Chapter 23: I didn't plan for this.
At Yukinoshita's apartment-
Yukinoshita POV:
I woke up early in the morning, earlier than I have planned.
I looked around my room and saw that it's messy, different kinds of clothes are laying everywhere.
Sitting in my bed while my lower half is still covered by a limited edition Pan-san blanket, I grabbed one of my Pan-san plushie and put it in my lap.
"It's not in my plans to let this to get this messy." And I also never planned to buy some new clothes.
"I never even planned to meet someone in the weekends! I'm supposed to be watching Pan-san movies this days not preparing for a date!" I Yukinoshita Yukino, 2nd daughter of the Yukinoshita family got my life planned ahead for me, and never in that plan would include meeting and making an effort for a boy!
But why am I making an effort though?
Badump!
Here it is again, my heart is racing... It's probably because of nervousness because I'm walking into an unknown territory that is called Hikigaya Hachiman.
Sigh, than man, he would never fit with the countermeasures I had in my plans, he is just too unorthodox.
The plans my parents and I made for my life is foolproof, not Hikigaya Hachiman proof.
"Yes, my plans started to crumble ever since that incident." I also never planned for a flashback but here we are, curse you Hikigaya-kun!
Now where am I? Yes, the flashback.
Its early in the morning at the first day of school, I am the one who's going to give the speech in the beginning of the school year ceremony.
Everything is planned that day. My hair, my clothes, the time I would left home, contents of my bag, my speech, everything!
But then on the road, something I never thought would happen, a thing that was never a part of my plan happened.
A foolish boy got hit by our car for saving a stranger's dog.
This caused me to be late and adjust everything in my plan that day, but thats not important that time.
I felt guilty even though I have no reason to. It's my plan to be there on that time.
I asked the boy's name and how he is doing.
Hikigaya Hachiman and he is in coma.
My parents said that boy's life is not in danger and we will pay for the hospital bills.
Ever since then, whenever I wake up, I would always ask: That Hikigaya boy will wake up today to like me right?
2 week has passed and a good news arrived, he is awake now, and I thought that finally everything is back to normal and I can now continue with my life without the thought: I stepped on someone to follow my plans.
But I am wrong, one of my plans in high school is the Service Club, but it is rejected!
Hiratsuka-sensei said that she would back a different club now!
I can still remember the frustration I've got, I even thew a tantrum in the rooftops!
Then I saw him... No, he saw me.
While throwing a tantrum at the rooftops, he saw me.
The boy who got involved with me because of an incident, the boy who took down all my plans one by one like a domino.
I punched him in our first encounter, and I never planned on hurting someone physically in my high school days.
After that encounter, everything changed.
My life became... Chaotic but... Fun.
The plans, my plans, my mother's plans, all of that rendered useless.
"What should I do now? Planning when Hikigaya is involved is useless! And without planning ahead I am useless!" I said as I buried my face to the Pan-san plushie.
"You turned me into this Hikigaya-kun, you better take responsibility" WHAT AM I SAYING?
Meanwhile...
At the Hikigaya Household-
3rd Person POV:
Hikigaya is currently meditating on their sofa.
Hikigaya opened his eyes and then clapped!
"I have no idea how to date." said Hikigaya.
"I don't even know what's the good places for a date!... Well I know one but the Saizeriya is currently under construction because we messed that place with our fighting, so where I am gonna bring Yukinoshita?" Hikigaya said as he talks to himself.
"PS Vita-chan I implore you!" Hikigaya shouted as he stood up the sofa and ran to his room.
After arriving at his room, he saw his PS Vita laying a top of his bed.
He quickly jumped and landed on his bed then grabbed the PS Vita.
"I'm gonna play a dating sim and follow every step." Hikigaya said with the most serious face that his face muscles allows him to.
Hikigaya called Yukinoshita and then opened the dating sim game at the same time.
"Hello? Are we gonna talk about the date?" Yukinoshita said from the other side of the call.
At the same time, the game started at a cliche scene on when the childhood friend is waking up the main character.
"Oii, you'll be late, wake up!" the childhood friend from the game said.
Hikigaya's options are:
[Tell her to go away!] [Call her Mom.] [Grab her closer to you] [Continue sleeping]
"Continue sleeping is really enticing but that would fail this mission, calling then telling her to go away would just be dangerous for me the next time we see, and it would be impossible to grab her to me and even if I can, I wont so the obvious choice is..." Hikigaya thought.
"Okaa-san?" Hikigaya answered Yukinoshita.
Hikigaya is on his way to a really bumpy route.
"Are you on to something Hikigaya-kun? I've got the police on speed dial." Yukinoshita responded.
The childhood friend in the dating sim then responded "You really are funny, I'm not your mom you know!"
And Hikigaya's options for responding are:
[Yeah, you're more beautiful than her] [Nah, my mom's more beautiful than you] [Right, you are more of an angel than a mother] [If you are not my mother, then why are you in my room?]
"I'll be biased here so the obvious answer here is..." Hikigaya thought.
"Nah, my Okaa-san's more beautiful than you" Hikigaya said to Yukinoshita.
"Hikigaya-kun, why are you comparing me to your mother?" Yukinoshita asked.
The childhood friend from the game then responded "I know right? That's why I aspire to become like your mother when I grew up!"
And Hikigaya's options for responses are:
[As if that will ever happen] [If you ever did become like my mom, I'll marry you! Just kidding hehee] [Just be like my dad instead, you'll fit the role] [Just look at her in the eye with a mocking look]
Hikigaya's about to choose the option: [Just be like my dad instead, you'll fit the role] but he didn't want to anger the childhood friend so he chose: [If you ever did become like my mom, I'll marry you! Just kidding hehee]
"A green flag! Time to strike!" Hikigaya thought.
"If you ever did become like my mom, I'll marry you! Just kidding hehee" Hikigaya said to Yukinoshita.
"Ehh?..Muffled sounds.. Sorry I dropped the phone, what?" Yukinoshita is shocked.
Thats when Hikigaya realized the error of his ways...
"We already have a date! So it's wrong that I should start the dating sim from the start!" Hikigaya internally screamed.
Hikigaya quickly loaded a save file where he's about to date the childhood friend.
The game now show this: Where will you take her for the date?
And his options are:
[Just cancel it] [In my house] [At the arcade] [At the amusement park]
"Forget the other options, this one is God sent! I don't have to worry about other people, I wouldn't even have to spent money, it's really close since it my home then Okaa-san and Otou-san are still at work and Komachi is out with her friends! The perfect timing!" Hikigaya thought.
"In my house, let's have the date in my house" Hikigaya said to Yukinoshita.
"...ok..." Yukinoshita said, she seems to be away from her phone when she answered.
Hikigaya turned off the PS Vita and smiled.
The face of success, that what Hikigaya have right now.
"Heh, I'm too good for this world" Hikigaya said as he brushed up his hair.
He then grabbed some clothes and is now preparing for a bath.
He got out of his room with his change of clothes hanging on his shoulder.
The moment he entered the bathroom, he saw his father taking a dump.
"Oii" Hikipops said.
"Otou-san, you're supposed to be at work today too right?"
"Well, it's the weekends and I felt like not being a corporate slave today so... Yeah I'm taking a dump here, GET OUT!" Hikipops shouted.
Hikigaya quickly closed the door and leaned to it.
"A GIRL IS COMING AND MY FATHER IS HERE? OH NOOO!" Hikigaya internally screamed.
