There was a line of people standing outside, waiting to get into the mall. Apparently, there were a few events that were gaining everyone's attention. They were decorating one corner of the mall for their Easter display, complete with an Easter bunny for the kids. The comic book store had a special guest appearance. Some writer... or artist... by the name of Stan Lee. A lot of people seemed to be coming to see whoever this person was.
The biggest event that was grabbing everyone's attention was a game show that was going to happen that night. Construction workers walked in and out of the mall, carrying the equipment needed to set up the stage.
"Yo, want to check it out, lunchbox?" Jay asked, nudging Silent Bob.
The mute man gave a shrug. Other than buying Bess a new radio, the two really had no plans for the day.
The sound of someone panting caught Jay and Silent Bob's attention. Bess came running from the parking lot, toward them.
"Took you long enough", Jay said. "Where the fuck have you been?"
Bess shook her head as she panted. She didn't want to talk about it. Jay and Silent Bob had nothing to do with her personal life. It wasn't their problem. Jay started chuckling when he saw Bess' eyes were red.
"Been hitting the bong?" he asked before nudging Silent Bob.
The mute man glared at him, starting to get concerned. It was too early in the day for anyone to get high. The couple of times Bess hung out with them, she showed no interest in smoking weed. Not even his regular cigarettes! There was something else going on.
Security finally opened up the doors to let everyone into the mall. First thing's first. Bess needed a new radio and CDs for communication. As soon as everyone came inside, there was a small gallery of posters. All of them abstract with random shapes. One construction worker stood in front of the picture, just staring.
Jay, Silent Bob and Bess looked at each other before looking back at the man, staring as if he were in a trance.
"Cool sail boat, bro", Jay smiled seeing the hidden image.
"Son of a bitch!" the construction worker groaned. "Why don't I see it?"
The three of them shrugged it off. In the guy's back pocket were the schematics of the stage that was under construction. Still looking to cause some mischief, Silent Bob reached over, pulling the folded paper out of the worker's pocket with him none the wiser.
"Let's go before LaFours sees us", Jay said pointing.
Just across the way stood a tall man in a straw hat and dressed in a security uniform. He failed to crack a smile or even acknowledge people saying hello. That was one serious security guard.
