Island of Lost Dreams

Summary: a crossover of Inuyasha & Yu Yu Hakusho; they came from separate worlds but, somehow love was about to overcome their differences and hate. Love brought them together but, will society tear them apart and what's going to happen when they got themselves stuck in an island that they never heard of ... and what's this ...it's not even on the map... what are they going to do ... which is one of the reasons why they were stuck in the island called "Island of Lost Dreams" where they find themselves with secrets, trust and most of all their hearts with secret desires towards the other person?

Author Note: I made up some of the characters last name although you guys might recognize them from some of the fanfiction stories out there so please lay off the rude comments saying I stole them since it's very common for authors to come up with the last names ... so pls lay off... if you don't like the stories then don't bother reading thank you...

Prologue

Kagome's P.O.V.

The others and I were separated from this massive storm that just came out of nowhere which was unusual especially when we're in a middle of a mission talking about the plan inside Sesshomaru's yacht. I was a bit surprised he knew what it was but, that's what happens when you go to the future of Tokyo from the past feudal era. It's been hectic these past few months not only that Souta and I were orphaned not that we don't have any relatives to stay with but, everyone back in Tokyo thinks that Souta and I are dead thanks to the fire explosion. It's a lot to take in. I've been unconscious for nearly 2 ½ months that nearly scared Souta, Inuyasha and the gang but, also for Sesshomaru. He may not show it but, I can tell he cares for me as a sister even if he won't admit it now. A lot has changed since I lost mama and grandpa but, at least I have Souta and my cousin Kurama. It may be awkward at first but, eventually I opened up my heart little by little by gaining my trust with them.

I remember that mama told me about grandma in my mom's side, apparently my grandparents from both my parents side don't get along which would be understandable since they have different beliefs but, eventually they put aside their differences towards each other and focused on their grandchildren so you can see the tension and awkwardness within my family. You see my grandma in my mom's side, her mom I don't see her or remember her much growing up which is weird since she doesn't live that far from where the temple was. I guess after my dad died it was like my dad's side didn't even bother to check on me or Souta because of it. It's like we became ghost to them. Nonexistent.

But, after learning that mama and grandpa are gone, I guess it left me and Souta under her care besides my aunt and her family. That was until Sesshomaru explained to my grandmother that he and Inuyasha adopted us into their family which she argued at first despite how Sesshomaru is the current Lord of the West through their late father…they eventually made an agreement that Souta and I would visit grandma whenever she wants even if wasn't an occasion…we're her only grandchildren in her youngest daughter's side, who wants to reconnect with us and make up to us from the past couple of years.

Of course despite everything I don't want that but, Souta my little brother wants to reconnect with our dad's side along with grandma from our mom's side…he wants to learn how to fight and defend himself against bullies or in this case demons since I didn't want that for Souta but, eventually agreed thanks to Yusuke, Kouga and Inuyasha who agreed that Souta should defend himself. It took a long time for me to accept that but, I eventually agreed to let Souta to defend himself against demons or in this case bullies. After what happen to mama and grandpa, I vowed to myself that I'd do anything in my power to protect my baby brother Souta after all he's my only family besides my cousin and his family in my dad's side along with grandma in my mom's side and that's what I intend to do but, first I need to look for him in this dream island or whatever island we are.

"Hey Kagome watch—" a voice starts to say until I ran into the tree with an 'Oomph' and ended up falling down where he winced at this "Out,"

I rubbed my head blinking my eyes, I must've been deep into my thoughts that I didn't even notice this tree in the way.

"Where did this tree come from DIE TREE DIE!?" I exclaimed clawing the palm trees cut into wood causing Yusuke to blankly stare at me.

Yusuke however, shrugged continued his way…how did Yusuke and I ended up separated from everyone I have no idea but, I was determined to find my little brother along with my friends and that's exactly what I intend to do and I'm sure Yusuke is doing the same way even if he doesn't look like it as we continued to look for everyone.

"You okay there…?" Yusuke asked raising his eyebrow at me.

"I'm fine," I rapidly got up cleaning up the dirt off me ignoring his question about the trees.

"Sure, sure," Yusuke began to say rocking himself back and forth offered his hand "Need a hand?" he asked.

I looked at him suspiciously and slowly accepted his hand.

"I don't know why you gotta take down the tree Kags…since we're in the middle of nowhere in this jungle in this unknown island that we never heard of," Yusuke explained.

"I'm fine," I quickly added ignoring his question once more.

"Yeah whatever," Yusuke began to say as we continued our way through the jungle and paused for a moment trying to think where to go since there's two directions to go "So uh….so you and Kurama are cousins huh?" he asked.

'I guess he's trying to make conversation between us since it's kind of awkward poor guy,' I thought to myself.

"Mhmm," I replied trying to get through this massive, large leaves out of the way which was hard to do until he used his blade knife to cut them out causing me to stare at him in disbelief that was until he noticed me staring at him that he raised his eyebrow at him.

"What?" Yusuke asked.

"Oh nothing…it's just you could've done that before I use my claws it would've took forever to cut these large leaves out of the way," I told him with a shrug.

Yusuke stared at me for a long moment with a low chuckle "That's because you never asked me if you needed help, you're determined to do everything on your own. Not a lot of people would do that especially girls," he explained.

"And what's that supposed to mean?" I demanded at this feeling a bit defensive at this comment.

"Nothing…I'm not saying it's a bad thing it's just…you're a lot different than I thought you'd be and I respect that," Yusuke explained.

"Do you?" I asked.

"Yeah…compared to—" Yusuke stopped mid-sentence then shook his head at this "Never mind," he mumbled under his breath.

"No tell me since we're having a conversation about it," I told him.

Yusuke stopped to look at me with a raise eyebrow "I don't have to explain myself with you," he explained.

"Then don't make conversation that you can't keep Yusuke," I told him.

I walked past him causing him to gawk at me which I noticed from a corner of my eye.

"What?" I asked.

"You said my name…" Yusuke mumbled.

"Well …that is your name, isn't it?" I asked.

"…it is…I just…you always called me …what was it that you called me," Yusuke replied.

"Pretty boy," I mumbled under my breath.

"Right…pretty boy. I'm far from a pretty boy," Yusuke snorted at this as he continued his way to the jungle "Why did you call me pretty boy anyway?" he asked.

"Don't know just feel like it," I told him with a shrug and before I knew it I bumped into another tree and made an 'Oomph,' falling to the ground once more.

"You okay down there Kags?" Yusuke smirked at this "Need any help there?"

"No I don't need help," I denied this.

"Riiiiiight," Yusuke giving me a blank 'you need my help you just can't admit it,' look "You seriously need to pay attention Kags," he quickly added causing me to shrug my shoulders.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," I waved him off as I continued to yell for my friends "INUYASHA! SANGO! MIROKU! SHIPPO! SOUTA! ANYBODY! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?!" I yelled for my friends thru the distance.

"I hardly doubt that they can hear you from this jungle since we're miles away in this island," Yusuke complained.

"Well I don't see you come up with any ideas or plans either Yusuke," I began to say with a huff as I stopped for a moment trying not to worry over my little brother "Who knows where my brother can be…he's the only family I got left besides my grandma from my mom's side and cousin in my dad's side….I can't lose him…I just can't," I whispered.

Yusuke noticed my tone and looked a bit uncomfortable about to say something but, I cut him off.

"We should keep going and find a place to stay for the night it's getting late," I quickly added.

"Right," Yusuke murmured.

Nobody's P.O.V.

"Come on we better keep going and I'm not planning on giving up on my little brother. I mean I'm sure he's fine maybe he's with the others …if anything happens to him…they would have to kill me first," I told him passing him walking ahead of him.

"Look…I know how worried sick you are with your brother and I'm sure he's fine he could be with the others who knows…but, why don't we just stay here for the night and look for them in the morning. What do you say?" Yusuke asked.

However, Kagome just gave a blank disbelief on her face which Yusuke shifted uncomfortable.

"What?" Yusuke asked.

"….Nothing," Kagome murmured.

"It beats sleeping on the dirt besides… I see a cave up ahead behind the waterfalls we can stay there for the night and continue to look for everyone early in the morning," Yusuke explained.

"…Okay we can do that," Kagome murmured.

As soon as Kagome and Yusuke reached to the waterfalls, she put her feet on the water hole resting her feet. She shivered from the cold not noticing that Yusuke noticed how cold she was as she didn't bring her jacket with her and lend her his jacket. Apparently, it shocked her about to protest but, Yusuke wouldn't have it.

"I wasn't going to let you get sick besides you looked cold in this weather your cousin will have my head if anything bad were to ever happen to you since he just reconnected with you. You guys seems close," Yusuke explained.

"We used to be best friends when we were kids and I guess we reconnected after what happen to my mama and grandpa," Kagome explained.

"You must miss them huh?" Yusuke asked.

"….Yeah, I do very much…" Kagome murmured sadly.

Not even noticing that Yusuke was wearing a black t-shirt which was a bit tight and she can see his muscles were showing that left me shake my head that I shouldn't be thinking this way…nodding to him as a thank.

"Anyway we'll stay here for the night and look for them in the morning. So get some sleep," Yusuke replied.

"Night…" Kagome whispered.

"Good night," Yusuke murmured.

Once Kagome was getting myself comfortable, she realized that he didn't have anything to use as a pillow so I gave back his jacket where he raised his eyebrow at me.

"What? I can use my sweater as a pillow and you need something to rest your head so …you might as well… you know use your jacket as a pillow," Kagome murmured.

Yusuke stared at me with this look on his face, leaning against the wall as we're inside the cave, he had his arms behind his head.

"I'll be fine it's not like this hasn't happened before for me and my friends… and I figured you're going to need it more than me since it's going to be really cold tonight," Yusuke explained.

"How do you know that?"

"I can just tell from the clouds up there besides with this type of jungle it's bound to get cold tonight,"

"Yeah but—" Kagome protested where he grabbed her into his lap leaving her to widen her eyes as he continued to raise his eyebrow and made a slight smirk

"Besides… we might as well keep ourselves warm don't you think?" he asked.

Kagome gave a blank look on her face not sure if he was flirting or just being a guy; she decided both.

"If I didn't know any better, I would think you're trying to seduce me Yusuke,"

Yusuke smirked "Maybe…is it working?"

Kagome snorted at this "No," she flatly replied.

"Are you sure about that?"

"I'm quite positive since you're not my type,"

"I beg to differ I'm usually everyone's type,"

"Well not this girl so…get that thought out of the gutter Yusuke,"

"Damn…" Yusuke sighed dramatically causing Kagome to raise her eyebrow at him "Oh well…one of these days I'm going to figure you out Kags…" he explained.

"Sure…whatever you say Yusuke" Kagome was making herself comfortable despite how she's laying against him "Don't even think of trying make moves on me because I will know… and the only reason I'm sitting on your lap is because we can't make a fire …and my lighter isn't working …so don't even think about it," she warned him.

Yusuke made a smirk "Eh…it was worth a try and don't worry unlike some guys I actually …respect girls," he explained.

"You may look tough in the outside but, you're just a cuddle teddy bear," Kagome murmured causing Yusuke chuckled under his breath.

"Only with you…but, if you tell that to anyone, I'll deny everything," Yusuke murmured.

Kagome rolled her eyes as she felt drowsy and drifted off to sleep against his shoulders at first, I felt him tense but, relaxed after a few seconds and fell asleep after her.

[In the other side of the island—southwest where you'll see a half demon—Inuyasha with Kuruma who's a full demon of a fox who happens to be Kagome's and Souta's cousin from their father's side]...

Inuyasha's P.O.V.

"KAGOME! WHERE ARE YOU!" I began to say and punched a tree in anger "Damn it…not again ...this can't be happening again…" I growled in frustration.

"You do realize that's not going to work especially since we're in the middle of nowhere of the jungle where they can be anywhere...it won't bring her back," a voice replied who sounded rather tired.

"I'm not giving up on her...I promised her grandpa and her mom that I would take care of her and I intend to keep that promise," I growled.

"You made a promise to my grandfather and my aunt?" a voice replied.

"...no he's Kagome's grandfather and her mom," I growled in frustration.

"He's also mine along with my aunt ...we just haven't seen each other in a long time...I know you're worried for her but, she can take care of herself thanks to you," a voice replied.

"Feh, she always knew how to take care of herself before I even knew her..." I told him.

"Oh really?"

"Yes..she's always been strong and brave one of the sweetest people I know and it's bad enough that she lost—" I stopped mid-sentence trying to remain calm but, it wasn't working, I can't help myself but, worry for her; I thought my feelings for Kagome were friendship except I realize along the way that I fell in love with her it's the different type of love that I had with Kikyo as I shook my head as I shouldn't think about her not now not when I could lose Kagome I can't lose her not again and randomly changed the subject not wanting to think anything worst "So how do you know Kagome again?"

"She's my cousin, from my mother's side,"

"Are both yours and Kagome's mom related?"

"No my mother is Kagome's father little sister...they always been close but, after what happen to Kagome's father, they just stopped talking but, we always see each other in every other holiday. We were supposed to meet each other in Thanksgiving but, that was before we learned about ...aunt and grandfather..."

"...Ah..."

"Kagome and I we were always close but, the strained relationship between our mothers were...complicated from what my mother always explain,"

"How so?"

"Well...Kagome's and Souta lost their father...it strained their relationship because there was some complications,"

"Complicated how?" I began to say noticed Kurama blank look "I mean ...we don't have to talk about it if you don't want too...it's just it would help me to understand the situation since ...Kagome barley talks about her father,"

"I understand and...I wouldn't blame her...she barley remembers her father but, she had good memories before he was killed,"

"Killed?"

"Yes, he got killed from a truck driver he was drunk. He drank alcohol,"

"I have no idea what that is,"

"It's a drink that humans would drink and do stupid things,"

"...Feh,"

"...I couldn't agree more,"

"...Feh,"

"You don't talk much, do you?"

"...not really...most demons wouldn't even try to talk to me because of what I am,"

"Half demon?"

"...Feh,"

"I would take that as a yes,"

"How would you know?"

"I'm a fox demon so I can tell the difference and my cousin is one too,"

"It was her choice to turn into a dog demon,"

"Of course it was,"

"And my brother,"

"Brother?"

"Yes, he's Sesshomaru,"

"I'm sorry what?!"

"My brother is Sesshomaru,"

"As in Lord Sesshomaru of the West?"

"Yes..."

"...my cousin failed to tell me that,"

"She doesn't talk about a lot of things when it comes with our family,"

"Well...that I can agree on that,"

"Feh,"

"Well I don't know about you but, I'm going to keep watch. You should sleep,"

"I can't,"

"Why you need to rest,"

"I know I do...but, I can't sleep without knowing that Kagome is okay. I'll be able to sleep well when I know she's okay,"

"...you really care for her don't you?"

"She's my best friend of course I care about her,"

"No...I mean you really care about her, more than a best friend,"

"...Feh,"

"You can deny it all you want but, I seen the way you look at her...it's not that hard to figure out,"

"Feh whatever,"

"Just go to sleep I'll keep watch,"

Just when I was about to close my eyes for a short second I heard voices, voices that I recognize anywhere.

"Souta hold on to a minute..." a voice I immediately recognize causing my ears to perk up, hold on that sounds like-Kohaku but, it couldn't be. I thought we were alone in this jungle how did they end up here in the island "I have to keep going Kohaku ...I have to look for my sister she could be anywhere I can't lose her too...she's my only family left," he sadly says.

"What about your cousin?" Kohaku asked.

"Yeah, him too. I barley remember him but, nee-chan said that we used to be close as kids I was only a baby when I last saw him,"

"Oh...he's from your dad's side, right?"

"Yeah, I barley know about my dad. Nee-chan says that he was a good man...gone to soon,"

"What happen to him?"

"Nee-chan said that he died from a car crash, my mom and grandpa barley talk about it same with sis, I assume it's really sensitive for them to talk about,"

"...Ah..."

"Souta-kun, Kohaku-kun, wait for me," another voice which I recognize as the young girl that hangs around with Sesshomaru, my older half-brother-speaking of my brother ...I wonder if he's okay but, then again, he probably is.

"Hey Souta, Kohaku, Rin you guys can't just run off like that if either of your sisters were to find out that you came with us to the mission, they will kill me since you were under my watch," another voice replied which I raised my eyebrow not recognizing his voice.

"Is he one of yours?" I asked.

"Hmm..." Kuruma slowly nods at this "Yes that would be one of my friends Kuwabara, he's Yusuke's childhood best friend I assume he's with the little ones," he explained.

"Feh...yeah, I figured as much since I don't recognize him but, the little ones I recognize them anywhere they're with me...and if they're here that means Kagome and the others could be here too. They have to be," I exclaimed, almost relieved that we found everyone. Well half of them.

"I had a feeling you would say that shall we?" Kuruma asked.

"Feh," I replied as I raced over to the kids and it wasn't that long till we bumped into each other.

"INUYASHA!" Souta, Kohaku and Rin exclaimed happily leaving me to sigh in relief while Kuruma hugged his friend.

"Thank goodness we found you have you seen Nee-chan anywhere. I can't find her anywhere," Souta pleaded at me.

"Sorry kid. Kuruma and I couldn't find anyone anywhere except you guys..."

"Oh..." Souta sadly says.

"I'm sure we'll find them Souta she's probably with the others as far as I can tell," Kurama assured his cousin.

"I hope so..." Souta whispered.

"Inuyasha-sama where are we going to sleep?" Rin asked innocently.

"There's a cave that we found we can sleep there for the night and continue to look for the others in the morning," I told her.

"Well it was better than we found that's for sure," Kuwabara grumbles.

"What did you guys find?" Kuarama asked.

"We were hiding under these huge rocks hiding from the jaguar or whatever it was chasing us a few hours ago," Souta began to say leaving us to blankly stare at him "It's a black cat with yellow eyes…I'm not fond of them though they're a bit scary even nee-chan doesn't like them which she should since she's fond of cats …and dogs…she likes all animals except bugs she hates bugs," he explained.

"A black cat with yellow eyes huh?" I asked him.

"It's a endanger species from what sis said we don't usually have those unless we're in a jungle or in the zoo," Souta replied.

"What's a zoo," I asked scratching my head all confuse.

"It's where we see all sorts of animals maybe when we find sis, we can go all the zoo. It always helps sis to calm down. She loves animals,"

"A zoo huh?" I asked.

"Uh huh …sis told me that was the only memory she had with dad," Souta sadly says.

"Your dad?" I asked.

"Yeah ...I never met him but, sis said that he was a good guy. There's some people out there can be very selfish and entitled on things it's really rude," Souta explained.

"Your sister sounds like a wise woman Souta," Kuruma replied.

"She's the smartest person I know," Souta puffed proudly says causing Kurama to ruffle his head.

"Well maybe when we can get out of this ...place we can all go to the zoo I wouldn't mind coming along and I don't know about you guys but, we should head to the cave since it's starting to pour," Kuwabara offered leaving us to run to the cave which didn't take very long.

"Well let's go," Kurama offered leaving us to nod at this heading to the cave.

[[in the northeast-Sango, Miroku & Hiei were in the jungle trying to look for their friends unfortunately Miroku is trying to ease the tension between Hiei and Sango for that matter since its' causing a lot of tension between the trio]]

Miroku's P.O.V.

"Look we should go this side there's more cliffs, if possible, we can find our friends," Sango offered.

"Hm..." Hiei responds (a/n: which it translates 'whatever' in his short words towards humans)

"Is that all you can say," Sanga frustrated with our new companion.

"Hm," Hiei explained and I could've sworn I saw a smirk upon his face so I decided to ease up the tension between us.

"Sanga calm down," I tried to calm down my girlfriend-well soon to be girlfriend we haven't discuss our relationship yet but, it's getting there "Don't worry I'm sure Inuyasha and the others are fine and figure something out," I explained.

Sanga made a frustrated sigh, holding back her tears as she sat down on the tree trunk to rest "I'm sorry Miroku I'm just worried about Kags...after what happen to her family how can I not worry...my little brother is out there too...what if they get hurt," she whispered.

I soften at this as I gave her a hug "Don't worry babe I'm sure she's fine along with your brother...knowing Kagome she's probably with Inuyasha you know how overprotective he is with each of us," I explained.

"Hm..." Hiei replied.

I assume that his comment in agreement; I can tell he doesn't trust humans as much.

"You're not even helping your friends are out there too who could be hurt or even worst. Don't you care about them too," Sanga growled at the visitor who accompanied us.

Hiei gave a blank look "Hm" causing Sango to sigh in frustration.

"Come on Sango let's see if we can try to go around the cliffs since we don't have a rope and-" I began to say without any knowledge that Hiei just cut a couple of palm trees and transform it into a bridge with one swipe causing Sanga and I to blink our eyes owlish as he continued his way without any response "Swing to the other side...well ...that was ...easy," I murmured under my breath.

"Well what are you waiting for omma I'm not going to wait for you humans so get going," Hei harshly spats.

Sango and I looked at each other and rushed after him feeling a bit grateful; I had a feeling he's just like Inuyasha who seems to be fond of the trees where he likes to think in peace.

"At least he said something," Sango grumbled.

"Come on love time to go," I offered her hand which she gratefully accepted as we followed Hiei who was ahead of us that we almost lost track of him until he was on top of those palm trees; I had a feeling he's just like Inuyasha he seems very fond of the trees to sit to think.
