age, Six at the moment. The three boys were currently playing some game or the other outside, something to do with heroes if Sally had to make a bet on the matter. The three women were currently seated in the lounge, sipping on tea and a few small cakes Inko had brought with her.

"So anyways", came the gruff voice of Mitsuki "Katsuki refused to leave his room until I promised him I'd bring him over at some point, and that kid's about as stubborn as they get! Thanks for pulling in you two, I know it was a bit last minute."
"Oh please, it was nothing", Inko Midoriya chimed in. "Izuku is always more than happy to get to meet up with Percy and Katsuki at every opportunity, and I certainly haven't much better to do on a day off"

Sally slowly nodded her head in agreement. "Right! We mothers do need to look out for eachother at times, and if that means getting to keep Percy occupied for a few hours, I'll gladly fork over a few cups of tea!"

As if summoned by hearing his name, Percy Jackson came charging into the room, followed closely by his two friends, all of whom had entirely too much energy for children of their size. "Mom, mom! Can we please use the computer? There's a new video of All might, and we want to watch it!"
Sally smiled at the excited bouncing of her 6-year-old son. "Of course, dear do you need me to come and turn it on for you?"

"Yes please!"

Sally slowly got up and walked toward's Percy's room, followed by the three excitedly chattering young boys. She switched on the computer, found the video the boys wanted to watch, and went back to her friends. Sally Jackson could safely say that she was happy with where her life was.

Percy watched, enraptured, as he saw Allmight fly through the slowly crumbling building, grabbing civillians and dropping them safely onto the ground, before he dashed back around and punched the Gigantic villain that was rampaging through the city in the jaw.

"Boom!" came the voice of Bakugo Katsuki from the small chair to his left "It's so cool how All might can beat every villain he fights! I'm gonna be just like him when I get my quirk!"

Percy was nearly blinded by the bushy green hair bobbing up and down in front of his face as Midoriya Izuku Leant in to watch the video more closely

"Yeah! It's so cool how many people he saves! I'm gonna be like him too when I grow up! I'm gonna be the number 1 hero!"

"No way! That'll be me, but you can be number 2 or 3!"

"What about you though Percy? What do you think?"

Percy sat his chin in his palm and began to think. "Well I do want to be a hero too, I get to help people and I get to beat villains! I just hope I don't have to read too much to become a hero", he said with a frown. He didn't like reading, it was hard for him to do. His mom said he had something called... Dyslicksia? Something like that. It made it hard for him to read, but his mom promised it didn't make him dumb.

Hearing his answer, Katsuki turned to look at both his friends.

"Well, I want both of you to promise, that when I become number 1, you two will become number 2 and number 3, so I can have some real competition! I'm gonna beat all the villains, I know it for sure, so I'll need something to make sure I'm staying strong!"

The three boys continued to browse through videos of All might, watching as their collective inspiration saved civilians and fought villains, seemingly with no fear at all. This pattern continued, with the boys becoming each other's closest friends over the years. Until the time came when they began to receive their quirks.

Percy Was 7 and a half years old when he discovered his 'quirk'. Bakugo had received his just a few weeks prior and was excitedly showing it off every chance he got. The three boys, along with their mothers, had chosen that day to go to the beach, a place that Sally and Percy both loved, and took any opportunity they could to visit.

"Percy, check it out! I can use my quirk to blow up the beach!" The statement was followed by a sound reminiscent of something cold being dropped in hot oil, and a small puff of sand, as Bakugo shoved his hands into the beachside and sent the biggest explosion he could conjure, which was currently little more than a few hot sparks, into the shoreline.

"That's so awesome! I can't wait till I get my quirk too, I hope it's as cool as yours!"

"Hey Izuku, Percy, let's have a swimming race! I wanna see who's the fastest!" "That should be fun!"

Percy always loved the ocean. From the first moment, he laid eyes on it. He knew there were people who were afraid of the ocean, but he could never understand how. To him, the ocean wasn't a threat, it was purely a gift. There couldn't be any danger in something that beautiful could there? "Ok, but be careful, we shouldn't go in too deep, it could be dangerous" Izuku spoke from next to him, a direct contradiction to his current thoughts. He knew his friend was right, but he still couldn't believe that there could be something worrying about the ocean. As he ran into the waves, with his two friends close around him, his thoughts were affirmed to him. There was no way this could hurt him. It was his friend just as much as Izuku or Bakugo were. He slowly began to lose track of time and was gently floating on the water, nearly dozing off, when a wave smashed into him from above. It didn't hurt, but he thought it should have. Percy blinked, once, twice, and looked around. Wait, aren't people supposed to drown underwater?

As the realization that he was currently ignoring the laws of nature hit him, Percy swam upwards in a panic. What he wasn't expecting, was for the ocean around him to Respond. He shot upwards, far faster than he intended, and was launched above the surface of the water. He vaguely heard screams from his two friends, and maybe even their parents on the beach, before crashing back into the water. Again, wasn't that supposed to hurt him? He surfaced again, at a more reasonable pace this time, and shook off his head before turning to the person closest to him, Izuku, who was staring at him with his eyes so wide Percy was half afraid he'd forgotten how to Blink.

"Um… Perc- Percy? How- Is- is it you doing that?" "Doing what?"

"Turn around."

Percy slowly turned around to find that, all around him, droplets of water were gently floating in the air, as if someone had taken a picture of a slow rainfall. His two friends and their parents were all staring at him in shock, but, unbeknownst to Percy, Sally Jackson saw something none of the others Did. She saw the droplets forming a crown over the head of her son.

Percy sat quietly in the car on the way back from the office where he and his mother had just gone to get his newfound quirk registered. While he was definitely very, very excited, he was also…. curious. His mother had a simple food-based quirk, something that helped her already stunning abilities with food soar to new heights. This must mean he inherited his quirk from his father.

He wanted to ask his mother about it, but he knew that she always grew sad when his father was brought up, so he kept quiet. The Doctors had made Percy do a small series of tests, mostly just making him pick up a few small drops of water with his quirk, the real shock came when the small goldfish in the office turned to him and, this was something Percy was still attempting to process, spoke to him.

It said something along the lines of 'Congratulations for unlocking your abilities m'lord', which… again why was a fish calling him lord? The shock on his face was likely very noticeable, and when the doctors asked him what was wrong, and he explained himself, their excitement was almost greater than his own. The part that confused him, was that for a moment, he could have sworn his mother seized up, but it must have been a figment of his imagination. His quirk had been registered, and he was now proudly the bearer of a quirk named 'Ocean's lord.'

Despite the confusion he felt at his apparently unrelated 2 quirks, Percy smiled. He was going to be a hero.

Right, the first chapter then. Hope you guys enjoyed it, I'm sorry if it was short, still trying to find a sweet spot for length. Do review and tell me what you think, positive and negative feedback alike is appreciated. Also, I know that in Cannon quirks develop earlier than this, I made it happen later for plot reasons. Also, side question, how the Fuck do they name quirks man, is it like a random word generator? IDK. I'll see ya'll later
