Brown eyes skimmed through the book placed on their lap. A frown appeared as brown eyes set on the picture of a small boy with dark black hair. Anger suddenly overwhelmed them as they took the marker that was by their nightstand and began to streak the picture with the dark pigment to the point where the picture was no longer visible. The frown had turned into a disgusted sneer. Hands grabbed the book in a tight hold and lunged it across the room with force.
Haku sighed and slithered lower to their bed, feeling drained from the morning. She had decided to go home early, not really feeling in the mood to play the part, not after the announcement that had been said in the PA. Haku shook her head, wanting to clear her head. She needed to do something. She knew what Sasuke was like. What kind person he truly was. Brown eyes stared at the picture frame next to the bed, Haku sighed and covered her whole body with the cover. She needed to help Naruto, but for now, sleep.
Blue eyes stared at the door in front of him. He had called his grandmother that he was going to visit a friend afterschool and it was his day off at the ramen shop. He felt nervous as he lifted his hand to knock. He waited a couple of minutes before the door finally opened. He was met with beautiful brown eyes. Naruto smiled as he saw the sleepy look that his friend gave as she yawned and rubbed one of her eyes. "Hello?" Haku's tired voice sounded cute and soft, it made Naruto smile.
"Ah, Haku-chan, I'm sorry if I woke you up." Naruto scratched the back of his head nervously, watching as Haku blinked at him and leaned into the door she was holding. She waved at him dismissively with a small smile.
"Naruto-kun, it's no trouble at all. Come in! I was about to make some food, would you like some?" Naruto raised his brows.
"Haku-chan, you know how to cook?" Haku smiled and nodded to the blond.
"Of course! Would you like me to make us some crepes? I have so much fruit to get rid of."
"Uh sure." Naruto's eyes wandered all over. The inside was spacious and had many paintings hanging on the walls. The windows were large and brightened up the house completely. He sat at a large table that was separated by a wall that connected to the kitchen. The wall had an opening to be able to see and hear Haku in the kitchen.
"I apologize for leaving early yesterday. I just wasn't feeling very well afterwards."
"It's okay Haku-chan, you really didn't miss much. I just wanted to make sure you were okay?" Haku smiled.
"Of course." She had come to the table with a plate with strawberry crepes in one hand and syrup on the other. She placed the plate and syrup on the table and headed back to the kitchen for the other plate. "Naruto-kun, may I ask you something?"
Naruto had looked up with curious eyes. His head tilted slightly. "Sure. Anything." He saw Haku hesitate slightly, her lips pursed in a small line.
"Do you, do you like Sasuke Uchiha?"
Naruto's eyes widened, he could feel his cheeks start to warm the more Haku stared at him intensely. He wanted to say no but he felt like that was a lie. Did he like Sasuke? He bit the inside of his lip, trying to give an honest answer.
"It's just…" Haku spoke again before he could say his answer. "I just don't think he's someone to trust." Naruto stared at Haku. She was looking down at the table. "With the way he's treated us in the past, he just seems like a bully." He saw her expression change to one of slight anger.
Naruto frowned, as the Sasuke of a couple of days ago popped to his mind. He had been smiling, had been different. "Don't worry about him, Haku-chan." Brown eyes looked up at him, a frown on her face.
"It's not him I care about. It's you." Naruto was taken aback at the statement.
"Me? What for, Haku-chan?" Haku frowned and placed her hand on Naruto's arm.
"You can do better than some Uchiha bully." Naruto blinked at the statement, not sure what to say. Was Haku warning him? Or was she just trying to scare him?
"Uh…" Naruto didn't know what to say as he saw anger in her eyes. Her jaw clenched tightly. "Haku…" He started gently, trying to meet Haku's eye. "Did that jerk do something to you?" Brown eyes stared at concerned blue. Haku smiled softly, her eyes looking back down.
"Not recently, no." She looked away for moment before looking back at Naruto. "I'm sorry Naruto, I shouldn't have said anything." She got up abruptly and made her way back to the kitchen. She came back with a plate in hand and a smile placed on her face. "We should go out, what do you say, Naruto-kun?"
Haku stared at him with hopeful eyes. He was slightly confused at Haku's change of subject and expression. Was Haku really okay? He wanted to ask but didn't want to probe further by making her uncomfortable. He bit the inside of his cheek, wondering if he should stay with Haku to find out if something was truly wrong.
"We could go to a movie or out to dance, my treat!" As Naruto stared at Haku's hopeful brown eyes, he couldn't find it inside himself to deny her. He gave a small smile and nodded.
"Sure, why not." Haku gave a wide smile and hugged the blonde's neck. Naruto could smell the faint scent of flowers and water. She smelled so delightful to him.
"I'm so glad! I'll get ready!" He was left alone with the plate of crepes that Haku had left on the table. He looked down and frowned.
You can do better than some Uchiha bully.
He felt his chest tighten slightly at Haku's harsh words. It's true that Sasuke was a bully, he had wanted to hate Sasuke so much for all the torment that he put Naruto through but… he had tried to apologize, he saw regret in his eyes.
He sighed again, confused and frustrated. He didn't know what to do, he didn't know how to feel and he just wanted to burrow himself in a deep deep hole where no one could find him. Haku was right, Sasuke Uchiha is a bully. Not just with him but with anyone who had defied him. He was an exception, but he shouldn't have been. The way he had talked to Haku, the cake he had destroyed to that one girl that confessed to, to Shun. Naruto felt his chest tightened. That's right, Shun. The reason why he had been admitted to the school in the first place, the reason why he had even thought of defying Sasuke. He felt like he just betrayed him.
"Naruto?" He felt a hand on his back. It was warm and gentle enough to bring him back from his deep thoughts. He looked up and stared at concerned brown eyes. Haku had changed her clothing. She was wearing a navy blue halter top that showed off her slim belly, a piercing on her belly button. She had a black skirt that reached to her mid thighs and long black stockings with high heels adorning her feet. She looked drop dead gorgeous.
"Ah, Haku-chan..." He was at a loss of words at Haku's appearance. She tilted her head to stare into his eyes. Naruto suddenly felt self-conscious of the close proximity between Haku and was a different feeling he had felt when Sasuke was close to his face. "You… you look amazing Haku-chan." Haku gave a small smile.
"Is everything alright, Naruto-kun? I heard a lot of sighing, do you not want to go out with me?" Haku looked slightly alarmed. Naruto began to shake his head, wanting to convince Haku that everything truly was alright.
"No, really, Haku, I'm okay." He gave a weak smile, trying to seem like everything was fine. Haku nodded either way and gave the blonde's shoulder a small reassuring squeeze.
"Nee, Naruto-kun, do you think we can stop by the shop as well?" Naruto thought about it and shrugged. He didn't mind going along with the dark haired girl if she needed the company, he did accept to stay with her.
"Yeah, why not." Haku clapped her hands and beamed at Naruto's acceptance.
"Awesome! Let's start with the movies then! What movie do you want to see?"
They had ended up going to a small cinema that the Naruto frequented with his friends. It easily made Haku look out of place with the way she was dressed, however, Naruto would puff up and glare to any guy that would give creepy stalker looks at her direction. Haku had paid for the tickets and Naruto had offered to buy the snacks. They settled on watching a horror film and were able to get seat in the middle of the theater. They were just in time for the movie to start.
Haku had sat beside him, positioning herself very close to him. Naruto said nothing considering the fact that maybe Haku still wanted to keep the ruse that Naruto was her boyfriend to fend off the creepy guys. The movie had lasted about 2 hours, leaving Haku and Naruto to talk enthusiastically about the movie. They tried to make their way back to the higher end side of town so that Haku could accomplish her task of shopping for some clothing.
"Ah, I want to go here." Haku had stated as they reached a very upscale building. The windows were large and wide, displaying mannequins the people inside that were shopping around. Naruto felt out of his element as they entered the shop. Haku seemed to have noticed only to frown slightly and take hold of his hand. Naruto was taken by surprise by the added warmth as he looked down and blinked at Haku. She smiled softly "There's nothing to be nervous about. If anyone gives us a hard time, we can just say you're my boyfriend." Naruto felt his cheeks warm at the suggestion but nodded either way. It gave him a sense of comfort knowing that Haku was beside him to help out. "Oh, Naruto, this would be great on you!" Naruto looked at what Haku was showing him. In her hand, there was a jacket with a large fox design in the back with 9 tails swirling around as if on fire. Naruto stared at the jacket with slight admiration.
"Whoa! That's so cool!" Naruto touched the sleeve of the jacket, feeling the warm fabric from the inside. He stopped once he tried to see if he could find the price tag off the jacket. He knitted his brows together when he did not find one. "Nani? There's no price tag." He stared at Haku who only tilted her head slightly.
"Oh, they don't bother with prices here. But if you really like it, I can buy it for you." Haku gave a small suggestive smile. Naruto chuckled nervously at the thought as he waved his hand in a dismissive manner.
"Uh… no.. no need Haku-chan. I don't really need it." Haku seemed to pout and gave him sad wide eyes.
"Nee, Naruto-kun, let me buy it for you. It's the least I can do for being my friend and taking the time to be with me." Naruto gave a slight frown, feeling his stomach drop at the pleading look that Haku was giving him. He wanted to say no considering he didn't feel comfortable when friends spent money on him, let alone something he assumed was really expensive. He grunted, wanting to say no. It seemed Haku could tell his internal frustration as she sighed and placed the jacket back. "Naruto, can I tell you a secret?" Naruto nodded slowly as he stared at Haku. She let out another sigh and gave a smile. "I kind of brought you here so that I can shop for you. I kind of wanted to buy you something as like a thank you for being such an amazing friend." Naruto could feel his cheeks warm at the compliment. He felt even more flustered once Haku took hold of his hands.
"Ha-Haku-chan, you don't need to get me anything for being your friend. Its an honor in itself to have Haku-chan by my side"
Haku could feel her cheeks warm as she stared at earnest bright blue. Her heart beat increased as Naruto's words resonated. She could feel a small lump on her throat as she continued to stare at Naruto's eyes. She wanted to cry and hug him and thank him. It only made her more angry knowing that Sasuke Uchiha was taking him away from her.
She gave a soft smile as she grabbed his hand and pulled it to her chest. "You are so amazing Naruto-san. Thank you." The need to cry came back to her, but she held strong. She let go of Naruto's hand, she did not miss the red that colored Naruto's cheeks and ears. She did not comment on it as she grabbed a sky blue shirt with a small fox logo on the breast area and handed it to the blond. "Here, try this on."
"Haku-chan-" Haku's pointer finger stopped Naruto from speaking any more as she gave another soft smile and stared at those surprised blue eyes.
"We're going to a club, and I know you wouldn't want to go in school clothes and ruin the uniform. Just this once, nee?" Haku's eyes were hopeful, it made Naruto feel guilty if he said no. He merely sighed and took the shirt.
Haku saw the young blond leave the dressing room with the sky blue shirt, a golden colored vest and black tie and pants. He looked great, though the blond did seem to look slightly uncomfortable.
"Do you not like it, Naruto?" Naruto shook his head and placed his hands up in nervous defense.
"Nee, that's not it at all!" Haku gave a soft smile. Naruto rubbed the back of his neck as a nervous tick. "Is… is Haku-chan really okay with this?" There was a small giggle that came out of Haku. She tried to cover it behind her hand before placing her palm on his bicep.
"Of course I'm okay with it silly. You look amazing, Naruto-kun." The blond teen looked away skittishly, the tip of his ears a bright red. "Alright! It seems like we are ready!" Naruto only gave a small forced smile. He felt an uneasiness in his stomach but tried to ignore it.
Neji stared as Sasuke tried to adjust his telescope by the windowsill. Sasuke's pale hands touched the legs of the stand as he looked inside the lens, adjusting it to his preference.
He was currently holding a book, now long forgotten, sitting across the room on a small red sofa. He had come over to the Uchiha household to keep the youngest Uchiha company while Kiba was out taking care of the other end of things.
Neji inhaled deeply before placing the book he held back into the bookcase that was behind him. He needed to question the Uchiha, even though he already knew the answer. He just needed Sasuke to think of the consequences to come.
"Sasuke"
The Uchiha stopped what he was doing as he turned and locked eyes with his cousin. The teen only raised a fine eyebrow as an indication for his cousin to 'get on with it' as Sasuke would kindly say. Neji folded his arms together as he stared at the Uchiha with hard eyes.
"What kind of relationship are you planning with Uzumaki Naruto?" He got straight to the point. Sasuke stared at Neji for a moment before scoffing and rolling his eyes.
"Isn't obvious? Why would you ask me such a stupid question?" Neji offered a hand as to indicate for Sasuke to enlighten him with his answer. Sasuke rolled his eyes again. "Of course I'm making that idiot mine, what more do you want me to say?"
Sasuke had said it so matter-of-fact that it made Neji feel insulted. The brunette held his tongue and narrowed his eyes at his cousin. "And you've thought hard about what's to come if you are serious about this, right?" Sasuke glared, his head held high.
"What are you getting at?"
Neji sighed. Of course he hadn't thought that far ahead. Sasuke was a smart man, he'd give him that. Sometimes, however, Sasuke wasn't one to think of the consequences of those around him. He pinched the bridge of his nose before sighing and giving Sasuke a hardened look. "I'm talking about what that means for Naruto. Are you ready for him to face all the hurdles that are about to come with you announcing him as yours?" Sasuke had frowned and crossed his arms.
"That idiot isn't so weak minded to be swayed by the likes of others."
Neji frowned. "Have you thought about how your father will feel about this then?"
Neji saw Sasuke tense for a fraction of a second before glaring at him. "Like I give a fuck about what that man feels."
"You know what I mean. He's not gonna make it easy for you. For you or Naruto. Are you ready to take that responsibility if anything goes sideways? Will you take responsibility if he goes after Uzumaki-san's family?" Sasuke was silent for a long while. He looked down at floor, thinking hard and long.
"I'll protect him." It was just above a whisper but Neji could hear his answer. He felt pride for his cousin at hearing his resolve.
Kiba took a deep sigh as he stared at the paper in his hand then up at the rundown building. He scanned the area around him, seeing two cats wandering into an alley.
He moved toward the front door of the building and knocked on the door. He waited a couple of minutes before being met with inquisitive lavender eyes. His eyes scanned the woman in front of him. He slowly took in her bountiful legs being hugged by tight black shorts. He could almost feel his lower half stir was it not for the overly large sweater that the young woman wore.
"Ah, Good afternoon, I'm looking for a Hirasuji Hinata."
The young woman in front of him blushed a pink hue as her lips curved into a small shy smile. "Th-that's me, how c-can I help you? " her voice was soft, just above a whisper. Kiba gave a friendly smile, trying to give off a comforting presence.
"My name is Kiba. Inuzuka Kiba of the Inuzuka family, would you mind if we went somewhere to talk?" Hinata seemed hesitant. "It's about Naruto. "
"Naruto-kun? Is he-is he okay?" The young woman suddenly looked panicked at the mention of the blond. Kiba tried to backtrack to calm Hinata.
"He's fine, promise. Do you mind if we talk? I know a great bakery shop we can go to if you'd like, my treat." Hinata still seemed hesitant, however, after a couple of seconds, she nodded and closed the door behind her. Kiba smiled and offered his hand to the shy woman. Hinata took his hand slowly.
At the warm touch, Kiba could feel heat flare up again. He ignored it once more and led Hinata away.
The club was filled with people. It was a heavy aired atmosphere and he felt completely out of his element. He was great with large crowds, however, he felt as if he was lying, as if he was masking himself. He felt like he was being watched by judgmental eyes even if it was untrue.
"I'm gonna get us something to drink! You want anything in particular?" He could feel Haku's hot breath in his ear, it tickled him, making him retract ever so slightly. The loud music drummed around them, Naruto was surprised he was able to hear Haku's question.
"Uuhm you sure you don't want me to go with you?" Haku gave a smile and shook her head.
"It's completely fine! Do you want anything?"
"Maybe some soda or something!" Haku nodded and patted his arm before disappearing with the crowd. Naruto frowned, feeling even more exposed. It was starting to feel hot and uncomfortable. He pushed the feeling away as he tried to concentrate on the music.
Haku had taken him somewhere on the other side of town, he was unfamiliar with the area but it seemed like Haku knew her way around. "I got you something! I hope you like it!"
Naruto felt a slim body press against his arm, he turned slightly and saw Haku holding two glasses. They were dark in color and bubbly. The smaller of the two handed the other drink to him as she began to sip from the one left. The blond eyed the drink, trying to figure out what it was.
" Nee, it's really good, Naruto-kun, try it!"
Naruto felt his stomach churn slightly, but ignored it as he saw Haku's sweet smile. He smiled back and took a sip of the drink. He could taste the sweetness of the drink. There was a strange aftertaste, yet it was minimal enough for Naruto not to question it.
Haku felt giddy as she saw Naruto finish his drink. She refrained from sounding too excited when offering another. By the end of their stay, Naruto had drank 3 and a half long Island iced teas in just 30 minutes, she had only drank 1 and had given half of hers to Naruto to finish. She felt hot and a little distracted, however, the blond had looked completely drunk. She could see how his eyes were half lidded, his speech was slightly slurred and he seemed to be more clingy towards her than he had been before they had arrived.
She decided to call a cab for the both of them to head back to her house. She was sure that if they had stayed any longer she wouldn't be able to carry Naruto back home by herself.
"You sure you're gonna be alright with him like that?" Haku scoffed at the man that was placing Naruto into the cab.
"Worried he might do something to me?" She laughed bitterly "doubt he's that type of person to do anything. " the white haired man frowned at her, crossing his arms in the process.
"It's him I'm talking about. He's too trusting, much too trusting for you to take advantage of" Haku frowned bitterly as her eyes narrowed at the man in front of him. "Eh? Is that so? You think I'd do such a thing?"
The man sighed and looked away. "You hold grudges, I wouldn't be surprised if he's part of a bigger scheme of yours." Haku scoffed.
"Tch, just keep your deal of the bargain. Don't you worry about me, or him." Haku grabbed the handle of the car door, she glared at the man in front of her before closing the door. "No good for nothing Kimimaru" she muttered as she grabbed for her bag and pulled out a water bottle. She took a swig of the water and made eye contact with the cab driver.
"Uh, is your friend there okay, miss? You need help getting him home?" The man looked slightly concerned but not enough to question Naruto's state further. She smiled sweetly and shook her head.
"No, he's my boyfriend. And he's fine, we just need to get home." the cab driver grunted before focusing his eyes on the road ahead of him.
The night sky could be seen from the window he was staring from. He had decided to take her to his home for a drink. He assumed that they would be drinking a little, she would probably let her inhibitions disappear and maybe one thing could lead to another.
All of that was shattered once he asked her if she wanted to drink and her response had been "tea would be nice, thank you"
She had a soft voice when she spoke, he found it hot, very sultry. She looked fit and very curvaceous, his ideal body type. Her personality was a different story.
"So, ah, Hinata?" She nodded as a small rouge color overtook her cheeks. He sighed internally. "Everything I'm telling you is for the sake of your friend. I've grown fond of Whiskers." Hinata tilted her head, her brows furrowed closely. Kiba's eyes settled on the plump lips of the young woman. He thought it unfair that a woman such as Hinata could exist.
Even Akamaru seemed to have a liking for her. The dog was normally very friendly with the women he brought home, the very much he would offer would be a sniff of their hands and a lick but nothing more. With Hinata, he seemed to have perched himself by her side, cuddling next to her on the couch with his head on her lap.
Traitor. Thought the brunette man as he made his way to the coffee table, holding two mugs. He set one mug down near Hinata and the other adjacent to her, clearly having no space next to her.
"A-And you thought it best to-to tell me and not Naruto-kun?" She sounded slightly peeved, her face demonstrated worry. Kiba gave a charming smile, it seemed to have worked since Hinata's blush deepened in color.
"Well, I feel like I've gotten to know Whiskers a bit with all the time he's spent with us. From what I can see from him, he's not one to really listen to advice rather than just do what he wants." He thought of Sasuke and snorted with a smile. "It's kind of like Sasuke, actually." He looked at Hinata once more, she was now petting Akamaru on his head. Akamaru's tail wagged lazily on the sofa. She was not meeting his eye but he could see the frown on her lips. He took a drink of his own and set it down. "I-I just want him to be prepared if things go any further between the two of them."
She finally looked up at Kiba, her eyes slightly narrowed. She looked angry but still cute. "Naruto-kun has told me about Sasuke-sama, how his school life has been, do you think he'll accept his apology so easily? Do you think so low of him?" Akamaru started licking her arm as comfort. Kiba felt annoyed at the sight.
"Not at all. Sasuke did things that went too far, I will say that, but as I've seen him, how he's changed, it's due to Naruto. And I know you've seen it too, there's something there. Both Naruto and Sasuke are intertwined now, and there's something developing, you see it too, don't you?" Hinata looked down at her cup of tea. She was looking at it as if searching for an answer. She eventually closed her eyes and sighed.
"If-If Sasuke-sama hurts Naruto-kun, I won't forgive any of you." There was determination in those beautiful opal eyes. It made Kiba's heart beat slightly faster. He cleared his throat and gave another smile.
"I would be truly devastated, if a pretty woman such as yourself would be mad at me. I promise to try my best in looking out for Whiskers." Hinata stood up abruptly, slightly startling Akamaru. She bowed and made her way towards the door. Kiba did not call her but stood in place, watching her leave.
As Hinata made her way to the door, she opened the door and was met with a tall brunette with long hair and opal colored eyes much like hers. She was taken by surprise at the sudden presence.
"Uh, hello, nice to meet you." The tall brunette bowed slightly. Hinata bowed as well and rubbed her arm as a nervous tick. The other smiled as Hinata looked down.
"Hello, I'm Hi-Hinata Harusuji."
"Neji Hyūga, nice to meet you Harusuji-chan." Neji stepped aside, giving Hinata space if she so desired. He gave a small smile. "If you'd like to go, you're free to go but if you'd like to stay, I did bring some sweets to eat." Neji lifted his arm, showing a small white box. Hinata hesitated and stared down once more. She played with her fingers as she pressed them together from time to time.
"S-Sorry, I-I have to go." She lowered her head and moved past Neji. Opal eyes watched the girl leave, he tilted his head slightly as he tried to think hard of why she looked familiar to him.
"Shame, don't you think?" He was brought back from his thought process by Kiba's voice. He turned and saw his friend with crossed arms and a disappointed face. Neji scoffed.
"What's a shame?"
"I'm sorry but did you not see her?" Neji raised his brow. Kiba gave a look of disbelief. "That was a perfect 35, 27,35! Men would literally worship her and she's just wasting it with those baggy clothes and personality." Neji rolled his eyes and made his way inside, pushing the Inuzuka out the way.
"I swear, if your mother could hear the way you're talking, she would punch you in the face." Kiba paled
"Yeah, and Hana would follow close behind." He shivered. As he closed the door. "Please don't tell them I said that" Neji smirked as he placed the white box on the coffee table. He picked up Hinata's cup and placed it by the sink.
"Hard to believe that the prince of the Yakuza is afraid of mommy and big sis." Kiba glared at Neji.
"Hey! It's warranted! You've met them! And you!" He pointed at Akamaru, the giant white dog lifted his head and tilted it in a confused manner. He whimpered as if questioning what Kiba's problem was. "Don't play dumb you big doof! You were all over her! Traitor!" He heard Neji laugh. Kiba grunted in frustration. His friends sucked.
She had called Naruto's guardians asking if it was alright if he could stay at her house. It seems that it had been an older man that picked up and he was beyond excited to agree for the blond to stay with her no questions asked. She was preparing the bed while Naruto was sleeping on the couch. She had already taken off almost all of his clothes leaving only orange boxers with little spirals on them. She decided to put on lace panties under her shorts and a small cop trop. She looked at herself in the mirror in her room and smiled. She made her way back to Naruto and tried to gingerly wake him up.
Once she had come home and helped a stumbling Naruto into her house, she gave him a glass of water along with another shot of alcohol. She wanted him to be so intoxicated so that he wouldn't remember clearly. It was so far going smoothly how she planned it out.
"Hmmm" Naruto was moaning and humming as she continued to shake him awake. "Sasuke" she paused at hearing the name only to clench her jaw and scowl. Why? Why was he saying his name? Thinking of him?
"C'mon Naruto, we need to get to bed." she pulled at his arm, she had to dig her heel on the floor and use force. He picked himself up and seemed to lean to the side, his body too heavy for even himself. She held his hand, feeling it warm to the touch. She felt her heartbeat increase as she lifted his hand and placed it to her cheek. She leaned into the touch and exhaled deeply. "He can't have you."
She led him to her bedroom and to the bed. She placed the covers on him and kissed his cheek. She saw the blond smile slightly and sigh. She made her way around the bed and got in to bed with him, searching for his body heat and embracing him. She too fell asleep as a smile appeared on her lips. She was not going to let him go, not to him.
Naruto woke up with a massive headache. Before he could open his eyes he already felt a dizziness and a feeling of nausea. He picked himself up slightly and begrudgingly opened his eyes slightly. He saw water at the table beside him and 2 pills. He grabbed both, drinking the water like a dying man in the desert and plopped back down on the bed. He felt darkness take over once more.
The first one to wake afterwards was Haku. She fluttered her eyes open as the sunlight hit her face. She felt the warm body heat Naruto emitted and felt herself lean to his body. She placed her arm around his waist as he pulled her body closer. She closed her eyes and pretended to sleep once she heard Naruto groan.
Naruto felt the rays of the sun shine and it was the most horrible thing to happen in the universe. He wanted to curse the sun for ever existing. He still felt a bit nauseous and his throat felt extremely dry. If he were in a clearer mind he would be asking himself what he had drank last night. As he sat up, he froze as he felt a warm arm around his torso. He shifted his eyes slowly, praying to God that it wasn't some stranger. Naruto saw the familiar long brown hair that belonged to Haku. Immediately, he felt heat rush to two areas. One was his face and the other was a small stir in his groin. His blue eyes looked down at himself, inspecting and trying to figure out what happened last night.
He only had his pair of boxers. That concerned him to say the least. Haku sleeping next to him was making him panic internally. Loud warning bells were going off in his brain as he scanned the floor and saw his clothes scattered everywhere. Did… did he…? Before he could finish his thought, the wave of nausea overcame him. He jumped off the bed and made as much effort he could muster to get to the bathroom in the room. He unloaded any content he had in his stomach into the toilet. After that he felt just a bit better, not by much but at least he could think a bit clearer. He got up and headed to the bathroom sink, staring at his reflection. He looked miserable with pale-like skin and black rings around his under eyes. He ran the faucet and splashed his face. He eyed the mouthwash by the faucet and poured some in his mouth to get rid of the awful taste in his mouth.
As he made his way out the bathroom, he stopped as he saw Haku in the bed. She had been sleeping with him all this time. Had… had they done something? He was panicking once more as he tried hard to remember what happened the night before. Had Haku taken him back to her place?
Haku stirred and made a small moaning sound as her eyes fluttered open. Big brown eyes stared at him as a smile formed on her face. "Good morning Naruto-kun." She sat up and stretched her shoulders. As she stretched, Naruto saw the tiny shirt she wore rise, exposing more skin. Haku was not big breasted but he was able to see the red lace that peeked as she stretched. Naruto swallowed hard. "How are you feeling?" Haku's question made Naruto's eyes dart back to Haku's innocent face and would falter back to her exposed belly. He could kick himself with how sleazy he was being. He looked away so he wouldn't let his eyes wander on Haku's body.
"I-I must have been a lot of trouble for you last night." Haku smiled as her eyes searched Naruto's face. He looked guilty, ashamed.
"Not at all. I had a friend help me place you in a cab and you were very helpful. But are you okay? I didn't know I was given alcohol until it was too late. I'm sorry." Naruto saw the distress on her face. He felt like hugging her.
"Don't worry, I'm just sorry I wasn't able to take care of you afterwards." He walked closer to Haku and sat beside her. "Before the drinking though, I had a lot of fun." Haku gave a smile as she reached for Naruto's hand. Naruto's cheeks reddened at the warm touch.
"I'm glad." She whispered her response as she tried to look at his blue eyes. Naruto looked up and stared at Haku. She was very close to his personal space, enough to feel her breath brush against him. She smelled nice. Her gaze lowered slightly as she pressed her lips together. "Naruto-kun…" Naruto could feel his body temperature raise as he saw Haku move closer. His heart beat loudly in his ears as Haku closed her eyes and pressed her lips against his.
His breath hitched at the soft lips against his. His thoughts were racing. He was confused and nervous as the kiss prolonged. His eyes were wide and he did not know what to do. Once Haku pulled away, his wide blue eyes stared as Haku opened her eyes and smiled, a pink hue adorning her cheeks.
"Wha-What was that?" He didn't mean to sound so scared and shocked. He was not expecting any of that. Haku looked away but still stared at the blonde by the side of her eyes. The stare was filled with need and it made Naruto more nervous.
"I… I'm sorry Naruto-kun. It's just… after last night… I-I…" Haku had her hands on Naruto's chest, staring intently into his own blue. "Naruto-kun, I like you! Please go out with me!"
As Naruto made his way through the school campus, he trudged through a chaos of people greeting him and trying to get his attention. All he could think of was the face Haku made as she waited for his answer. He felt anxiety rise as her words echoed in his mind. Haku was his friend, is his friend, so why was it so hard to say no to her?
He stopped midway and squatted down. He hunched down, making himself smaller as a small moan escaped within him. Why was this happening to him? He's a high schooler! All that was supposed to happen in his life was school and work! What was up with all this romance!? He wanted to go back to his old school! At least there, he didn't have to deal with all this drama!
He closed his eyes and placed his hands on his face so as to hide from the world. He hesitated in responding to Haku. He wanted to say no but all he could do was smile at her and tell her he needed time to think. What was it that was stopping him? He breathed in deeply and tried hard to think as to why… Why?
He heard a ping sound as he felt a vibration near his back pocket. He grabbed his back pocket and felt the small rectangular phone that Sasuke had gifted him. He had a new message as the name Konoyaro displayed on the screen. He felt slight glee as he tried to open the message.
It was a picture of him crouched down with the message underneath stating 'You look like an idiot.' He gritted his teeth so as not to smile. He stood up abruptly and looked around, trying to see if he could find Sasuke. The phone vibrated again with a ping. 'Eager to see me usuratonkachi?' His cheeks felt hot. He was both embarrassed and starting to get annoyed.
'As if, konoyaro. Stop being a creep.' he didn't get a message back. It dissatisfied him. Was Sasuke close by?
"Heard you were looking for me a couple of days ago." He heard Sasuke's voice nearby. He turned and saw Sasuke in the shadows by a pillar. Had Sasuke been hiding there? How was it that he had not seen him there before? Naruto could feel his chest feel tight as he inhaled deeply. He tried hard not to smile as he saw Sasuke's small smirk on his lips. Naruto thought back to the last time he was looking for Sasuke and narrowed his eyes once he remembered.
"Yeah, you jerk! What the hell?!" Sasuke raised a brow, his smirk still in place. "What was with that announcement?! You can't claim someone like your property!" Sasuke snorted as he placed a hand on his mouth.
"Oh, that."
"Oh that." Naruto said in a mocking manner. Sasuke seemed slightly amused at Naruto's anger. "You know how many people have been trying to get close to me? The same fake people that were making my life hell like a week ago thanks to you!" Sasuke frowned and looked away. He looked a bit hurt before composing himself.
"I know." Sasuke stared at Naruto for a moment, it made Naruto feel skittish. "It was the only thing I could think of for it to stop" Naruto could barely hear the response, but still managed. He stared at Sasuke momentarily and pouted.
"Jerk! I'm not your property!" Sasuke rolled his eyes and scoffed.
"Is that the only thing that bothered you? Does that mean that you're fine with the announcement?" Sasuke smirked as Naruto was taken back by Sasuke's comment. He could feel his cheeks warm as Sasuke's brow raised in slight amusement. He felt as if Sasuke's stare was looking through him, his heart beat increasing. Naruto was about to open his mouth to retort back, however, he was stopped by a sudden warmth in his back. He could hear a giggle from behind. He saw Sasuke's expression change to one of distaste, his eyes glaring toward his direction. At the sight of Sasuke's change of expression, Naruto could feel a heavy weight in the pit of his stomach.
"I've been looking all over for you! Finally found you. Ohayo, Naruto" the familiar voice made his hands feel clammy. He tensed as Haku moved by his side, smiling as she also stared at an angered Sasuke. "Do you wanna head to class together?"
Sasuke stared with narrowed eyes as he watched Haku clasp her hands around Naruto's arm. light brown eyes looked back at him with a smug smile. He could feel anger rise inside him. He said nothing, trying hard to keep his emotions in check.
"Uhm, H-Haku! He-Hey!" Naruto felt awkward with having Haku attached to his arm while Sasuke stared. He somehow felt the need to clear the air.
"Have you… have you thought about what we spoke about yesterday?" Haku was blushing as she looked at Naruto with innocent yet expectant eyes. Naruto's eyes shifted quickly to Sasuke and then back to Haku.
"Uhm, Haku-chan, don't… don't you think it'd be best to talk about this in private?" Naruto stared at Sasuke, a reddish color dusting his cheeks. Haku tilted her head and slowly stared at Sasuke. She gave a small surprised expression but Sasuke knew it was an act as he continued to watch silently.
"Oh, but, Naruto-kun, you said it yourself that it wasn't true, right? So it shouldn't matter if he knows, right?" Sasuke raised a brow as his eyes moved from Haku to Naruto. Haku gave a smile, it made Sasuke's blood boil. He decided that he really didn't like Haku.
"Know what, exactly?" Sasuke spoke each word slowly, not wanting to say something he would regret. Haku's smile spread wider, her eyes glinting.
"Naruto-kun and I are going out." Haku said it so matter of fact that it took every fiber of his being to not punch that smug expression on Haku's face. Naruto's eyes widened, his blush growing darker. Sasuke glared as a dark scowl slowly formed.
"Haku! That-that's-"
"Nee, it's not true?"
Haku had sounded hurt at Naruto's stammering. A couple of seconds went by before they all heard the distant sound indicating their class was about to start.
"Ah! We have to head to class! Let's go Haku!" Naruto grabbed hold of Haku's arm, wanting to get away as far as possible. Feeling guilty at running away from Sasuke and any other questions he may have.
"Naruto." Sasuke's voice made him stop. He looked back only to see Sasuke's confused face, needing answers from him. It made the blond even more distressed.
"We… we have to go."
Sasuke stared as Naruto left with the transfer student. He glared daggers at the brunette once he saw that she had turned around and gave one last pleased smile.
Irritated was an understatement. He was finding every little thing bothersome. Every time he tried to get alone time with Naruto that girl was there with him, antagonizing him with an arrogant smile. He had tried communicating with the blond via phone but he wouldn't answer.
He stared at the wooden slats in front of him, remembering Haku's feigned innocence when she stared at Naruto. The smile she would throw at him when the idiot wasn't looking. He could feel his anger rise as he lifted his wooden sword and hit the slats as hard as he could.
The sound was loud and echoed in the room. He continued, over and over again. He continued until he couldn't lift his arm anymore. Until his anger subdued. He yelled loudly and crouched down, sweat dripping to the floor.
"Sasuke-sama" Sasuke looked up and was met with dark brown eyes. The man in front of him stared at him with slight concern but bowed nonetheless. "Master Inuzuka and Master Hyūga are both here to greet you, should I let them in?" Sasuke clenched his hands into tight fists. He exhaled deeply and collected himself as he got up and dusted himself off. He nodded, Iruka bowed once more and opened the door for his two peers. Both Kiba and Neji stared at the young raven haired teen with concern in their eyes. Their stare made Sasuke feel even worse.
He wasn't supposed to feel like this. He never had felt like this before Naruto. This anger and vulnerability would make his father laugh at how weak willed his youngest son was. He hardened his features as he stared at his friends.
"Have either one of you been able to speak to him?"
Both shook their heads. Sasuke sighed as he ruffled his hair in frustration. Of course she wouldn't let them talk to Naruto either. Naruto had looked surprised at Haku's statement, even worse, she wasn't letting anyone get close to him. Sasuke sighed and ruffled his hair once more. He walked out of the training room they were all in and headed to his room where a glass of water was already waiting for him.
"I don't understand why she's doing this. And the idiot isn't even answering my messages."
"Uh, Sasuke, maybe they are going out, did you think of that?" Sasuke stared at Kiba and narrowed his eyes. He set his glass of water down and folded his arms at the brunette. Kiba was not affected by Sasuke's stare.
"Naruto looked just as surprised as I did when she blurted it out. I also find it suspicious that she hasn't left him alone since then. She's up to something."
Kiba and Neji stared at each other with questioning looks. Sasuke growled in anger.
"I'm not imagining things, just find out any information you can about her."
"That's the thing, we've tried looking into her background and nothing. The only thing I was able to find was her transcripts from this year." Sasuke looked away, deterred. Neji had placed the small manila folder that he had been holding on a desk nearby. Kiba stared at the photo that was presented in the folder and tilted his head.
"What is it?" Sasuke commanded. Brown eyes looked up as his brows furrowed.
"I've seen her in the clubs before. Maybe me and Neji can get some info there."
"And if this is all true? What then, Sasuke?"
Sasuke said nothing as he walked away. Leaving both brunettes by themselves.
"You gotta say something, don't cha think?" He didn't look up from the table as he sighed once again. He could feel his anxiety increase even more as he heard another ping from his phone.
"Chouji is right, you can't just ignore the problem and go along with it. You're gonna have to clear it out with everyone at some point and if you wait longer, it's just going to make it more complicated." Blue eyes stared at dark onyx and eventually placed his head on the table they were all sitting in front of.
"Shika, it's not that easy!"
"Then elaborate. Do you like her enough to go out with her?"
Naruto lifted his head and sighed. "I mean, I do like her. But…"
"Is it because of the Uchiha?" Naruto felt his cheeks warm. Shikamaru looked at him with calculating eyes. Chouji said nothing as he continued to eat chips, but he too was staring at him with curiosity. After a moment of silence, Shikamaru sighed and shook his head. He muttered a low "So annoying." He rubbed his forehead as if he was massaging a headache away. Naruto frowned as yet another ping was heard. "Is that him right now?" Naruto didn't answer. Shikamaru scoffed. "Don't you think it'd be best to at least clear things up with Sasuke? Try to be in his shoes. The person he confessed to isn't answering his messages and it just seems like he's going out with someone else. Don't you think you should at least give him some piece of mind?"
Naruto looked away as his mind reeled. After Haku blurted out that they were going out, it seemed that Haku was stuck to him like glue. He had tried to clear things up with the brunette girl, yet anytime he looked at those hopeful eyes and cute smile, he would wuss out and just continue the charade. Sasuke was texting him, trying hard to know what in the actual heavens was happening. He wouldn't answer back, because he honestly didn't know what to answer back to Sasuke. He was confused and in a panic. He thought maybe talking to his friends would have helped him, Shikamaru made great points but he was also just scared. This was all new to him and everything that Shikamaru was suggesting made him all the more terrified. What was he supposed to say to Sasuke? He wasn't going out with Haku but he also didn't want to hurt her feelings. Why did he need to clear things with Sasuke? It wasn't like they were together either.
Give him some piece of mind. That's what Shikamaru was telling him. But, it was hard. He thought about it after work. After having finished his conversation with Shikamaru and Chouji. He heard another ping as he headed back home on his skateboard. He stopped and sighed as he pulled out the phone. He saw a couple of unread messages from Sasuke, the most recent one asking him to meet him at a park near his home. He felt both elated that Sasuke was nearby and a bit nervous.
He made his way past his house and headed further toward the small park that Naruto used to visit with his friends when they were younger. The closer he got to the park, he could make out a dark figure that was sitting by a small bench. Naruto squinted his eyes to try and make out who the figure was. As he got closer, he could make the dark spiky hair that belonged to Sasuke Uchiha. Naruto let a small smile escape as he breathed in deeply. He said nothing as he made his way around the bench and sat down next to Sasuke. He heard Sasuke exhale but continued to say nothing. It was silent for a long moment before he was surprised by a warm touch by his hand. It was a light touch, ghost like as the ends of Sasuke's fingertips brushed against his hand. He stared at Sasuke's hand and felt that weight he felt before settling in his stomach.
"I know I have no right to act like this." Sasuke finally spoke. He was staring down at his lap, not meeting his eye. To Naruto, he sounded exhausted and small. "I'm being selfish…" Sasuke looked up and stared at Naruto's blue eyes. "I just want to know, are you happy with her?"
Naruto frowned as he saw Sasuke's eyes show slight hurt. He wasn't expecting Sasuke to ask him that. Had he been honest, what he had been expecting from Sasuke was for him to yell or be mad at him. As he stared at the teen, he could feel the tightness in his chest increase. As he saw those eyes showing vulnerability and expecting him to answer, he opened his mouth.
"We're not going out." He saw Sasuke relax at that. Naruto looked at the scenery in front of him as his frown was still in place. "Sasuke, she's my friend. When she confessed to me, I just couldn't say no to her. But also…" he stared back at Sasuke as he looked at him seriously. "With all that you put us through, you have no right-"
"I know!" The taller teen interrupted Naruto. Naruto was surprised at the outburst, Sasuke took notice. Sasuke sighed and spoke softly. "I know."
Naruto sighed. "Just give me time, yeah? I still need time to give you an answer." Naruto could feel heat start to spread on his cheeks as Sasuke stared at him with a surprised expression. Eventually, he nodded and swallowed hard.
"I'm not used to this." Sasuke's voice was soft but calming. Naruto felt his heart beat erratically in his ears. He could empathize with Sasuke's words. He too was not used to this. Whatever this was between them. Naruto exhaled as a smile tried to form.
"Really? I couldn't tell?" He tried to lighten the mood a bit, it seemed to work by the way Sasuke glared at him. Naruto laughed and then sighed deeply. "Thank you." Sasuke stared at Naruto with a questioning look. Naruto shrugged. "I thought you'd jump to conclusions. I thought you'd get mad and start a fight." Sasuke frowned and stared back down at his lap again. Naruto wanted to get closer to Sasuke, to comfort, but stayed in place.
"I'm trying" his words were honest and Naruto knew that.
Do you, do you like Sasuke Uchiha? Haku's words echoed in his mind. He stared at Sasuke, and felt content at being next to him.
Yeah, maybe he did like him.
