Surf Club - Angelo's

Kyle had cut his shift early, finding someone to cover for him so he could be alone. Brax had gone in to check on things when he realised Kyle had gone early, so helped out a bit during the dinner rush. He guessed he'd decided to hang out with Victoria some more as Heath and Casey said they hadn't seen them when they went up after their shift. But it wasn't until Victoria stormed up to the bar that Brax realised they weren't with each other.

"Vic, are you able to cover a shift on Saturday? We've had a last minute booking so I need an extra pair of hands on shift." Brax asks, looking up as she slams something in front of him. "What's this?" He frowns, picking up a piece of paper.

"I quit." She defiantly says.

"You what?" Brax scoffs, never having expected to hear those words from her, but her resignation was right there in front of him.

"You're brother is a dick and I want nothing to do with him again." Victoria says, rushing back out of the restaurant.

"Victoria!" Brax frowns as he calls after her, turning to the waiter nearest to him. "Rich, I need you to take charge for a bit." He says before rushing off after Victoria. "Hey, Victoria, wait up." He says, managing to catch up on the beachfront.

"I don't care whether you accept it or not, I've quit." She says as she turns to face him.

"What's brought all this on?" Brax asks. "I mean come on, you're my longest employee. You suddenly quitting for no reason deserves some sort of explanation. And I'm guessing it's got something to do with Kyle."

"Turns out he's just been using me to get what he wants, and I've been a fool by thinking what we had was real." She says, taking a hand through her hair.

"Are you joking? You and Kyle had the realest relationship and he loves you so much." Brax says. "Kyle wouldn't have used you for anything." He scoffs, shaking his head at the thought.

"He has and I never saw it before."

"Kyle loves you, we can all see it. What brought this on?"

"Why does it even matter now? I am done." She firmly says, walking away for good, leaving Brax standing there confused, so he decided he had to go and talk to Kyle about it.

Braxton House

"Kyle, you home?" Brax shouts through the house.

"He's in his room." Heath says as he walks out from the hallway. "I was actually about to call you. He's refusing to talk and got pretty angry when I mentioned Victoria."

"Yeah, they broke up." Brax says, walking to Kyle's room before Heath could say another word. "Hey mate." He says, shutting the door as he walks in.

"Go away." Kyle mutters.

"Why have you and Victoria broken up?" Brax asks, Kyle shrugging.

"I don't even know. We had a really great relationship and then she just started accusing me of lying to her about stuff, and being secretive. I haven't, not really, I just didn't want her to know about my past because I knew it would change things." Kyle sighs.

"Have you tried talking to her about it?"

"Yeah, she just got even angrier and made it clear we weren't getting back together. I'm not going to force her into being in a relationship with me when it's clearly not what she wants anymore."

"I'm sure that's not true."

"She's already cleared all of her stuff out from here. She said there's no chance for us to get back together unless I be truthful with her, and I can't do that. I could barely tell you, and I know it won't stay between us for long if more people knew about it." Kyle says.

"I think you should go and talk to her once more. Maybe she'll have calmed down a bit more now and realise that some things are best left in the past." Brax says.

"Yeah, maybe you're right." Kyle says as he stands up from his bed. "Guess I should do it now before I back out." He mutters, grabbing his phone from the side before walking out.

The Diner Pier

"Hey, Kyle. Fancy seeing you here." Phoebe says.

"Fancy that." Kyle mutters, not having had any luck in finding Victoria anywhere, and she was ignoring his calls.

"How about I shout you a coffee?" Phoebe says, placing a hand on his arm. "I bet you could do with a friend right now?" She asks, and Kyle could see a different side to her that he hadn't really seen before.

"Yeah, you could say that." Kyle nods.

"I heard about you and Victoria breaking up. I was sorry to hear it, you two looked so loved up the other day. So come on, let's get some coffee and you can tell me all about it." Phoebe says as they walk into the diner, ordering their coffees before sitting near the back of the diner. "When did it happen?"

"Earlier today. I've just been out looking for her to see if we could talk about it." Kyle says.

"Do you really think that's a good idea?"

"Why wouldn't it be? She didn't give me a straight answer as to why she broke up with me and I just want to know what reasons she had for it. None of it made sense because we loved each other so much." Kyle says. "She mentioned you went to see her, has that got something to do with why she's broken up with me?"

"I just wanted to apologise for how mean I was to her. You had a good thing going on there, and I didn't want it to seem like I was coming in between you both, because I was just here for a catch up as we hadn't seen each other in so long. If I knew it would have led to this, I would have waited until you were around so it wouldn't be taken in the wrong way." Phoebe lies, seeing Kyle believed every word. "I've never seen you as happy as you were with her, and I'm so sorry she broke up with you. If I could talk to her, to somehow make things right with you both, then I would."

"No, this has to be between me and Vic. Maybe I should leave her to think over things tonight so we can talk through things tomorrow with a fresh mind. I've tried calling but she won't answer, so I'll give her some space. Maybe this was just a big misunderstanding and we can work through things." Kyle lightly shrugs, hoping that was the case because he really did love her.

"And what if that isn't the case, and she doesn't want to get back together with you?" Phoebe asks.

"I don't know." Kyle sighs.

"Well you need to consider that it's a huge possibility that she isn't going to change her mind. What happens then? You become a mess with false hope?"

"I guess you're right. I just wish she would talk to me about this, just so I know for definite that we can't work through things."

"Doesn't that prove how little she cared about you if she was just willing to drop your relationship without giving you a full explanation? How much of your relationship was just so she could have the feeling of being with someone, and now she's bored, she's got rid of you." Phoebe says. "I hate to say this, Kyle, but you weren't the problem in the relationship. You were too good for her, and I'm just glad it's happened now rather than further down the line when you could have been hurt even more."

"Vic wasn't that type of person. We had it good." Kyle says.

"Then why has she just dumped you like this? Cause to me, that doesn't sound like something a good person would do. She would make time for you to both sit down so you can both talk about this properly so you know why she really did it. But you said she wasn't even answering your calls. You're a good person and maybe she thought she could take advantage of that, but you need to focus on yourself now. You deserve to be happy and that certainly isn't with her, no matter what you think."

"I know. Maybe I should just wait and see if she'll let us talk through things, if not then there's nothing else I can do about it. I'm not in the mood to be arguing with her, I know that would just make things a lot worse and I can't deal with that right now." Kyle says.

"Exactly. You need to put yourself before her, just like she's done with herself." Phoebe says, smiling at her handy work.

"Yeah, thanks."

"No sweat. You know I'm always going to be here for you, we're still great friends." Phoebe says.
