Well this should be fun. :)
Special episode 5; Mystery and Misery
Above the grass continent, an ultra space portal opened. A Mawile flew out of the portal, and landed on the grass.
"Ugh… that hurt…" she stood up, and looked around.
A bright blue sky greeted her, as well as lots of natural plant life. She appeared to be on a dirt path of sorts. As she stood up, she heard a voice.
"Are you alright?" it said. "That was quite a fall!"
Venus turned around. It was a Breloom. Beside him was a Machoke. "Yeah, I'm fine." she said. "Who are you?"
"We're Team Frontier! The greatest silver rank team out of all of them." the Machoke said.
Venus looked at them. "Well who's your trainer then?"
The Breloom looked confused. "Trainer? I mean, we trained with Marowak sometimes… but we're our own unit."
"You mean you don't have a human trainer? Why?" Venus asked. She was immensely confused.
"...Because humans are myths. I thought everyone knew that. Do you want to join Team Frontier?" the Machoke said.
"...Sure? I guess? It won't be permanent though. I'm looking for someone." Venus said, nodding.
"Wow, that was easy! Team Frontier, Mawile, Breloom, and Machoke!" Breloom said happily, striking a pose. The three eventually walked off down the path, to wherever Team Frontier had planned.
'Guess it's a learning experience… I think Necrozma scammed me though. No humans? How could Ian even be here?'
Her mind raced with questions as she fiddled with her necklace.
Three Months Later.
Breloom walked up to the table carrying a few drinks. "Cheers you guys. I heard Spinda is gonna announce an expedition for the café members to go on with all the item donations!" he said happily.
"Sounds good. But where to?" Venus asked. "Most of the continent's been explored."
"I heard they found a civilization at the bottom of sky peak, full of Shaymin!" Machoke said. "I can't wait to see what's there!"
"Ah."
A bell rang out from the bar. "Everyone listen up!" Spinda called.
All of the patrons at the café quickly ducked into chairs. A young Riolu and Eevee sat down next to Team Frontier.
"The location for the expedition is… Sky Peak!"
The room exploded into applause. Everyone was clapping. Food was thrown around. Venus caught a rogue apple with her maw and ate it.
"Settle down everyone! You have fifteen minutes to prepare, before we are all heading out, alright?"
Everyone settled down, and sat down again. Venus turned her attention to the newcomers at Team Frontiers table.
"What are you kids doing coming along on a mission like this?" She said, "You might wanna be careful."
"We know." they flashed their exploration team badges. They were ultra rank. "YOU guys might wanna be careful there." Riolu winked.
Venus scoffed. "Oh, so are you guys like what, the famous team that stopped the planet's paralysis or something?" she asked.
"Yep. names Jonah. My partner here is named Sarah. I'm a human, too."
Venus just about spit out her drink. "A what?"
"He said he's a human.. Weren't you listening?" Sarah said.
"Yeah… just… you wouldn't happen to know another human, would you? Named Ian?" Venus asked.
"Uh… no. As far as I know I'm the only human. And even then, well, I had amnesia and don't know my human life." Jonah said. "Whatever. Are you guys going on the expedition too?" Jonah asked.
"Yep! We're team frontier!" Breloom said, striking a pose again. "Pleased to meet you!"
"Of course!" Sarah said.
A voice called out from the counter. "Everyone, prepare to leave!" Spinda called, hoping down, and leaving the café.
"Guess it's time to go. Good luck you guys." Venus said, standing up.
"Yep!" Team Frontier left the café.
As they exited the dungeon, Venus sighed. "That was rough… "How many stations are we up to?"
A voice from behind them spoke up. "Why, you've reached the seventh station, home of the Dashing Wanderer, Ampharos!" he said.
Venus turned around. "Oh, hello. Do you run the seventh station?"
"Yep! Just a few minutes ago, Team Poképals passed through, and helped deliver this poor Sneasel here to heal up. If you want to continue up, though, I can accompany your team."
"What do you guys think?" Venus asked.
"I'm cool with it." Machoke confirmed. "Brelly?"
"Sure! The more the merrier!" he said. "Let's go, we don't want to lose to Team Poképals!"
The 4 of them set up the mountain into the next of ten dungeons, a new confidence in the dashing wanderers abilities being merged with their own.
As the 4 of them reached the peak, they found Jonah, Sarah, and the Shaymin guide surrounded! There were a bunch of Muk and Grimer surrounding them.
"Great timing guys!" Shaymin called. "They've mucked up the peak, and we're surrounded!"
Team Frontier wasted no time, and fired attacks at the nearest Muk to them. Due to the combined force, it splattered into nothing. Venus quickly turned and moonblasted a Grimer.
It retaliated by throwing a poison ball at her, before…
SPLAT
"It hit Ampharos instead. He had jumped in front to save her. "Quick, get up!"
"Wait, are you ok though?" she said.
"I'm fine, let's keep fighting them off!" Ampharos said, using a fire punch on a Grimer that tried to tackle him.
Venus quickly whipped around and bashed a Muk with her maw, killing it.
The others were fighting them off as well. Breloom shot a weak aura sphere at a Grimer, Jonah force palmed a Muk in the face, Sarah fired a volley of shadow balls at a trio of Grimer, everyone was pitching in, and all the poison types were soon defeated, minus one Muk.
Shaymin looked at the Muk. "What are you all doing here?!" she yelled. "Why did you guys ruin the peak?"
"We just wanted to look too… and then the poison came…" it said.
Shaymin growled. The little grass type shrew could be threatening as all hell, without much effort. "Leave. Now."
The last Muk gurgled, and quickly slithered away down the mountain, never to be seen again.
"Good. it's gone. Everyone, stand back." Shaymin said, before something began to happen. All the slime and dirt in the area began to coalesce, and sucked itself all into Shaymin. Eventually, though, it all shattered away, and Shaymin was left standing there on a pristine and clean peak.
"Whoa, what was that?" Jonah exclaimed. "Did you just… suck up all the pollution? Gross…"
"Yes, Jonah, I did. It's not hard for Shaymin like myself." she said. "And the peak is clean now."
Team Frontier excitedly ran up to the front, and looked out with Team Poképals, Ampharos, and Shaymin.
The sight was beautiful. The tops of the clouds was visible, with the holds in the cloud cover showing the endless land of the grass continent. Many prominent places like apple woods, and the northern desert were visible in the distance. Up above, the blue sky faded to black, with a very minute amount of stars visible. As everyone looked up, a shooting star crossed their views.
Everyone, Shaymin included, stood in awe at the sight. It was breathtaking, and not just because they were so far up. Eventually, though, two Pokémon stepped out. Ampharos, and Venus.
"Hey, thanks for helping me earlier." Venus said.
"No problem. What kind of Pokémon would I be if I just left you there?" He said.
"I mean, I am a steel type, sooo…"
"Oh bollocks. That's irrelevant. One more thing, however. I was wondering, would you be willing to travel with me? Lapras has recently opened up travel to other continents, and I was wondering if you would be willing to travel with me there." Ampharos announced.
"I mean, I'm still with these guys, but I've never had the closest bond with them." Venus said. "Sure. Maybe I'll find who I'm looking for."
"And who would that be?" Ampharos asked.
"An old friend I guess. It's been three months and I've never found them, so maybe another continent will have them." she said.
"Sounds good!" Ampharos announced. "We'll head out in a week then?"
Venus shook his paw. "Sounds good."
Five Years Later.
As Venus sat at her desk in the newly formed Happi Federation, she contemplated everything that had happened as she finished reading eh message from Team Paradise
Apparently, the Mist Continent was under extreme stress. They were being attacked by a rogue legendary, a gang of misfits, and a world ending evil. And Happi's HQ on the Water Continent was practically on fire with all the things happening.
They were in the middle of a renovation, and news of another human combined with another world ending event had put the entire place on high alert. Ampharos burst into her office.
"Mawile, we're mounting an emergency expedition to Post Town. Get ready, pronto!" he said
"Got it." Venus said, grabbing her pre-packed bag, and running out with Ampharos. "What's the plan?"
"We're going to post town, as well as bringing supplies. And, since I know you'll ask, yes you can talk with the new human." He said, running out of the HQ
"Kay. sounds good." Venus said, as they reached the dock. A Lapras was there.
"Oh hey, you two had the reserved double tickets?" the Lapras said.
"Yep. Mist Continent." Venus confirmed, as she and Ampharos hopped on. The Lapras quickly sailed away.
Venus and Ampharos entered the town square of Post Town, and looked around. It was empty, although one of the doors opened quickly. A Swanna ushered them in. "Come, quickly! We're discussing plans!" she said. Venus and Ampharos quickly entered the building.
Inside was a homely little inn, which was a mess. There was nearly the entire town's worth of Pokémon inside.
"You are the Happi reps? Back here!" Swanna said, nearly pushing Ampharos and Venus to the back of the inn. A large table with a Snivy, Pikachu, Emolga, Dunsparce, Quagsire, Virizion, Espeon, and Umbreon were situated.
"You're the Happi reps, correct?" the Legendary said. "Come, sit. We have much to discuss."
Venus spoke first. "Yes, we are. I'm assuming it involves the Bittercold?"
"Yeah, it does!" Emolga said. "We're out of stuff, and need supplies before we can send Brandon and Sparks up to the Glacier Palace! Did you guys bring anything?"
"Yes we did!" Ampharos announced, unveiling 2 treasure bags. "Our most valuable gear is here. The human and his partner will need it, I assume?"
"Yeah, we will. Thanks mister." Brandon said, taking the bags from Ampharos, and giving one to the Pikachu. "Neo and Nova have been working on the entracards to get to the palace as well."
"Actually, we have a plan. We managed to figure out an entracard pattern that will allow everyone here, minus Ampharos and Mawile, to go." Nova said.
"Ah, that's good." Ampharos said.
"Hey, Snivy, can we speak privately?" Venus said. "It will only take a moment."
"Uh… sure." he stood up, and he and the Mawile went out of earshot of the rest of the group. "What'd ya need?"
"Is your name Ian by chance?" Venus asked. "I have been looking for a human for years named Ian."
"Uh… no. I never knew anybody named Ian in my world either. Name's Brandon."
Venus seemed defeated. "Oh… okay. Thanks for helping me though." she said, walking back to the table.
"...yep."
Nova announced something to the table. "Me and Espy have it planned out. Meet us outside on the hill in a few moments." he said, before the Eon duo left.
"I, uh, think we should follow." Dunsparce said
"I… hmm… agree with Dunsparce" said Quagsire. The two of them left.
As the rest of the table left, Venus sighed.
"Was that not him?" Ampharos said.
"No… another dead end. Plus we gave them supplies they needed. Seems they have it all figured out. Let's go." Venus said, leaving the inn before Ampharos could respond.
5 years later
As the group walked through the sunken ruins, Venus felt something off. Something wasn't right.
"Hey guys, here's a question." she mused aloud. "Why would the tree of life be at the bottom of the ocean?"
Everyone stopped dead in their tracks. Dedenne spoke up. "Uh… I don't know… should I call Team Super and Archen to warn them? I think… this might be a trap."
"Yeah… do tha-'' Venus was cut off when she got hit square in the back by a shadowy ball. The Beheeyem that had been with the group had suddenly fired the blobs at everyone.
"Oh nooo!" screamed Dedenne as she became turned to stone.
Bunnellby tried to fight them off, but he and Buizel were quickly petrified. Once the entire group had been turned to stone, the Beheeyem sent a psychic message to Nuzleaf. "The group in the ruins has been petrified. Once the spring is open, petrify the human, and Mew."
They received acknowledgement of the message, and went on down to meet Nuzleaf later.
Voidlands.
As Venus awoke, she shook her head. 'Ugh… where am I?' she stood up, and looked around.
She was in a cave, alone. Despite the darkness, there was an inexplicable source of light coming from all around, illuminating the area. There was a plaque on the wall of the cave with Unown inscriptions on it. They read out;
Voidlands. To ye who reads this, know that the only reason you have to have ended up in this hellscape, is death at the hands of a legendary, or petrification by the power of Dark Matter. To those in the situation from Dark Matter, here is its existence.
It was created by the negative emotions of Pokemon around the world, which manifest when the stars align, allowing it to take physical form. It pulls the planet towards the sun, turns those who fight against it to stone, and will destroy the planet, should the Tree of Life die.
Venus gulped. This was big. She heard a noise shortly after though. "Who's there?"
"It's me, Dedenne!" the voice said. Dedenne quickly ran out from deep in the cave up to Venus. "Thank Arceus I found you… I've been running for hours. There's these weird shadow blobs that keep trying to kill me!"
"Dedenne, I think this is the afterlife. Not a good one… calm down. We can figure a way out, okay?" Venus said, trying to comfort Dedenne.
"Alright. Should we get moving?"
"Yes, we should." Venus started off down the cave.
7 years later.
'Here we are. It's been 18 years or something since Necrozma sent me to this world, and I still haven't found him. 18 years, 5 humans, and 3 world ending accidents later, and nothing.
Should I just give up? My trainer's either dead, or forgotten about me. Or both. I never found any sort of satisfaction in life, and fear, or dread, or fighting, or anything, none of it has ever meant anything. I just feel… empty.'
Venus closed the journal, when she heard a voice behind her.
"Um, excuse me? Ms Mawile?"
Yeah… this chapter… feels off. I don't know what it is, but it feels rushed to me. Maybe the fact i wrote it all in one day is the reason. Still though, we finally have a convergence of our special and main episodes. This was still fun to write.
As always, review and stuff. I read all of them, and respond to some of the non anon ones. Means a lot guys.
Next chapters might be a while tho.
