(Sero's P.O.V.)

I was alone in the hospital room after detectives took my statement, my heart sank when I heard that they still haven't found her. In the meantime, I just have to trust my friends to find her. While closing my eyes, images of her appear of the time she's been with us… As well discovering things that she kept so well hidden.

(Flashback)

"Whoa…" I say silently as I see Emma enter the classroom "She looks pretty cool…"

"… Take your seats" Aizawa instructs and she passes by me to head to the back room. Oddly enough when she passed by me, I smelled a slight scent of lavender. It just happened and… I look back and see her write in her journal as she ignores the lesson. She moves her hair slightly and that's where I see it… The side of what appears to be a gauze Band-Aid.

At lunchtime, I was heading to the class after eating to just kill time… I was so distracted by my phone; I didn't realize that I bumped into someone until I fell over.

"I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking where I was go-" I feel myself being pushed off by force as I land on my butt. Once I opened my eyes, I realize that it was Emma who had pushed me away. It was the way she looked that concerned me, she looked angry, but she was hyperventilating as if she was afraid.

"Watch where you're going jerk!" she picks herself up as Tomiko strokes her cheek to calm her down and she turns to run away.

"Wait, are you okay?" I asked, but she was already gone "I didn't mean to… I wonder what that was about"

I pick up my forgotten phone and check the time to see if it was time to go back to class. It was, so I continue walking to the direction.

It wasn't until the fight she had with Bakugou that I was really worried, especially after she went slightly crazy.

"I hope that psychopath gets expelled" I heard Bakugo mumble as we enter our floor of the dormitory.

Not sure why, but him calling her that made me angry. He doesn't even know her, but then again she didn't look so innocent herself.

I got up from bed in the middle of the night to pour myself a glass of milk and that's where I witness something horrifying. The moment that I realized that it was cigarettes being smoked, I went outside to investigate… It was happening at Emma's room so I hid myself. That's where I see her pull up her sleeve as she holds the cigarette in her mouth. I almost gasp out loud when I see her arm covered in scars, but I slap my hand to my mouth on time.

"Remember not to freak out like last time…" I hear her say to Tomiko as she exhales the smoke. She turns her face away as she sticks the cigarettes onto her skin as if to put it out and my eyes widen in horror when I see her face expressionless.

"It's kinda sad that this feeling has become normal for me… But then again… I've been through worse…" she says as she closes her window.

I run back inside and breathe deeply as I go back to my room, forgetting the glass of milk I left on the counter.

The next morning wasn't as good either, she just grabbed a protein bar as a breakfast meal and went back to her dorm. Tomiko following close behind, grabs a bag of beef jerky with his teeth.

"We're leaving in a minute, so don't forget-" Emma runs up the stairs before Midoriya could finish "… Your wallet"

She comes back down using the elevator this time and sits on the sofa while waiting for the others. Shoto looks at her for a moment before sitting down next to her with a book in his hand. She scoots away while not breaking eye contact from her book as he places the book down and slides it to her.

"I noticed that you like this particular author… This is their new book, you can have it if you want…" he says calmly before getting up to get something that he claims he forgot. I was barely grabbing my apple that I had left in the fridge when I see her eye the book as I see Tomiko pushes it with his head until it reaches her. She probably thought no one was looking because she picked it up and began to read it. The minute she heard the others coming down, she quickly put it back and went back to her old book. I noticed that she left her bookmark in the new book as Shoto comes back and seems to have noticed it.

"I'll hide it here if you want to keep reading it…" he slides it under the sofa as she gets up to follow the group.

While at the mall, I pull Shoto aside so I could talk to him.

"Hey Shoto, what's up with you and Em?" I ask.

"What do you mean? You mean the book?" he asks me as he briefly looks at her being savage with Denki before looking back at me "She… Sounded like me when I first came here. Especially when she said that she didn't come to UA to make friends. But if you look more closely… In that form of anger, she seems almost sad too… As if she's trying to shield herself from a pain that won't leave her alone"

As he explains this, that's where I see her flinch when Bakugo was just pointing at her and then the same when Izuku was going to touch her shoulder.

"By the reaction she gave just now…" he starts walking away "That pain must've something that haunts her to this day. If Midoriya didn't show me the kindness that helped me… It's possible that I would've ended up the same, but… We all have our own demons"

Inside the parlor, I hear the girls talk about Emma being a potential abuse victim so I take out my phone and decided to search it up… After reading a few things that causes them to act a certain way, I could somewhat understand what was happening… Especially the part involving self-harm. I see that their popular treat is the Ice Cream Cookies, so I go and buy a couple as I also order a Vanilla soft serve for her weasel.

Without thinking, I just went outside and walk up to her. As expected, she totally ignores me as Tomiko looks at me curiously. I motion the soft serve cup as I open it for him and give it to him as an offering. He looks happy and begins to happily eat it as Emma turns away with her arms crossed. So I scoot away as if to give her space, but not close to her. Looking down as to not annoy her, I gently push the paper bag close to her. She turns her head to see and slowly she reaches, but she freezes and quickly pulls her hand back.

I see… She must've thought of a bad memory, I think to myself as I decide to be slightly bold and take the treat out from the bag and lightly tap her head with it. She looked surprised when I did that.

"It's going to melt; you should eat it while you still can" I say calmly as I take another bite of my sweet treat. She takes it cautiously from me as I hear her unwrap it and I take this as an opportunity to look at her.

"Is… Are these two cookies with ice cream-" I then cut her off.

"It's a Cookie Sandwich, I got you a plain one because I didn't know if you liked anything specific" I explain as I purposely take another bite as if to tempt her to try it.

She looks at it curiously and takes a small bite… I couldn't help it as I laughed at how happy she was.

(Out from Dream Flashback)

I woke up not knowing that I had fallen asleep as doctors monitor my vitals.

You guys… Please bring her back, I say in my thoughts, I can only imagine how scared she is…

(Emma's P.O.V.)

"Open the door Em!" I hear Akihito shout as I used my Quirk to barricade myself in the room as I try to find a way to escape.

"Leave me alone! I don't want anything to do with you!" I feel my head begin to hurt as I fall onto my knees "No, not now… Anything, but that"

Once my Quirk weakens, I collapse onto the floor as the door bursts in and I hear him running inside. It feels like forever when I wake up and find the doctor checking up on me.

"Get away from me…" I pull my arm away, ruining the fact that he was bandaging my scarred arms.

"You need medical treatment; I still wonder how it is that you're still alive. Also, if you're looking for those cancer sticks, I've already gotten rid of them" he explains as he begins to follow me. Just when I see the door wide open, I feel a needle stick to the backside of my neck.

"Thank you…" Akihito says to one of his boys as my body goes limp and passes me to him "… Will you just listen to me?!"

"Never…" I say while still trying to get away while he brings me back to the bed.

"She seems to have a huge grudge against you, maybe it's best if you just let her go?" the doctor says as he collects his things into his bag.

Akihito just glares at him as the doctor just sighs in defeat as he begins to walk away. Once he's gone, he begins to stroke my head as if trying to comfort me, but I turn away from disgust.

"Look, I know that you're mad at me, but maybe this is the best way for me to explain…" he says as he sits down next to me and grabs my wrists as his other hand strokes my scars "The first time I met you, the scars you had were bite marks… It was nice having a friend that seem to understand you're in pain…" he takes my hands and has me trace his scar on across his face.

"You do know that this is starting to get creepy on a whole new level, right?" I say bluntly, but he seems unfazed.

"But it wasn't when you were eight years old…" he says happily as I was just getting annoyed, before becoming serious "Why did you keep your Quirk a secret?"

I gasp at the question as my mind goes back to when I was young and what had happened when I discovered my Quirk for the first time… As well of the disastrous aftermath.

"It was my best way to stay isolated…" I looked away.

"It was powerful, wasn't it? If you were to use it on your enemies, they would view you as a monster… To the point you allow yourself to get hurt by other students… If I wasn't there to save you, you would've been dead" he explains.

"Maybe I would've been better off dead! Meeting you… Your family ruined everything!" I was able to save enough strength to use my Quirk to throw a chair at the backside of his head.

"Don't say that!" he hugs me, which basically saves him from being hit "If I would've known if Father was going to do that, I would've… I would've…"

"But you didn't… He was punishing you by hurting me and now…" I try so hard not to cry "… My eye ended up paying the price… I was glad that I had woken up on time to escape"

"You… You don't remember?" he asked me in what I can guess was shock.

"Remember what? I blacked out after. The minute I was able to get up was when I decided to run… Why are you looking at me like that?"

His expression seemed to look happy… And then he hugs me again.

"It's better that you don't remember…" he whispers as he buries his face in my shoulder.

(No One's P.O.V.)

The Doctor had returned to get something he had forgotten, but stopped when he heard the entire conversation. His eyes grew wide when he heard that she didn't remember. Because for the Doctor, it was like as if was yesterday.

(Flashback)

"No, No! Let me go!" The Doctor was busy working on one of his men's wound when he witnesses him holding a thrashing child.

"Sir, what are you doing?!" The Doctor exclaim as another one of his men pulled a young Akihito.

"Father please leave her alone! She didn't do anything wrong, please let her go!" he begs as the men force him to see what they're going to do to her.

"Sir, what is going on?!" he tries to pull the child away from him, only for his men to grab him too.

"You Monster! Murderer!" she shouts as he straps her onto the table as he takes out a scalpel. He then forces Emma to look at him as the Doctor looks away, already knowing what he was planning.

The poor children scream, one in pain, the other one being forced to watch. But…

"Do you see Akihito? Being weak is-" Akihito's father begins, but then the Doctor hears a gurgling sound instead.

Once he turns around, he sees the straps, where she was strapped in, broken as she stands there with a broken metal pipe…. Through the boss's throat. The little girls eye still bleeds, but the Doctor clearly sees that she seems to be possessed by something. This soon confirms the Doctor's suspicion as he sees a Shadow like figure going to Akihito as his eyes are filled with tears and then glow while whispers go to his ears to taught him. Emma's eyes glow white as she pulls out the metal pipe and the man falls. The men back away in fear as she begins to walk towards the man attempting to crawl away.

"An eye for an eye…" she begins as she easily reaches him and brings up the pipe "… A life for a life…" she then swings it down with her quirk and repeatedly hits him again and again. The minute she's done, she throws the metal pipe away with her Quirk; however, because she threw it without thinking, it almost hits the Young Master.

"You little brat! You're going to pay for- AGH" along with the men ready to attack her, the shadow creates enormous spikes that impale each and one of them. The Young Master trying to get to Emma, to help her, ends up getting cut across the face.

He screams in pain as blood begins to trickle from the wound, the remaining few men take him away so he would be safe.

The Doctor sees the shadow exit her body as she collapses and the shadow appears in front of the Doctor.

"Treat her wound… Leave her cash… When she wakes… Tell her to get up and run away…" the shadow hisses at the Doctor.

(Out of Flashback)

"Could it be possible… That the Shadow still lives?" the Doctor asks himself.
