In this chapter, Ben and Starfire will go to the beach together.

But it's not all going to be sunshine.

Beast Boy and Raven are going to find themselves in trouble.

Then again, when haven't they found themselves in trouble? They do fight villains, after all. You'd be hard-pressed to find a hero that didn't.

Chapter 17: Fun at the Beach

"You know, I wonder if we're not the only ones bonding." questioned Raven.

It seemed entirely possible.

"Nobody else has cast a bonding spell, have they?" asked Beast Boy. To his knowledge, no other titan had the same interest in magic that Raven did.

"I guess not." answered the girl. Nobody else ever seemed interesting in reading her spell books.

Though to be fair, magic was not a toy.

It could turn people into animals…though in Beast Boy's case he wouldn't have anything to worry about.

Mumbo might think that way, but it wasn't true.

There was still some time left before the bonding spell wore off.

"You don't want to go to your room, do you? It smells funny in there." noted Raven.

It could have to do with all the tofu that Beast Boy ate.

She had tried some herself...and had actually liked it.

Perhaps she should try something before she passed an opinion on it.

"I've been meaning to clean it, but I keep forgetting!" exclaimed Beast Boy.

"It'd probably be best if you remembered that." pointed out the girl.

As it turned out, Ben was at the beach. It was warm and sunny outside, so why not?

He was wearing his black and white trunks, and was relaxing on a beach chair wearing shades and drinking soda.

Gwen and Max were not with him.

Sometimes, he felt like having a break from them.

It was understandable given the differences in their personalities. He did enjoy hanging out with them at times though.

Suddenly, a familiar face showed up.

"Hey, Ben! You look like you're having fun!" exclaimed Starfire.

"Uh-huh." noted Ben.

He took off the shades.

It was nice seeing her…as usual.

"I guess you figured that coming here would be fun." said Ben.

"I sure did! Though I wonder why nobody else is here. Aren't beaches usually more crowded?" asked Starfire.

"I know. It's kind of weird. Have you considered dressing for the occasion? I know I am." nodded Ben.

He decided to drink a soda.

"Maybe I should put on a swimsuit." noted the girl.

Granted, her outfit never made her feel too warm (though she didn't mind wearing a sweater), but it still seemed like a good idea.

"Luckily, there's a changing booth for that." explained the boy.

Starfire nodded.

She went into the booth to change.

Afterwards, she came out wearing a strapless yellow tiger-stripe bikini.

"How do I look?" asked Starfire.

"Um, well…" answered Ben.

His cheeks were pink…as Starfire's hair. Her Teen Titans Go counterpart anyway.

"You doing alright?" questioned the alien.

"Yeah, I think so…" nodded Ben.

"Want to go for a swim?" asked Starfire.

Ben had an idea…one that would help him not blush so much.

"Hey, Starfire. Want to get buried in sand?" questioned Ben.

He figured she wouldn't object to that.

"Being buried in sand? You're not going to bury me alive, are you? That sounds scary." noted Starfire.

"No. You'd still be able to breathe. Though considering you can breathe in space, I'm not sure if you need oxygen." pointed out the boy.

"Oh, right. I guess you have a point." nodded the girl.

"Maybe later we can build a sand castle." said Ben. That sounded like a fun thing they could do together.

"Actually, I think there's a way to combine both of those ideas." answered Starfire.

"Huh?" asked the boy.

The next thing he knew, Starfire and Ben were buried in a sand castle up to their chests.

"What do you think?" asked the alien.

"You work fast...but is there a reason you buried us together?" questioned Ben.

"I figured we can rule over the castle as king and queen!" exclaimed Starfire. She was royalty, after all. Though unfortunately, so was her evil twin sister, Blackfire.

It was a very generous deal.

"That actually does sound nice. But how will we get out?" asked the boy.

"Maybe you can use your Omnitrix?" questioned the girl.

"I can't! My arms are buried...and they're stuck!" exclaimed Ben.

He wriggled around a bit to emphasize that.

"It's unfortunate that you're stuck like that...but also cute." remarked Starfire.

"You think I'm cute?" asked Ben.

"Well, people do seem to say that I'm cute." answered Starfire. So she didn't think it was wrong to think that.

"You're not wrong. Was there a reason you didn't bury us to your necks though? This is a bit atypical though I don't object." noted Ben.

"Well, I like the way the fresh air feels against my shoulders." explained the alien.

"I understand." nodded Ben. He liked the feeling too.

"So, anything you wish to talk about? We could be stuck here a while." answered Starfire.

Nobody else was here at the moment.

"Don't you have super strength? I don't think escaping from sand would be a hard task for you." noted the boy.

"The sand feels so nice it's caused my muscles to go limp...I can still wiggle my shoulders around if you like that though." spoke the girl.

"I understand. I actually like it inside the castle myself. Though up until now, I thought boys and girls were from different planets..." noted Ben.

"We aren't from the same planet though, are we?" asked Starfire.

"It doesn't matter! You can transform into a human and myself into a Tamarean...even if we can't do that right now." admitted the boy.

"I see your point. I'm glad you enjoy hanging out with me...because we'll probably be hanging out for a while." noted the girl.

"I know what you mean." nodded Ben.

It was nice that the two of them were connecting.

They might as well since they were stuck together.

"Wait...you don't have cooties, do you? I didn't bring a face mask." noted Ben.

And even if he did, there would be no way for him to put it on without using his arms.

"Don't worry. I got cootie vaccinated a long time ago. Hanging out with three boys has its perks!" exclaimed Starfire.

"And so does hanging out with girls, I suppose." nodded Ben.

He sighed in relief.

Meanwhile, back at the tower…

"I feel deja vu…" spoke Beast Boy.

"Yeah, me too. I didn't think we would find out we would have a lot of things in common." noted Raven.

BB shrugged.

"Still, getting to know your teammates has its perks. Robin's come up with some decent strategies over our many adventures that involve us working together." remarked the girl.

"We're kind of different though, are we?" asked Beast Boy.

"Doesn't stop him from keeping you around though. Nobody else here can transform into a T-Rex." pointed out Raven.

She wasn't sure if a T-Rex could beat a dragon in a fight though. They should keep that in mind that

Suddenly, they heard banging on the front door.

"Is it another intruder?" asked Beast Boy.

"Whatever it is, it doesn't sound friendly. We should check it out." answered Raven.

As it turned out, it was the Circus Freak Trio.

"Not these clowns again..." spoke the girl. It seemed they hadn't learned their lesson from last time.

It looked as if she was going to have to take them down...again.

"The Circus Freak Trio? I guess we haven't seen the last of them." noted Beast Boy.

"You had better not be thinking of blowing raspberries at them. Not unless you want to take an acid bath…or get constricted…or lose at thumb wrestling." warned Raven.

"Why would I do that? These guys kidnapped me once!" exclaimed BB.

"Yeah…I hope it didn't emasculate you being saved by a girl." spoke the girl with blue hair. Cyborg probably wouldn't let him hear the end of it,

"I don't care who saved me! I'm grateful to still be able to laugh!" exclaimed Beast Boy.

"That's very mature of you. I'm impressed." spoke Raven.

BB gave the thumbs up.

"Alright, nobody else is here, but I think we can still win if we come up with a pla-"

Suddenly, Beast Boy used the intercom.

"We have one of those now? Well, Cyborg does like designing new things." noted Raven. She wouldn't put it past him.

"Please don't hurt me! Please, I'm begging you!" exclaimed Beast Boy.

The blue-haired girl sweat dropped.

"Um, Beast Boy, I'm not sure that's going to work. You're kind of valuable to their boss. Though I appreciate you trying to negotiate so we can avoid a fight. I prefer books over that." explained the blue-haired girl.

"I'm really scared!" exclaimed the boy.

"As you should be!" answered Frightwig.

"If you're after me as well, you should know I'm currently bonded with Beast Boy. Anything that happens to me will happen to him as well." warned Raven.

"What's the problem then?" asked Thumbskull.

"Our boss told us that Beast Boy shouldn't be harmed!" exclaimed Acid Breath.

"Exactly." nodded Raven.

"Thanks Raven, I was about to hide behind my covers!" shouted Beast Boy.

"You're welcome. No point in allowing them to make a bear rug out of you when they're finished with you." spoke Raven.

"Please don't put that imagery in my head!" exclaimed the boy.

"My apologies, but being scary is kind of what I do best." admitted the girl. She liked to think she wasn't as scary as Vilgax though.

Frightwig pulled out her phone.

"Boss, we have a problem. Beast Boy is currently bonded with Raven. We can't destroy her without destroying him." explained the woman with orange hair.

"That's alright. I found a new target…a schoolgirl with blonde hair that has big eyes." explained Zombozo.

"Alright then." spoke Frightwig.

She hung up.

"Sorry, green kid. But your boss has decided he doesn't need you anymore. Hiding behind your girlfriend won't save you!" exclaimed the girl.

"It won't?" answered Thumbskull.

"He's after a school girl now. In my opinion, her name is mud." spoke Frightwig.

"For some reason that sounds familiar." noted Raven.

Had she met that girl before?

"I don't want to die! I have so much left to live for! Including pretty girls!" exclaimed Beast Boy.

"Is that really what you should be thinking about right now? The way I see it, we need to come up with a plan." answered Raven.

Though she understood how Beast Boy felt. Aqualad was a hottie.

"Wait, did she just call you my girlfriend?" asked BB.

"Why do people jump to conclusions?" questioned Raven.

Beast Boy shrugged.

The girl turned off the intercom, right as Thumbskull busted down the door.

The green boy gulped.

"What should we do?" asked BB.

"I suggest we go to my room. It's pitch black and therefore it will be hard to see us." spoke Raven.

It would be a golden opportunity for an ambush. Though knowing her colleague, he would rather hide instead.

"Your room? I thought you didn't want me in there." questioned Beast Boy. Seemed she didn't want him to touch anything.

"Well, we're not hiding in your room. I don't have a clothespin to put on my nose." explained the girl.

She could stay and fight, but considering how scared Beast Boy was, she would try to help him relax.

"Yeah, I didn't want the circus freaks trashing it, anyway." noted BB.

The two of them hid in Raven's room.

They were hiding underneath Raven's bed.

"You think they'll give up?" asked Beast Boy.

Their tower was kind of big.

It had taken him a while to get used to it.

Though having a superhero base sure was cool.

"Something tells me they're not going to give up easily." noted Raven.

"Funny, I got the feeling that Beast Boy was hiding in this room with that gray friend of his." remarked Acid Breath.

"Look at how messy his room is! That boy is a total loser!" exclaimed Frightwig.

"I heard that!" bellowed Beast Boy.

Raven pressed her hand on BB's mouth.

"Beast Boy, we don't want to let them know where to find us." warned Raven.

She released her hand from Beast Boy's mouth.

"It's alright, I locked the door." spoke BB.

"I don't think that's going to work." said Raven.

"Why not?" answered Beast Boy.

Suddenly, Acid Breath melted the door with his acid.

"Oh yeah." remembered the boy.

"Judging from the fact that the door was locked, I think it's safe to say that these two are in this room." spoke Frightwig.

"I guess that wasn't the smartest idea I've ever had." whispered Beast Boy.

"I'm afraid not." murmured Raven. Though she could understand why he did so. Being fearful made it hard to think.

It looked like they were going to have to get ready to fight.

"There they are! They're hiding underneath the bed!" exclaimed Thumbskull.

BB transformed into a snake and sank his fangs into his muscular foe.

"Ouch!" exclaimed the man.

"Good thinking." remarked Raven.

"Thanks, I guess I'm learning." answered Beast Boy.

"Starfire loves that. Though I hope she's doing better than we are right now." said the dark girl.

Meanwhile…

"It sure is nice weather today, isn't it?" asked Starfire.

"It sure is." nodded Ben.

"Although, I think something is about to happen that's about to affect our day." noted the girl.

"Huh?" asked the boy.

As it turned out, Gizmo showed up. He too was wearing swim trunks, but they were entirely black. And he was wearing a red undershirt.

"Something tells me he isn't a friend of yours." noted Ben.

"I'm afraid not." answered Starfire.

"Oh ho ho ho ho! Oh, I've waited a long time for this!" exclaimed Gizmo.

"To go to the beach?" asked the alien.

"It's nice here, but no. To have my revenge on you for blowing up my robot last week…plus your boyfriend because I feel like it!" shouted the boy.

"You think I'm her boyfriend? I was under the impression you would think I was out of her league for some reason." answered Ben.

"I see your point." nodded the mean boy.

Some hands extended from his mechanical backpack.

"What's he going to do with those?" asked Starfire.

"i have a bad feeling." answered Ben.

Sure enough, he was planning to tickle them.

Which he did.

"Stop! That tickles!" exclaimed Ben.

"Please! Continue!" contradicted Starfire.

"Wait, you're enjoying this?" asked the boy.

"Is there something wrong with that?" questioned the girl.

"It is kind of fun…but I don't think he's going to let up anytime soon." pointed out Ben.

"I can live with that." answered Starfire.

Ben shrugged.

And so the tickling continued…and so Ben and Starfire's laugh echoed throughout the beach.

I hope you liked this sandy chapter.

And yes, Beast Boy and Raven work well as a team.

Also, boys and girls aren't always from same planets. I feel like my sister and myself are from the same planet, believe it or not. Though that has to do with the fact that she's grown more mature.

I can understand why she does what she does now, however. We're both autistic.
