First off, we are the top result now if you search "Ash's Fantastic Journey"! :) Thank you for all the support!

Honestly, the fact that twenty six people are interested in this enough to follow and that twenty four people already love it enough to favorite is something I thought I'd never achieve. I'm just some dude who wanted to see a concept they didn't think they saw enough. So, I just got to writing.

The fact that over 1,300 people have read this is insane to me. Some of them would be re-reads or my readings. Still, this is ridiculous.

I can't thank all of you enough for the support. I really never thought I would get this far. I know this is nothing to the three thousand favorite stories, but this is still something I didn't know would ever happen.

Onto the story! :)

For Flashback speech or thought to be enabled, there must be a line that says Flashback; otherwise, 'Filler Word' is Auraspeak/Psychic Speak.

Telepath/Aura in Flashback "Aura Speak" (I mean pokedex does that too, but something just tells me that you will be able to figure it out on your own.)

That's right! I finally fixed the Aura/Telepathy problem. (In Flashbacks)

Our trio of heroes were hiking towards Mt. Moon. Pikachu was resting on top of Ash's backpack, and Anorith was also sleeping under Ash's cap. If you looked close enough, you could see two claws sticking out of Ash's hat.

Misty turned to Ash and Brock. "Mt. Moon, doesn't the name sound romantic?" Misty said. In response Brock exclaimed. "People say a meteor crashed into the mountain back in prehistoric times!"

"A meteor?" Ash said to himself in thought. "The meteor is called the Moon Stone." Brock said smoothly. "Ah, now that's romantic!" Misty exclaimed. Strangely, Misty was in a mood for romance. Ash and Brock didn't know why.

"That's it!" Ash yelled. Brock and Misty looked at him puzzled. They said the same thing. "What are you talking about?" "You said that the meteor crashed in prehistoric times. Right?" Ash asked. "Well, yes. What does that have to do wi-" Brock asked. Before he could finish his thought, a realization hit him.

"Ash! You're a genius!" Brock said. "What are you guys talking about?" Misty asked, slightly angered. "You see, Anorith was alive in prehistoric times." Ash said. "Meaning, he might be able to tell us about the meteor." Misty finished his sentence.

"Hey, Anorith, can you tell me about the Moon Stone?" Anorith chirped. He told Ash through his thoughts that he didn't know much. When the Moon Stone crashed, there was quite a buzz. He said that the main part of the Moon Stone was still in Mt. Moon, but some of the shards had been moved. That's how pokemon like Nidorino and Nidorina can evolve.

Pieces of the Moon Stone that were moved were found. However, currently, there has never been a piece of the Moon Stone found in Mt. Moon. All the Moon Stone pieces humans had found were already moved by prehistoric pokemon from the mountain. Anorith told Ash that he didn't know much else.

'Thank you!' 'It's no problem.' Anorith thought. Ash recited what Anorith had told him to Brock and Misty. The two were astounded by that. The Moon Stone must be extremely well hidden for humans to not find a single shard in the mountain.

Suddenly, a man's scream could be heard; Pikachu was woken up. "Look, over there!" Ash said while running. Brock and Misty trailed closely behind him.

When they arrived at the scene, they saw a man in a white lab coat. He was holding his head down, cowering from twenty one Zubat that were using Tackle on him repeatedly. Ash came to a stop first. "It's a horde of Zubat!" "They're attacking that guy." Misty said.

"Wait, usually, Zubat hate going outside! In fact, it's even daytime." Ash said in a thinking pose. His hand was under his chin. He was startled by Misty. "This is not time to question their behavior, that guy needs our help!." "You're right. I'm sorry."

"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Pikachu charged up electricity in his cheek pouches. At the sound of sparks, Seymour turned his head. He had admiration in his eyes. Pikachu jumped off of Ash's shoulder and zapped the Zubat. With such a powerful charge of electricity, the Zubat flew off, back into the cave.

However, of the twenty one that were harassing Seymour, only nineteen made it back. The two of them that took the brunt of the attack were knocked out instantly. Ash and Brock both threw a pokeball at one of the Zubat.

Ash gave Brock a high five. They were quite happy that they caught a new pokemon, though they were on edge. They wondered what the man did to deserve the ire of the Zubat. Hopefully, the Zubat were just extra aggressive today and the man wasn't a bad person.

The man was on the ground, still groaning in pain. Ash ran up to him with Pikachu in hand. "Are you okay?" The man instantly jumped up. He gave an enormous hug to Ash. He was crying tears of joy. "Wow, you guys are the greatest!" "Really, it was nothing!" Ash replied. He hoped the man would let go of him soon.

"I'm talking super fantabulistic. I mean two thumbs up! Way up! I mean the best rescue I've ever had." the man said. During that time, Pikachu was being squished. Ash felt the man's grasp ever so slightly weaken. Using that, he slipped out right before Pikachu released a discharge of electricity.

Seymour was zapped. His hair frizzed up for a small time after. By small, I mean miniscule. It took him less than a second to get back up; his hair was back to normal already. "They say man's best friend is a pokemon, and with you two, I believe it!" he said. He finished his sentence while re adjusting his glasses.

"Oh, that's nice." Ash said unsure. He was a little creeped out by the man's enthusiasm. Then again, the man was just rescued. "I'm so moved; such friendship I'd thought I'd never see when the Zubat began attacking me!" He said while clasping his hands together.

"I thought I was done for when who should arrive. Two heroes, thanks to whom I'm alive!" Seymour said. He threw his hands up. "I'm alive! Thank you so much; thank you!" He yelled.

"He sure doesn't seem like the poetic type." Misty thought out loud. Seymour walked back to Ash. "Did I mention how grateful I am?" he said. "Yeah, um, anyway why were the Zubat attacking you mister?" Ash asked. "Never call me mister! My name is Seymour, Seymour the Scientist!" Seymour said hastily. "Knowledge, research, I'm Seymour the Scientist."

Brock's sweat slightly dropped. The other two stared at him like he was an alien.

The trio had made it into the cave with Seymour. "See, the cave is all lit up inside." Seymour said unhappily; towards the end of his sentence, his voice grew slightly shaky. "Somebody has strung these lights through the whole cave, but the pokemon in this cave need the dark. These lights are upsetting them and making them confused." Seymour said.

"That's probably the reason why the Zubat left the cave and attacked you." Brock said. "Look, here, these Paris are planting their mushrooms everywhere, and the hot lights are drying out these Sandshrew." Seymour continued. "Piii." Pikachu said sadly. "That is why I am here! I patrol to protect the mountain from the troublemakers' attack against these caves." Seymour finished.

"Troublemakers? Why attack a cave?" Misty asked. Though she had a sneaking suspicion in her gut, she didn't want her assumption to be true. Seymour turned around with a sad look in his eyes. "I'm afraid it's because of the Moon Stone." "The Moon Stone." Brock agreed.

"Exactly! The Moon Stone is an awesome a million years old or even older! Deep in these caves, the meteor hides though no explorer has found the place of the legendary rock from space! We've studied its fragments for many an hour and discovered it increases a pokemon's power, but that is why the attackers are here. They've come to take the Moon Stone. Or so I fear!" Seymour recited. Ash doubted that the Moon Stone powered up a pokemon; it probably just allowed certain pokemon to evolve.

"Ever since I was a little boy, I believed that pokemon came to Earth from outer space!" Seymour stated. The trio all said this at the same time. "From outer space!?"

"Yes, and where is the spacecraft that brought them to Earth? It's in this cave! It's the moon stone!" Seymour said. "It sure is an original theory!" Misty said. She didn't really believe this. Ash decided to speak up. "Anorith says that there were already pokemon when the Moon Stone crashed, but there are certain pokemon from outer space. So, it could just be a species or two of pokemon!" Ash said. He believed that it might be a species of pokemon, just not all pokemon.

"Hm, that is quite an interesting theory!" Seymour said. A realization dawned on him. "Wait, you have an Anorith?! HOW?" "Well, you see I got him as a fossil and rejuvenated him at Pewter City." Ash answered. Seymour nodded his head in understanding.

Seymour continued. "But, don't you see? This means the Moon Stone belongs to the pokemon! We humans must not take it from them!" he declared. "You must agree with me; don't you?" Seymour said after getting right in front of Ash. Hoping Seymour would go back to normal, Ash frantically nodded his head saying. "Uh huh, uh huh."

Ash and the gang were walking again, when suddenly, Ash felt a tug at his leg. He looked down and saw a golden shrew with a white stomach pulling at the bottom of his pants. It looked dehydrated.

In a matter of seconds, Ash was able to put two and two together. "Hey! This Sandshrew needs water." Ash brought out his water bottle and gave it to Sandshrew. The pokemon guzzled down the water. It seemed like the lights had dried out this Sandshrew more than the others. More likely than not, it hadn't drank for around a day or two.

That, combined with the lights, could have spelled doom for the small pokemon; it was lucky that Ash and his friends came this way. The four of them decided to have lunch together. They set up camp. Really, they just set up a picnic blanket and Brock cooked. Usually, Ash and Brock would cook together. Well, sometimes. Other times, Ash would take care of the pokemon.

Right now, Ash was petting Sandshrew. Sandshrew fell asleep in Ash's arms waiting for Brock to finish cooking food. It had been a while since Sandshrew had felt this. He was cared for a lot by these people. He fell asleep in the warm arms of the one who saved him.

After a while, the sweet smell of food hit his nostrils. It had been a long time since he had such a good smelling meal. He woke up instantaneously.

Ash laughed at Sandshrew's antics. The pokemon scarfed down its food faster than a Snorlax. It held out its bowl almost to ask for seconds. "All right, but first, let's give the other pokemon a chance to eat!" Brock said. "Anorith!" "Pika pi."

Sandshrew nervously rubbed the back of his head. Ash and Sandshrew finished eating first. Pikachu also finished at a similar time; however, he insisted on eating ketchup. Ash didn't understand Pikachu's strange obsession with the red sauce. He had talked with Pikachu using telepathy before. Pikachu called it the "nectar of the gods".

Sandshrew started rolling around excitedly. They started playing tag; Ash was having a hard time keeping up. Sandshrew rolled insanely fast. Ash tripped and landed on his but. He ended up laughing.

Sandshrew and Ash played together while the others ate. Slowly, more and more of Ash's pokemon started to join in. First, Pikachu finished eating his Ketchup. Soon, Anorith followed. Ash's other pokemon also joined in. Soon, everyone was done eating. Brock, and Ash were cleaning up. Misty and Seymour were discussing things together.

When they were about to leave, Ash felt a tug at his pants. He joked inwardly that it was another Sandshrew. He looked down and to his surprise, it was. After a moment or two of close examination, he realized it was the same Sandshrew he had just been playing with.

"Shrew sandshrew!" Sandshrew said while pointing at one of the pokeballs on Ash's belt. "Huh? Do you want to go with me?" Ash asked. Sandshrew vigorously nodded his head. "Okay, you'll be sent to Professor Oak's lab first. However, I'm planning on sending Gyarados in for you. Okay?" Ash asked Sandshrew.

Once again, Sandshrew nodded his head. Ash brought out one of his pokeballs that didn't already contain a pokemon.

Sandshrew put his claw on the center of the pokeball. He was sucked into it in a flash of red light. A quick ding was sent out of the pokeball, signifying a capture. The lack of wiggling meant the pokemon put up little resistance.

Ash swiftly called Professor Oak and requested to send Gyarados in. The professor was ecstatic that he got to study a shiny pokemon. He sent Sandshrew over and Ash sent in Gyarados.

Ash let Sandshrew out of his pokeball and scanned him with his pokedex.

Sandshrew, the mouse pokemon. It can roll its body into a ball. It moves through the desert by rolling at high speeds. This Sandshrew is male. This Sandshrew is incredibly large. It is 5'00 tall or 1.5m. It weighs 66.25lbs or 30kg. It has the ability Sand Veil and the hidden ability Sand Rush. This Sandshrew knows Scratch, Sand Attack, Slash, Poison Sting, Defense Curl, Rapid Spin, Fury Swipes, Rollout, Fury Cutter, Magnitude, Sand Tomb, Bulldoze, Hone Claws, Safeguard, Counter, Rock Slide, Metal Claw, Swords Dance, Crush Claw, Night Slash, and Rock Climb. Note: Hone Claws, Safeguard, Counter, Rock Slide, Metal Claw, Swords Dance, Crush Claw, Night Slash, and Rock Climb are egg moves.

The squad continued to travel. Seymour continued to go off with his petry. A pokemon bounced by, cutting him off. "Clefairy." The pokemon was pink and was hopping up and down with a rock in hand. All of them turned and said "Ah!"

"That looks like a… Clefairy." Brock said. "It's so cute!" Misty said while blushing. Clefairy continued to skip while chanting its name. Ash pointed his hand at the pokemon. "Clefairy are rarely seen by humans!"

Ash ran up to it and readied an empty pokeball. He was ready to take off his cap and sent Anorith out. "Aw! I gotta catch it!" Before he could do anything, Seymour grabbed his arm. "You can't!" "Huh?" Ash said in confusion. During that time, Clefairy skipped away. Ash looked down in disappointment and then at Seymour in annoyance.

"Sorry, but it's best if you just let it stay here. I hope you understand." Ash thought about it and it kind of made sense. "Wait, Seymour, I have a question." Seymour nodded his head. "What is it?" Ash said his question. "Why is it best that the pokemon stays here? Couldn't that argument be said for any pokemon?"

Seymour thought for a moment; it was a valid question. "Well, you see, Clefairy are very rare, and I think they would be much happier to stay here. Besides, the Moon Stone is probably of great importance to them; being removed from it would be cruel."

Ash nodded his head in understanding. "I think I understand what you're saying!" He replied. Right after they finished that, they heard a scared "Clefairy!" wailed out.

Clefairy was trapped in a corner holding its moonstone. Meowth could be seen standing menacingly on a rock near it, looking down at Clefairy. "Don't be scared of Meowth!" Our heroes rounded the corner before Meowth could do anything.

"It's Meowth!" Ash said. "Meowth! What are you doing here?" Asked Meowth. "Looking for trouble makers like you!" Ash replied.

Pikachu scampered to Clefairy and started communicating with it. "So Team Rocket is causing all the trouble around here. What a surprise." Ash said dryly. "We've gotta stop them before they start any more trouble." Brock said.

"Trouble!" Jessie's voice boomed. "Make that double." James continued. The two spoke in turn. "To protect the world from devastation!" "To unite all peoples within our nation." "To denounce the evils of truth and love!" "To extend our reach to the stars above!" "Jessie." "James!"

Jessie and James crossed their digging tools above their head to form an x. "Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!" "Surrender now or prepare to fight!" Meowth jumped up. "Meowth! Dat's right!"

"They sure are showoffs." Seymour said. Ash looked at them weirdly. "Don't you ever get tired of getting the same things over and over?" "You're just jealous because we'd never let you join us!" James said. "Like I'd ever join scum like you." Ash retorted. "You're the ones who put the lights up in this cave; it's your fault the pokemon living here are so confused!" Brock exclaimed.

"What a shame." Jessie said. "How will we ever forgive ourselves?" James said in a mock sad tone. "We wanna get the Moon Stone! We heard it might powa up our pokemon!" Meowth said. "We won't let you do that!" Ash vowed. "If you want a rock, get one of these. Then, get lost!" Brock added.

"Get lost? How rude." Jessie said. "Let's teach him manners." James said. Ash looked towards Misty. "Look after Seymour and Clefairy. Run away when you get the chance." "Right!" Misty responded.

Brock sent out Zubat and Ash sent out Butterfree. "Koffing, Smog attack!" Koffing spread smog from its holes and covered the battlefield. As the smoke approached Butterfree and Zubat, Ash commanded Butterfree and Brock commanded Zubat. "Butterfree, Whirlwind, now!" "Zubat, use Gust, now!"

Butterfree and Zubat used strong winds to send the smog back. "What's this?" James asked while covered in smoke. Misty and Seymour took a run for it now. Ekans and Koffing launched themselves towards Butterfree and Zubat, but Ash ordered Butterfree to use Stun Spore on Ekans and Brock ordered Zubat to use Supersonic on Koffing.

During that time, Meowth snuck away from the rest of Team Rocket.

Super Sonic confused Koffing into attacking Ekans. In retaliation, Ekans attacked back. The two ended up fighting each other creating a small dust cloud around them. "Ekans and Koffing are getting confused." Brock said. "Butterfree, Whirlwind! Blow them all the way out of the cave." Ash commanded.

Butterfree flew up into the sky and started flapping his wings furiously. With such strong winds, Team Rocket was sent flying out of the cave. "It's time Team Rocket blasted off!" James said. "You may have won this time, but we'll be back!" Jessie said angrily.

"We did it!" Ash yelled. Ash and Brock high fived each other using their arms. "Excellent teamwork." Brock said. "Hey, wait a second… aren't we forgetting something?" asked Ash. "Yeah, something's missing!" Brock seconded.

The two guys came to the same conclusion at the exact same moment. "Hey, where is Meowth!?"

Clefairy could be seen bouncing away with a moonstone fragment. Meowth chased Clefairy off of the ledge and it bumped into Misty and Seymour. The three of them tumbled into the river below. In the area, the current was weak, so they didn't have to worry about being swept away.

"Meowth, I'm sure we can be reasonable about this!" Seymour said. "No we can't!" replied Meowth. "Not so fast Meowth!" Misty said as she sent out Staryu.

She commanded Staryu to use Swift then Water Gun. Staryu shot yellow stars from its core then sent a blast of water from its tip. The combination of attacks struck Meowth. The water started going in Meowth's mouth and filled him up like a water balloon. As the water stopped, Meowth spewed out water from his mouth quickly. He was propelled like a spinning missile due to the force of the water being launched from his mouth.

After that, Misty returned Staryu. "Hey, are you guys okay?" Asked Brock. Brock and Ash were running alongside the river and were nearing Misty and Seymour. "We won't be bothered by Meowth anymore thanks to Misty the mighty!" Misty boasted.

The sun was now setting. Brock was feeding the pokemon food. "What's that?" Ash asked. "It is my super secret pokemon food recipe; the ingredients are blended specifically for each pokemon." Brock answered. Ash gave some of the pokemon food to Butterfree. Butterfree ate it very quickly.

"I've been working on it for years. I keep on improving the recipe! I'll make a batch for Pikachu." Seymour decided to eat one and decided he liked it. Ash tried one too and said he didn't like it much. "I guess pokemon have different tastes." Ash said.

"Say, Brock, my pokemon seem to like your pokemon food more than mine. Can you help me improve mine?" Ash requested. "Of course!" Brock said.

Pikachu and Clefairy were talking. Ash walked over and said. "Pikachu makes friends so easily." Pikachu waved his hand at Ash and the gang. "Pika pi!" Then, Pikachu ran away with Clefairy. Our heroes followed the two pokemon.

They hiked up Mt. Moon for a few more hours until they arrived at a cave. "Where are you taking us?" Ash asked. Ash and Clefairy went in. Our heroes followed them in. Inside, they saw a huge Moon Stone. Probably the biggest one. Meaning, it was the original one. "This feels like a dream." Misty said, smiling. "So the Moon Stone legend is true." Brock said wistfully.

"Look, Clefairy is doing something!" Ash looked toward Clefairy who put a final moonstone around the original Moon Stone. The chain of moonstones around the original started to glow. A bunch of Clefairy came out of the shadows. They started to say their name. The Clefairy they rescued explained to the rest of them that Ash, Brock, Misty, and Seymour saved it.

The Clefairy danced around the Moon Stone. They hopped and jumped. "Amazing! These Clefairy formed their own society. This is an amazing sight." commented Seymour. Pikachu and Clefairy continued to talk.

Clefairy was dragged to Ash and the gang by Pikachu. "What is it Pikachu?" Pikachu explained to Ash that the Clefairy worship the Moon Stone. Ash then relayed the information to his friends. Team Rocket were in the mouth of the cave. "That's our cue!" "You guys don't know when to quit." Ash said, annoyed.

Seymour rushed in front of the gang. "Leave this place at once!" Meowth tripped Seymour while saying "Have a nice trip." Jessie ordered Ekans underground and James commanded Koffing to use Smokescreen. Ash and Brock sent out Onix and Rattata. "Wait a minute, since when did you have Rattata on you?" Brock asked. "Earlier, during our hike up, I transferred Butterfree for Rattata!" Brock nodded his head in understanding.

Ekans dug into the ground. Koffing released smog everywhere. "Rattata, annihilate it with Icy Wind!" Rattata released frigid airs around it destroying the smoke. When it cleared, our heroes saw a giant hole where the Moon Stone was before.

"Huh? The Moon Stone is gone!" Ash exclaimed. "Team Rocket stole it." Misty said. "The match was just a trick so they could sneak away with it." Ash said to himself more than anyone else. He was disappointed Team Rocket was able to trick them.

"Alright, Onix, underground." Brock ordered. Onix jumped into the hole and began to dig. Ash ran with his friends towards the exit. "There's still a chance we can catch them!"

Clefairy gave Seymour his glasses back. "Thank you!" Seymour said. "Why don't you go after the robbers who took your Moon Stone? Isn't it sacred to you? It's your responsibility. Do you understand me?" Seymour said. Clefairy nodded its head and beckoned its comrades to fight back with it.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket could be seen sliding the Moon Stone down the hill. "Nice guys always finish last!" Jessie half yelled. "We just went from worst to first." Meowth chuckled. As they continued to celebrate, the path in front of them blew apart from underground. They looked at it, shocked, as Onix came out.

"Got them." Ash said. "Nice work, Onix! Grab them now." "Koffing, Counter attack." ordered James. Koffing doubled the power of the hit, knocking Onix out. Seymour poked his head out of the hole Onix came from. With him came all the Clefairy.

Jessie yelled. "Ekans, use Poison Sting!" "Rattata, to the battlefront! Use Icy Wind; then, use Quick Attack!" Ash ordered. Ekans slowed down with frost all over it. Then, it was sent flying next to Team Rocket by Rattata's hit.

The Clefairy jumped in front of Team Rocket and chanted their name. They wagged their fingers while chanting. "What are they doing?" asked Jessie. "Waving their fingers." said James. "This way and that way. This way and that way." Meowth said. Team Rocket was moving their upper bodies side to side.

Seymour told our heroes that the Clefairy were using Metronome. At that exact moment, the Clefairy stopped chanting. They shot a huge, red, energy beam in the spot Team Rocket was.

"Guess what, it looks like." Jessie said. "Team Rocket is blasting off again." James said. "That was the Metronome!" Meowth said. "I give it two thumbs down." said Jessie. "Me too!" James said. "Meowth three!" added Meowth.

The outer part of the Moon Stone was destroyed. The shards rained on some of the Clefairy. They evolved into Clefable. The pokemon kept on chanting their names. Suddenly, Rattata started to glow. "Wow, you're evolving!" Ash said.

Rattata became Raticate.

Raticate, the mouse pokemon. Its hind feet are webbed, so it's a strong swimmer. It can cross rivers and sometimes even oceans. This Raticate is female. This Raticate is incredibly large. It is 5'10 tall or 1.75m. It weighs 102lbs or 46.25kg. It has the abilites Guts and Run Away; it also has the hidden ability Hustle. This Raticate knows Tackle, Scratch, Fury Swipes, Quick Attack, Focus Energy, Bite, Pursuit, Hyper Fang, Laser Focus, Take Down, Super Fang, Scary Face, Endeavor, Sucker Punch, Crunch, Assurance, Double-Edge, Swords Dance, Uproar, Reversal, Counter, and Flame Wheel. Note: Uproar, Reversal, Counter, and Flame Wheel are egg moves.

Luckily, most of the Moon Stone was intact. Our heroes were back in the cave. They were chatting with Seymour when he said "I have decided to live here with the Clefairy." When the gang gave him confused looks, he clarified. "It's been my life's dream to travel to the stars with the Clefairy." Seymour said.

"When you do visit outer space, I do hope you remember to give us a postcard!" Brock joked. Before Ash could leave the cave, the Clefairy he saved came to him and tugged at his pants. "Clef fairy fai!" "You want to go with me?" Ash asked. Clefairy nodded his head.

Ash threw a pokeball and an immediate ding came after. One of the Clefables gave Ash a moonstone. It was a pretty big shard from the Moon Stone. It looked of similar size to evolution stones like fire stones and water stones. Ash graciously accepted the gift.

He planned to evolve Clefairy, but not until he matured more. He knew that pokemon shouldn't evolve immediately. He called Professor Oak. He was going to send in Scyther. When the professor picked up, Ash was greeted with a loud noise. "HOW DID YOU CATCH A CLEFAIRY?!" Professor Oak screamed.

Ash didn't want to say the specifics because that would betray the Clefairy's trust. Even if the professor was trustworthy, he couldn't have anyone else knowing of the original Moon Stone. So, he just gave Professor Oak a simplified version of events. "I just ended up helping him with something. He wanted to join me afterwards, you know?"

Professor Oak stared at him unbelievingly. "I should expect this from you by now." Ash requested to trade in Scyther for Clefairy. "Of course." said Professor Oak. At first, he was disappointed he didn't get to observe Clefairy, but he reassured himself that he'd have other opportunities. Plus, Scyther was also a rare pokemon.

Ash got Clefairy. He brought out his pokedex to scan Clefairy.

Clefairy, the fairy pokemon. Its adorable behavior and cry make it highly popular. However, this cute Pokémon is rarely found. This Clefairy is male. This Clefairy is incredibly large. It is 3'07 tall or 1.08m. It weighs 35.7lbs or 16.2kg. It has the abilities Cute Charm and Magic Guard; it also has the hidden ability Friend Guard. This Clefairy knows Pound, Growl, Sing, Double Slap, Minimize, Metronome, Encore, Defense Curl, Follow Me, Wake-up Slap, Cosmic Power, Lucky Chant, Copycat, Magical Leaf, Sweet Kiss, After You, Healing Wish, Disarming Voice, Stored Power, Spotlight, Uproar, Misty Terrain, Heal Pulse, Moonlight, Moonblast, Belly Drum, and Mimic. Note: Belly Drum and Mimic are egg moves.

As Ash and his friends hiked down the mountain, they encountered a Paras. It looked like it was looking for something. "Hey, it's missing its mushrooms!" exclaimed Ash. "It must have planted them and not found them." said Misty.

"Hey, Paras, do you know where you were recently?" Brock asked. Ash told Pikachu to wake up. Pikachu was annoyed at first, but he calmed down after hearing the situation. "Pika pi pika pi pi pikachu chau pi!"

After hearing what Paras said, Pikachu told Ash that Paras lost its mushrooms around this cave entrance. It so happened to be the one that Ash and his friends first entered from.

Ash tried to remember any place he saw lone mushrooms. He then remembered when Seymour was showing them examples of the lights affecting pokemon. He saw a group of Paris planting their mushrooms in the ground.

"Hey, Misty, Brock, I think I know where, but you guys should check the mouth of the cave just in case." Ash said. Misty and Brock started overturning boulders, some of which happened to be Geodude, and scouring the ground.

Ash tried to find the place. Paras sat on his other shoulder; one was being occupied by Pikachu. They ran over to a few paths. Ash seemingly couldn't find it; however, Pikachu tapped his shoulder and pointed in a direction. There was an orange glint.

Ash was hopeful. He decided to check it out. "That might be it!" Paris looked excited. She was staring intently where Ash pointed. Could this be it? Could she have found her mushrooms?

When they arrived, there were two mushrooms. Paras squealed happily while jumping off of Ash's shoulder. She replanted her mushrooms on her back. "This is wonderful!" Ash said.

He met up with Brock and Misty. "Good job." Brock said. They were going to leave, when Paris decided to go with him. She tapped his pokeball on the belt with her claw. She was immediately sucked in.

Ash called the professor once more. He quickly complied to send over Paris in exchange for Raticate. As is tradition, Ash pointed his pokedex at Paris.

Paris, the mushroom pokemon. Growing out of the bug's back are mushrooms called tochukaso. The mushrooms grow with the bug host. This Paras is female. This Paras is incredibly large. It is 2'06 tall or .75m. It weighs 35.7lbs or 16.2kg. It has the abilities Effect Spore and Dry Skin; it also has the hidden ability Damp. This Paras knows Scratch, Stun Spore, Spore, Leech Life, Poison Powder, Slash, Growth, Giga Drain, String Shot, Fury Cutter, Toxic, Absorb, Sludge Bomb, Seed Bomb, Grassy Terrain, Endure, Fell Stinger, Leech Seed, Light Screen, Metal Claw, Bug Bite, Cross Poison, Counter, Psybeam, and Pursuit. Note: Grassy Terrain, Endure, Fell Stinger, Leech Seed, Light Screen, Metal Claw, Bug Bite, Cross Poison, Counter, Psybeam, and Pursuit are egg moves.

They had finally gotten a good distance away from Mt. Moon. They encountered a fork in the road. Luckily for them, there was a sign. It said which one of the roads led to Cerulean City. "Well, I guess we are heading the right way." Brock said. "And there is something else scribbled here…"

"I'll read it." Ash said. He stared down at the sign. He wondered what it was; he guessed it was some punk who thought it would be funny. "Gary was here… Ash is a loser…!" Ash was boiling. "LOSER!? OH THAT GARY; I'LL SHOW YOU!" he screamed furiously. With that, he bolted in the direction of Cerulean City.
