Hey guys! Quick note before I start here, I've decided to make a change to canon. U.A is a college in this Au, not a highschool. This gives me more room to play with backstories of various characters, and allows me to have more mature themes with the main cast. I'm not gonna be writing smut, if that's what you think, but people will get the snot kicked out of them, and I'd rather not have that happen to kids. That's all from me now, enjoy your read.
Percy knew he was going to be late to get home, so he called his mother to let her know he would be. Since he was already late, he decided it wouldn't hurt for him to be a bit later. With this though in his mind, he walked through several residential areas, until he reached an abandoned factory building. He walked inside, careful not to scratch himself on any of the rusting metal pipes. He strained his ears, and judging by the small knocks and scratches he heard around him, the person he was here for was home.
As he had expected, Percy heard and felt a presence behind him, and had to steady himself as Himiko Togata launched herself onto his back, nearly knocking him over, and then nearly deafening him as she practically screeched in his ear,
"Percyyyyyy! You haven't visited in so long, what did you forget about me?" She swung off his shoulder, landing nimbly infront of him, and pouting. Percy grinned, it had certainly been longer than he would have liked, but school and life in general had gotten in the way. Besides, it's not like he could exactly tell his mother that he was off to go visit his homeless vampire friend.
"I'm sorry, Toga-chan but you know how it is. I'll make more time though, I promise."
Toga smiled, just as feral as usual, grabbing his arm and pulling him around while launching into a mile a minute rant about her life.
Percy remembered the first time they had met, vividly. He smiled to himself, their friendship had begun the way all good friendships begin: They tried to kill eachother.
Percy was late. Very late. He jogged down the unfamiliar residential area, as night fell. He had snuck out of home, to go out with Katsuki and some of his friends, which he began to regret when it turned to midnight. He managed to leave, but now he needed to get home. He was taking a shorter, but less familiar route, praying he'd get home before his mother noticed he was gone. His current issue, was that it was dark. Percy could hardly see, and was mainly following the general layout of the area, and praying he went the right way. Many a time, he could have sworn he heard skittering and scratching behind and around him, but chose to attribute it to rats or strays, and continue home. Suddenly, he heard a swift tapping from behind him, and his instincts screamed for him to duck. He did, just in time for a sharp, shining blade to graze against his cheek, where it would have probably cut off his ear, or more than that if he hadn't moved.
He turned swiftly towards where the knife had come from, and saw a girl, likely around his age, wearing a ratty school uniform, grinning like a complete maniac, and looking at the knife, which had a small smear of his blood on it, like it was the most precious gem in the world.
"You.. you're so… beautiful… and your blood, it smells so nice… I'm sure it tastes amazing… I need MORE"
She charged at him, far faster than he expected, and his abilities lashed out before he could fully process what was happening. All around him, the sewers burst open, with water and filth flying up and drilling into the girl, sending her flying back. Percy had to blink, before realizing that somehow, she had gotten back up, somehow more excited looking than before, and rushed him again. This time, he was expecting it, and swiftly dodged to the left, as her attempted stab flew just past his face. He used the opportunity to drive his fist into her side. While he would normally be opposed to beating a girl, most of his qualms flew out of the window when she started talking about his blood. She reeled backward, before making a wild slash with her blade, which Percy stepped back to dodge. As he prepared to make another counter, she drew a gash across his ribs with a second blade that she pulled out of her pocket, causing Percy to hiss and jump backwards. She was once again staring at her bloody knife with absolute glee, which annoyed the hell out of Percy.
"Your quirk… it's so cool… you can control water! You have a cool quirk… and you're so pretty… I'll become just like you… but I need more blood!"
This chick was freaking him the hell out. He still didn't know what her quirk was, if she even had one, but he was assuming it had something to do with her crazy blood obsession. He channelled his abilities, feeling the familiar tug in his gut as the water that had pooled around them began to form into 4 arms behind him, going over and below his own. He waited, and when she charged him again, he used two of the water arms to grab hers, before using his own fists, as well as the remaining water arms to repeatedly punch her in the stomach and head. She took the blows surprisingly well, before she broke one of her arms out of his grip and scored another gash on his forehead. He stumbled backwards, as his concentration broke and the water arms disappeared, falling back to the ground. The girl was now carefully sliding his blood off her blades into a few glass vials, and Percy wasn't sure if he was more afraid or disgusted. He took the opportunity to channel his power again, turning the water around him into whatever popped into his mind, from tables and chairs to what he imagined a capybara looked like, and throwing them at her. The girl dodged around most of his projectiles nimbly, but still got hit by several as she attempted to get in close for another cut.
Just as she was about to swipe downwards, and Percy was about to grab her arm, they heard the wailing of sirens. They both looked towards the noise and saw several police cars speeding towards them. Percy began to panic. This was not something he could explain, nor was it something he wanted on his record. Before he could think of how he would explain to his mother how he landed in prison for a night, he was pulled into a dark alley by the girl he was fighting. As he was about to punch her in the face, she put a finger over her lip, and clamped her other hand over his mouth. She then motioned for him to follow her. Thoroughly out of options, and confident that he could beat her if she tried to get stabby again, Percy complied. She led him through a series of alleys, before coming to a dark, rundown factory. She hid in a dark corner and motioned for Percy to do the same. They sat in opposite corners, staring at each other with suspicion. When the sounds of the sirens finally faded, the girl spoke.
"I'm Togata. You fight well"
Percy was fucking confused. This girl was here making small talk as if they hadn't just tried to kill each other fifteen minutes ago.
"Umm... Thanks? I'm Percy. You fight well too, I guess? But mind telling me why exactly you tried to stab me?"
The girl got a giddy look in her eye, as she pulled out one of the glass vials that contained Percy's blood. Of all the things Percy expected her to do with the blood, he hadn't expected her to bring it up to her lips and drink it. Before he could even make a sound, the girl began to get covered with a strange greyish substance, and before he knew it, Percy was staring at... himself. Himself with a Feral grin on his face.
That had been a weird fucking night. After a long discussion, Percy had remembered that he had a school and a mother, and ran home, after promising that he'd speak to the girl again sometime. That had been 2 years ago at this point, and Percy and Toga were now genuine friends. They had rubbed off on each other, with Himiko now no longer stabbing random strangers, instead stealing from hospitals (And Percy) to get her fix. Percy had gotten more confident since he met the girl, and a good bit better with his abilities due to her insistence on them sparring every other time they met.
"What about you though Percy? Do you still plan to get into U.A?"
Percy looked down at Toga, who was still attached firmly to his arm, before replying
"Yup. Entrances start in a few months, so I'll be amping up my training. But that also means I'll be seeing you more often, now that I don't have classes anymore."
The Vampiric teenager grinned maniacally at this, squeezing Percy's arm again before continuing, "And what about your other two friends? Broccoli and the Blonde?"
"They're both singing up too. I don't doubt that they'll get in either, at least Katsuki. Izuku will be fine on the written exam, but I don't know what he's going to do about the practical. He's determined, but he hasn't trained himself at all. I don't doubt someone without a quirk could get in, but they'd need to be in peak physical condition. He simply isn't"
Himiko listened quietly, after which they both sat in a comfortable silence for a moment, before she tugged his arm again. "Come on, let's go to the bakery. I'm hungry."
"You robbed someone again didn't you?"
"What? I gotta eat somehow, and don't bring up the homeless shelter again, I'm not doing it."
"Fine. I'm gonna assume you robbed some snobby rich guy and not push it further. Let's go then, before things close."
As the two walked down the street towards Togata's favourite bakery, Percy saw something in a shop window that made his blood run cold. An electronics store tv was playing the news, which was reporting on a villain attack downtown. Percy looked at the footage, and saw… Katsuki. Trapped by some giant, sentient slimeball.
"That- No way. I gotta go"
Percy pulled his arm away from a very confused Togata, and pointed at the screen, yelling "Katsuki!" Before charging as fast as his legs would carry him towards the area of the attack.
By the time Percy got there, it was too late. The villain had already been defeated, apparently by All might himself (Percy was admittedly miffed that he missed his idol, but he had bigger concerns right now)
He asked around about Katsuki's whereabouts, a sigh of relief escaping him when he heard his friend was safe. He was, however, both proud, and furious when he heard what Izuku had done. Proud, because that had been extremely brave of his friend. Furious, because it was also ridiculously stupid of him.
Percy ran down the road he had been told that Katsuki told, seeing his friend in the distance. He ran up to his friend, crushing him in a hug.
"Gods above, I was scared. Are you alright?"
His spiky haired friend froze up, before melting into it
"M fine. It's nothing. Let go of me idiot."
Percy chuckled under his breath, his friend was something else.
"Get home safe alright? I'm gonna look for broccoli head. Don't think I'm done with you yet, I'll call you later."
"He's around the corner, atleast he was last I saw him" With that, Katsuki turned around and continued walking home. Percy glanced at him one more time, shook his head and turned to go look for his other friend.
Turning the corner, Percy saw Izuku speaking to a man who looked like a blonde skeleton. Ignoring the man, he walked up to his friend, and tapped him on the shoulder
Izuku froze, and turned around slowly, to see his closest friend grinning at him, reminding him entirely too much of the wolves he had seen on tv shows.
"Hi there Izuku. So, rushing a slime villain are we?"
"P-Percy… I'm s-sorry I was just-"
Before he could finish speaking, the boy was scooped up by his much larger friend and nearly crushed by a hug.
"I'm proud as hell, but please thing more often alright? You did the right thing, but in the wrong way. It's awesome that you tried to save Katsuki, but you need to think about stuff before you do it, alright?"
He released his smaller friend from his grip, and turned to the skeletal man, who was looking at the two boys with confusion, and a small smile on his face.
"Dude, I don't know who you are, but you look like you really need a sandwich"
Alright that's that. Small note to put here in the end. The initial relationship between Percy, Midoriya, and Bakugo, was inspired by The last Olympian, written by: u/14843806/Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
It's not done yet, but it's a great story, I encourage you to check it out. The rest of my story deviates heavily from his, but the original setup of their relationship is inspired by Their story.
That's all from me for now ya'll. Have a good time, tell me what you think.
