A.J.
Before the gang left Cerulean City, they heard someone broke into a couple's house. They investigated the crime scene & found out that a Team Rocket grunt was the culprit, Ash battled the grunt with his Spearow & in the process, Spearow evolved into Fearow. After Ash defeated the grunt, the grunt gave Ash a TM that he stole. The TM was a TM28 containing the move Dig. After the grunt was arrested, The gang were on their way to Vermillion City for Ash's next gym badge. On the way Ash ended up battling a few trainers. Then they heard that a trainer named A.J. who trains savage Pokémon, has his own gym, & hasn't lost a single match. When they arrived at the unofficial gym
"99 battles? This might be difficult for me." Ash said
"Can I help you?" A boy with a black & red shirt, blue shorts, red shoes, & spiky dark green hair said.
"Are you A.J.?" Ash asked
"Yep, That's me." A.J. answered "Which one of you is my challenger?"
"I am" Ash said
"Hm, well I hope you can give me more of a challenge" A.J. said
The gate opened & a Butterfree flew over to A.J.
"Free Free" Butterfree greeted
"Thanks Butterfree, it's good to be back." A.J. said "Can you take my bag inside, please?"
"Free" Butterfree said as it took his bag & flew inside
"Thanks Butterfree" A.J. said
"Is that one of your Pokémon?" Serena asked
"Yep, raised from a little Caterpie. There's a bunch more inside, you're welcome to see them after the match" A.J said
Ash & A.J. went to the battlefield & got into battle position
"which Pokémon are you gonna choose?" A.J. asked
"I'm going with my first Pokémon, Pikachu." Ash said
"Pikachu" Pikachu said as he stepped into the battlefield
"A Pikachu huh? Then in that case, I'm going with my first Pokémon" A.J. said as he pulled out a whip & hit the ground with it. Then a Sandshrew popped out of ground & stepped into the battlefield.
"Sandshrew" Sandshrew said
"After I win 100 matches in a row, I'll start competing for badges." A.J. said "You got any badges, kid?"
"I have, I've gotten two badges" Ash answered
"Hm, I hope you didn't buy them or steal them, cause I would be plenty disappointed. Cause like I said, I hope you can give me a challenge. You should know that Electric type moves don't work on Ground type Pokemon." A.J. pointed out
"I know that & I wasn't planning on using Electric type moves." Ash said
"Good, now enough talk, let's battle" A.J. said
ASH VS A.J.
"Pikachu, use Quick Attack" Ash said. Pikachu became surrounded by light blue aura & charged at Sandshrew with quick speed
"Use Defense Curl" A.J. said. Sandshrew curled up into a ball & got tackled by Pikachu
"Sandshrew, Use Rollout" A.J. said
"Counter it with your Rollout" Ash said
Both Pokémon glowed a bright color & roll into each other repeatedly
"Use Metal Claw" A.J. said. Sandshrew's claw became surrounded by a metallic claw-shaped aura & charged at Pikachu
"Use Flash." Ash said. Pikachu glowed white & shined in a bright light which blinded Sandshrew.
"Now, use Iron Tail"
Pikachu tail glowed white & hit Sandshrew with it.
"Use Dig"
Pikachu spun & dug underground using his tail
"Use Bulldoze" A.J. said. Sandshrew punched the ground creating a shock wave which forced Pikachu out of the ground.
"Now, use Swift"
Sandshrew's tail glowed yellow & fired multiple yellow stars from it.
"Intercept it with Pay Day" Ash said. Pikachu's cheek pouches glowed yellow, multiple golden coin appear, & fired them which collided with Swift
"When did Pikachu learn Pay Day?" Brock asked surprisingly
"He learned it from me while we were training in Viridian Forest" Meowth answered
"Use Metal Claw" A.J. said
"Use Iron Tail" Ash said
Both Pokémon clashed with each other with their moves. A few seconds later, Pikachu fainted.
"& that's victory number 100" A.J. said happily
"Are you alright, Pikachu?" Ash asked as he picked up Pikachu
"Pika Pi" Pikachu nodded
"Ash lost" Serena said with concern
"That's okay, losing only makes a trainer stronger. Besides A.J. was obviously stronger than Ash." Brock assured
"Now that was a challenge" A.J. said as he shook Ash's hand
"Yeah, Congratulations on your 100th win" Ash smiled
"Thanks, now I know why you got those badges." A.J. said
They went into the tent & they saw A.J.'s Butterfree along with a Beedrill & 3 Rattata
"Alright, everyone, we received another victory & that makes it our 100th & final one. So let's pack up & head out" A.J. said
After A.J. & his Pokémon packed up, he returned his Pokémon except Sandshrew to their Pokéballs.
"Y'know, My Sandshrew here is strong enough to withstand water. Sometimes I have to be tough on my Pokémon, but I ask no more of Sandshrew than I do of myself, the very best." A.J. said
"You & Sanshrew are close, are you?" Ash said
"Yeah, we promised to do whatever it took to become the greatest Pokémon & trainer of all time. That was our dream, no matter how difficult our path. We've endured storms & winds. We've sacrificed everything to achieve it & it was worth it.
The snap of my whip is the thing that motivates my Pokémon & I never use it to physically hurt them. But if anything happened to them, I wouldn't forgive myself" A.J. said
"You're a good person, even though you're tough on your Pokémon, you deeply care about them" Serena said
"Right" A.J. said
A few minutes later
"Well, I'm off now" A.J. said
"Good luck on your journey, A.J." Ash said
"You too, let's battle again someday" A.J. said
After A.J. Departed, the gang pressed on to Vermilion City
"That was the first battle you ever lost, aren't you upset?" Meowth asked
"Of course not, losing can only make you stronger & it's like they always say "You win some, you lose some"" Ash said
"You're a good sport, Ash" Serena smiled proudly
Hey everyone, sorry if people thought Ash was gonna beat A.J., but i just thought it would be fair to let A.J. get his 100th win.
