A/N:

I'm back

Chapter 18:

Katara was not surprised to see Azula present. She knew Zuko would eventually try to reach out to others to advocate for him. That was just the way he was. However; he didn't plan on his sister bashing him for being a slimy weasel to which she agreed. Azula made it quite clear she thought Zuko had lost his mind and didn't like what took place between him and Kya. However; she thought up something far greater that would turn the two against one another. Katara wasn't so sure but Azula insisted it may work.

"My brother is using Kya for your stand in. The sooner she discovers this, the sooner we will never have to worry about them continuing this lovers escapade of theirs." Azula suggested.

Thinking it over, Katara smirked at Azula and then looked to her husband who just entered their chambers.

"Ozai, what do you think?"

Waltzing up to the bed, "I think Azula has a point."

Azula bit back the small smile that wanted to creep to her lips.

"We all know Zuko is using Kya as a stand in. We only need Kya to realize this." Ozai stated.

Katara sighed. She really preferred her way of dealing with things but if her husband and stepdaughter felt there was an even better way of dealing with Zuko and Kya, she was game. They were the most cunning people she knew. Surely, they had to be onto something here.

"Very well, I'll speak with Zuko first."

Ozai told her he'd have Zuko come here. She was bedridden from their discovery of her carrying triplets. He didn't want her moving around so much. It wasn't good for her health to strain herself and travel to the Fire Nation.

Being summoned to Omashu by his father, Zuko felt somewhat optimistic about his chances of being with Kya. He felt he was finally going to be allowed to have Kya as he had wanted for the few months the two of them had been together. However, as he was brought to his father's chambers and escorted to see Katara, Zuko's optimism diminished.

Sitting up in bed with her hands over her swollen belly, Katara eyed Zuko with great disdain. "Have a seat."

"I'm good." He said as he took a firm stance in front of her bed.

"Very well. Let's talk." Katara spoke up. "I want you to know that I will never approve of you being with my daughter. You were practically her father figure in the early days of her life. You helped raise her and helped her become the woman she is. How could you take my daughter as a lover?! How?! She's your sister!"

Zuko didn't say a word and simply stared at Katara with nothing to say. He knew he was wrong for involving himself with Kya the way he had but what could be done now? Kya was pregnant with his child and Katara wedged them apart. He didn't care if Kya was his sister. She had his child.

Katara stared venomously at Zuko, "I had your father summon you because I'm going to lift the spell from Kya so you can be with her."

Furrowing his brows, "Why?"

"Because this is my grandchild we're talking about, Zuko. You can't think I would screw them over because of a petty squabble."

Zuko side-eyed her.

"Asshole." She hissed as she pulled the covers off of herself and threw her legs over the side of the bed to climb out.

Zuko saw she was pregnant and immediately rushed to help her, taking her hand to help her out of her bed. She glanced up at him and gazed at him with a softer expression.

"Zuko, please take care of my daughter. That's all I truly want." Katara said.

Nodding his head, "Of course, Katara. Kya is your daughter after all. I will protect her with my life."

A small smile came to her face, "Good. Now, open a portal to the Totami Estate."

Zuko did as she asked and escorted her through the portal. As soon as they were gone, Ozai stepped out from behind the curtains with Azula and pulled out his coin purse to hand her a few coins.

Collecting her winnings, "I told you I know Zuzu best. He'll make himself obvious to Kya soon enough."

Ozai scoffed, "Your brother is an idiot."

"Wanna talk about how stupid he is?"

Snorting, "We'll need to discuss it over drinks."

Azula smiled to herself as her father showed her the way.

………………………….

Katara stood aside as she watched Zuko embrace her daughter lovingly. They would have made for a nice pair were they not related on their father's side. She tried not to feel anger at the sight of the two caring nothing for their bloodline but it was hard to. They were having a child together. Her grandchild, she needed to work on forgiveness. Something that used to come more easily in her youth but years of torment made it harder.

As she turned to leave, Kya stopped her to thank her but Katara held her hand up and shook her head. "Just be sure to have a healthy child, Kya. That's all that matters."

Kya nodded and stood by as Zuko hugged her mother from behind.

"Thank you, Katara." Zuko kissed the side of her face from behind.

Pulling away as she wiped her face and turned to narrow her eyes at him, "Fail my daughter and I will kill you, Zuko. Am I clear?"

"Crystal."

Returning back home, Katara found Ozai and Azula drinking in the sitting room. She sat beside her husband and took the glass he was trying to sip out of and drank it down. Ozai and Azula eyed her funny.

"What? One drink isn't going to hurt." Katara said as she reached for the bottle and started refilling her glass.

Ozai snatched it from her, "You're high risk, Katara. I'm not going to let you drink. This is our last pregnancy."

"I know but I'm just so stressed. I don't know what to do." Katara literally felt she was going to cry.

Ozai told his eldest daughter to give them the room and welcomed her to stay for as long as she liked. Azula smiled and nodded as she left. When alone, Ozai placed his hand on his wife's back and rubbed it.

"I need you to concern yourself with our family right here. Zuko is many things but he'd be an excellent pick for Kya were they not siblings."

Katara agreed. "There will be talk of the two of them."

Ozai shrugged, "by the same people that call me a demon and you a witch, you think I care what those people have to say? My point is, we can do nothing but wait for life to take its course and wait for them to both wake up. In the meantime, we have three new additions on their way along with our other children that require our undivided attention. So, let's get you to bed and I'll have the servants bring you something sweet."

Katara was picked up and carried to bed where her husband tucked her in. He kissed her head and she tried to relax for the sake of her babies she was carrying. But it felt impossible and she knew Ozai could tell this, so he held her hand and reminisced with her about their troubled days. It soon turned into an argument about which of them was the worse villain but Ozai knew it would result in them arguing as he wanted it this way. That way she had something else to think about. She went to bed upset with him but he got the results he wanted.

Kissing her head as he ran his hand over her head, Ozai went to ensure all the kids were settled in for the night. Mailan and Ryu were cozying up together on the couch talking about boys while Zhiar was entertaining female guests. Azula was readying herself for bed and Hiroshi was already asleep. All was well, Ozai was content.

As he was about to join his wife in bed, something caught Ozai's attention and he stopped. He turned to his left and started making his way to the direction of the sound he heard. Making his way out in the courtyard, Ozai spotted two patrolling sirens seeming to have heard the same sound as him and were trying to figure out what it was.

"You two, you hear it too?"

The sirens nodded their heads.

Ozai narrowed his eyes and started looking around as he did. Something felt chilling and he didn't know what it was. But when neither he nor the sirens found anything, Ozai returned to Katara's side and found her peacefully sleeping in her bed. He undressed and slipped in bed behind her, resting his hand over her belly before dozing off.

In the morning, Ozai woke up still feeling tired and felt a little out of sorts as he got up out of bed. He held his head as he waltzed into the bathroom to see his wife bathing. She greeted him as she was brushing her teeth and he gave her a simple wave before walking straight into the shower door, shattering it and falling to the ground.

Waking up sometime later, Ozai saw Katara standing over him along with his children all standing at the foot of the bed. He didn't know what happened and from the look on his wife's face, she must have seen something unfold before he passed out.

"Ozai, are you alright?" Katara asked.

Ozai nodded.

A small smile pulled to her lips as she told the kids they could ease their worries, asking Mailan to stay behind to help look over her father's vitals. As their daughter checked his vitals, confirming he was alright, Mailan was dismissed, leaving her parents to talk.

"What happened, Ozai?"

Rubbing his head, "I feel strange."

"How so?"

"I feel weak. So very weak." Ozai groaned as he shut his eyes to exhale.

Katara sighed and took his hand in hers, "I'll oversee matters today. You rest."

Ozai gripped her hand, "No, you should be resting."

"Ozai, I-"

"I can't lose any more children, Katara. I'm tired of it. Lay down and rest. I will be fine."

Reluctantly, Katara nodded her head and climbed into bed while her husband started getting up.

Ozai spent the day working in his office, being checked on by Mailan and Azula. His daughters made sure he was alright. Ryu and Zhiar offered him help on any of his work and Ozai took Zhiar up on it as he had prior experience.

As for Katara, she laid in bed bored out of her mind as it was not good for her to be on her feet. She was carrying multiples again. This time it wasn't twins. It was triplets and she wanted so badly for them to make it in the world. However, she hated sitting around doing nothing. Especially when her family felt a little out of order. And by family being out of order, she meant Ozai's eldest son fucking her eldest daughter.

She couldn't believe she was allowing it. It wasn't like her to let something so foul take place. Why were they just letting the two of them off the hook? Sure, they felt in time the two would see the error of their ways but Katara felt that was letting them off easy. She wanted Zuko to pay tremendously for what he had done and she wanted Kya to know was absolutely wrong in allowing it to take place.

Climbing out of bed, Katara walked into her bathroom and opened a mirror to Ursa. She found the woman drinking on her balcony. The Phoenix Queen requested an audience with the woman and she obliged.

Traveling to the Fire Nation once more, Katara met with Ursa at her villa outside the palace and saw she was especially annoyed.

"Am I not welcomed?" Katara asked.

Ursa scoffed, "Your daughter is fucking my son. I don't know how exactly I should not be annoyed."

Katara took a seat with her large belly, "I feel the same about your son with my daughter. Their father is the same man. It is disgusting what has taken place but I need your help ending this sibling affair."

Ursa tilted her head, "Ozai isn't dealing with this?"

Katara snorted, "He all but told them to go fuck each other. He thinks they will turn on one another in due time but I want this over now."

Ursa sighed, "leave it to the women to get things done around here."

"Who are you telling?" Katara scoffed as she held her belly. "I wish that Totomi man was still here. Uhara."

"Your daughter's Phoenix ex?"

"Her late fiancé."

"How'd he die again?" Ursa asked in curiosity.

Katara explained and Ursa looked at her like she had a plan.

"What?" The Phoenix Queen asked.

Ursa smirked, "I know a way to bring him back."

"What?! You do?!" Katara's eyes widened.

Nodding her head, "But you might not like it."

"Anything to stop our children from being together. Now, tell me."

………………….

Atsou had to say he was surprised. Very surprised. He never expected Katara to come make a deal with the devil. She wasn't that kind of woman but then again, he was well aware of her family problem and knew she was desperate for a solution. He sat at his table after bringing her to his manor upon her calling out for him. He took her right away and brought her here. Now they were sitting at the table ready to discuss what to do about her situation.

Atsou rested his face on his fist and smiled at her, "You're beautiful, mean one. Beautiful as ever."

"Let's cut to the chase," Katara said. "You know how to bring people back to life, don't you?"

Atsou nodded.

"Can you resurrect someone for me?" Katara asked him.

Smirking, "I can. But who?"

"Uhara Totomi."

"That's a big request, Katara."

"How so?"

"He's a Phoenix. An advantage to your family when I finally make my move against you all."

Katara raised a brow, "You're planning something against us?"

Atsou sighed, "Yes. You ran away twice, mean one. There are consequences for that. I will have to punish you in due time."

Katara swallowed hard at this, "Maybe I was foolish to come here." She stood up.

"No, sit. I'll grant you your request but it doesn't come free or cheap."

Katara looked up at him, "What do you want?"

"Ami. Give her back to me and I'll resurrect Uhara Totomi."

Katara sucked her teeth, "Ami, really?"

"Trust me, mean one. I have only use for her mind. Nothing more."

Back in the Phoenix Empire, Ozai was on his way back to his chambers when he saw his wife out of bed and she was running around their chambers with a bowl of water to the nursery of their chambers. He furrowed his brows as he heard a man's voice and made his way to the nursery. There, he saw a man on the lounge chair, stretched out, as his wife healed his body with glowing water.

"Katara, what's going on here?" Ozai asked as he was curious to know who the man was and what she was doing.

Looking up to her husband, "Ozai, great! You're here. I need your help. He needs your blood."

Furrowing his brows as he walked into the room, "Who needs it?"

"Uhara. I brought him back from the realm of the dead."

Ozai's eyes widened.

Coughing into a rag, Uhara lifted his head and looked over the sofa to Ozai. "Father."

Uhara sat awkwardly on the sofa as he watched the now married couple argue back and forth about the methods used in restoring his life. Apparently, Lady Katara or was it Phoenix Queen Katara? Anyways, she made a deal with their enemy to bring him back by trading Ami, the princess, in for his life. He thought it was a decent deal until he discovered Ozai had a relationship with the woman not too long ago and it was a chaotic one that ended with him finally marrying Lady Katara again. But the biggest issue wasn't the trade off, it was Katara going to the Phoenix King's twin brother for help. It was an act of betrayal in the eyes of her husband.

"Ozai, he's the only one that can restore the dead! I need Uhara! He's the key to fixing everything!" Katara explained.

Ozai growled viciously at her, "YOU SHOULD HAVE TALKED TO ME FIRST! NOT MY EX-WIFE!!"

"Ozai, I-"

"I am your husband! Stop plotting shit behind my back! Whatever it is, we work together! Got it!"

Katara sulked as Ozai shouted at her and told her to get out of his sight before he snapped, telling her to lay down and focus on the babies as he was going to deal with this situation.

Uhara swallowed hard as Ozai turned his hard gaze on him.

"Are you really, truly, Uhara?"

"I would hope so. I feel like me." Uhara said. "Can I see Kya now? Your wife said I could see her as soon as I recovered and I feel great."

Ozai narrowed his eyes, "How do I know it's you?"

"I called you father like you always force me to do. I figured that was proof enough."

"Very well. I believe you." Ozai sighed as he took a seat, "But I must warn you about Kya. Something awful has taken place and I need you to be as calm and collected about it as possible, understood?"

Uhara nodded.

…………………

"Is this really for me, Zuko?" Kya asked.

Zuko nodded as he showed Kya to the suite he wanted her and Jotaro in. He felt it would be a good idea to move Kya into the palace now that they were allowed to be together. She would have the baby in a few months and he wanted her to be comfortable while she was pregnant with his second child. His mother and uncle were completely against it but he felt it was only right.

"I made sure to have the nursery decorated just for our daughter and Jotaro will be having tutors from all over to tutor him."

Kya was about to say something when a black flame shot out at Zuko and sent him flying backwards. Kya grabbed Jotaro and pulled him away with her as suddenly several more blasts of fire aimed for Zuko.

Getting up and dodging the next wave, Zuko manifested his hand into a dragon claw and readied to attack. "You said you'd leave us alone!" He growled.

The flames cleared and both Kya and Zuko were shocked to see it wasn't their father.

"I used to think highly of you but you're a dirty bastard to sleep with your sister, my fiancé!"

Zuko saw Kya's face, seeing a teary eyed look of disbelief, causing him to turn a hardened look on Uhara.

"How are you here?"

"Phoenix Queen Katara made a deal with the devil your father says."

"That lying bitch!" Zuko realized that Katara played him yet again. "After I'm done with you, I'm going to rip that bitches head off!"

Uhara glared at Zuko, "I will make this quick."

Kya watched in horror as her brother and formerly dead fiancé fought. She couldn't believe it. Her mother had Uhara brought back to the realm of the living. How? Uhara mentioned she made a deal with the devil. Was that Atsou?

As the two men fought, Kya sent her son to run as she planned to break it up. She blooded Zuko to the ground as he leapt at Uhara and sent Uhara up against the wall, holding him there. The two men struggled against her hold as she looked at them both.

"Stop this! Please!"

Uhara looked at Kya and could see she was pregnant. He had hoped the Phoenix King had lied to him but it seemed it was true. Kya was involved with her own brother. How could this be? His sweet Kya had been defiled. His vengeful gaze turned on Zuko.

"Your father says you're using her as a stand in for his mother! You sick twisted fuck!"

Zuko growled, "You should be dead!"

"Stop it, you two! This isn't the way to hash things out!"

Uhara raged, "and sleeping with your brother is?! Kya, what happened to you? Why have you done this?!"

Kya looked at her former fiance somberly, "Uhara, I-"

"She's mine now! So back off!" Zuko hissed.

"Kya." Uhara watched in disbelief as Zuko was released from her blood bending and was allowed to approach her. He watched in horror as Zuko kissed her on the lips and smirked at him.

"Uhara, I'm sorry." She shut her teary eyes. "Please, leave."

Uhara gaped and was released. He couldn't believe this. Kya was choosing her brother over him. This couldn't be.

Back in the Phoenix Empire, Katara was fixing Uhara a cup of tea as Ozai poured his liquor into the cup for the man. They had watched everything unfold and were equally as taken aback by it. Looked like nothing would work.

"Zuko wants your head." Uhara told the Phoenix Queen

Katara sat with a cold look on her face, "Zuko made a move against me by taking my daughter as a lover. It's his head that should be on the chopping block."

Ozai sighed, "No offense, Uhara, but Katara, you really didn't think this through by resurrecting him. Kya doesn't even want him."

Katara tilted her head with a sly smile, "Seeing him today was a step in the right direction. My daughter will be thinking of you and Zuko will know this."

Uhara sighed, "I can't believe Zuko did this." He held his head in his hands. "Kya is his sister."

As Ozai tried cheering Uhara up by taking him out for drinks, Katara sighed and was about to make her way back to bed to rest. All this commotion got her riled up and she didn't need it. Reaching her bedroom, Katara saw her balcony doors were open and went to close them. However; she saw Zuko on her balcony waiting for her. She narrowed her eyes.

"You think Kya is your stand in?" Zuko asked as he stood leaning on the terrace.

Katara strolled up to him, "That is your sister's assumption. I personally think you mean to spite you."

"Jealous?"

Scoffing, "I'd have welcomed any women you brought to us with open arms but you took my daughter, Zuko. Do you not understand what I feel knowing you are sleeping with my daughter?"

Zuko scowled at her, "You said you would not screw over your grandchild, Katara. I believed you!"

Katara rolled her eyes, "Your mother told me that Atsou would do it. It was her suggestion."

Zuko balled his fists, "So you plotted with my mother?!"

"Yes, you and your father seem very annoyed by that fact but she and I are good friends. Anyway, I can't tolerate you with my daughter. Uhara will be here as a reminder of what she truly desires and she will leave you." Katara stated. "My daughter is too good for you."

Zuko raised his hand to her, shape-shifting it into a claw, "You bitch, Katara!"

Staring impassively at him, "You wouldn't dare."

"Maybe I would." Zuko growled and swung his hand at her.

Katara yelped as she held her belly and pulled away from him as he tried swiping at her again, tearing at her gown. Zuko growled and was about to lunge at her until he was kicked in the chest, being knocked into the wall.

Ozai looked to his wife and saw her bleeding over her middle and stared wide eyed at her, "Katara, are you okay?"

Katara nodded as she winced, "I'm fine. Just keep him away from me!"

Zuko got up and glared at his father, "Get out of the way! This is between me and her!"

Ozai cracked his knuckles, "You fuck my daughter and try to harm my pregnant wife, you've truly lost your mind, Zuko!"

The two lunged at each other and before Ozai could snatch up Zuko, the Fire Lord grabbed the Phoenix Queen and took to the skies immediately. Katara screamed as Zuko sped in the air with her and Ozai was about to go after them until he saw Zuko let go of her. His wife screamed as she fell out of the sky and Ozai raced towards her, managing to catch her before she hit the ground.

In his arms, the woman shook violently and Ozai's eyes widened as she started foaming from the mouth. He quickly laid her in the grass and yelled for the physicians to hurry. Ozai held her hand as she looked fearfully at the sky, still jerking into a seizure as foam continued forming out her mouth.

"Katara, it's fine. He's leaving. Just try to stay calm." Ozai told her as the physicians finally showed up in the gardens that had fallen into.

As they arrived, Ozai shouted for the siren to go to the Fire Nation and make a declaration of war. Zuko had directly attacked the Phoenix Queen and there were witnesses. He'd make that son of a bitch pay.

……………………………

Kya looked at Zuko with wide eyes as he returned. She saw what he did to her mother. It was unacceptable but she was afraid to confront him about it. He looked pissed off and besides, for him to go off on her mother like that, it was definitely a new development that she would rather sit out. Zuko had always loved her mother and did all he could to protect her, so for him to turn on her, she clearly got to him.

Jotaro was playing with his wooden sword when she entered his room to make sure he was alright. He seemed fine and didn't have much to say about the incident. Her son didn't even realize the other man was his father. Kya sighed as she placed her hand on her belly. Uhara was back. He was alive and well.

A tear formed in her eyes as she started making her way to her bedroom. There, she made her way to the bathroom and ran the water to open a mirror to see into the Phoenix Empire. She spotted her mother resting in bed asleep as her father remained by her side. She then checked on Uhara and found him drinking in the rooms he used to occupy in the palace. She could see he was truly upset and she wanted to explain herself better to him but she didn't know where to start. How did she explain that she was with her brother? How did she even justify it to him?

Sighing, Kya opened a portal and made her way through it. She saw Uhara look up at her almost immediately and stood from his seat.

"Kya."

"Uhara." She said tearfully as she rushed to him to hug him.

Uhara held her tight and buried his face into her hair, "Kya, you have no idea how glad I am to see you right now."

Kya sniffled as she cried, "That's my line."

Pulling apart, Uhara caressed her face and wiped her tears away. "Kya, please tell me what's going on here. I just want to understand how this happened. You and Zuko. That doesn't even make sense."

Kya cried as she looked up at him, "Uhara, I was so lonely without you. You have no idea. Zuko and I, we didn't mean for it to happen but it did and now we're expecting a girl soon. I'm sorry, Uhara. I never thought you'd come back from the grave."

Cupping her face, "Kya, I forgive you. I understand. This isn't your fault. I'm sorry I left you here alone. I should have fought harder to stay alive but I promise, I'm not going anywhere."

Kya hugged him tight.

Ozai had come looking for Uhara after making sure his wife and the triplets were alright. He wanted to make sure the man was alright as his daughter had all but told him to be gone. However, as he made his way to the lounge where he left the man to go help Katara, he found his daughter there, embracing Uhara. He stepped backwards out of the lounge and peaked around the corner to see Uhara kiss his daughter. Ozai wanted to laugh maniacally as his wife was an absolute genius. She might have gone behind his back plotting with his ex-wife and consulted with their enemies but she solved their problem.

Returning to the Fire Nation, Kya brought Uhara with her to see their son and upon entering the palace, they were stopped by Zuko. He eyed them both and gave them looks to explain what was going on.

"Jotato deserves to know who his father is." Kya told Zuko.

Zuko eyed Uhara, "The man attacked me in my own home and you think I want him to roam freely?"

Kya shook her head, "Of course not, Zuko. I will accompany him. You can too. Just so Jotaro can properly meet him."

Zuko narrowed his eyes at Jotaro. "Let's meet in the courtyard. I'll bring Jotaro."

Kya nodded and led Uhara to the courtyard, sitting him down on the stone benches. As they sat across from each other, Kya filled him in on everything he was curious to know. Like for instance,

"Your parents are married again?" Uhara asked.

Kya chuckled, "Yes, it actually happened in a way that is completely unorthodox. My father thought he was marrying Ami, and my mom crashed the wedding, taking Ami's place as the bride."

Uhara knew Lady Katara was a bit bold for a woman but he didn't think she'd be so unhinged.

"My father was so angry that he married her anyway and told her they'd just have to deal with it cause there was no going back." Kya chuckled. "My parents are insane."

Uhara believed her.

Zuko was holding Jotaro's hand and was about to enter the courtyard when he saw Kya and Uhara laughing amongst themselves. He tried not to be immediately jealous but Katara's words burrowed in his ears. He scowled and walked over to the two. They both stopped talking and stood up to greet Jotaro.

Kya smiled at Zuko despite his scowling and introduced her son to his father. Jotaro's eyes lit up at Uhara and he rushed into his arms. Zuko pulled Kya aside as her son and Uhara connected.

Pressing his lips to her ear, "You don't plan to leave me, do you?"

Kya feels him squeeze her hand tightly, "I don't, Zuko." She said steadily.

Zuko smirked and reached down to kiss her and kiss her hard.

Uhara glanced over at them and hissed between his teeth as he guided his son along with him, announcing he wanted to stop by his estate with his son. Kya was about to join him when Zuko cut her off and told him he would accompany him.

"Why would I need you to come?"

"I'll better explain your reappearance. Your family will be very confused but let's set the story straight that you were merely in a comatose state for over five years. Don't need to explain the details."

Uhara nodded.

Lady Sho was elated to see Uhara. She squeezed him tight as his family surrounded him in love as they couldn't believe that he was actually alive. Fire Lord Zuko explained everything to them and they seemed to accept this.

As the family wanted to spend more time with their return lord, Zuko left Jotaro with him and returned to Kya. He found her reading in her lounge chair to their baby as she rubbed her stomach. He smiled and went to sit beside her. As he did, she glanced over at him and shut her book.

"How was it?"

"Everyone was happy to see him. Especially Lady Sho."

Kya beamed, "Good. I'm glad he's alive and well now. Jotaro had begun asking questions about his father and I felt guilty for not being able to answer all of them."

Zuko placed his hand on her shoulder and rubbed it, "I'm just happy his return doesn't mean the end of us."

"Of course." Kya said as she glanced away.

……………………..

Katara laid in bed with a fever as Ozai tended to her with the help of the servants. She had gotten very sick from being scratched by Zuko's claws as if she were a Phoenix. She confessed to Ozai that when Atsou kidnapped her with Ami's help, some of his blood was put into her and it could be why her body was reacting the way that it did.

Ozai furrowed his brows at this and examined her, slicing her hand with his nail to see it heal immediately. It confirmed their suspicions and Ozai feared it would affect their children's survival. He made sure to look after her himself to make sure nothing befell her when he was away. All his work was brought to him in his bedroom as he watched over his sickly wife.

"Kya, did she really kiss him?" Katara asked as she was too weak to open her eyes.

Wiping the sweat from her forehead, "Yes, she clearly misses him. Your plan may be the solution we have been searching for."

Smiling with her eyes shut, "I told you."

"Yes, you did. You're a brilliant woman, waterbender." Ozai praised her with a kiss on the head.

A/N:

Uhara is back! And he has not come to play. Plot with Atsou coming up.
