Meowth

Ash was walking through Viridian City & stopped by the Gym

"It's been a long time since I've been here" said Ash. "This is where my dad works, Pikachu. He's a Gym Leader. He & his Pokémon are very strong & one day I'm gonna battle him here after I battle the other 7 Gym Leaders."

Ash's father is known as Giovanni Sakaki, the Viridian Gym Leader, he used to be the leader of an evil organization called Team Rocket, but he disbanded the organization 10 years ago after he was defeated by Ash's brother Red Ketchum. Pikachu stared in awe, but then he sensed something & jumped off of Ash's shoulder. Ash wondered where Pikachu was going, so he followed him. Ash followed Pikachu to an alleyway & what they saw was a cream colored cat-like Pokémon with a golden coin-like charm attached to its forehead being attacked by a flock of Spearow. Ash told Pikachu to use Thunder Shock & the Spearow flock got hit & flew away. Ash walked towards the injured Pokémon & pulled out his Rotom Phone

Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokémon, A Normal Type, It lazes about during the day & becomes active at night, when it roams city streets looking for coins & other shiny objects. It has developed a rivalry with Murkrow.

Ash took Meowth to the Pokémon Center

"Nurse Joy" he said after entering

"What wrong" Nurse Joy said

"I found this Meowth in an alleyway being attacked by a flock of Spearow" he explained.

Joy looked at Meowth. "It's injured very badly, we need to start treating it at once. Chansey" she called out a light pink Pokémon carrying an egg in its pouch. Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Chansey, The Egg Pokémon, A Normal Type, Many other Pokémon just love Chansey Eggs—they're full of nutrients & very tasty. Chansey move fast & can be hard to find, so catching one is a rare treat.

Chansey took Meowth to the medical room & Joy started treating it. Several minutes later, Meowth woke up.

"Meowth, you're awake" said Ash. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine" Meowth said in a human language

"Whoa, you just talked" Ash exclaimed

"How is that even possible?" Joy said.

"Excuse me, but where am I?" Meowth asked

"You're in the Pokémon Center" said Joy before gesturing to Ash "This boy saved your life"

"Hi Meowth, I'm Ash Ketchum & this is my partner Pikachu" he said

"Pika" Pikachu greeted with a smile

"Nice to meet you" Meowth greeted back

"Hey Meowth, how can a Pokémon like you talk like a human?" asked Ash

"Well, it's a long story." Meowth explained " When I was a baby, I was alone with no food, no parents, no nothing. No one did anything to help me. Then I saw a movie about a Meowth being treated well in Hollywood, so I decided to go there. I was taking in by a horde of Meowth & their leader who is a Persian, but even though I had enough to eat, I still felt empty. Then I fell in love with a female Meowth named Meowzie, I tried to flirt with her, but she turned me down. Then she said "My owner is a rich lady & she can buy me anything I want. & what are you? You're not rich, you're not even human. You're just a street Meowth. You'll never be human, so just forget about me". So if I wanted her to like me, I had to make myself human. I learned how to walk & run on two legs, I learned how to crawl, I even learned how to talk. It wasn't easy though, it was hard as you know what. I tried to impress Meowzie, with my new ability to talk & walk like a human, but I failed. She said "What's so human about you? You may stand & talk like a human, but you're still just a dirty street Meowth with no money. You're worse than before, now you're a freak." I was crushed when she said that, so I ran away from Hollywood."

Joy, Ash, & Pikachu felt sorry for Meowth

"I don't think you're a freak" Ash said as Meowth looked at him "I think you're special. I think all Pokémon should have the ability to talk like a human like you. You're an amazing Pokémon. You didn't have to go through all that trouble. All you had to do was be yourself. Meowzie may not approve it, but I certainly do."

"…Thank you" Meowth said

Then suddenly they heard an explosion coming from the lobby. Ash & Joy ran to the lobby & saw two men in black uniforms with red Rs in the middle of their shirts.

"Who are you & what is the meaning of this?" said Joy

"We're grunts of Team Rocket" the first man said "& we're here to steal the Pokémon that are in this joint"

"Team Rocket" Joy repeated "but the organization disbanded 10 years ago"

"It's been revived" the second man said "Now hand them over"

Ash stepped in "Not without a fight we're not"

"So be it" the first grunt said as he & his partner each sent out a Pokémon. One was an blue eyeless bat & the other was a purple snake. Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone

Ekans, the Snake Pokémon, A Poison Type, When it's ready for a meal, it can open its mouth extra wide to swallow things that are bigger than itself . Sometimes that trick isn't enough—if a particularly big bite gets stuck, it can cause Ekans to faint

Zubat, the Bat Pokémon, a Poison & Flying Type, Being in the sun isn't healthy for Zubat, so it spends the day sleeping in caves. Since it doesn't have eyes, it uses ultrasonic waves to detect its surroundings.

Ash sent out his Pidgey & Pikachu

"Ekans, use Poison Sting on Pidgey" said the first grunt said as Ekans fired purple darts from its mouth at Pikachu

"Zubat use Wing Attack on Pikachu" the second grunt said as Zubat's wings glowed white & charged at Pikachu

"Pidgey use Air Cutter & Pikachu use Quick Attack" Ash said. Pikachu glowed white & clashed with Zubat. Pidgey's wings glowed light blue & fired light blue X-shaped blades from them which collided with the Poison Sting.

"Pikachu use Thunder Shock on Zubat" Ash said. Pikachu fired a shock of yellow electricity at Zubat. Zubat got hit & fainted

"Ekans use Wrap on Pidgey" the first grunt said. Ekans wrapped its body around Pidgey & squeezed him as Pidgey chirped in pain.

"Pikachu use—" Ash said

"Ah, Ah, Ah," the first grunt interrupted as he waved his finger at Ash. " once you use an Electric Type move on Ekans, you'll also hit Pidgey. As you know, Electric Type Moves are strong against Flying Types like Pidgey."

"Dang it, he's right. Now what am I gonna do?" Ash thought

Just then, something ran off & bit Ekans' neck causing it to let go of Pidgey. When Ash looked, he saw Meowth. Meowth tossed Ekans up into the air, then Meowth's charm glowed yellow, multiple coins appeared, & launched them at Ekans. Ash recognized that move & the move was Pay Day, a signature move of Meowth. Ekans got hit by the coins & fainted.

"What!? Where did that come from!?" exclaimed the first grunt

"Pikachu use Thunder Wave" Ash said as Pikachu released rings of yellow electricity at the grunts & they became paralyzed. Joy contacted Officer Jenny & she came & arrested them.

"I can't believe Team Rocket has been revived, right after the organization had been disbanded 10 years ago." Jenny said

"You don't think Giovanni was the one who revived Team Rocket?" Joy asked

"I don't know, but I think we have to take him into custody" Jenny said

"Wait a minute, Jenny." Ash said "Let me find out who revived Team Rocket. I'll find out who is responsible for Team Rocket's revival."

"Are you sure about that, Ash" Jenny asked

"I'm positive" Ash assured

"…Alright Ash, I trust you" Jenny said "Contact me when you get the dirt."

"Ok," Ash said "but if those grunts say that my father is the one who revived Team Rocket. Don't believe them.

"Don't worry, Ash." Jenny assured "I won't fall for their excuses"

After Jenny left

"Meowth, what you did was amazing" Ash said "Thank you for saving Pidgey"

"It was nothing" Meowth said

"Hey Meowth, how would you like to come with us?" Ash asked "I can prove that you're more than what people say you are & prove Meowzie that she's wrong. So what do you say?"

Meowth stared before smiling & nodded. Ash pulled out a Poké Ball & caught Meowth

Then Meowth came out of the Poké Ball. Technically like Pikachu, he didn't feel comfortable in the Poké Ball & Ash understood. Ash gave his Pokémon to Joy so she could restore them. He called his Mom & told her about his 4 newly caught Pokémon, she was happy & proud of him. he then told her about Team Rocket being revived & she was shocked. He then told her that he was gonna find out who revived the organization, she said it was Ok, but he had to be extra careful. Before he hung up he told her to inform Oak & Giovanni about this tomorrow. After that, he called Professor Oak.

"Hello Ash," Oak greeted "How's everything?"

"Awesome" Ash said "I caught 4 Pokémon"

"Splendid" Oak said

"Professor, on my way here in Viridian City, I saw this Pokémon flying across the sky & when it passed, it dropped this feather" Ash said as he pulled out the feather

"Incredible! Do you know what that is?" Oak asked as Ash shook his head "That Feather is a Rainbow Wing & I believe that Pokémon you just saw was none other than the Legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh. This Pokémon originally comes from the Johto Region. Ho-Oh is also known as the Guardian of the Skies. Legends say that those who bear witness to Ho-Oh are promised eternal happiness. It presumably flies through the world's sky in search of a trainer with a pure heart. The Rainbow Wing you are holding will not only bring joy to you, you will also find people who you trust forever with no doubt."

"That's amazing," Ash said "but may I ask you something Professor?"

Oak nodded, then Ash explained about the talking Meowth. Oak understood that Meowth had a rough life & was surprised about the fact that it could talk in a human language.

"So I thought it would be ok to ask you if I can carry 7 Pokémon instead of 6" asked Ash

"Oh, I get it." Oak understood "You want Meowth to experience your adventures"

Ash nodded

"Well, I see nothing wrong with that. Just put your Rotom Phone in the slot so I can update it." Oak said

Ash put his Rotom Phone in the, Oak updated it, & gave it back to Ash.

"Thanks Professor" Ash said

"You're welcome," Oak said "before you go, there's something I have to tell you. Once you have more than 7 Pokémon, other Pokémon you catch will be automatically sent to the PC. You can use your Rotom Phone or the PC to switch out your Pokémon. You also use your Rotom Phone to find out what moves your Pokémon can learn & scan items. Also, when a Pokémon Trainer starts their journey, they receive a bank account. Trainers can earn money from winning Pokémon battles. There's also an application called PokéBank & when you travel to another region, you'll get another regional bank balance. Anyway, I have to go, be sure to keep the Rainbow Wing in good hands."

"I will" Ash said as he hung up.

the next day Ash continued his journey. But there was a mystery to be solved. Who revived Team Rocket? Who is the current leader? Find out as the journey continues

& there you have it, Meowth has joined Ash. What can I say, I love the little guy & I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. All he wanted was to be happy. I figured Meowth's ability was Technician instead of Pickup. I decided that to have him know a couple of more moves & an Egg move before Ash caught him. & no Giovanni is not the one who revived Team Rocket.
