Mt. Moon
The gang were on their way to Cerulean City
"So Brock, what's it like being the oldest in your family" Ash asked
"Well, as the oldest, you have to help your parents look after your siblings" Brock answered "Do you guys have any brothers or sisters?"
"I'm the only child in my family" Serena said
"& I've got two older brothers, Red & Silver" Ash said
"Red? You mean the Champion?" Brock said
Ash nodded
"Wow, I knew you had to be related to him when you mentioned your last name." Brock said "Do you two have any other Pokémon on you besides Pikachu, Eevee, & Meowth"
"Well, I have a Pidgeotto, a Spearow, a Rattata, a Butterfree, a Beedrill, & a Male & Female Nidoran" Ash said
"& I have a Pidgeotto & a Female Nidoran." Serena said "What about you, Brock"
"To be honest, I only have Geodude & Onix" Brock said sheepishly "That's another reason why I'm traveling; to catch more Rock Types for the Gym & myself"
"That's understandable" Ash said
"You do know that Pokémon Trainers have to take care of themselves on a Pokémon journey, right?" Brock said
"of course we do" Serena said
"Yeah, My mom taught me how to take care of myself, she taught me how to cook, how to make camp, & everything I needed" Ash said
"That's good to hear, maybe we should take turns cooking for each other" Brock suggested
"That's a great idea" Serena said
they arrived at a place called Mt. Moon
"So this is Mt. Moon?" Ash said
"Yep, People say that a huge meteor crashed into this mountain back in prehistoric times." Brock explained
"Is that so?" Serena said
"The meteor is called the Moon Stone" Brock said
"Moon Stone? You mean the evolutionary stone?" Ash said
"Yes" Brock nodded
Then suddenly they heard someone calling for help. When they followed the source of the call, they saw a man being attacked by a horde of Zubat.
"That man's in trouble" Serena said
"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt," Ash said as Pikachu fired a bolt of electricity at the Zubat. The Zubat got hit & flew into the cave.
"Are you okay, sir" Serena asked the man
"Oh yes, I'm quite alright." The man said as he got up "Thank you for saving my life"
"You're welcome. Why were the Zubat attacking you, sir?" Ash asked
"There's no need to call me "sir". My name is Seymour & I'm a scientist & to answer your question. Come with me" Seymour said as he led the gang into the cave. "See, the cave is all lit up inside. Somebody has strung these lights through the whole cave. But the Pokémon in this cave need the dark. These lights are upsetting them & making them confused"
"So that's why the Zubat attacked you?" Serena asked
"Yes, over there, the Paras are planting their mushrooms & the lights are drying up the Sandshrew" Seymour explained as Ash & Serena pulled out there Rotom Phones
Sandshrew, the Mouse Pokémon, a Ground type, Sandshrew Often lives in the desert & other dry places, so it's accustomed to life with very little rainfall. It can move quickly by curling itself into a ball & rolling across the sand.
Paras, the Mushroom Pokemon, a Bug & Grass Type, When Paras eats, it's mostly just feeding the mushrooms on its back. These mushrooms, known as tochukaso, can be picked, dried, & ground into powder for use in medicine
Ash pulled out his water canteen, quenched Sandshrew's thirst, pulled out a Poké Ball, & caught it. Before the gang left Pewter City, Ash deposited two of his Pokémon to the PC, & the Pokémon he has now are Pikachu, Meowth, Pidgeotto, Male & Female Nidoran.

Serena spotted a Paras that was about to take one of its mushrooms off its back & caught it.
"Anyway," Seymour continued, "that's why I'm here on patrol to protect the mountain from troublemakers' who are invading these caves."
"Does it have something to do with the Moon Stone?" Ash asked
"I'm afraid so," Seymour answered "The Moon Stone is a meteorite, a million years old or even older. Deep in these caves the meteor hides, though no explorer has found a place of the legendary evolutionary stone from space. We've studied its fragments for many an hour & discovered it increases certain Pokémons' power when they evolve from the Stone & that's why the invaders are here. They've come to take the Moon Stone. When I was a kid, I learned that some Pokémon came from outer space."
"Wow, that's amazing" Serena said
"Pika Pika" Pikachu said as he pointed at a light pink Pokémon skipping by.
"That's a Clefairy" Brock said
"Aww, how cute" Serena adored
Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone
Clefairy, The Fairy Pokémon, a Fairy type, People of all ages think they're really adorable, but they can be hard to find. When they dance under the full moon, a strange magnetic force surrounds the area.
Seymour & the gang decided to follow Clefairy until it stopped, then its stomach growled, which meant it was hungry. They decided to have a lunch break & Clefairy joined. While they were eating lunch, Brock revealed he caught a Zubat before they entered the cave & Seymour revealed that Clefairy and its evolutionary chain originally come from outer space. While they ate, Ash's Sanshrew was familiar with Clefairy. Sandshrew told Clefairy about how he became Ash's Pokémon & Clefairy was grateful that Ash helped its friend. Seymour, & the gang pressed on to where Clefairy was going. Clefairy led them into another & they saw a gigantic shiny boulder
"That's the Moon Stone's core" Seymour explained
Clefairy placed the Moon Stone near the core. Suddenly the Moon Stone & it's core started to glow & numerous Clefairy came out, then they started dancing around the Moon Stone.
"Clefairy Fairy Fairy Clefairy" Clefairy explained
"It's saying that the Clefairy are praying to the Moon Stone in order for some of them to evolve" Meowth translated
"Wow, evolution is amazing" Seymour said in awe
"We couldn't agree more" A voice said
They all turned & saw a woman with blonde hair & a man with green hair, & they were wearing Team Rocket uniforms
"Team Rocket" Ash said
"So, You must be the brat who took down a couple of our men at Viridian City." The woman said
"Allow us to introduce ourselves, My name is Butch & this is Cassidy" Butch said
"you must be the ones who put up those lights" Serena said
"Of course we did, what's the big deal?" Cassidy asked
"The big deal is that the lights are confusing the Pokémon" Seymour said
"Oh well, no matter. We'll be taking the Clefairy with us if you'll excuse us" Butch said
"If you're gonna take all these Clefairy, you're gonna have to get through us" Ash said defensively
But suddenly the Clefairy stepped in, their fingers glowed white & started waving them.
"They're using Metronome, it's a move that randomly selects a move & fully executes the attack." Seymour explained
Then the Metronome turned into Explosion, which sent Team Rocket blasting off. After Team Rocket Blasted off, particles of the Moon Stone came down. Some of the particles touch some of the Clefairy, causing them to Evolve. Serena pulled out her Rotom Phone
Clefable, The Fairy Pokémon, A Fairy Type, & the evolved form of Clefairy, Clefable usually stay hidden, living in the mountains far from people. Tradition holds that anyone who sees two Clefable skipping along together will have a happy marriage.
When they got to the exit of the cave
"This path will lead you to Cerulean City & before you go, I like to give you this." Seymour said as he gave Ash a Normal Type TM "It's a TM70 containing the move Flash. This will help when you're lost in dark places. I also want you to have this"
"Clefable" one of the Clefable said as it gave Ash a Moon Stone
"For me?" Ash asked as the Clefable nodded "Thanks"
Then the Clefairy from before came up to Ash
"What's up, Clefairy" Ash asked
"Clefairy Fairy" Clefairy said
"Clefairy said it wants to come with us" Meowth translated
"Is that true, Clefairy?" Ash asked
"Clefairy Clefairy" Clefairy said while happily hopping up & down
Ash smiled
"In that case, go Poké Ball!" Ash said as he threw a Poké Ball at Clefairy & caught it "Alright, I caught a Clefairy!"
