Chapter 2 The Meet Up
Zara rang Emma's door bell.
"Hello!!", Emma enthusiasticly opened the door dressed in a lovely outfit.
"Hi",
"Yes, this is Emilia, the new doctor", Zara introduced Emilia.
"Hello, its very nice to meet you", Emma and Emilia shook hands, "well come on in, we have a party to start".
Walking into the kitchen,
"Anyone for a drink, Zara and me always share a bottle, would you like some Emilia?",
"Oh...um... do you have you anything non- alcoholic?",
"Why don't you drink?",
"No...well...actually I'm happy with just water if that's okay", Emilia replied a little awkward,
"Sorry, yes that's fine",
Zara and Emilia caught eyes for a second, Emma didn't see. Emilia just smiled politely in return.
"It's a lovely house you have Emma, you must work hard to be able to live in a place like this!",
Emma passed Emilia her water and poured Zara and herself the wine.
"Yes, I suppose...",
"...You suppose. As well as working at The Mill she also helps the police as an FME",
"Ahh yes",
"Oh, have you worked with the police too?",
Emilia with a confused expression on her face,
"You seemed to be familiar with the FME",
"Oh..not personally, Lily, who I live with she does the same job, thats how we first met", smiling back at Emma.
"Yes, female police surgeons are hard to come by",
"So, can we talk about something other than work please", Zara all the while had been obversing.
"Yes Zara's right come on through to my humble abode. We have snacks, and a game of truth or dare".
Sat on the sofa, they all chatted for a while and finished another bottle of wine.
"Oh look at the time. Sorry Emma, Daniel will be wondering where I am", Zara stood up and headed for the door.
"yes, .um...really nice to meet you Emilia. guess I'll see you tomorrow",
"Wil do, thanks for a good evening Emma, see you tomorrow ".
Zara pulled up outside a house.
"This it?",
"Yes thanks. see you tomorrow", Emilia was about to get out of Zara car when Zara stopped her,
"Emilia...if there is anything bothering you or you want to talk...you know...you can talk to me". There was a moment of awkward pause.
"I'll see you tomorrow".
