Summer Bay Beach
"Now before we spend the day without thinking about work, or other aspects in life, I want everyone to promise that no fights are going to start today. The girls are having a day relaxing at the spa again, so I want us to have a day without any stress as well." Brax says to his three brothers, not believing that he was currently treating them like children just so he could have a day without sorting anyone's problems out.
"You don't need to worry about me causing trouble." Kyle says before drinking some of his water.
"Nor me." Casey says as he waxes his board down, wanting to fit a surf in before they go to dinner later that afternoon.
"I've already been warned about not ruining today, so you don't need to worry about that." Heath mutters, feeling like Kyle was still being careful around him after that day he caused him to have a panic attack.
"Good, cause I won't be happy if anything starts. And to make sure it doesn't, I'm making it clear now that we won't do anything like this again if an argument is started between anyone, I don't care if the girls still carry on their days out, we won't be." Brax firmly says to get the point across.
"Got it." They all nod.
"Let's play some footie." Casey says, putting his board with the others before grabbing the ball.
"You two go ahead." Heath says.
"Why?" Brax frowns.
"I just want to have a chat with Kyle. Don't worry, things will stay civil." Heath rolls his eyes, watching them walk a bit further down the beach before glancing over at Kyle, not really knowing how to start the conversation.
"You wanted to talk about something but you haven't said a word." Kyle says, briefly glancing down as he wasn't really in the mood to be talking to Heath after being ignored for days over something he didn't see the problem with, but Heath obviously did.
"I just wanted to say I'm sorry for the other day, I never meant to freak you out like that." Heath says.
"It's fine. I know you wouldn't do anything." Kyle says, about to walk back over to their brothers when Heath stops him.
"It's not fine, you were really scared. What caused you to have a panic attack like that? Is it something to do with Dad? I know you were with him before living with us." Heath says, wanting to try and get to the bottom of it.
"It's nothing, Heath, so drop it." Kyle glares.
"Okay." Heath says, holding his hands up as if in defence. "Well I just wanted to say sorry for causing you to have the panic attack, and for you to know that I was just going through some things with Bianca. It wasn't your fault we were having those problems, and I shouldn't have made out like it was. You did the right thing telling her and I should have been honest about it from the beginning. I never would have hurt you and I just want you to know that I would never even think about hurting my family like that."
"Well thanks. And I know you wouldn't, I had some issues of my own but they're all sorted now. Let's just leave it at that and move on." Kyle says, knowing Heath would never hurt him like their father did, he didn't have the same evil nature despite some of the things he's done with the River Boys in the past.
"Will you ever be honest with me about what happened before you came to live with us?" Heath asks.
"No, I'm not ready for anyone to know. One day in the very far future, I might be ready for people to know, but right now, it's too raw and I can't deal with people knowing about it. Just please don't ask me again." Kyle says.
"Okay. Well we better go join the boys before they decide to take bets or whatever for dinner tonight." Heath says, feeling better about clearing the air with Kyle. He was just intrigued to find out more about Kyle's past, and he didn't want to wait years to find out, that's if Kyle would really be ready to tell anyone other than Brax. But for now he had apologised for his behaviour, and that was a start.
Surf Club - Angelo's
"Now we've established this won't be the last day out we have for a while, when do you reckon the next one will be?" Casey asks as they tuck into their pizzas.
"I think the girls will be fed up with the spa by now, they go nearly every other week at this point." Brax says.
"Something tells me that won't stop them from keeping it up." Kyle says. "Vic and Denny were talking about how they want to do a spa retreat thing soon and how they could make a week of it."
"Yeah, Ricky mentioned something about that as well. It's somewhere down the coast that they've been wanting to go to since they started this girls day out thing." Brax says.
"What would we do during a whole week without them around?" Casey asks.
"Get drunk." Heath says before shoving more pizza into his mouth.
"Well why don't we go away somewhere as well?" Kyle suggests.
"There is that surfing spot up the coast that we've been wanting to check out, that would be the ideal time." Casey says.
"Yeah but Kyle doesn't surf." Brax says, wanting to go somewhere that Kyle could be included in if they had to go away.
"It wouldn't matter. You wouldn't be surfing every second of the day, and when you do go surfing I can check out the area or whatever." Kyle says. "When else would you get the opportunity to go there?"
"Exactly." Casey says.
"Let's just wait and see if the girls do decide to go on the spa retreat, but we wouldn't be surfing all the time when there. There's four of us, not three." Brax reminds two of his brothers.
"Wouldn't bother me, we could work something out when there. But I don't think they'll be going for a while, not by what I could work out, as they couldn't all get the same time off work for ages." Casey says.
"Nah, wouldn't bother me either. Darcy doesn't go on break at school for ages yet, and she's been enjoying going with the girls. Her and Bianca are really starting to bond more now." Heath says.
"How's Connie been since you got full custody?" Brax asks, not having heard much about it mentioned.
"She's been a lot better about it than I thought she would. She wants Darce to go and stay with her for a weekend soon, we've just got to sort some agreements out first so she doesn't think it will happen every weekend. Although she must have been drunk or something the other day as she was shouting abuse down the phone at me, saying I've been trying to ruin her life since finding out about Darcy." Heath says, shaking his head at the argument Connie caused over it.
"Is she going to try for custody again?" Casey asks.
"She did phone the next morning and apologised, but it still has me on edge over her sudden change in attitude. I'm hoping she doesn't, and I doubt she'd get anywhere if she did, but I have had that thought in the back of my head. Bianca said I was worrying about nothing because Darcy is happy here and wants to stay with us. Apparently she even told Bianca that she loved having her as a stepmom. Things have been looking up since then." Heath explains.
"Maybe that's a good thing then. If Connie knew how happy Darcy was with you, I don't think she'd try to ruin that knowing it would upset Darcy more than anyone." Kyle says.
"Well I know one thing is for certain and that's me and Bianca needing our own place to start a proper family. The flat isn't big enough for us, and we think it would be good for us to have our own place to call home." Heath says.
"So are you two actually talking now or was this discussed before the fights?" Casey asks.
"No, we're talking now and that's one of the things that was mentioned. She told me MacGuire wasn't interested in her now he's with Leah, but I still don't trust him." Heath says.
"You don't trust many people. He's with Leah, and it's going to ruin your relationship with Bianca if you don't let it go. Bianca is with you, and has stayed with you, so let it go." Casey says before deciding to change the conversation before Heath decided to go on a rant about his hatred for Bianca's ex-fling.
