Chapter 3: Knight of Silver
The man looked at the knight for a second. "What Archer?"
They all froze for second. "You are an Archer, right?"
"No, Assassin actually... Oh, 'cause of the bow? Sorry to confuse you miss?" Assassin said while scratching his beard.
"This is awkward, isn't it..." Taiga stood up. "But I think you two were going to fight? Or is that over?"
The knight raised her lance. "I guess we should. So come at me, Assassin."
"Sure!" Assassin responded while taking an aiming stance.
Shirou looked closely while trying to not notice the pain of his arm. I need get rid of this... my head feels so heavy...
Assassin moved first, firing two bolts while moving back close to the ground. The knight rushed forward, blocking with the skirt of her lance. As the man took a position, the lance released a beam of light.
Assassin fired a bolt and dodged the beam. This time the lady dodged the attack, but her armor was scratched. Assassin jumped up and fired four shots, one was blocked, one was tanked by the armor and two were dodged.
The lance let out another beam while swung, but it was dodged. Assassin threw a knife at her, before firing a magically charged shot. The lance was used to shield the attack, but the knight was pushed back slighty.
"You won't get anything done if you don't try to hit me with something big, oh king..." Assassin slighty growled as he spoke.
"You have an issue with my status?"
"Sorry, this me doesn't really like kings or other lords, nothing personal."
"Of course, no need to apologise..."
"Good, felt bad talking like that to a lady-" He then fired a shot while talking. It was dodged.
"Well... This is the second one...!"
Shirou felt a chill as the bolt in the crossbow charged up, turning a malicious red.
Suddenly the man fired, the shot appearing to dissappear, and the bolt appeared in the knights chest, piercing through the armor and past the spear she brought up to defend herself. But at the moment of "impact", the knight tilted to the side, and a massive burst of energy blasted apart the side of the shed and courtyard.
But as she used her lance to keep her balance, a stream of blood poured out her blood, allthough it wasn't much, it was enough for her to bend her knee for support.
Assassin lifted his crossbow for another time, but he suddenly stopped. "All right... I'm sorry- You want- Calm do- Okay I'll come now." Assassin looked as if he had a headache.
"W-What is it...?" The knight said exhausted. "I am far from finished... Ugh..."
The man sighed. "Sorry, little m- Master said I went too far and have to head back... Let's continue another time."
Shirou sighed in relief. Thought that I wouldn't get any rest today...
"Oh, young man!" Assassin looked at Shirou.
Shirou looked up quickly towards him. " 'Member introduce yourself to the lady, it's bad manners otherwise!" And so he dissapeared.
And so they all went inside, Taiga bandaged Shirou, Shirou brought out some fruit and the knight sat down awkwardly at the table next to Shirou while still in full armor.
"So... The damage can't be seen outside..."
"Dad propably did that..."
"I'm pretty sure if someone was going to come kill him-"
"I meant the fact the damage can't be seen from the outside..." Taiga looked at him in confusion.
"Well he did use highly explosive weapons, it makes sense to learn magecraft to hide it." Taiga and Shirou looked at her with confusion.
"Can someone please explain what's going on..." Taiga laid down on the table, exhausted.
"I can help with that." They all turned to look in at hallway. "Tohsaka Rin, happy to teach." Rin walked into the light with a charged energy shot.
"And Saber servant, ready to kill Ms. Taiga Fujimura if either of you try to do anything." Saber said as he appeared with a greatsword right above Taiga's neck. "I'd really prefer not killing her..."
Knight and Shirou did not move, instead giving a slight nod to each other. "Fine." Shirou pulled out the umbrella he has been using.
"Good. First, I'm guessing your servant is Lancer." Rin walked to the table and sat down properly.
"I don't know..." Shirou looked at Rin in confusion. "What's a servant even, and why did Assassin attack us?"
Rin stopped. "You don't know anything? But you still have a servant?"
"If I may, I am a Lancer class servant. But I cannot tell you my true name." Lancer responded.
"Well at least one of you knows something..." Rin looked at the panicking Taiga. "Let's make a deal, we don't attack you and you don't attack me? An alliance for the time."
"Sounds good. Um... L-Lancer?"
She looked at Shirou. "If we must."
"Good..." Rin signalled Saber, who put away his weapon, relieving Taiga. "First order of business, let's all introduce ourselves."
"Taiga Fujimura, your teacher."
"Oh I am so sorry. That slipped my mind..." Rin bowed. "We just needed a non-threat for a hostage."
"I'm not sure about that last part..."
"Well anyway, I'm Tohsaka Rin; Heir to the Tohsaka family. And that grump there is my servant, Saber."
"Hello." He waved while sitting down.
"Hello, I am Lancer." Lancer said.
"And I'm Shirou Emiya."
"By the way Lancer, you shouldn't be wearing a helmet indoors." Rin stated while pointing at her head.
"My apologies..." Lancer picked off her helmet, revealing a beautiful face, with golden hair tied in a knot behind her head and bangs framing her face. Saber glanced, blushing a little. "Do you find me distracting Saber?" Lancer smiled at Saber.
He flinched. "N-No... carry on..."
"I understand..." Lancer turned to look at Rin. "So should we move onto our current situation?"
"Yeah, so I was thinking that we should go to the church to pull Shirou up to speed. The guy thete will also have something to say to Shirou as last I checked, he should be last Master."
"Please, no more excitement, tomorow's school, we have to prepare... You two especially." Taiga stood up to leave. "So now let's sleep."
"Good idea, let's meet up after you three come from school", Saber said while standing up. "Oh, Fujimura."
"Yes Saber?"
"Rin's house was burned down, so we need a place to stay."
"Just stay here, we have a spare room for guests..."
"Thank you~" Rin got up. "So where's that spare room?"
"Down the hall, 2nd room." Shirou and Saber looked at each-other.
"How did you-?"
"S-Saw while sneaking around." Saber went outside. "I'll keep guard..."
"I think I'll do the same." Lancer said while standing up.
"All right, I'll go to sleep too." Shirou went to his room as Saber and Lancer went outside.
Saber looked at Lancer, who was walking forward, with a blush.
Why did it have to be her... Saber...
