Summer Bay Beach

Since before they could remember, the Braxton brothers had made it a regular thing to spend a day at the beach catching up with each other. They wouldn't have started it if it wasn't for the girls making it their thing to go for girls days out. Despite their reluctance to say it, the boys actually enjoyed their days having out, not needing to worry about work or other commitments that would normally take up their time.

When Brax, Heath and Casey go out surfing at the start of their day, Kyle takes it upon himself to get them food and beers for the day or has even given the girls a lift into Yabbie Creek if he knew his brothers were going to get carried away surfing. It never bothered him either as he found it better than watching them surf. They did normally come in when they saw him go down onto the beach which he preferred as well.

"Where's the rest of the beers?" Heath moans as he only sees one crate of beer, enough for two, maybe three each if Heath didn't get to them first.

"I can only carry so much with me and you wanted food from the diner. I would have gone to get another one but saw you coming in. I didn't think it would be a problem yet but I can go and get another one." Kyle says.

"Yeah, do that." Heath says before grabbing the bag of food.

"No, there's plenty for now." Brax says, gently slapping Kyle on the back with a smile as Heath walks away to eat the food, huffing something under his breath.

"Hey, save some for us!" Casey moans, trying to grab the bag off his older brother.

"I'm hungry, you should have asked for your own food if you wanted." Heath argues.

"We did ask, that's why Kyle got all that!" Casey says, managing to grab the bag.

"Casey, give that back now!" Heath shouts.

"Just because Bianca isn't talking to you after you lied to her, it does not give you the right to take it out on all of us." Casey hisses.

"If he kept his big mouth shut, Bianca wouldn't be ignoring me. I had good reasons to make excuses and I didn't see a problem with it. You're all making a huge fuss over nothing!" Heath shouts.

Kyle was starting to get a little freaked out over Heath's shouting. His brother's argument was quickly starting to become heated and Kyle just wanted to get away from it, so said he needed to get a drink before taking off up to the beachfront. Brax shouted at his brothers to pull their heads in before following Kyle up the path to see if he could find out what was going on. When he caught up, they sat down at one of the benches and Brax tried getting out of him why he walked off.

"It's nothing, I was just getting a drink." Kyle lies.

"Heath's the one who gives lame excuses for things, so start talking." Brax firmly, but gently, says.

"Honestly, Brax, I just needed a minute. The call from the prison still has me on edge but I'm feeling a lot better after our chat yesterday. I still haven't had a chance to talk to Heath either, so I'm not sure if he's still mad at me for his fight with Bianca. I think he is from what I could gather from down there. He's getting mad at little things and Bianca still isn't talking to him." Kyle says.

"You leave Heath to me. He was in the wrong and needs to realise that one way or another. He's just in a bad mood because deep down he knows it was wrong. It's got nothing to do with you and I'll make sure he doesn't do anything to you." Brax reassures. "I get why the calls from the prison still have you on edge, but you can start forgetting about that now. I called the prison after our chat, and they're removing your number from his contact list. They couldn't tell me how he got it, but said they'd make sure it doesn't happen again." He explains, seeing a look of relief wash over Kyle's face.

"Well that's a good thing then. But I still don't understand how he got my number. Only you guys have it because I changed it after I moved here. I didn't even have a phone before that because he wouldn't let me have one!" Kyle says.

"I don't know. It wasn't me or the boys, and the girls wouldn't talk to him even whenever he came here, so they wouldn't be in contact with him now." Brax says. "Whoever did give it to him will regret it when I find out."

"I wish I had you around years ago. I really could have done with it back then." Kyle lightly smiles, grateful to have his eldest brother around now.

"Trust me, if we knew about having another brother out there all those years ago, none of that stuff would have happened to you." Brax says, hating the abuse Kyle got in the past, and he'd do anything to make it better now. "Anyway, if that's all, then let's go join Heath and Casey. And don't worry about Heath, he'll stop being like that one way or another. It's a nice day and the girls aren't getting back from their spa day till later tonight as they're going for dinner afterwards, so Heath is not ruining that for us."

"Okay." Kyle nods, feeling a lot more relaxed about it now, so they head back down the beach. "Well they don't look to be fighting anymore."

"Good, means I don't have to waste time dealing with Heath's bad mood." Brax smirks, Kyle lightly laughing.

"Is everything okay?" Casey asks as they walk over to them.

"Yeah, everything's fine." Kyle says, seeing Casey had a tight grip on the bag of food so Heath wouldn't get to it again. "Are you going to guard that with your life any longer or can we eat something now?"

"Very funny." Casey lightly glares before handing it to Brax, knowing Heath wouldn't dare try and get it off him.

"There's two chicken mayo sandwiches, a BLT and a plain chicken." Brax says.

"Mine's the BLT." Casey says, taking it from him.

"I got a chicken mayo." Kyle says, also taking his from him.

"That leaves the plain chicken one for you." Brax says, handing it over to Heath.

"But I didn't want a plain chicken, where's the rest of it?" Heath asks.

"They didn't have what you wanted, and that was the only one I thought you wouldn't complain about." Kyle says. "It was either a plain chicken or veggie delight sandwich."

"Stop complaining about it and just eat it." Brax says, sitting down with Kyle and Casey while Heath grabs his second beer from the crate before sitting by them.

"What're we going to do the rest of the day?" Kyle asks as they all eat their sandwiches.

"How about a game of pool in the Surf Club?" Casey suggests, getting two nods as Heath was too busy on his phone. "We could even do a couple games paired up, losers buy dinner and drinks tonight."

"Sounds like a plan." Brax nods.

"Us two against them?" Casey asks Kyle, getting a quick nod.

"I paid for this, so I'm not paying for dinner as well." Kyle says, knowing him and Casey would do a lot better paired up together against their brothers, and although they knew it wasn't fair on Brax, Heath was in no mood to pay attention to a game properly.

"I see what you've done there." Brax says, instantly knowing what they were up to. "You know this happens every time we have a competitive game of pool." He says, but this time Heath was in a bad mood before the game had even started, so he was dreading what it was going to be like when they lost against their younger brothers.

"Okay, well we'll go against them two then." Kyle says as he looks at him.

"So not fair!" Casey frowns. "You know that's going to end even worse than the other times!"

"We do pair up every time we play a game, maybe things need to be switched up a bit. And you never know, it might go well for you." Kyle shrugs, although he'd seen Brax play and knew they might do well.

Then they got back to finishing their lunch before hanging around on the beach for a while longer. When they went up to play pool, they lasted a fair few games before it ended and just like they assumed, Brax and Kyle won against Casey and Heath, who took it a lot better than they thought he would. He'd even bought the first round of drinks and snacks for them without even needing to be forced into it. It just made Brax wonder why he had a sudden change of mood.
