The next morning Kyle and Victoria returned from their night away in the city just as happy as the day before. They were out in the garden catching up with Brax, Ricky and Casey when Kyle decided to get himself a drink from inside. It was then that Heath walked after dropping Darcy off at school, and he wasn't impressed to be seeing Kyle after the argument caused by Bianca last night.

"Finally decided to show your face then?" Heath huffs, as he chucks his keys down on the small table by the door.
"Huh?" Kyle frowns, turning to see the daggers Heath was staring at him. "Have I done something to upset you?" He asks.
"You told Bianca I didn't want to go on her work night out and how I've used excuses in the past to get out of it. She went crazy at me because of you and accused me of not being interested in our relationship anymore! You just couldn't keep your mouth shut could you, and now Bianca is ignoring me!" Heath shouts.
"I'm sorry, I never meant for it to cause trouble between you both." Kyle panics, backing back into the shelf, struggling to catch his breathe.
All he could think about was the abuse he got in the past, how one minute things were great and then something snapped and the whole mood changed. He had always been more sceptical of Heath after the first impression he got those two years ago and it was seeing Heath with Darcy that made Kyle change his opinion. He knew Heath wouldn't have custody of her if social services didn't think he was a fit father, so Kyle decided to give him a chance that payed off. But it was times like this that scared him, when Heath's River Boy side came out.
"You should be sorry!" Heath shouts, taking a step forward.
"Please don't hurt me!" Kyle mutters, holding his hands up in self defence as he desperately tries to steady his breathing, and then Brax, Ricky, Victoria and Casey ran in from the garden after hearing the commotion.
"What's going on?" Brax asks, instantly eyeing up the situation before shoving Heath back away from Kyle. "All of you get out now."
"I'm not leaving Kyle like this." Victoria says, about to take a step forward to check on Kyle when Ricky pulls her towards the door.
"Let's give them some space." Ricky says as Heath storms out the door before they follow to give Brax and Kyle some time alone.
"It's okay, Kyle, just take a nice deep breath in and out." Brax says, getting Kyle to copy him. "You're going to be okay."
"I can't breathe!" Kyle panics.
"You're just having a panic attack. Try and slow your breathing down a bit." Brax says, still getting Kyle to copy him with his breathing, and soon enough Kyle's breathing came under control.
"I'm sorry." Kyle sniffles as Brax leads him over to the couch.
"What was all that about?" Brax asks, wanting to know what led Kyle to have a panic attack after a great night away with his girlfriend.
"Yesterday I told Bianca about Heath making excuses when she has a work's thing on and apparently they got into a fight or something over it. I'm not really sure what happened but Heath's blaming me for it and got really angry about it." Kyle explains. "I don't know what happened next, I just remembering dad and my ex get mad like that and it never ended well for me when they got like that."
"You think Heath would have gotten physical with you as well?" Brax asks, just wanting to know if Kyle still had a fear of it happening to him again, but with one of them instead.
"I don't know." Kyle honestly sighs. "There are times that I know he would do anything like that, especially when I see him with Darcy and also how much he loves Bianca… But then I've seen the River Boy side to him and I realise that he had done bad stuff in the past, and is capable of hurting someone when he gets mad. I know I shouldn't be saying it because he's our brother, I just can't be around someone like that again."
"You don't need to explain your reasonings, Kyle. Heath had no right to shout at you because of that. He should have been upfront with Bianca from the start and you did the right thing telling her. I understand where you're coming from but Heath would never hurt you like they did. Yeah, he's got a short temper, but he cares about you." Brax says.
"I know." Kyle lightly nods.
"Are you sure that's all that's troubling you?" Brax asks, sensing it wasn't, he just wasn't sure what it could be.
Kyle took a few more deep breathes before pulling his phone out of his pocket. He went on there to pull something up on the screen before staring at it. He knew Brax deserved to know, and he wanted him to. He'd been the one person Kyle could talk to about anything since he arrived, and he was glad he had someone like that to talk to after so long of having people not just abuse him, but abuse his trust.
"This." Kyle mutters, handing Brax his phone. "Dad keeps calling me from prison and won't lay up. I didn't know the number before, so answered. He was saying how I need to give him a good reference or something so he can get out of prison, but I didn't understand what he meant and he started saying all this stuff… It's just got me on edge because I thought he was out of my life when he was sent away. I don't even understand how he got my number because I changed it when I moved here." He says, having thought about it since the phone call, not being able to make sense of it.
"I haven't heard from him since he was arrested, I know the boys haven't either. I can't believe he's done this." Brax sighs. "Don't worry about it happening again, I'm going to block the prison number on your phone and I'll get in contact with the prison, tell them we don't want contact with him."
"Do you think that will work?" Kyle asks, not wanting another phone call from Danny as it brought up past fear that he wouldn't be able to escape from him again.
"I'll make sure of it. He had no right telling you to get him out of prison and there's nothing you could do anyway. He was sent down for murder and I'd be surprised if he gets out before his 8 years are up. He's out of our lives either way, that's one thing I will make sure of." Brax says. "Is there anything else you wanted to talk about?"
"Just not to mention any of this to the others. I know you won't, I just don't want them knowing about the abuse stuff yet." Kyle says.
"That's your thing to tell, you don't have to worry about that. Everything you tell me will stay between us unless you want the others to know." Brax says, lightly frowning as Kyle chuckles to himself. "What?"
"Nothing." Kyle shakes his head with a smile.
"Tell me." Brax firmly says.
"It's like I've got my own perusal therapist, and it's all for free. Plus you're different when we talk about this stuff." Kyle says.
"Well how about you keep this stuff between us. I can't have people around town know I can be nice." Brax says as he stands up, knowing he was being a lot different to the River Boy guy that he showed in front of everyone else.
"No one would believe me even if I did go around telling people." Kyle says. "But I don't see what's wrong with people knowing you can be nice."
"Who's going to respect me if they think I can be nice?" Brax scoffs.
"Well I would. But then I do now." Kyle mutters, not really making sense of it.
"I should hope so." Brax smiles. "Anyway, are you going to be okay now?" He asks, knowing Kyle would say if he wasn't going to be, he just wanted to make sure.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. Thanks for helping me then, it means a lot." Kyle smiles.
"Don't mention it, you know I'm always around if you want a chat." Brax smiles.
And although Kyle knew he was going to have to talk to Heath at some point about what happened, he was feeling okay about it right now. Kyle loved his chats with Brax because his eldest brother always managed to make him smile at the end of it, and that's what he needed. He didn't have panic attacks often, but since the very first one, Brax has been able to recognise one happening and deal with it quickly. And the thing that amazed Kyle the most was a bad situation was always made better by Brax.
