Chapter 10 Voice in the Night

Its been a few says since everyone found out about Amon's ability to take away peoples bending and their connection to the force which put everyone on edge.

Right now Korra was asleep in her room alone before she sensed something making her sit up as Equalists barged in before knocking her out making her yell in shock.

As she fell she was pulled up before she saw Amon with Bastila in his arms shocking her.

"Taking your bending and your connection...Will be the least of your punishment." Amon said moving to stab her.

Only for Korra to wake up with a gasp as she rushed to the cribs checking on the twins but sighed in relief they were still there.

"It's all right." Sean said holding her close as she let out a shuddering breath.

"Thats was the worst nightmare of my entire life." Korra said.

Next day

Tenzin was in the middle of a meeting with members of the Council of Republic City.

"There is a madman running around our beloved city, threatening to tear it apart. We need to create a task force whose sole mission it find Amon and bring him to justice." Tarrlok said.

"Absolutely not. A move that aggressive would only further divide benders and Non-Benders." Tenzin said.

"I fully agree on that. We can't have anymore reasons for them to hate benders and join him."

Tenzin looked at the fifth member of the council who at one point in his life was once a Jedi.

Dooku.

Dooku was in actuality the Jedi who once trained Korra when she first arrived. Originally he planned to leave the Order but decided to stay to train her since he was interested in seeing her grow. But after she Made the Rank of Knight he left the order and came to Republic City before joining the council.

"Tarrlok, I'm inclined to agree with your proposal. But who would even head up such a task force?" A council woman asked.

"It would be my honor and privilege to accept such a duty." Tarrlok said.

"This is just another plot of yours to gain greater political power." Dooku said.

"I'm just trying to help. You were once a Jedi and had to fight against those who stood against what you all stood for. Amon is no different than them." Tarrlok said.

"No, he's not wrong about Benders entirely. Most of the suffering people have gone through were indeed caused by those who had it. Sozin and Ozai were the greatest examples of this." Dooku said.

"Indeed." Tenzin said.

"Amon is not going to stop with the Bending Triads. Eventually he will come for all us benders...Our friends...Our families...Vote for this Task force and I will stop Amon before it's too late. Or there is another option we could use." Tarrlok said.

"And what would that be?" Dooku asked.

"The Avatar and the son of Revan of course." Tarrlok said making him frown.

"Choose your words carefully Tarrlok." Dooku warned.

"We all know they are the strongest of the order. They could wipe out Amon in a day." Tarrlok said.

"That would only prove his point about Benders and Jedi making him a martyr." Tenzin said.

"Besides this would only be beneficial to you and you alone." Dooku said making him frown.

"Then the Task force is the only option. All in favor?" Tarrlok said as the other two raised their hands minus Dooku and Tenzin making him grin seeing his victory while they frowned.

Later

Sean and Korra were outside training before the holonet they were using for Music acted funny.

"Hmm?" Sean said.

"Good evening my fellow equalists." Amon said shocking Korra. "This is your leader, Amon. As you have heard, the Republic council has voted to make me public enemy number one, proving once again that the bending oppressors and the Jedi of this city will stop at nothing to quash our revolution. But we cannot be stopped. Not even the Warmongering Jedi will..." Sean slashed the thing with his lightsaber after that.

"That guy royally pisses me off." Sean said before seeing the look on Korra's face. "You ok" Sean asked making her sigh.

"No...He really scares me." Korra said.

"I know. But it will be ok." Sean said holding her close.

Next day

Sean was walking out of a Legion meeting point after discussing Amon's actions.

As he walked across the street however though someone ran into him by speeder making him yell as he fell down.

"Oh I am so sorry. I didn't see you."

"How do you not see someone right..." Sean tried to say before seeing it was a woman who had white skin long raven black hair and light green eyes. "In front of you." Sean finished as she pulled him up.

"Sorry I was lost in thought...Whats with the mask?"

"It belonged to my father back in the days of the Old Republic." Sean said.

"Old...Wait a minute. Your Kruger aren't you?"

"Yup. Might I ask who you are?" Sean asked.

"Asami Sato." Asami said.

"Of Sato Industries?" Sean asked having heard of them before.

"The very same. My father is the owner of the company. Anyway let me make it up to you for all this. Does dinner sound nice?" Asami asked making him grin.

"Well. I suppose." Sean said before she got in her speeder and drove off with a wink making him grin.

"Oh I think Korra is gonna like her." Sean said leaving.

Next day

Sean and the others were at the dinning hall with Tenzin and his family.

"We are grateful for this delicious food, for happiness, for compassion and..." Tenzin tried to say.

"I'm not interrupting, Am I?" Tarrlok asked walking in making Sean and Korra look at him.

"This is my home, Tarrlok. We're about to eat dinner." Tenzin said.

"Good, because I am absolutely famished. Airbenders never turn away a hungry Guest, am I right?" Tarrlok asked making him sigh.

"I suppose." Tenzin said sitting down while his wife frowned making him shrug.

"Oh, you must be the famous Avatar Korra. And this must be the legendary Kruger. It is truly an honor. I am councilman Tarrlok, representative of the Northern Water Tribe." Tarrlok said.

"A pleasure." Sean said plainly.

"Republic City is a much better place since you two arrived." Tarrlok said.

"Enough flattery. What do you want?" Tenzin asked.

"Patience, Tenzin. I'm getting to that. As you may have heard, I am assembling a task force. I will strike at the heart of the revolution. And I want both of you to join me." Tarrlok said.

"Really?" Korra asked.

"What?" Tenzin asked annoyed.

"I need someone who will help me attack Amon directly, someone who is fearless in the face of danger, And that someone is both of you. After all you've both faced the Sith and..." Tarrlok tried to say.

"Get out." Sean said shocking him.

"Um...Excuse me?" Tarrlok asked.

"I said get out. I know exactly what you're doing. You want us to join so it gets you better approval ratings when your part of the reason this nonsense happened in the first place." Sean said.

"Me?" Tarrlok asked in shock.

"I knew who you were before you even stepped in the room. You constantly stripped away the rights of non benders in favor of those who could bend. Offering better paying jobs to those who were more gifted and left those without in poverty. You no different than Gunray." Sean said.

"Mmhmm." Padme said in agreement.

"Now wait just a minute. It's not like that." Tarrlok said.

"No? When was the last time you helped Non benders?" Korra asked.

"Well...I..." Tarrlok tried to say.

"I think that answers our question." Anakin said.

"Get out." Sean said.

"But I..." Tarrlok tried to say before Ghislaine grabbed him.

"Get lost!" Ghislaine yelled as she dragged him out before throwing him outside.

"What a pest." Oola said.

Next day

Sean was on Draco's head with Bastila in his arms while Korra had Junior rubbing Naga's belly as Bolin walked by.

"Hello, fellow Teammate and good friend!" Bolin yelled making Sean chuckle in amusement.

"Hey Bolin. Staying out of trouble I hope." Sean said.

"Of course. Missed you guys at practice this week." Bolin said.

"Yeah, sorry about that." Korra said rubbing Naga's belly.

"Things have been kinda hectic around here lately." Sean said.

"Yeah I can easily tell like everyone else. Anyway, reason I came by was to give you this." Bolin said handing her a rose and a cupcake making her giggle.

"Wow thanks. Whats this for?" Korra asked.

"Uh...Oh, I can't remember now. Oh, yeah, now I remember. You guys saved me from Amon." Bolin said.

"What did you think we were gonna do? Leave ya? I don't think so." Sean said.

"It was no big deal." Korra said.

"Are you both serious? I was totally freaking out when he was coming at me with his creep mask, all, I will take away your bending forever. I mean, that is scary stuff." Bolin said.

"Fair enough." Sean said before one of Tarrlok's workers approached them with some basket.

"Tarrlok sends his compliments and urges you both to reconsider is offer." She said before Draco snarled at her making her gasp as he roared as she ran off in fear.

"And this is a benefit of having a Kryat dragon as a partner." Sean said petting him making him rumble.

Later

Tarkin arrived on the island to discuss matters about Amon with his son when he noticed a high priced speeder outside with Tenzin's youngest children playing in it.

"Out of the way! We're driving here." Ikki said making him roll his eyes before walking off.

Sean was in the Meditation center as his father walked to him.

"I see you've met Councilman Tarrlok and he wants you part of this task force." Tarkin said.

"Bastard doesn't know when to take NO for a fucking answer." Sean said.

"Hmm." Tarkin said walking to him. "So how are you handling this situation with Amon?" Tarkin asked.

"I'm fine honestly. I know when to admit when I'm afraid of something. Korra's not afraid of losing her bending...I think she fears Amon will come after the twins with murderous intentions." Sean said.

"Ah, I see." Tarkin said.

"You know I was worried when we found out about her pregnancy the Sith might find out some day about them. And come after them the same way they did at me five years ago and before that." Sean said.

"I know thats why we kept their existence a secret. Still we haven't heard anything about them in some time. Perhaps we might now for decades." Tarkin said.

"Wishful thinking for you of all people." Sean said.

"The Sith are famous for their years of patience that rivals even the Jedi. It's not wishful if this is true." Tarkin said.

"I suppose." Sean said.

Later

Sean smiled as Bastila snored in Korra's arms while Oola held Junior.

Thats when the Messenger from earlier arrived once more.

"Avatar Korra and Lord Kruger, I have something for you." She said before Korra growled standing up.

"It doesn't matter how many gifts Tarrlok sends. We're not joining his task force!" Korra said using earth bending to turn her around and kicked her back about to sit back down.

"It's not a gift. It's an invitation."

"To what?" Sean asked.

"Tarrlok is throwing a gala in your honor. All of Republic city's movers and shakers will be there. The councilman humbly requests your attendance."

Sean and Korra looked at each other knowing something was up.

Later

Sean sighed as he was still in his robes looking at the crowd.

"I hate these events still." Sean said before looking at Korra smiling seeing her in more formal clothing for a change with the twins around her.

"I can't believe this is all for us." Korra said.

"I know he's up to something so keep your guard up." Sean said.

"So glad you both could make it. If you'll excuse us, The city awaits its heroes." Tarrlok said leading them away from Tenzin who looked around and then had a look of horror on his face.

"Meelo, No! That is not a toilet! Oh, dear." Tenzin said rushing to him. (I still say it was the punchbowl since he's stupid)

"It is my pleasure to introduce you to..." Tarrlok tried to say.

"Nice to see you again Hiroshi." Sean said shaking his hand surprising Tarrlok.

"Likewise." Hiroshi said.

"You two know each other?" Tarrlok asked.

"My daughter introduced us." Hiroshi said.

"There you are." Asami said walking to them.

"Hey, Asami." Sean said.

"So how did you two meet?" Korra asked.

"She ran me over." Sean said simply making her snicker while Asami glared.

"It was an accident." Asami said.

"I know. But I like seeing you mad. You look cute." Sean said making her blush while Korra laughed.

"Well now." Dooku said walking to them.

"Master?" Korra asked surprised.

"It's good to see you two again." Dooku said.

"What are you doing here? I thought you left the Order." Sean said.

"I did. I am now a member of the council here." Dooku said.

"Hmm." Sean said before Metal wires wrapped around him and Korra.

"What the?" Korra said before seeing Lin and her officers.

"Chief Beifong. You better have a good reason for this." Tarrlok said not amused.

"I do. I am here to have every Jedi and force user put down to prevent anymore wars and destruction." Lin said.

"Lin we talked about this." Tenzin said annoyed.

"No you talked. I have all the evidence I need to have them all put down. They have caused nothing but war and destruction since they were formed. So everyone connected to the force need to be put down now." Lin said.

"Then you might as well put yourself down." Sean said.

"Meaning what?" Lin asked.

"He means the force surrounds everyone and everything. It's part of all of us." Dooku said.

"Lies. Men have them arrested and prepare to have them executed. Starting with those brats." Lin said.

"THATS ENOUGH!" Tenzin roared shocking her. "Lin this is beyond over the line. My daughter is a Jedi. Are you going to kill her too?" Tenizn asked as Pema held her behind her.

"If I have to. Don't you understand. Jedi have caused nothing but trouble." Lin said.

"Your thinking of the Sith. Not the Jedi. Not the same thing. Granted there have been Jedi who became Sith but it's not the same thing. Jedi use their power to protect and serve the people. Sith are no different than the fire nation during the hundred year war. The Jedi are like the Avatar. We're peace keepers and people who try to bring balance. But you're too selfish to see that." Sean said.

"I am not selfish!" Lin yelled pissed off.

"When was the last time you ever thought about anyone but yourself. You give me one...And I'll take it all back." Sean said making her open her mouth before closing it as she thought it over but nothing was said. "Thats what I thought. It's no wonder Suyin never mentioned you. You care only about yourself. Always have and always will. Your worse than Ozai and Sozin." Sean said shocking her as he freed himself and Korra. "Lets go." Sean said as he and Korra left despite Tarrlok's protests.

"Now wait a minute." Tarrlok tried to say.

"Enough. I can clearly see you have some means to try and make us feel guilty for not joining and stopping Amon. Thats what those Reporters are here for right?" Sean asked shocking him. "I saw them on the way here. You're as power hungry as Palpatine was before he was turned to stone. Do not try to persuade us to join when it only benefits you and only proves Amon right. If you had actually made life better for everyone and not just Benders...This may have been avoided." Sean said as they left.

"Lin...Your suspended for the next month." Tenzin said making her sigh as she left.

Sean growled as he and the others left.

"I see your still seeing people as they are rather than who they pretend to be."

Sean blinked before taking off his mask seeing his old Master, Sifo-Dyas.

"Master Dyas. It's been a long time." Sean said.

"That it has. I was sent by the Jedi council regarding the situation with Amon." Dyas said.

"Their that worried?" Korra asked.

"Being able to disconnect yourself from the force is one thing depending on circumstances. But against your will is another. They want to know how Amon has obtained such a power and have him stop before he goes over the line." Dyas said.

"Don't expect any help from the police with Lin in charge. She would rather help him than us." Sean said as they left.
