Stalkers and Swimming Pools

"You should've seen pretty boy, JJ. He looked like a drowned rat."

JJ closed her eyes and tried desperately to forget Morgan's gleeful words. Unfortunately, she could only see Reid and that – actress – talking to each other while she had to assist Morgan in keeping fans and paparazzi from stampeding the – couple.

Couple!

Damn it!

It had been rough enough to see him that night with his hair hanging straight around his face instead of combed back, his shirt half-untucked, and a glimpse of his bare chest peeking through the gap in his shirt.

The worst was the hungry look in his hazel eyes, a desire she'd seen directed at her but never at another woman.

Why do you care?

She turned in her seat on the jet, kept her eyes closed, and pretended to sleep. Her brain posed an excellent question. Why did she care who Reid looked at, talked to, kissed, or – she opened her eyes and looked at the blue sky rushing past the jet as they returned to DC.

I don't care! Spence can do what he wants with his ancient but innocent eyes and genius brain.

She closed her eyes and chased sleep. Tomorrow everything would be back to normal, and – she clenched her teeth together so hard her jaw ached and wished she'd given Lila Archer a piece of her mind.
