Day 6 – Winter
Chichi opened her sleepy eyes, not wanting to get out of bed. Not yet. It was so cozy! But she had to. She had to get up and make breakfast for her children.
She got up then, carefully, so as not to wake Goten who was sleeping in the bed too. This last night he had had a bad dream and had snuck under the covers of Chichi's bed, who had no choice but to accommodate him in her bed. When he was a baby, Chichi became too attached to Goten because he was the memory that Goku had left after he died, and so for the first few years he slept with her every single night. But as time went by, Goten grew older, and Chichi overcame the absence of her husband more and more, she didn't allow him to sleep with her anymore, and now he had to sleep in his bed. The little one even took a while to get used to sleeping alone, even though he shared a room with Gohan.
However, every time the poor baby had a nightmare, he'd run to his mother's bed, and Chichi wasn't able to deny him the request. Gohan also did this when he was a little boy, only the difference was that he slept not only with her but with Goku as well, at least until the time he was kidnapped by Piccolo. After that, after spending a whole year sleeping in the middle of the jungle and alone, Gohan never snuck into his parents' bed again. Goten, on the other hand, was already 5 years old and still had this habit, but he didn't go through the same traumas as his brother, fortunately.
Feeling the cold breeze of the winter weather against her body, which, even in her fluffy cotton pajamas, felt chilly, Chichi ran to put on warm and comfortable clothes and went on to make breakfast for her children.
When she looked out the window, a surprise: snow.
Chichi squinted her eyes in amazement. It had been a long time since it had snowed in the Paozu region. It didn't usually snow there, only in very severe winters, as it did this year.
She smiled at the thought that her children would be happy to see snow again.
From the doorway, Chichi watched her two boys make snowmen and snow angels as they laughed and smiled happily. They had to beg her a lot to let them go out and play in the snow, Goten much more than Gohan, to be honest, since the older one was not that interested in playing with snow that much anymore, but he was still excited to play with his little brother. But in the end, she gave in. As long as they didn't stay too long, after all, she didn't want them to catch a cold.
She held a cup of hot chocolate in her hands to keep her fingers from freezing as she slowly drank it. Chichi loved winter very much, and also snow because where she grew up there was none. In Fry-Pan it never snowed.
The first time she saw snow in her life, she was already married to Goku and Gohan was already born, but he was still a baby and she was very worried about taking him out of the house and exposing him to the extreme cold that could make him sick, so it was only after making sure that he had fallen asleep and was very well warmed in his crib, that Chichi agreed to go out for a while with Goku. After that day, she became a little bit more flexible too.
"Oh my, it's so beautiful!" Chichi murmured, extremely delighted with the white snow.
Goku smiled. He liked the snow too.
"Uuuhhh! It's so cold!" Goku remarked as he started to put together a little pile of snow. "Let's make a snowman!"
"A snowman?"
"Yep! Grandpa and I always made a snowman when it snowed." he said as he built up the snow pile into a big sphere. "We have to make a ball with the snow, a big ball!"
Chichi began to imitate his movement and also made another sphere, a little smaller.
"Like this?"
"Yes!" Goku smiled. "This could be the head. Find some sticks and small rocks, for the arms and eyes. And a carrot for the nose!"
Chichi smiled and did as her husband asked, starting to hunt for little rocks and sticks in the forest, where the snow did not completely cover the ground, due to the foliage of the trees, then ran into the house and picked up a carrot. When she returned, Goku had already placed a medium ball on top of the larger one, and the one she made, on top.
"Here!" she handed him the items she had picked.
Goku then made his eyes with two stones and a smile with some smaller rocks, his nose with carrots and his arms with the sticks.
"So, whada ya think?"
"Hm..." Chichi tipped her head to the side, seeing the result of his artwork. It was actually kind of cute. "He looks cold!" she commented, and then took her winter hat off and put it on top of the snowman.
Goku smiled and took off his own scarf, putting it around the snowman's neck.
"I think he's warmer now!" Chichi smiled, looking at the large, ungainly snowman they had made together. Their first snowman. "We should give him a name, what do ya think?"
"Let me see…" Goku put his hand on his chin and made a thoughtful expression. "How about ... Chacha?"
"Chacha?"
"Yeah, because he looks like you!" Goku chuckled and Chichi slapped him on the arm.
"I don't have a big nose like that!" she whined.
"No, you don't!" Goku then grabbed her around the waist and brought her closer to him. "And you're much prettier!" as he said this, he took her mouth in a slow and tasty kiss. "And hotter too!" he whispered over her lips, intoxicated by the taste of Chichi's mouth.
She blushed at the same instant, but didn't deny the onslaught and kissed him again.
Slowly, what was a simple kiss became so hot that the snow around them began to melt. Goku then held Chichi in his arms bride-style and took her into the house again, more precisely into their bedroom.
As the kissing increased, the clothing decreased, until only the heat of their bodies was keeping them warm.
Chichi awoke from the fond moment of her and Goku, when a snowball hit her on the arm. When she looked in the direction from which the ball came, she saw her two boys staring at her. But at the same time that they looked terrified, they also looked like they wanted to laugh.
Chichi squinted her eyes, put the cup of hot chocolate aside, and walked over to the snow, where she crouched down and made a snowball.
"Oookay... It's war that you want, huh?" she said in a playful tone. "It's war you're going to have!"
Then she threw the first snowball, hitting Goten on the head, who laughed with Gohan.
Soon the three of them were throwing snowballs at each other while laughing and having fun.
It had been a long time since she had this much fun. Her life was not so easy and certainly not the same without Goku, but she had the best sons in the world, she loved the snow, so she was going to enjoy every little moment with her beloved children.
