In this chapter, Starfire will meet Michael Morningstar. They sound like a perfect couple, right?
Sorry, no. Michael Morningstar is evil.
Raven and Beast Boy aren't such a bad couple though.
Chapter 16: Starfire In Mourning
A certain green and blue duo heard ringing at their door.
"Oh boy! My pizza's here!" exclaimed Beast Boy.
"You ordered pizza? But nobody else is here. It's just us." pointed out the girl.
Perhaps somebody hadn't thought things through.
"Whoops!" exclaimed BB.
He was wondering why things seemed quiet around the tower. Now he knew why.
Though of course, he was currently stuck to a girl who didn't normally raise her voice.
"Starfire, Robin, and Cyborg went to the mall, remember? Or as Starfire puts it, the mall of shopping?" asked Raven.
"Yeah. Her naivety is charming, isn't it?" questioned Beast Boy.
"I actually kind of agree." nodded Raven. It isn't wrong for her to want to learn from others though. After all, she was the perfect person to deal with an alien invasion.
BB noticed Raven was smiling again.
"You're smiling again!"
"Really? I feel so weird." remarked the girl.
"Well, you seem to think I'm weird." noted Beast Boy.
"It's what makes you special." admitted Raven.
"Well, I can still eat the pizza. But it'll probably be cold by the time that our friends get back." noted BB.
"You're not wrong." answered the magician.
"I can't eat it all though. I'll get a stomachache!" exclaimed Beast Boy.
"Well, you don't have nine stomachs like Starfire does." noted Raven. Even if the two of them were kindred spirits. After all, they both considered Silkie to be the cutest thing ever.
Currently, Silkie was munching on a bone…which was kind of like a dog. Everyone knew that Silkie was going to heaven, so it shouldn't be a big surprise.
"It's true, I don't." admitted the boy.
"What are you going to do?" asked the girl.
"Would you…like to share it with me?" questioned Beast Boy.
"How could I say no?" answered Raven.
As she asked that, she smiled…again.
The two shared the cheese pizza.
"I have to admit, being bonded with you isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I'm glad I decided to be nice to you." remarked Raven.
"We do have twenty hours to go though. So I might still end up making you explode in the end." noted Beast Boy.
"That's surprisingly insightful of you." remarked Raven.
"Thanks." answered Beast Boy.
Raven munched on a slice of cheese pizza.
"The fact that we both love pizza makes me wonder if we're really from different planets." noted BB.
"Well, we're not Robin and Starfire." answered Raven. Their relationship was kind of in reverse.
"Don't we all love pizza though?" asked the boy. The pizza company happened to know each and every one of their names, Though so did their fanclub.
"You're not wrong." answered Raven.
"You think everyone else is doing alright? I think we should probably stay in the tower until we get unstuck." noted Beast Boy.
"It is kind of hard moving like this, so I agree." spoke Raven.
"We sure are agreeing on a surprising amount of things today, don't we?" asked the boy.
"Yep." nodded the girl.
Meanwhile…
"It's a bit of a shame that Raven and Beast Boy couldn't be here, isn't it?" asked Robin. They could both find something that they liked here.
They were both stuck together, so they probably couldn't agree on where to go.
Though something told him that BB had ordered a pizza.
It was understandable given the circumstances.
Would it be a vegetable pizza or cheese?
Either would work for BB.
Though he had ironically seen him eating pepperoni pizza. Not sausage pizza though.
"I think they're doing great, though I will agree with you." nodded Cyborg.
"Maybe we can give them souvenirs!" exclaimed Starfire.
"That's a good idea." nodded Robin.
Suddenly, a certain alien bumped into Michael Morningstar.
"Whoops! Sorry!" apologized Starfire.
"It's quite alright." answered Michael.
Much to her pleasant surprise, she had bumped into somebody who looked rather handsome.
"I know you! You're Starfire!" exclaimed the man.
"Everyone knows about me." pointed out Starfire.
She was a Teen Titan after all.
"But you only got that anklet recently." noted Michael Morningstar.
"It wasn't too long ago. It came crashing from the sky! It reminded me a bit of fireworks…er, how does the fire work?" asked Starfire.
"Well, fireworks aren't a toy, in case you were wondering." noted the magician.
"I'm not planning on playing with fire. I know my starbolts can hurt people." admitted the girl. She wouldn't want to hurt her teammates. Especially Cyborg. He didn't do well during a duel with her.
"Of course they can." nodded Michael.
"Are you a hero too?" asked Starfire.
"I have powers, so I could become one." answered the boy.
"Maybe I should take you to my tower. Well, it belongs to my friends too." suggested Starfire.
On the subject of the tower…
"So, what do you want to do next?" asked Raven. As long as it wasn't something she would strongly object, she would oblige.
There were 18 hours to go.
"I was thinking of relaxing in a hot tub." noted Beast Boy.
"Good idea, but wouldn't we have to use it together?" questioned the girl.
They were bonded at the hip, after all.
"You don't if you don't want to." answered the boy.
"Well, I can't exactly use it when I'm wearing my leotard. But I can fix that." said Raven.
"How are you going to do that?" asked Beast Boy.
The girl snapped her fingers and a blue mist surrounded her.
She turned into a mermaid. Her tail was blue, but she had a teal strapless seashell bra.
"OK, I'm ready now." spoke Raven.
"Wow! You look beautiful!" exclaimed Beast Boy.
Perhaps hanging out with her had its perks. There were more to a girl than just her looks, however. Starfire had taught her that all too well.
"That's very sweet of you." remarked the girl. Though she did feel a bit cold in her current outfit. All the more reason to enter the hot tub, she supposed.
There were people who indeed considered her to be pretty. Everyone should remember that she has both a body and a soul, however.
"I wish I could turn into a merman…" spoke the boy.
"Actually, I think you can. You can turn into a fish, can you not?" asked Raven.
It seemed like a possibility.
"I guess I'll try it then." said Beast Boy.
He too transformed…though there was a green mist involved.
He had indeed become a merman.
"This is fun, but where did my shirt go?" asked BB.
It was gone. Hopefully it would return to him.
"Is it in my room somewhere?" questioned Beast Boy.
"I don't know, but to be honest with you, I'm not complaining." answered Raven.
BB chuckled.
"It sure is ironic when I make you laugh, isn't it?" asked Rae.
"Kind of. But I don't mind." answered Beast Boy.
After transforming, the two entered the hot tub up to their chests.
"I see why you like this so much." remarked Raven. She could do it again later, though it felt a bit weird sharing it with Beast Boy.
"Glad you like it." spoke Beast Boy.
A certain alien approached them.
"You sure are connecting surprisingly well." remarked Starfire.
"Learning about other people has its perks. You know all about different aliens, do you not?" asked Raven.
It seemed like she had been all over the galaxy. Perhaps she and Grandpa Max would get along mightily.
"Mm-hmm! I sure do! It makes using the Omnitrix so much easier!" exclaimed the alien.
"I imagine it does. Though I myself have wondered if BB is an alien himself. Does he not have green skin?" remarked the girl. It did make him look a bit like an alien.
"I probably am." nodded BB. "I think outer space is cool. And one of my friends is from outer space."
"It's me, isn't it?" asked Starfire.
"Of course." agreed Beast Boy.
"I've been hanging out with a boy named Michael Nightstar! Oh wait, it's Morningstar." exclaimed the tall girl with orange skin.
"Hi there." spoke Michael.
"You did ask Robin for permission, right? He doesn't like it when you don't ask." warned Raven.
"Don't worry, I did that!" exclaimed Starfire.
"Great!" nodded Beast Boy.
"I'll see you around." said Michael.
"Isn't he the greatest?" asked the alien.
He was so handsome and charming.
"I don't know Starfire. There seems to be something a bit off about this friend of yours." warned Raven.
"Is it because he has power over light?" asked Starfire.
"It contrasts my own, but there's something I find a bit familiar about him…and not in a good way." pointed out the girl with gray skin.
"I wonder what that is." questioned Beast Boy.
"You two have fun!" exclaimed Starfire.
She flew away.
"I appreciate you trying to make me laugh, but do keep in mind that sometimes I want peace and quiet." said Raven.
"Don't we all?" asked Beast Boy.
"Well, it helps us go to sleep." noted the girl.
"If you want relaxation, I can give you a shoulder rub. Your shoulders are currently bare, after all." noted the boy.
"I guess we can give that a try." answered Raven.
He decided to give Rae a shoulder rub.
"Hey, you're surprisingly good at this." noted the girl.
"I'm glad you like it." answered Beast Boy.
"I suppose if you want I could try wearing a tube top." spoke Raven. It wasn't quite her style though.
"I like the leotard, but you can dress how you want to dress." said BB.
"Ok, great." answered the girl.
Who would have thought the two of them would become kindred spirits?
Well, they would never agree on everything.
But at least now they wouldn't fight much.
"When we're done with this, want to watch a movie?" asked Beast Boy.
"OK, but it may take us a while for us to find a movie we can both agree on." answered Raven.
"I know what you mean." agreed the boy.
"Still, wouldn't you agree it would be best to analyze our options?" asked the girl.
"You're not wrong." answered Beast Boy.
"Good. Negotiation works best." nodded Raven.
"Yeah. I guess sometimes we should negotiate instead of fighting evil." answered BB. Jinx could be negotiated with, after all.
"Well, there's no reasoning with Trigon the Terrible. But yes." agreed Rae.
"It's nice to relax after encountering one of our most evil villains ever." nodded Beast Boy.
"You mean Ourabora? There might not be an extensive list of our shared opinions, but I agree with you on that one." concurred the girl with gray skin.
"Yeah! That snake came out of my nightmares!" exclaimed the boy. Just look at what she planned to do to them. Unless she was in the Null Void, no alien was safe.
"I wasn't there to see it (thank goodness), but I heard that she killed three plumbers. And if Max hadn't been careful, he would have died as well." noted Raven.
"That's horrible! Was one of them swallowed whole?" asked BB.
"How'd you guess?" questioned the girl, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, she is a snake." answered Beast Boy.
"You of all people would know how snakes eat. Though I suspect she eats for pleasure, not just for food." noted Raven.
"So, she's more of a beast than I am?" asked BB.
"Pretty much." answered the girl.
"Thank goodness she's in the Null Void." remarked Beast Boy.
"She belongs in there. Forever." said Raven.
Nearby, Ben told Max he was the greatest hero ever.
"That's ironically something I could say about you." noted Max.
"I agree, if a bit reluctantly." admitted Gwen.
"Awesome!" exclaimed Ben.
"Just don't let it go to your head." spoke the girl.
Cyborg showed up.
Seemed he too had returned from the mall. (The mall of shopping?)
"Hey, Beast Boy and Raven! I heard you two got stuck together! Are you two going to be kissing in a tree?" asked Cyborg.
"Hahaha, very funny." spoke BB.
"Hey, you're starting to sound like me." remarked Raven.
"I heard you two had a great time at the comedy club!" exclaimed Cyborg.
"It's true, we did." nodded the girl who could use magic.
For some reason, she found herself smiling again.
"You're smiling again." remarked Beast Boy.
"Well, I can't have a poker face all the time. Though something tells me that I would do great at poker." admitted Raven.
"Can you show me your comedy act? I want to see it for myself." asked Cyborg.
"Would you be alright with that?" questioned BB.
"Why not?" answered Raven.
Beast Boy transformed into a clam.
"I'm as happy as a clam!" exclaimed BB.
"Don't take that happiness of yours for granted. Somebody might try to take that pearl from your mouth and then you'd be a sad clam." warned Raven.
"You two are hilarious!" exclaimed Cyborg.
"I guess working together has its perks." noted the girl.
"Uh-huh!" shouted BB.
She was smiling again, but to be honest, she didn't really care.
"Are you happy we're friends?" asked the girl.
"Uh-huh! Even if we bicker from time to time." admitted Beast Boy.
"That's perfectly natural. Though I don't see Robin and Starfire fighting often for some reason." noted the girl.
"It's kind of weird." remarked BB.
"But then again, they both help each other very often." admitted Raven.
"You're not wrong." answered the boy.
Suddenly, Robin showed up.
"You might be embarrassed to hear this, but I heard people calling you both cute." noted Robin.
"They're saying that about both of us?" asked Raven.
"Are we dreaming?" questioned Beast Boy.
Raven pinched herself to see if she was there.
She was.
"Why'd you pinch me on the cheek?" asked BB.
"Huh?" questioned Raven.
"I felt it." spoke Beast Boy.
"I'm starting to think this might be a side effect of the bonding spell." answered the girl.
It seems that anything that happens to Beast Boy will happen to her as well. One could only hope that BB was careful and didn't do something that hurt himself.
She wouldn't put it past him. Though on the lighter side of things, she could always keep an eye on him in this scenario.
"If so, maybe you shouldn't be on the front lines. What if somebody punches Beast Boy in the face?" asked Robin.
"Well, he can be annoying at times. But I see your point." spoke Raven.
"Just as I see yours. We both consider him to be our friend though, don't we?" questioned the boy.
"Of course. Our team wouldn't be the same without him. And sometimes, we need laughter. Even me." agreed Raven.
"Yeah…you really appreciated my company after we fought that dragon." noted Beast Boy.
"That was the best thing that you could have done for me." answered the girl.
"Aww…" spoke Beast Boy.
"I'm nit falling for his horrible tricks again. I'm keeping him locked up in a chest. And I'm not opening it. Though I will admit I could learn a lot about magic from him if he weren't my mortal enemy. " said Raven.
"Can't say I blame you." answered BB.
"He knows all about magic…you don't say?" thought Michael to himself.
Unfortunately, he heard that.
This gave him an idea.
An awful idea.
An idea that could doom the Teen Titans.
And probably Ben and Gwen as well. He would cross that bridge since he would likely come to it.
Were they done for?
Yeah…I noticed the similarities between Michael Morningstar and Malchior. They're both awful, aren't they?
Though to my knowledge, Michael isn't a dragon.
If he was, he would be eating everyone around him.
Oh wait, he kind of is.
