Jay slept silently on the floor while Silent Bob laid on the couch. After a long day of selling, there was nothing left for the two of them to do, but go back to Silent Bob's mom's place for the night. All was quiet as the mute Bob blew a puff of smoke while staring up at the ceiling with a cigarette between his fingers. He had lived in Leonardo, New Jersey all his life, but the man could never recall seeing Bess around town before. That was all the tubby man could think about all day at the QuickStop. Who was Bess? What was she like?
"I didn't do it..." Jay mumbled in his sleep.
Silent Bob gave a sigh and put out the cigarette. Hopefully, he would be able to her again soon.
"I'm feeling food today, Silent Bob!" Jay smiled. "We're going to make a shit-ton of money! Snoogans!"
Bess wasn't there which meant Silent Bob was not going to get distracted, or so Jay thought. Instead, his mute friend was looking back and forth across the QuickStop parking lot, trying to find the mute girl. No sound from a boom box nearby. Bess must not be there today.
Disappointed, Silent Bob leaned back against the wall, putting his hands in his pockets.
"What's your problem, lunchbox?" Jay nudged him. "That chick was a weirdo. Didn't talk or anything."
Silent Bob raised his eyebrow. If Bess being a mute made her weird, then what did that make him?
"Noich, noich, noich", Jay began rapping. "Smoking weed, smoking-"
The stoner was interrupted when the sound of music began playing.
Hello! Is it me you're looking for?
Both men turned to see Bss there with her boom box. She had a smile on her face, completely unfazed to see Jay there. The blonde rolled his eyes while Silent Bob lit up with a smile.
"What the fuck are you doing here?"
Bess pressed the buttons on the boom box, changing songs.
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Silent Bob gave a thumbs up. Bess really knew how to express herself through music. Jay shook his head at his friend.
"Pussy whipped", he scoffed.
That had to be the only reason Silent Bob was paying any attention to this broad.
"Fine", Jay said. "Just don't fuck it up for us. Nooch."
Bess nodded, taking a spot next to Silent Bob.
