The incessant sound of her alarm going off was what awoke Dominika that morning. The sound caused her to groan in aggravation before she slapped it until she managed to hit the right button. Once she did, she sighed and shoved her hands into her long red hair.

"Dammit, I hate alarms." The woman murmured before she grunted and forced herself up. She haphazardly grabbed for her bottle of lotion before she stood up and made her way to her closet.

Dominika looked blankly at her clothes before she rubbed at her arm and resisted the urge to scratch it. The area burned a bit, so the redhead sighed and grabbed a few things that looked comfortable.

After that, she trudged into the bathroom and sat the clothes down and lotion down. She yawned and made sure she had a towel before she turned the water on and started to take her clothes off. "Perfect way to start a morning...feeling like a piece of shit." She mumbled as she slipped her silk pants off and worked a few braces off.

Once she was free of her multiple braces, cooling padded leggings, and her clothes, she inspected the water while she absentmindedly smacked her lips. She testingly dipped her toe in before she shrugged and climbed in the tub without much thought.

The water was a welcome feeling and everything that burned immediately cooled. The redhead sighed and laid her head back on the comfortable bath pillow that was there. "God...this feels good," Dominika said with a hint of a smile before she tapped a button on the wall that clearly indicated an automatic cleaning function.

And automatic cleaning it did.

Dominika closed her eyes as she felt the robotic arms scrub every last inch of her and let out a pleased sigh. "Whoever invented this...I could kiss them." She said with a hint of humor in her voice as she lifted her leg up so the arms could clean it before she laid it back down and did the same with the other one.

After around ten minutes, Dominika opened her eyes and began to wash her hair. It was almost therapeutic in an odd way. No one was there to bother her...and her task was getting all the dirt and grime out of her hair. Nothing else...

At least for the moment.

When her alarm sounded once more, telling her that she needed to get up and leave to be on time, she let out a groan before she quickly squeezed the water out of her hair before pressing a button. As she climbed out of the bath, the tub quickly drained on its own.

"They really should have advertised that this is like school," Dominika complained as she quickly dried herself off and hastily put on her clothes.

Once she was dressed, she stopped to examine herself in the mirror. She had on a long-sleeved black silk blouse with all of its buttons buttoned, dark purple cooling leggings with a sash ribbon on the back, black socks, and a light purple chiffon kimono.

"Eh...The hair." She nodded to herself before she quickly put her hair into a bun while leaving a few strands that framed her face. "There we go."

Dominika rushed out of the bathroom and slipped on her black sneakers before grabbing her bag. She checked if her phone was in there along with her earbuds. Once she saw that both were in and fully charged up, she quickly put the dark purple sling bag on before she ran out the door.

The redhead looked down at her watch to check the time before she frowned. "Man, how long was I washing my hair? Hopefully, they have some granola bars or something in the lab." She said as she continued jogging to the lab.

As she turned the corner, she barely spotted Quaritch and didn't take note of him...until she glanced over her shoulder and spotted the man staring at her ass, which no doubt looked like the greatest thing ever since she was wearing leggings.

Dominika wore a disgusted expression and shot him a glare before flipping him the bird.

At the sight of her hand gesture, Quaritch merely smirked and chuckled before he walked off as if he owned the whole facility.

The redhead scowled at that before she shook her head and continued to the lab.

Once she reached the lab, she jogged in before stopping behind Jake. "Hey, how late am I?" She asked him while she took off her purse and kimono and handed it to a nearby assistant.

Jake looked back at her before shrugging. "Well, Grace hasn't tried to melt me with a glare...and Norm hasn't started fanboying...So, I'd say you are right on time." He said in a joking manner while Norm deadpanned at him.

"Good…" Dominika looked around before she saw Max approaching. "Max, tell me you got a protein bar in here." She said with a hopeful expression while she innocently smiled at him.

Max chuckled and shook his head. "Running late?"

"You know it. I think I spent extra time washing my hair." Dominika said while she relaxed and smiled sincerely at him.

"I can tell...It's still got some water on it." Max said before he smiled and handed her an already warmed-up breakfast burrito. "Here, you can have this. I'll make another one for myself." He nodded with a wider smile.

"This was yours?" At his nod, she blinked at him. "...Am I stealing this from you?"

Max laughed at that and grinned with a shake of his head. "No, no you aren't. You guys need food before you link up...and I have some more around here. Eat up." He gave her a thumbs-up before he headed back to his station.

Dominika smiled at that and quickly worked on it as Grace made her way over. "Good morning. I hope you all had a good night's sleep...because we are linking up today." She said and took a moment to raise an eyebrow and Dominika.

Norm smiled brightly and looked at Grace. "We are? Are we staying around the facility?" He asked while Jake silently snickered at Dominika who was almost done with the burrito.

Grace looked back at him before nodding. "Yeah. We'll fly out once everyone is situated with their bodies." She said before waving a researcher over. "Jane will link you up over there." She told Norm before looking back at Dominika.

Dominika blinked as she caught Grace staring at her before she quickly finished her food and smiled sheepishly. "...Sorry, I spent too much time in the bath." She lamely gestured to her hair and arms before her smile dropped.

Grace slowly nodded, though there was a hint of amusement in her gaze, and gestured for the redhead to walk with her. "At least you ate, I've dealt with worse." She said in a neutral tone, though Dominika was sure that Grace wasn't upset with her.

Once she reached the link bed, she slipped her shoes off and sat them neatly in an area where no one would trip on them. "We are exploring the area today?" She asked Grace with a head tilt before smiling in humor as Grace gestured for her to lay down.

"Yep. We have to get you guys used to your legs, enhanced senses, the outdoors, etc." Grace listed off as she looked over the device that was set up next to the bed.

"Got it." Dominika nodded as she laid down and got comfortable in the gel-like bed.

"Alright...How many hours have you logged?" Grace asked and glanced over at her before placing the cage-like layer over Dominika.

"Um...I believe it was a little over eight hundred. It was my favorite thing to do on the weekends." Dominika said with another nod before smiling at her.

"It never gets old," Grace commented with a small smile before she typed in a few things and then stepped back. "Head down...And clear your mind." She said before she closed the lid.

Dominika closed her eyes and let out a soft sigh before she felt a sudden rush while colors filled her vision. There was also a soft hum of sorts that accompanied the colors...before both suddenly stopped. Almost as if someone had hit the pause button.

Now, the sounds that greeted her sounded much more clear...and crisp, oddly enough. At the sound of someone snapping their fingers, Dominika licked at her dry lips before she cautiously opened her eyes.

The two med techs smiled at that and the female waved at her while the male quickly checked her eyes. "Are you feeling alright, Dominika?" The female asked while the male pocketed the flashlight pen and looked over a checklist.

"Yeah...Whoa…" Dominika slowly lifted a hand and closed one of her eyes...before smiling. "I forgot that I'd have both of my eyes." She said with a brilliant smile.

"You do and they are working perfectly." The male said with a kind tone.

Dominika nodded before she slowly sat up and looked over her longer scar and burn-free legs. "And there's no burning!" She happily clapped her hands before she promptly stopped and gawked over her large hands. She curiously wiggled her fingers before she looked down at her toes and did the same. "This is...so cool."

After that, she felt something smack her before she grabbed it and saw that it was her long tail. "Oh, monkey tail." She held onto it and looked at the stripes and brighter shade of blue before her ears twitched.

At the sound of two other techs sounding quite worried, Dominika looked over before her eyes widened as she saw Jake stand up. "Jake, I think you should sit down. This body is very different from yours-watch your tail!" She exclaimed at the end before wincing as it knocked into a few things and narrowly missed a med tech.

Norm let out a sigh and shook his head. "Jake, they're gonna put you out."

Jake merely grinned as he looked down at his body. "This is great." He said mainly to himself as he pulled a few things off that were keeping him attached to the monitors...before he promptly sprinted out the door.

Dominika stared after him before she carefully stood up with her tail still in her hand. She took a moment to adjust before she nodded. "I'll go get him." She said and removed everything from herself before she promptly headed out after Jake.

As soon as she left the building, she let go of her tail and shielded her eyes as she looked for Jake. She gazed at her surroundings in amazement and dodged another avatar with a blink. "Sorry!" She looked forward once again while the other driver shook their head.

Dominika's ears twitched at the foreign sounds that reverberated around her and she looked at the grass in almost awe. She was sure that her eyes were much better in her avatar body...but everything looked so vibrant and clear. There wasn't a single blur in her vision or a spot to be seen. It was as if she had perfect vision...and that wasn't something she ever had, even before her accident.

And the air...it was so clean. She didn't cough or sniff once as the air was the cleanest she had ever breathed in despite the mining operations nearby.

Dominika moved her hand and squinted with a small smile as a bird-like creature flew overhead before resting on the facility with its unique call. Once she looked ahead she quickly had to hop over a fence before she continued into a garden. The feeling of the soil felt nice on her feet...like it was natural. She didn't see that Jake was ahead of her until she promptly smacked into him and fell over.

Jake turned around in confusion before he laughed once he saw it was Dominika. "Not watching where you are going, monkey-tail?" He asked as he offered her his hand.

"I was enjoying my surroundings," Dominika said and rolled her eyes before chuckling and allowing him to help her up.

"It's amazing, isn't it?" Jake looked around with a smile before looking back at her.

"My vision is amazing...It's...beautiful out here." Dominika nodded as she gazed at the area around them. She then looked back at him. "But it was stupid what you did, Jarhead. They probably had some tests to run!" She said while whacking him on the arm.

"If what I did was stupid...then you following me out was also stupid, Red." Jake chuckled and shrugged off the whack before poking her on the forehead.

"I came to get you-that isn't stupid." Dominika deadpanned at him before her ears twitched and she saw someone approaching them.

Jake looked around as well before blinking. "Hold on...Grace?" His eyes widened at her, seemingly surprised for a multitude of reasons.

Grace snorted at his comment before she looked at Dominika and smiled. "Well who'd you expect, numbnuts? Think fast." She said to both of them before she tossed two fruits at the same time.

Dominika caught hers with ease and looked over the fruit in interest before she took a bite. Letting out a soft sigh at the taste, she eagerly went in for another bite while the juice ran down her chin. "This is really good." She said with a large smile that prompted a chuckle from Grace.

"Motor control is looking good." Grace looked the two over before she spied Norm in the distance. "Liking your muscles, Norm?" She asked him with humor evident in her tone.

Norm paused in his flexing and posing to smile sheepishly. "Yeah…" He said in an awkward manner before he walked over to join them.

Grace nodded once they were all there before she gestured at their surroundings. "This is the compound where we keep the avatars and where you three will be when in the avatars unless we are out in the field." She explained and gestured for them to follow her as she began heading back to the longhouse.

Dominika finished up her fruit and smiled at that. "What areas would we be going to?"

"Right now the main focus is the forest, but we may visit a few rivers," Grace answered with a nod and opened the gate on the fence before continuing. "We won't be talking with any of the natives for now." She said before she looked at the longhouse. "Go in there and they'll give you some clothes, I have to check up on everyone else." She told them before waving and walking off to another area.

Dominika nodded at that before she headed up to the longhouse. She looked around at the tropical-style hut-like building before she entered to look for some clothes.

It was nearing dusk when Dominika sat down on her cot. She had gotten clothes for her avatar and was currently looking over them in a thoughtful manner. She patted her surprisingly large breasts a few times before she hummed in thought.

Jake looked over at her before he snorted. "You trying to attract a guy?" He asked while he kept his eyes on her face.

Dominika shook her head and shot him a smile. "No, it isn't that. I was just thinking that my boobs are a bit large for an avatar or a na'vi. They typically have leaner bodies that are better for hunting. Large breasts are only seen in mothers and then they...deflate after a certain point." She said with a chuckle at the end as she rubbed her legs.

Jake chuckled as well at that. "Well, if the natives are anything like humans on the chest size debate...we might need to guard you so one doesn't take you away." He said in a teasing manner as he turned his attention to the long pink tendrils coming from his braid.

"I sincerely doubt that one would swoop me off my feet and haul me away. The na'vi would not be so kind to outsiders." Dominika said while shaking her head. She looked over at Jake before smiling. "That's called a queue. A lot of creatures on Pandora have them." She informed him while she moved her braid so that it was in front of her.

"Kind of freaky," Jake commented while he squinted at his queue.

"Yeah...but they are useful," Dominika said with a small shrug before she spotted Grace. "Oh, Grace? I wanted to ask you something." She stood up and smiled at her.

Grace offered her a small smile as a few researchers walked around and talked to the various drivers. "What is it?"

Dominika looked over herself before looking up. "Are crop tube tops and shorts normal for the females?" She asked the older woman while glancing around a bit. "I...only see myself in this."

Grace stared at her before her eyes halved and she sighed. "Was it a guy who gave you your clothes?" She asked her while laying a hand on her hip.

"Uh...yeah. Why?" Dominika blinked at that as she adjusted her black top and checked her tight black shorts.

"Dammit, I told him to stop doing that." Grace shook her head and pinched the bridge of her nose. "The guy has a thing for the...look of the na'vi. As you know, the na'vi are not exactly built like you...in the chest area especially. So, you can see why the guy gave you that clothing." She gestured to Dominika's clothes with a deadpan.

"...Because he gets hard at the sight of blue alien monkey-cat aliens with big breasts?" The corners of Dominika's lips raised up while she folded her arms.

"Exactly. I will have a talk with him." Grace said and looked away at a man and made a few gestures before she turned back to Dominika. "Did you want a new outfit?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Eh...No. I'm good with this for now." Dominika said with a smile.

"Okay. Lights out in a few minutes then it's dinner." Grace said and nodded before she began repeating the message loudly to everyone else.

Dominika chuckled before she whacked Jake with her tail. "Lights out man, we're gonna get grub." She said and smirked when he smacked her tail away.

"I better get a head start before you eat everything," Jake said with a chuckle of his own before he quickly closed his eyes.

Dominika laughed at that before she laid down and closed her eyes.

Once Dominika opened her eyes again, she let out a disappointed sigh at the loss of an eye. "...I hate this damn eye." She said as a researcher opened the lid and let her out.

As she stretched, she spotted Jake and shook her head. "Remember how I said the lack of itching is what I was looking forward to?" She asked him as she marched over.

"Yeah, you seemed pretty interested in that," Jake said with a smirk as he began to move his wheelchair wheels and headed to the doors.

Dominika followed him and deadpanned as she rubbed at her arms. "I was...I just forgot about my eye. My blind eye." She said with a blank expression.

Jake looked up at her...before he started laughing. "How can you forget about a blind eye?" He asked her with a grin.

"It becomes easily forgettable after a while!" Dominika said with a huff while she shook her head.

"Maybe with memory loss," Jake replied with a snicker and looked ahead.

"Oh shut up, jarhead." Dominika punched him in the arm before smiling to herself.
