"What's wrong with you?" Angelica asked after she heard Esmeralda arrive home, slamming doors and throwing her purse around.
"Who does he think he is? He has no control over me. I can take care of myself."
Angelica came out of her room to see her sister's emerald eyes lit up as she made herself a drink.
"Who are you talking about, Esmeralda?"
Esmeralda slammed the bottle of wine down on the counter. Angelica thought she was going to break it.
"Jack! Jack thinks just because Frollo wants to use me to get to him that I suddenly have to be careful!"
"Hold on. Wait. I thought you didn't want to see Jack? What about Frollo? Charming's nominee for the Minister of Justice? Give me all of the facts, sis."
Esmeralda rolled her eyes and took a stiff sip of her wine.
"Well Jack just wouldn't leave me alone and the minute I give in he has to come to my rescue and tell me to be careful when he can't even tell me how he feels!"
Angelica's eyes grew wide, stunned to see her sister react this way to Jack Sparrow.
"All because Frollo saw a look. A look! A fucking look! What does a look even mean when words aren't ever said!"
"Esmeralda! Slow down. Tell me what happened. What look?"
Before she could answer there was a knock on the door.
"It's open!" Esmeralda shouted as she took another chug of her wine.
Aladdin came in all smiles, surprising Angelica with a dinner. His smile faded as he sensed the tension in the room between the sisters.
"Everything okay?" he asked.
Esmeralda took one last long chug of her glass and slammed in on the table. Once again Angelica was surprised her sister wasn't breaking anything.
"Oh yeah. Just peachy. I have to get ready for rehearsal," she said as she stormed off to her room to change.
Angelica and Aladdin just stared at each other.
"What was that all about?" Aladdin asked carrying in the food he'd brought.
"I have no idea. But it's got me a little worried," Angelica confessed.
Aladdin furrowed his brow.
"Worried about Esmeralda?"
She nodded.
He went up closer to her and touched his palm to her cheek.
"Hey, don't worry, babe. We're working out a plan so that nothing will happen to her."
Angelica's eyes grew wide.
"What plan? What's going to happen to my sister, Aladdin?"
Aladdin panicked, thinking Esmeralda had told her everything.
"Oh, shit. She didn't tell you?"
Angelica shook her head.
"All she said was that Jack was trying to control her because Frollo saw a look. Then she went on and on about how Jack can't even tell her how he feels. And you saw the rest."
Aladdin sighed.
"Okay, well from what I know, Esmeralda and Jack were seen on Walt Street last night and she left him on the sidewalk and Frollo was watching them. And apparently it's not the first time Frollo has been watching your sister."
Angelica gasped.
"What? Are you serious? My sister has a stalker? Who is this guy?"
"Not anyone I'd like to find alone in a dark alleyway, that's for sure."
"So what does this have to do with Jack controlling my sister?"
"Oh right. Well, Anya overheard Frollo discussing Esmeralda and Jack with Adam this morning and they want to use her to get to Jack. Will told Jack about it this morning and Jack clearly had a conversation about it with Esmeralda and wants her to be careful."
"Oh my God, Aladdin!"
He put his hands on her shoulders.
"It's going to be okay, Ang. I promise. A group of us met today and came up with a plan to throw them off track."
"What's your plan?"
"Jack is going to be seen in public with other women."
Angelica rolled her eyes and laughed.
"That's your plan? You think that will actually work? You forget, I've seen that look in Jack's eye. I know about that which he will no admit and besides – I know my sister and if she finds out, this little scene we saw tonight is nothing compared to that scene."
"Jack didn't look to fazed. And you said your sister didn't want anything to do with Jack."
She smiled and wrapped her arms seductively around Aladdin's neck.
"Tell me, Aladdin, did that look like she didn't want anything to do with Jack?"
They laughed and shared a kiss.
Down the street at another building in the complex, Meg and Flynn were arriving home at the same time.
"And to think I was beginning to feel like I had to look for a new roommate," Flynn said as he walked up behind Meg.
Meg turned around and smiled.
"Not quite yet, Flynn. I'm afraid you're stuck with me."
They began walking up the stairs to their apartment.
"How was your day playing hookie with Herc?" Flynn asked as they reached their front door.
She turned the key in the lock.
"It was just what I needed after last night," she said as she opened the door and threw her keys on the counter.
"Thank you, by the way. It means a lot that you dropped your dinner with Jasmine to help out."
Flynn smiled.
"Hey, what are friends for. As long as you're okay."
"I'm great. Never better. Wonderboy actually told me today that I make him happier than playing on ten thousand football teams could ever make him," Meg said, eyes fluttering as she fell backward on their sofa.
Flynn rolled his eyes and made a gagging gesture. Meg threw a pillow at him.
"You're incorrigible," she said laughing.
"No. Seriously. I'm very happy for you."
"Thank you. Now how did the showing go with Jasmine today?"
Flynn rolled his eyes and went to the fridge to grab a beer.
"Oh, that bad huh?"
He twisted off the cap from the bottle.
"I mean what was I thinking? I set those two up and Dimitri asked her to dinner to celebrate her new endeavor."
"Oh boy. And I'm assuming she said yes?"
He took a swig of beer and nodded.
"Yes she did. It's my own damn fault for introducing them."
"But wait, I thought you and Jasmine were trying out this friend thing?"
"We are."
"So what's the problem? She's single. He's single."
"It's Dimitri."
"Yeah, so he's a player. Big deal. Jasmine can handle herself."
Flynn took another swig of beer.
"Don't tell me, this was all a plan to get her back? Flynn, come on!"
She threw another pillow at him.
"No. No. I mean maybe. But honestly, I just wanted to spend time with her again. I mean, yeah ideally, do I want Jasmine back? Yes. But also I just wanted to be able to be around her without her running from me. And so far it's been working. And she is so happy about this boutique set up. That's all I really care about."
"Wow. Flynn are you okay? I've never seen you like this!"
"Serves you right for calling me hopeless!"
The two shared a laugh. Flynn took another swig of beer.
"So. No wonderboy tonight?"
Meg shook her head.
"Maybe later. He's going to talk to his dad about the whole head coach situation tonight at dinner."
Flynn nodded his head in understanding.
"I see. That's some tough stuff."
And Flynn was right.
Hercules was nervous as Hermes welcomed him into the dining room of his childhood home. He knew how much his father loved to talk about his son who played football. Zeus was proud of Hercules for his success on the field. But he had to stand his ground with this one. Now that he knew what kind of man Sykes was, he could not play for him. And he would make that clear to his father. He took a deep breath as Hermes led him into the dining room where his parents were having dinner with Zeus' brother Po Triton.
"Hercules, my boy, what a surprise!" Zeus exclaimed. "Come in, son. Come in. We will have another plate prepared."
"Thanks, pop," Hercules responded as he took a seat next to his uncle.
"Uncle Po. It's nice to see you. How's Ariel's singing coming along?"
"Wonderful. She's got a few deals to iron out. Soon she'll be on the radio, mark my words," Po responded.
"She has such a lovely voice. Don't you agree, dear?" Hera added, asking Hercules.
Hercules nodded.
"So what brings you home tonight, son?" Zeus asked.
"I do hope Meg is feeling better. She looked so unwell last night. How is she?" Hera asked.
Hercules swallowed and prepared to tell his parents his news.
"Meg is feeling much better, mother. Thank you. That's actually why I'm here."
Hera's eyes lit up.
"Oh don't tell me! We have a wedding to plan for!"
Hercules laughed and shook his head.
"No. No. Mother. Nothing like that. We just got back together. We want to take our time."
"Oh. I see. Then what is it, dear?"
"I can't play for the Mice if Bill Sykes is our coach."
"What do you mean?" Zeus asked.
"I mean, the reason we left so abruptly last night is because Bill Sykes is Meg's father. And he abandoned her before she was born and spurned her again as a teenager."
"What? That's awful!" Hera exclaimed.
"You and Pop raised me to be a person of good character and stand up for my beliefs. And I'm telling you right now, I cannot play for someone I don't respect. The pain I saw in Meg's eyes last night was not something I ever want to see again in the eyes of the woman I love."
"Hercules, there isn't anything I can say or do to make you change your mind?" Zeus asked, disappointed.
Hercules shook his head.
"No. I've made up my mind on this one. I just hope you won't think less of me for quitting."
Zeus sighed.
"Well, I can't say that I'm not disappointed, but you're supporting the woman you love and that is something to be proud of, too."
Hercules smiled, relieved that his father understood his position.
"Thanks, Pop."
"But please, do stay for dinner!" Hera said as Hermes brought out a plate of food.
"Of course, mother."
Later, across town at Pridelands, the night life was getting underway.
Phillip and Esmeralda had just had a grueling rehearsal for an upcoming show and thought it would be good to get out for a drink or two to calm their nerves. She didn't tell him that she'd already had a drink before hand.
"You seemed awfully tense tonight, Es. Is everything alright?" Phillip asked as he held the door open for her.
Esmeralda feigned a smile and nodded.
"Everything's fine. Just nervous for the show, I think," she responded as she walked into the bar.
She stopped in her tracks as she came face to face with Jack sidled up to none other than Aurora Rose at a high top table, clearly flirting.
At the bar, Will and Sinbad see Esmeralda enter. Jack still had not seen his current paramour in the bar. Will knew nothing good could come of the next few moments. For anyone.
Esmeralda only had one thing in mind.
Revenge.
Calmly, she walked up to Will.
"Evening, Will. Are you finished with that?" she asked, pointing to the drink next to him.
"Well, actually -"
"Good. Thanks."
Before he could give a clear answer she took what was left of his rum and coke and walked right up to Jack and a positively giddy Aurora Rose.
"...And then I said, 'but I'm Captain Jack Sparrow,'" she heard Jack finish whatever story he was telling Aurora to get her to giggle like a school girl.
"Hi, Jack."
He turned to see Esmeralda. In all his years of pirating and being dishonest, this was the hardest part to play.
"Esmeralda, darling. Lovely to see you."
He wasn't lying about that at least.
"Is it? Funny I came here to cool off but looks like you're the one who needs it!"
She said as she threw the rum and coke in his face.
Will watched and shook his head, knowing this moment was inevitable.
After she tossed the cocktail in Jack's face, she turned around and stormed off. Will watched Jack intently as she left. He was devastated. He felt bad for his friend.
"Looks like our plan is working," Sinbad said next to Will. "I'll buy you a replacement drink so we can celebrate."
But Will didn't feel like celebrating. He was still beating himself up for the way he treated Anya today. And he wanted to drink for that reason.
"Cheers to that, mate," Will responded.
"I'll let the group know how the first night went," Sinbad responded pulling out his phone.
Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.
Sinbad's text came through to Aladdin who was cuddling on the couch after dinner and a movie with Angelica. Angelica was dozing off in his arms as he picked up the phone and read the text.
"Oh shit. Angelica. Wake up."
"What? What's wrong, Aladdin?" she said sleepily.
"I think you may have been right about our plan being dumb."
"Why do you say that?"
"Because you sister just threw a drink in Jack's face at Pridelands."
Angelica's eyes went wide as they heard stopping footsteps from the stairs coming up to the apartment.
"Oh no."
There was no sleep for anyone in that building that night, given the wrath of Esmeralda Teach scorned.
