The Installation

The doctor had confirmed Evi's thoughts that she was four weeks pregnant. Driving the couple wild with joy. They still had time, but a baby would soon come to expand their family.

A happy Murdoch had been the only one to know about it so soon. They had decided to wait at least three months to tell the children and the ranch hands.

Weeks passed and the new family settled in. William and Lou never imagined they would have so much land, cattle, and horses.

They also went to school, it was easy when your mom was the teacher. They had been accepted by the other kids. Even Jason, Johnny's friend was not jealous. Sam and Lou were playing with the other kids their age, there weren't too many questions, they were all too young to ask.

"So you are his brother?" Jason asked John one day.

"Well technically, William is my nephew, since he's my brother's son," Johnny replied.

"It's strange, it looks like you're thirty John!" Jason teased.

"Yes, and technically I'm my mom's brother. William informed.

"Strange family!" Josh another kid in the class, teased.

They laughed.

"My Dad says that no matter how kids join a family, by blood or by heart, the important thing is the love that is present in a family," said William.

"It's true," Johnny said.

"We don't have a lot of age difference and we share a room, that sounds a bit like brothers, I admit," John said.

He gets a huge smile from William, as the bell rings for entry to class.

"Sunday afternoon we're all going for a horseback ride, are you coming?"

"No thanks" Johnny replied, "William is from town, he doesn't know how to ride yet. Scott will teach him soon."

"You can go John if you want, that's okay," said William.

"Are you sure you don't mind?"

"Of course not, I'm taking enough of your time like that, go spend some time with your friends."

"Okay then, thank you William, I'll ask my Dad if it's okay, but I got a good grade and if my homework is done I think he will say yes."

"Boys!" Growled Evi "Maybe you want some tea and cookies? ... When I ring the bell, you come immediately! not continue to talk!"

"Yes ma'am, sorry" they said.

"Next time you will be punished! Am I clear?"

"Yes Ma'am."

"Good! Go and sit down."

Johnny did have a horse of his own, as his father had hundreds of them on a regular basis. He'd had his own horse since he was ten years old and had grown too heavy for his pony, which had been sold. He knew how to ride almost before he walked, like all the children in the region.

Unbeknownst to the children, although they suspected it, Scott had been actively looking for a pony for the girls and a horse for William. Scott wanted to quickly start teaching them horseback riding.
Johnny's horse was quite lively, it was fine for John who rides very well since he was little, and controls him without a problem. William, though was a beginner, that horse would be too fiery, plus the boys might want to ride together on their land. It was normal at this age and it would take two horses.

"Mom? Are you going to tell the Dads that Johnny and I were late for the bell?" William asked worried.

"No, I won't. The fathers of the other boys won't know about it, so there's no need to tell them. But if it happens again and I punish you, a low deportment grade will be given to everyone and I would tell Daddy and Murdoch." Evi replied.

"Yes Mom." "Yes Evi." Will and Johnny reply.

On Saturday, William and Johnny had asked to take a little tour of their land.

"Please Daddy? Johnny asked.

"If Scott's okay with this, I'm fine," Murdoch replied.

"Scott ... Dad ..? "

"You stay within calling distance and avoid the water, Will can't swim yet. I'll trust you to do as I say." Scott replied.

"Promise!" The two children said at the same time.

"And what about US, can't we go?" Lou asked.

"You two girls can walk around the yard, you don't go any further alone."

"Yes, Daddy."

"Girls," Johnny said, "after our ride, we'll build you a cabin and play with you, okay?"

"Okay!" She said.

"Thanks boys" Scott said, smiling.

But after thirty minutes in the yard, Lou wanted to go further.

"No, Lou, Dad is going to be mad!" Sam told her.

"He won't know! Come on!"

"No, you're wrong, he always knows it!"

Lou didn't listen and took off.

Sam found herself caught in the middle, she didn't want to disobey her father, but at the same time, she was a little more used than Lou to the dangers of the forest, the river, and the various hidden fishing coves.

"Anyway, I'll take a spanking! Lou is more important," Sam thought and she followed her new sister.

It was Evi who noticed the girls misding when she wanted to bring a snack to the girls.

"Scott?" She said entering the barn where the man was storing fresh hay upstairs with four of the ranch hands.

"Yes?" He replied, sticking his head out to look at her from above.

"The girls are not in the yard and I'm worried. I called, they didn't answer."

"Did you check their rooms? Maybe they just went in?"

"Yes, they are not there."

"Alright, I'm coming, I'm going to kill them!"

"Do you want help looking, sir?" Jack asked.

"No thank you, continue here, Sam knows the woods, that reassures me a bit."

Scott and Evi set off to meet them, finding William and Johnny having fun.

"We will help you look." The boys said after hearing the girls were missing.

They all went looking for them, calling their names.

Finally, Scott heard Sam growl.

"No Lou, I won't let you get near the river, it's dangerous!"

She pulled her by the arm.

"Come here!" Scott growled. "You have deliberately disobeyed me! Let's go home! Boys, you can stay, but not by the river."

"Yes sir!"

The man grabbed each little girl by the hand and brought them home.

"Go to your room!" He ordered.

He was angry, he knew that he needed to calm himself down before punishing them, so he poured himself some coffee to relax.

"You're really mad aren't you?" Evi asked.

"Yes, I have to calm down, I don't punish any child if I'm upset. I was very scared."

"Me too, you are a good father, few people would take the time to calm down, I love you!" And she kissed him.

"Did you want to calm me down?" He teased, "Good, it worked!" He kissed her in turn, hugging her tightly against his chest.

Scott walked up the stairs and entered the girls room.

Lou was sitting on her bed and Sam was sitting at her desk.

He sat down on Lou's bed. "Get up."

"Samantha, come here." He had the two little girls standing in front of him.

"I'm listening, do you even have an excuse to disobey me?"

Sam explained what had happened, how she had tried to stop Lou from leaving, then her hesitation between a spanking or leaving Lou alone in the forest, she knew the dangers, but Lou did not.
"You won't believe me, and I disobeyed you anyway, I knew I would be spanked, but I couldn't leave Lou alone, so I followed her."

"I see. Louise, do you have something to add?"

"No Daddy."

"Sam, go wait for me in my room," Scott said.

Sam immediately obeyed.

"Lou, when I give an instruction, you obey, or you will be spanked!"

Scott stood up and looked around for an instrument, he found a ruler on Sam's desk, he wouldn't unbuckle his belt with Lou.

He sat down, put Lou on his knees, pulled up her dress and pulled down her tights and panties. He then raised his hand and lowered it onto the exposed small bare butt. At the first sound slap, Lou was already crying and apologizing. Four more followed, Scott wanted Lou to remember it, so he put in a slight force, he knew it was going to sting.

"Sorry, Daddy, please! I will obey you!"

Scott stopped to pick up the ruler.

"We haven't finished. I'm going to spank you twice with the ruler. You don't disobey me! The forest is filled with danger you have no idea! There are snakes, water holes, wild animals, the river, I forbid you to go there alone! I am your father and you obey me when I give an instruction! Do I make myself understood, little girl?"

"Yes Daddy! I Am Sorry!"

Scott, relentless, lowered the ruler twice in a row, strong enough for a disobedient seven-year-old."

"Ouch! Ow, that stings! Daddy please don't!"

Scott helped her up, but the little girl immediately jumped on him, he hugged her, offering her hugs and comfort.

"Sorry I was bad, Daddy!"

Scott straightened his clothes.

"I forgive you, but I want you to stay a little while in your room, and think about why I was so strict with you. If you had been older, I would have unbuckled my belt for all your spanking! Do you realize now how bad what you did was, how dangerous? "

"Yes Daddy"

Scott walked over to his bedroom to take care of Sam. She was sitting on her bed waiting for him.
He sat down next to her.

"Do you want me to get up and stand in front of you?"

"No, you can stay here. I'm not going to spank you."

"No, I understand the position Lou put you in. You did well to follow her rather than leave her alone, knowing the dangers. It was very brave of you, knowing that you would be punished. Your intentions are commendable, as well as your protection for your little sister. I'm very proud of you!"

"Thanks Dad, for understanding!" She said, throwing herself into his arms.

"Still, you could have shouted, to call me or Mom when Lou was leaving. Why didn't you? "

"Honestly, Dad, I didn't think about it."

"Think about it next time, you could have screamed and chased after her, but you're only eight years old, you're still learning."

"Am I not being punished at all then?"

"No, the quiet moment in my room was your punishment. You can go out and play with the boys. Lou is being punished and staying indoors the rest of the day."

"Thank you Daddy! I love you!"

"I love you too my heart!"

"So Lou, have you thought about it?" Scott asked entering his little girl's room.

"Yes Daddy! I will never disobey you again! Nor go into the forest alone is too dangerous."

"Alright, I'll trust you. You are not confined in your room but you are not getting out of the house the rest of today. Louise, you are being punished, you have lost the right to have fun outside with the boys."

"Yes Dad." Louise said disappointed.

Evi however, planned to bake a cake with Lou to keep her occupied.
