Chapter 45: Well, now they know
OoO
James and the others were already sitting in the great hall when they heard Sirius booming laugh fill the castle walls. The next second he appeared with Izzie tucked under his arm, a beaming smile on his face as he looked at her. She leaned closer and whispered something in his ear to make him grin from ear to ear.
"He looks happy." James said, looking at the pair.
"They both do." Regulus said as he saw her tug his brother scarf before kissing him. "Never in a million years, did I think Sirius would be the one that made her this happy."
"You're not the only one." Remus said quietly watching his two best friends still in the doorway. They were both flushed from the cold outside, their hair frazzled where it appeared under their hats.
"Never thought Sirius would be in any kind of serious relationship." Lily mused. "But hey, I never thought that about you either." She poked James's side, who looked affronted. James's answer was interrupted when Izzie and Sirius sat down in front of them. They were both releasing themselves from the warm winter attire.
"Is that Sirius's sweater?" Lily gasped with a grin.
"And are you wearing Izzie's?" James snickered at the navy-blue V-neck sweater Sirius was now wearing.
"No, the most important question is -" Regulus started as he pointed at Sirius. "Are those hickeys?"
Sirius quickly shook his head until his hair covered his neck. He didn't know how many hickeys they were but apparently, they were on full display. The others all laughed as Sirius grinned with an evident blush on his cheeks.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Sirius." Izzie's fingers combed his hair back and her fingers grazed his neck. "I can remove them, just a little swipe." She moved her fingers.
"No." He took her hand in his and she looked at him with large blue eyes. "Leave them." She quirked an eyebrow. "I like that I'm marked." Regulus snorted in his tea. "Everyone will know I'm taken when they see me." She blushed and Sirius kissed her knuckles lightly.
"I'm just wondering what you two were doing when you got them?" Remus huffed. Sirius turned bright red and shifted in his seat, making everyone suspicious. Sirius never blushed when it came to sex, but since Izzie, well things have been different.
"Oh, nothing happened." Izzie waved her hand at her best friend. "It was all rather innocent." She winked at Sirius, who if was possible turned even more red.
"I'm not sure if I believe that." Remus smirked as he looked from her to Sirius. "I've never seen Pads so red!"
"Leave him be." Izzie smiled. "Or should I tell them about the summer of '74?"
Remus opened and closed his mouth as his neck turned red. "You wouldn't!" He finally gasped.
But Izzie wasn't looking at him anymore, she leaned forward and kissed Sirius softly. His hands went to her hips and pulled her closer. They parted from several people who annoyingly cleared their throats. A few minutes later, the great hall was filled with students.
OoO
Once Regulus saw Barty and Evan enter the great hall, he slipped towards the Slytherin table. Remus, Izzie and Sirius all shared a nervous glance as he sat between the other Slytherins. It's not like it is a problem now... but once Dumbledore explain to the room what had occurred...
Sirius and Izzie sat close to each other on the table but weren't affectionate to each other and focussed their attention to the others. Sirius noticed several girls looking at him, trying to get his attention but he ignored them easily, especially when he felt Izzie's foot brush against his.
When dessert came, one of the fourth years girls summoned up enough courage to speak to him.
"Hey, Sirius. I didn't see you on the train." She leaned closer from three spots from Lily.
"Came back to Hogwarts early." He said as he took a glass bowl of pudding.
"Oh, that's a shame. I would have loved to have kept you company." She batted her eyelashes excessively, making Lily roll her eyes. Didn't anyone see the love bites splattered against his neck? "That's a gorgeous sweater by the way, it suits you perfectly."
Izzie snorted in her pumpkin juice and buried her head in Remus shoulder to stifle her laughter. The corner of Sirius lips turned up. The others couldn't help but snicker too. The girl looked confused and then narrowed her eyes on Izzie.
"What are you laughing about?" She said snippy. "What are you wearing anyway? An ugly, overlarge sweater." She huffed. "It looks ridiculous. I can't believe you -" She scrunched up her nose as she looked at her. Izzie felt Sirius stiffen next to her. "Are married to one of the hottest guys in school."
"First of all, I kind of like this sweater." She smiled as she breathed in Sirius scent of leather and rain. "And second, there is more than looks." Izzie's eyes narrowed and the girl seemed to shrink on the spot. "I'm guessing you have nothing more to offer than a pretty face, and in a few years that will be gone too."
The girl was open-mouthed staring at her, trying to come with a reply. But before she could, dessert disappeared, and Dumbledore took a stand in front of the great hall. She turned her head towards the headmaster, but her hand slipped in Sirius's under the table. He intertwined his fingers instantly with hers.
"Welcome back to Hogwarts!" The headmaster gestured over the room with a beaming smile. "Normally I'm not one for speeches." The great hall filled with snickers and his eyes twinkled. "Alight, maybe once in a while. But normally I wouldn't give one when you all get back from your Christmas holls. But there are things happening that needs to be put to a stop." Izzie glanced over to Regulus at the Slytherin table, his eyes met hers and it seemed like they both held their breaths.
"We all know that at the beginning of the year, a wedding took place." All eyes on the room were divided between Izzie and Reg, but both of them kept their eyes on the headmaster. "What most of you don't know is that it was against their will. Isabelle and Regulus have been great friends for years and they were forced to marry, or they would have died. They married to protect each other." People around them gasped and Sirius squeezed her hand tightly.
"There were other consequences that made it hard on them, but I won't get into them. During this break, they found a way out of their marriage without either of them getting hurt. I am saying this because if any of you -" His eyes rested on the Slytherin table. "Are forced into something alike or just anything that isn't what you want, I urge you to contact me or your head of house. We will help you to the best of our abilities. I ask you to respect their privacy if they don't want to talk about it. I truly believe that Isabelle and Regulus will have a bright future together... as friends." He clapped his hands. "I wish you all a happy new year." He smiled before he sat back down.
None of the students moved, they were all whispering to each other and glancing from the Gryffindor table to the Slytherin. The girl who had been flirting with Sirius looked gobsmacked before her lips turned into an evil grin.
"Ha! You can't even keep a husband. He was probably just sick of your ugly mug. Or are you just that bad in the sack?"
Izzie felt anger spilling over from her friends, she couldn't care less what the girl said but Remus was breathing heavily as he jumped up from the seat. But before he could do anything, Sirius stood up and climbed onto the bench, gathering the attention to him.
"Can I have everyone's attention before you scurry off to bed." But when you looked around it didn't seem like anyone made a single move to walk out the great hall. "I have a little announcement to make. Now that the truth about my brother and Izzie has come out, I think it's time for all of you to know who my girlfriend is."
"Sirius -" Izzie hissed tugging on his trouser leg.
"Yes, some of you may have guessed already. The one that has stolen my heart is none other than Izzie." He leaned down and pulled her easily up from her seat until she was standing next to him. She ducked her head to hide the blush. "So, please keep your opinions to yourself." He glared at the girl. "Nobody can compare to her." He smiled softly at her before he loudly announced. "I'm in love with Isabelle Black."
Her eyes widened but she didn't have the chance to react, he had pulled her close against him, capturing her lips with his. Cat whistles and wolf calls echoed through the great hall as their lips moved against each other. With one arm still around her waist, he placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Izzie saw it was mostly the guys who called out to them, the girls all seemed to glare at her. That won't be the last of it. She thought to herself as she saw the jealous girls.
Sirius jumped off from the bench and picked her up at her waist to gently put her down. He glared at the fourth year. "That's my sweater, by the way." He pointed to the sweater Izzie was wearing. "Let's go, love."
He took his time as he wrapped an arm around her, kissing her temple before they strode out of the great hall. The others on their heels, and three Slytherins slipped out of the great hall behind them. Half of the room were watching a little stunned as they walked out of the room. Peter, who had been sitting on the other end of the table, stared at them confused.
OoO
They didn't go into the tower; they went to the room Izzie and Regulus shared for the past few months. Since Dumbledore didn't know how the Slytherins would react to Regulus defying his parents, they could use the room for the rest of the year. Once in the room, Izzie slipped from under his arm and disappeared in the room, closing the door with a bang.
Sirius look utterly lost and confused at the closed door.
"Oh, Pads." Remus shook his head as he patted his shoulder.
"What?" He asked, really not knowing what he did wrong. "What did I do?"
Barty was the one who answered, and he had to push down the flare of anger and jealousy for the boy. "Have you ever seen Izzie at the centre of attention? You just outed your secret relationship in front of the whole school before snogging her in front of them."
"What? Like you two didn't kiss in public." Sirius snapped. Barty just grinned with his hands defensively in the air.
"We did. But not right after I announced our relationship to the world."
"Just go talk to her, Sirius." Lily said, already pushing him towards the door.
Sirius took in a deep breath before he entered the room. He closed the door behind him and leaned against it. Izzie wasn't in the room, the door to the bathroom was ajar and steam was pouring out of it. He waited against the door until she came out of the bathroom. When she came out, he couldn't read her expression. She didn't look angry or sad. Her eyes weren't red from crying or anger. Her eyes were fixed on his, and he started to fidget on the spot from her indestructible stare. She was slowly making her way together him; he was happy he didn't see a wand in her hand, but that wasn't really a reassurance since she can do most spells without it. She stopped in front of him, she was standing so close he could feel her breath ghost over his chin.
"Izzie, I-" He stopped when she suddenly fisted her hands on his or rather her sweater and shoved him away from the door. His eyes were wide, but she didn't say anything as she shoved him again. His legs bumped against the bed and Sirius fell backwards. She climbed on the bed before she straddled him. Then her lips came crashing down against his. He had literally knocked the wind out of him from the fierce and sudden kiss. But he didn't waste any time and pulled her close to him as his tongue asked for entrance.
"Don't." She sucked on his neck. "You." The other side. "Ever." She kissed him hard as she rolled her hips. "Do that again!" She growled.
"Wait." Sirius looked confused at her as she pulled back slightly. Izzie liked this sight of him. Red, swollen lips and messed up hair, underneath her at her mercy. "I'm confused. Are you mad at me?"
"I am. You shouldn't have announced it like that and kissed me in front of everyone."
"But, why -"
"But." She placed her finger on his lips. "You claiming me like that, telling everyone you love me..." Calling me Isabelle Black. She thought to herself, but she didn't say it out loud, Sirius might not have known what he said or how it sounded like for her. "That was seriously hot."
"Oh." He gasped in surprise before her lips met his again. He loved she was taking charge like this, pinning his arms above his head, trapped underneath her. She kissed him like he was the oxygen she needed. Her hips rolled on top of him, her breasts grazed over his chest. He was hard again in seconds, and she smirked against his lips as she felt it. And, oh how he liked this, but he was desperate to touch her, to flip her over and grind against her.
She stilled on top of him when someone knocked on the door. "Iz? You didn't kill Sirius, did you?" Remus asked worried.
Izzie looked down at Sirius, and he smirked at her. "You are killing me, love." He breathed hard.
"You haven't seen anything yet." She snickered at his gobsmacked face. She gave him a last kiss. "I love you." Then turned to the door. "He's alive, for now."
"Good, good." Remus murmured behind the door. "We're going to play a muggle game Lily brought, are you -"
"Coming!" She yelled, she loved Lily's games. She heard Remus snicker. She jumped off the bed, straightened Sirius sweater and pulled her hair into a ponytail. "Are you coming?" She looked over to Sirius, who was still sprawled out on the bed. "You do know your brother and Remus had-" She wiggled her eyebrows at the bed. Sirius was out of the bed in a second as Izzie walked out laughing.
