Special Episode 4 Chapter 14
Moving on.
The world seemed to stand still as Venus and Clairé stared down the yellow glowing beast. Thunder boomed throughout the dark sky of Ultra Megalopolis, and the dark clouds around the tall tower the standoff was on, cleared to reveal a starry sky with streaks of colour. Ultra space had been crackling into this world, and the trainer stood firm under it all.
Necrozma roared, before a beam shot out of its mouth towards the two Pokémon. Venus and Clairé dodged out of the way with a roll, starting the fight truly.
"Venus, see if you can get closer to it! And Clairé, use thunderbolt!" The trainer called.
The Mawile began to run towards Necrozma. Necrozma wouldn't have this, of course, and shot a large photon beam at Venus, who managed to just barely dodge it.
Clairé stayed back, and fired a thunderbolt directly at Necrozma. After the attack hit, the large creature turned its attention to the Jolteon, and seemed to take aim, before a smart strike came flying out of the glowing monster's claws, at Clairé.
Clairé was hit by the attack, and stumbled. Her side began to bleed a little bit, but she shook it off.
"Venus, use a trick room!" the trainer called. The Mawile obliged, and a large aura enveloped the arena, which sped Venus up considerably, while slowing down Necrozma and Clairé.
Necrozma noticed the aura, and tried to bat away Venus, but she dodged from the speed, and followed up with slamming her maw, which had infused itself with steel into Necrozma.
Ian took the chance to spray Clairé with a blue substance from a bottle. "Use shadow ball Clairé! Venus, keep up the heat!" he called.
Clairé shot a volley of shadow balls at Necrozma, most of which were dodged by the creature. One hit, and it roared out again, and fired a power gem at Clairé, which still managed to hit her.
It turned its attention to the Mawile by its left leg, and picked her up, throwing Venus at Clairé and Ian.
Ian gasped, and quickly grabbed Venus's Pokéball, and returned her before she fell off the tower. He quickly sent her back out in front of him. "I caught you… thank Arceus… Venus, use moonblast!"
Venus quickly obliged, and a blast of fairy infused light came out of the Mawile, which hit the slowed down Necrozma. It angrily roared again, with such a loud volume that the tower began to shake.
Clairé stumbled hard when the tower shook. Venus did as well, and they tried to steady themselves, before it eventually stopped.
Necrozma finally left its stationary position, and flew towards the 3 opposing it at an incredible speed.
Ian managed to get out of the way, quickly recalling and sending out the two Pokémon away from Necrozma. "You guys, use your super effective moves! Shadow ball and moonblast!" he called, while running to avoid Necrozma, who had turned to chasing down the trainer.
Clairé shot a volley of shadow balls, while Venus used moonblast again. Necrozma roared, and turned to face the duo, its blue and red eyes flashing in anger.
Ian stopped and quickly turned around when he realized he wasn't being chased anymore. "You guys! Be careful!"
Venus tried to use moonblast again on Necrozma, but the monster quickly grabbed Venus before she could.
Clairé shot a thunderbolt directly at its head to stun it, but it did almost nothing as the dragon threw Venus at Clairé. The two Pokémon were atop each other, stunned. Necrozma quickly started changing up a photon beam, before…
"Hey ugly! Come here!" He called, throwing a rock at Necrozma.
"It quickly turned around, and shot its charged photon beam at the trainer. He rolled to the side. "Come get me!" he called.
Necrozma roared again, causing the tower to shake again. It tried to charge a smart strike, before a shadow ball hit it in the back of the head.
Clairé and Venus had gotten up, and flanked Necrozma while it focused on Ian. Venus blasted Necrozma with another moonblast.
Necrozma roared once again, causing the tower to begin crumbling. Everyone on it stumbled, and Necrozma grabbed Clairé while she couldn't move. It roared again, and began to crush the struggling Jolteon in its claws.
Venus had stood up by this point, but before she could do anything…
A sickening crunch was heard across the battlefield.
Venus could only watch as Clairés lifeless, headless body fell to the ground. She was stunned, and began to cry. Clairé was her best friend, and now…
Necrozma roared, and the tower shook so violently it began to crumble, and tip.
Ian quickly realized that it was falling, and couldn't do anything but try and get back down the stairs leading up to the top before it all came crashing down.
Necrozma roared one last time, and the entire tower began to fall. Ian tripped, and fell down the front, while Venus and Necrozma up top didn't move.
A crowd of bystanders from the desolate city had been watching when the tower fell, and caught the falling trainer, who had gone unconscious.
The tower had fully fallen, and was nothing but rubble at this point, Necrozma above it all. It hovered down to the pile, and glared at the bystanders. They all quickly ran off, carrying the unconscious trainer.
Necrozma checked the fallen towers' rubble. The Pokémon fighting against it were dead.
As it thought this, however, something had attacked it from the back with tremendous force. It whipped around to see what had shot the moonblast at it.
A mega Mawile stood there, glaring at the ultra beast, without a hint of fear. It stood defiantly against the monster. It had killed her friend, and was going to pay.
Necrozma tried to shoot a power gem at it, but before it could, the mega Mawile vanished. Necrozma found itself being much slower all of a sudden, before the back of its head felt something.
Venus, in her mega form had jumped up to its head, and began to smash it with her dual maws. Necrozma roared in agony, and tried to grab the Mawile off, but before it did, Venus jumped off, and ran up to its leg.
Necrozma tried to grab the Mawile, but Venus slammed metal infused maws into its legs, one into each, toppling the beast before it could do anything. She was extremely fast now that the trick room and her mega form were activated.
Venus ran to the front of Necrozma, where its head laid on the rubble. It snarled at the Mawile, but was unable to do anything.
Venus stared at it for a moment. In the Pokémon language she spoke. "You… I Hate you." She proceeded to grab the monster's head in her right maw, and bit down.
Nothing on earth can pry open a mega Mawiles maws. The force was so extreme that necrozma screeched in pain, before a light enveloped its body. Venus let go, and watched the scene.
Eventually, the light faded, and Lunala hovered above a defeated, smaller, black Necrozma. It looked down at the mega Mawile, and smiled. "Thank you Venus, for saving me. Please, go back, and find your trainer."
Venus quickly realized she had left her trainer, and didn't know what had happened to him. Still mega evolved, she ran to where she had entered Ultra Megalopolis from, and right in front of the ultra space portal, Ian's unconscious body laid.
Venus quickly picked up her trainer's body, and hopped into the ultra space portal. She was still crying from Clairé however.
From the distance, Lunala watched on, before leaving through its own portal. "Despite the hardships that Mawile has faced… I believe it is not yet done. This is quite possibly just the beginning…" it mused aloud, before leaving Ultra Megalopolis.
A Mawile entered the hospital room, only to see her sleeping trainer on the bed. She gulped, and clambered up to the top of the bed.
She had carried him from ultra Megalopolis to the Poni Island altar, and from there, lily had helped her carry him to the hospital. Her mega had faded by that point as well.
As the trainer slept, Venus couldn't help but think about Necrozma again. That monster had almost killed her, her trainer, and had succeeded in killing her best friend. She felt like, although she had killed it, she hadn't won. It hadn't killed her… but it had killed her.
"Hey… you okay?"
"...wi…"
"...I miss her too, Venus. If… if i had known what would have happened…" Ian gave a light hug to Venus. "We'll have to move on, though."
Venus thought for a few moments, before hopping off the bed. She went over to a small desk in the corner of the room, and wrote something on a piece of paper, before handing it to her trainer.
'I don't want to battle anymore.'
"...I… okay. Claire was your friend if… if it hurt you like that… I won't go against your wishes. You've seen so much, so I won't push you." the trainer said.
Venus looked at him, and nodded, before leaving the room.
2 years later
Venus awoke in a cold sweat. She had been sleeping at her trainer's old house, when something jolted her awake. She looked around to see what it was.
Nothing.
She was confused. It felt like she had been asleep for a long time, but it was the middle of the night. Something also felt missing in her memory, but whatever it was, she couldn't place it.
She got up, and looked over to Ian's bed, where he had fallen asleep.
Empty.
'What the…' Venus was confused. Why was he gone in the middle of the night?
She checked the dark bedroom a bit, before leaving. The house was quiet. His mom was asleep as well. Venus decided that she wouldn't wake her up, and she left the house.
Outside was more of the same. A quiet night time in Alola. Venus could head down to the city nearby, or to Kukui's lab.
'Let's go check on Kukui.' she thought, walking down route 2 to the lab. The tall grass was empty. Even the wild Pokémon were not out at this time. Eventually, Venus reached the lab though.
She pushed open the door to find Kukui asleep at his computer. The lights were still on, and his Lycanroc, a midday form, was asleep on a bed in the corner.
Venus walked up to the sleeping professor and poked him. "AAAAHH OF COURSE you can put… ice punch… on… oh." he looked around. "I fell asleep… didn't I." Kukui noticed Venus standing on the desk.
"Oh, Venus. What brings you in at this time?" He quickly gave her a pen and paper.
She began to write. "Ian is missing. I don't know where he went."
"Well that's a problem. Have any ideas? Wait, I could call him with the Rotom Dex. Hold on…" kukui pulled out a Pokédex, and after pressing a few buttons, a call noise rang out of it. It rang 5 times, before going to voicemail.
"...that's not good. Unless he left Alola, he would have picked up. Wait…" Kukui pulled up a program on his pc.
"I can check the gps signal of his dex from here." he said, before a scanning process was started on the screen. Eventually, after about a minute, something appeared on the screen.
No signal found for owner "Ian"s pokédex. Please try again.
"Well what coulda happened? He wouldnta have just left in the middle of the night. Venus, tell you what, tomorrow morning, we'll head out and ask the league if they've seen him. We can also file a report. Kay?"
"Maw."
"You can just watch tv or something. Couch is yours. I'm going to bed then." Kukui yawned, and headed to his bedroom in the back.
Venus sighed, and headed over to the couch, instead opting to go to sleep. It took a while, but she eventually fell asleep.
As she and Kukui got on the boat, she contemplated everything.
Venus was worried beyond belief. It was mostly normal for Pokémon to worry about their trainers, but the thing was; she hadn't battled for Ian in over 2 years. He had gone on to finish the island challenge with the rest of his team. Of course, she would still join him a lot of the time, but not as a fighter. She never really could after Clairé had been killed.
But now Ian was gone. She wanted to find him. Desperately. He was the only one left who really cared about her that much. Venus knew it was going to be her goal to find him.
As Ula'ula island came into view, Venus gulped. Mt Lanakila had the Pokémon league, and although she had never been there, she knew its importance. She had already fought in 2 leagues, and a third one was just as powerful.
The mountain it was on was powerful feeling as well. It was very tall, having many steep slopes. To climb it, you had to go through victory road, which was a large cave that winded up the mountain.
Eventually, the ship docked. It was mid morning now, and Venus and kukui got off the boat.
"Alright. You see the mountain? You probably already know this, but the league is up there. Your gonna have to climb it. I'll come with you." Kukui said
"Maw" she confirmed, before they both started off towards the base of the mountain.
As the 2 walked through the cave, they were silent. Venus knew Ian probably wasn't at the league, but was hopeful they at least knew of his location.
An exit to the tunnel they were in showed itself. Kukui said something when he saw it.
"That's odd… there wasn't an exit here last time… be careful."
Venus followed the professor as he walked out into the sunlight. It was a crater. Something was smoldering in the middle of it.
"What the… why is a crater in victory road?" kukui said, observing the middle. The smoldering meteor began to become more visible as the dust settled.
Venus stepped up, and got a bit closer to it. Eventually, she was able to see what it was.
A jagged, shiny object. It was Necrozma. Necrozma without having been fused with the others of the light trio. It was dark and cold as well. Venus gasped, and became visibly angry.
Necrozma slowly stood up, and got its bearings, before noticing the Mawile glaring at it.
"You… what have you done to me?" it spoke calmly, with a hint of anger. Like at any moment it could come unhinged and attack.
Venus spoke in her own language. Kukui would only be able to understand Necrozma, as it was a legendary. "Why did you fall out of the sky?" she was restraining herself from attacking straight up.
"Where am I?" it looked around, seeing the inside of the crater, and a sunny sky. "...this world. I am in this world. And you…" it turned to face Venus. "What brings you here then? It is unusual for you to be so far up. And that is not the human that was originally with you." it gestured to Kukui.
"That "human" Ian, my trainer, is missing. Did you do something to him?" Venus asked.
"No. but I do know where he is." it said.
Venus gasped. "Where?"
An ultra space wormhole was created next to Venus. "If you enter this portal into ultra space, it will take you to him."
"How do I know that he'll be there?" Venus was skeptical. This was the monster that had nearly killed her.
"Because I am nothing if not an honest ultra beast. Now. will you take up my offer or not?" it said.
"Wait, Venus! Does that thing know where Ian is?" kukui asked.
Necrozma faced kukui again. "I do. And I am sending her and her alone to find him. You will stay, meagre human."
Kukui was annoyed by the remark, but didn't act on it. "Fine then. Venus, you be safe, alright? I'll be expecting to see you back here soon."
"Maw." Venus entered the portal. After she entered, the portal flashed, and changed colours, before Necrozma followed. It vanished shortly after, leaving Kukui alone in a crater on victory road.
"Man, I sure hope that Mawile knows what she's doing… well, that not the worry here. Whether or not she succeeds is the real question…" Kukui left the crater after he was done musing.
Welp. its almost all set in stone now. One more special episode before everything comes careening into place.
Sorry these chapters took so long. I've been low on motivation, and otherwise distracted. Hopefully 15 takes less time.
Anyways, review and stuff, and I'll see you guys in a bit.
