Chapter 6 – Unforgettable

After Clarke left the hospital, she wanted to turn back and go fight for Lexa but she had moved on, she had someone new she didn't need her anymore. But the kiss she couldn't get it out her mind, Lexa kissed you back, she must have felt it too.

"Fuck it" with that Clarke turns around and makes her way back into the hospital and back towards Lexa's room. As she got closer, she can hear voices coming from the room.

"Lex why didn't you tell her who I am, she must have gotten the wrong idea, I love you Lex but I can't watch you break again, last time was hard enough. You've been injured badly 3 times now; this one was bad. Lexa I almost lost you."

"Lindsay, I don't want to get my hopes up not. I can't go through that, I can't put anyone through that. Like you said I got injured again, I could have died"

"But you aren't Lex, you've got to stop running away. I say this coz I love you but I'm not going to sit around for you to just go back to being the commander as the unit call you"

Clarke saw a group of army guys and a girl walk past her and into Lexa's room. "Hey commander, good to see you alive"

"shut up murphy" Lexa said through a laugh with a slight cough.

"So Lindsey, did you do a good job patching this one up, again, I bet she's your best patient"

Best patient, best patient, that kept going around in her head until she heard all she need to in the response. "Well as the units best medic I will say she will be fine she just needs to stop getting shot, this in what bullet 6"

"7 actually my first one was on my first tour but you weren't there"

Clarke decided enough was enough. She was going into that room and getting the answers she needed.

Clarke walked into the room, she saw the room was full, Anya and Raven on the far side of the room out the way. Then the girl know as Lindsey was sand on the foot on the bed, two guys in uniform where lent on the wall opposite the door, mouths open looking at Clarke. Then there was the only other female she spun around hearing the guys taking in a deep breath, her mouth went open as she moved out the way so Lexa could see who it was.

A chocked "Clarke" came out.

"Alexandria" Clarke replied obviously pissed off

"ohhhh commander, your in trouble with the princes"

"shut up murphy" everyone in uniform shouted at once.

"I cant do this anymore Lexa" Clarke said as she walked towards where Lexa sat on the bed. "The last 5 years have been fucking shit, all I think about is you. You must have felt it in that kiss"

The room was silent. Everyone looking between Clarke and Lexa, the latter looked like a deer in headlights.

"I… I… I… Cant, not now" Lexa stammered as a tear fell down her cheek.

"everyone out, they need some time to talk" it was Raven, she know these two needed to talk and properly it had been 5 years they needed to clean the air.

Reluctantly they all walked out the room leaving Clarke and Lexa alone. As Lexa looked past Clarke, she noticed the guitar lent against the wall, a small smile on her lips she got that for the girl on their 2nd anniversary.

"you still have it"

"yes, its my favourite one" a small smile on her lips.

"Lexa, I cant lose you not again, and shot 7 times are you serious. The doctor said you could have died. Can you see why it cared me you joining up."

Lexa just nodded and tried to get up and out of bed again

"I swear to good if you try and get up again I'm going to tie you to the fucking bed" this made Lexa turn bright red. Just then Lexa's boss walked in the room, a smile playing on his lips.

"I think that's the most emotion I've ever seen on your face Woods"

"sorry sir" seeing him Lexa again tried to get up, Clarke went right over you her putting her hand on hr chest pushing her down with a stern look at Lexa. Lexa gave in looking embarrassed for giving in under a look, she had never done that and after all these year Clarke still has the power over her.

"I would do as your girlfriend says Woods, when my wife gives me that look its no use"

"Ex-girlfriend sir" Lexa said quietly, then looking at Clarke with and apology ready just to be shut down with a wave.

"woods, it looks like your not going to be able to redeploy with the unit the damage to your leg is too server, its going to take long to heal we are going to station you back state side. I'm sorry, the unit is still yours and when your ready, you will be overseeing the training of new recruits to the unit"

For a moment Lexa was quiet, she looked at the blonde in front of her "Clarke can I have a moment please". Clarke gave her had a quick squeeze and left, leaving Lexa and her boos alone.

"sir, I cant come back, I've been in for nearly 6 years I think its time for me to leave"

"may I ask why"

Lexa's eyes moved to where the blond was stood on the other side of the door, surrounded by the unit asking her questions and taking photos "I walked away once I cant do it again, not if I have a chance, no matter how small."

"I get it, well good luck, Major General" he's said with a smile on his face.

"sir, I'm leaving"

"the promotion still stays, you save a lot of lives woods, now go make your self happy. If you get her don't let her go she's a good one."

"yes sir I don't plan on ever letting her go again if I get the chance."

"she's here you've got it just take the risk" with that he walked out the room, said something to Clarke. He then pulled the unit to the side as Clarke waked back in.

"Hey, so your leaving, do you mean it" Clarke sounded scared as she sat in front of Lexa on the bed.

Lexa grabbed Clarke's hands and took a deep breath, "I am, I've let you go before and yet you're here, if I have the slightest chance I want it, I still love you I never stopped."

"lex…." Clarke didn't get the chance to respond as she eas pulled into a kiss. A kiss that said everything Lexa wanted to let her know. It took a second but Clarke kissed back with just as much emotion. Tears coming from both girls. Lexa slipped her hands round to the small of Clarke's back pulling her closer. As Lexa went to deepen the kiss the door swung open.

"go on commander get some, princess got moves, she's got you all smiling and red"

"fucking finally, hand it over bitch I win" at that all heads snap round to look at Anya and Raven as Raven hands over money to Anya.

"really you too, betting on us again" Lexa said trying to sound angry but her smile gave it away.

"what its too easy, my next one will be on when you to get engaged" Clarke and Lexa just roll there eyes as some of the unit start saying they are in. Lexa cant help but be happy everyone she cared about was in the room. With everyone talking, Lexa whispered to Clarke,

"got any songs your working on"

"I may have a few. One for their wedding." She said pointing to Anya and Raven "I have another as well, why you want to hear it"

"YESSSS" came a shout from a little woman in uniform.

Everyone just burst out laughing "I'm Maddie I'm a massive fan, I made commander listen to all your songs, and kept saying who ever hurt you was an idiot, not realising she was the idiot. So please yess sing"

Clarke just laughed, "well the idiot came back, so she's not too bad. Pass me the guitar please."

Everyone took a seat around the room as Clarke got ready.

"so I wrote this a while ago, I was going to release it then well year, so here goes, this is called unforgettable."

The room was silent as the two girls just looked at each other like they where the only people in the world.

A young man in uniform walked into the room not noticing the mood "major general Woods, I have your papers here for your discontinuing of service"

"your leaving" and "major general" could be hear throughout the room. Lexa signed the forms and the young man left. Lexa then turned to her unit who all had questioning eyes.

Firstly yes, I got promoted I tried to turn it down but they wouldn't let me. Secondly yes, I'm leaving, my leg is going to take a lot of time to heal and may never be the same again, also I've walked away once and would be stupid to do it again" Lexa turned looking to Clarke "so I'm choosing to come home, to come home to you"

Then Lexa pulled Clarke in for a heated kiss forgetting out the others in the room, Lexa pushed her tongue into Clarke's mouth, getting a moan from the other girl. Clarke went to move her hands up under Lexa's top but was stopped by someone by the door clearing there throat.

Lexa looked up to see none other then Dr Abby Griffin. "well, well, Alexandria I see not a lot has changed I'm still walking in on you with my daughter". Abby let out a chuckle, "you two could never keep your hands off each other. Its good to see you"

Lexa went bright red as the woman leaned in to hug her. "you too Mrs Griffin"

"Its actually Dr Abby Kane now, I married Marcus 2 years ago, but you can still just call my Abby."

The room started to buzz with conversion as the unit wanted to know what younger Lexa was like and then wanted to know about Clarke, and also about how the two met and got together. Stories where exchanged and a few tales about the fearless commander.
