Zeek
Hank was standing in the Living Room.
I was sitting in my chair.
"So, what's on your mind, Hank?"
"Uh, well..."
He cleared his throat.
"Sorry to bother you, but I just know that Sarah's told you about us and the plans and I just wanted to come by, man to man and- And ask for your blessings." Hank informed.
"Really?"
"Yeah. Yeah. I- I realize it's basically symbolic."
Oh, no, no, no. That's- More than symbolic. It's- It's very important. It's a major decision here." I assured him.
"Come on and have a seat and- You know-"
"Yeah. Alright."
Hank sat on the middle cushion of the couch.
"So, uh..."
I exhaled.
"What would you like to say, Hank Rizzoli?"
"Well, uh... I don't know if Sarah told you about the Asperger's thing. Like Max."
"What do you mean?"
"Uh, well, I- Okay. I guess she didn't tell you. But, uh, that's me too to some degree. So- Just wanna make sure all the cards are on the table."
I exhaled.
"Right. I mean, it's a surprise. I- It kind of explains a few things. But, um... If Sarah's okay with it then I am too. There's-" I responded to his revelation.
"Ah. Well... Good. Thanks."
"You know, Sarah, of all my kids, I- I think she's kind of been my teacher, you know? She's the one that- In- In life- Has taught me more about unconditional love. She never went after the material things in life. The clothes, the cars, you know, all that stuff. The money. She was all about love. She was all about really giving her heart to the people that she cared about the most." I informed Hank.
He nodded his head.
"I just- Would ask- Ask you- Uh... You take care of my- My- My daughter." I told Hank.
I nodded my head.
"Yeah."
"You be there for her."
He nodded his head.
"Yeah. That's, uh- That's- That's gonna be my honor to do that. I- I never met anybody like her. I'm never gonna stop loving her."
"Yeah. Thanks."
"There's probably another thing that I came by for to tell you."
"Mm?"
"Uh... We spoke about it and she wants to do it Saturday."
"This Saturday?"
"Yeah. Yeah. That's, uh- That's what she wants."
"Well, what's the rush here? I mean..."
Hank looked over at me.
"Oh... Right. Okay. I get it."
I sighed.
